I think I am 7dpo today.
I'm not sure what day to count O day as.

Had a bit of ewcm on CD31 but then had some huge blobs of it on CD 33.
DTD CD32

Today is CD 41

Lola, thanks for the advice. I think we will find out though. DH really wants to know himself and I do too. I've just been thinking about it too much. I'm sorry you have to put your dog to sleep, it's so hard. We did it 5 months ago and it was awful :(

PoP, I only used about 1-2g of preseed. I find if we watch porn before we DTD I don't need any preseed though. Might be worth a go?!

LBAM, it's really hard to know when you O'ed because your cycles are so irregular and you haven't been using OPKs. If you don't get a bfp this time are you going to actively ttc?

Here's to May and all those bfps!!

Good luck this month ladies. I am REALLY rooting for you!!!

As for the preseed discussion from the last thread, I used only a small amount--not sure the exact measurement ( we are out of applicators or I would look), but I definitely didn't use the amount the package said to use!! Probably 1/4 of the applicator full at most? I am still using it now during pregnancy because for some reason, I am really dry during sex--must be hormones? Last pregnancy I was really horny all the time (TMI?) and had no problem being lubed up naturally. This time I am not very interested, and sex isn't very good, either. Weird?

Thanks for kicking off May with such an AWESOME pic, Cinss!

Bec, I think this is a question worth asking because many of us are porn newbies....maybe others can hop in, and I know it's a funny subject sometimes- but what kind do you guys watch together? I have read a few stories about couples ttcing and watching porn together to keep it spicy....plus, and sorry for tmi, but it does tend to get you both turned on so you do have a greater chance at having a big O, and your DH will likely (again, sorry) shoot a pretty "strong" load. But here's my thing- I can watch whatever by myself, which I rarely do, but watching something TOGETHER is a new ball game. I can't watch anything too gross or freaky, kwim? Not that I'm prudish, but I would laugh or be like "Ewwwww!" with my DH and that kinda defeats the purpose. Any suggestions?

OMGGGGGG, me tooooooo! My girls have to be there at 7:20am. It just kills me. I am so not a morning person. Plus, they are hardly awake at that hour, even though they go to bed at 9pm at the latest. My kids are super sleepers, and will sleep in till 9am on the weekends. And I have to leave work and pick them up and sit in what is, I swear, the longest and slowest carpool line on the planet. So looking forward to summer!

Lola, it was years ago, but when my DH and I were in our 20s (way before kids) we watched some porn one night (something we never do) and we ended up DTD'ing 4 times that night, and he didn't pull out any of those times....i was still in college and it freaked me out because I thought for sure we would have had an opps...anyway, it's one of those nights that look back on fondly, because it was sooooo out of the ordinary for us, and it was just kinda hot.

I def. think porn could be a great tool for a boy swayer...naturally get things roaring!

Thanks for the input! I've had a good experience like that also, but a couple of bad ones. It was pretty much the guy that was bad, though, LOL. I think it is good for boy swayers, especially when ttc gets monotonous!

Then I think you are doing the right thing finding out. I honestly think I would too. And sorry to hear about your pup- it is awful. I got her when she was 8 weeks old and I was 22, and now I'm 36 and she really needs to be put down. Her back legs barely work anymore. I have to help her outside with a towel under her abdomen to support her legs. My vet keeps telling me that it's better to do it sooner than later so I don't have all of these memories of her suffering, so I know I need to do it soon. It's just that she is totally lucid and, as the vet put it, ok from the neck up. She knows me and is happy and all, and on painkillers, of course, but she is just old.

It's funny that the porn topic has come up now, im sure the boys talk about it freely, but it is a bit of a secret when it comes to the girls. DP and i actually did watch some last month to get things going, it wasn't planned, he was surfing his new iPhone and of course one of his mates had told him of a good free porn site to check out, i cant remember the name of it now, it was something like redtube. Anyway he showed me the page of videos he had found then asked me to pick one to watch, it was really smart of him to do it that way now i think about it, it gave me control over the situation and i didn't feel threatened by his choice, i actually chose the one with a good looking guy in it so it was eye candy for me too. And yes it definatly got us both warmed up and rearing to go make a baby :)

I doubt there is something wrong--you have had 5 kids already... it seems like lots of ladies are having a hard time getting pregnant right now, and I am not sure why! It doesn't make sense. I wonder if the stress of TTC is getting to people. That's all I can think, because all of you ladies have several children already, so you know you are fertile. I hope it happens for everyone soon!

Hey ladies,

Flava, how are you going? Feeling any better?

Lola, it is hard decision to make to decide when to put your pup to sleep. We probably should have done it a few weeks earlier than we did but we couldn't bear it. I know it sounds selfish but it is so hard to let go :( Are you girls very fond of you pup?

LBAM, so sorry about AF coming. Even though you haven't used protection for 7 months you mightn't be DTD around O time so that could be why you haven't conceived.

Hobs, I think you might be right. We are all trying so hard to get pregnant with a desired gender. And we all know stress can have an influence on conceiving. Hard not to stress I guess. Wish it would just happen for everyone already!

DH and I always watch lesbian porn. I really don't like watching a man and a woman, it just doesn't do it for me AT ALL. Funny you should mention the 'eww' comments. We watched this comic porn the other night, gawd it was funny! We were both laughing so much. Some of the stuff out there is gross though. Cinss mentioned it, but the website we use is redtube. It has soo many on there, all different categories and you can choose the most popular ones, which are usually really good. When we watch porn we don't use any preseed as we don't need it.

I had my ob follow up appointment this morning. The baby had trisomy 22 so that explains the miscarriage. And it was a girl. Apparently my lining is quite thick so hopefully AF isn't too far away now.

Actually, if you get a period it meant you Oed! I found that out in this last month. I was having many + OPKS since Feb and not knowing if I was actually ovulating. And then..
I also had 6 + opks with my conception cycle.. :) !!!

I have to disagree with you here. You can still get your period without ovulating, it's called an anovulatory cycle. I have had many in the past. Cinss had one a few cycles ago too I think.

Annita2003
May 2nd, 2012, 02:17 AM
To confirm an anovulatory cycle there is a very easy way. If you take bbt then your temps will be all over the place and not in two phases which should be when you are ovulating. With an erratic bbt chart you will now that you are not ovulating and take steps. May be you people will be shocked but I live in a country where neither opks are available, nor the strips or the saliva microscope and I searched it everywhere. As my cycles are irregular I was also scared of anovulatory cycles but charting for a few months I am sure I ovulate, just that I have high estrogen and testosterone that delays my ovulation.

Yeah i agree you can still bleed if no egg pops out... It is the worst waste of time, i would not wish that on anyone ttc. Lbam i think you still can get ewcm because your body is gearing up to O for a day or two before you actually do. It is too hard to try to pinpoint what went wrong. With you me or our partners or a combination of things. Hang in there you guys are fertile so it will happen.

It's so nice just taking prenatal and fish oil. I haven't temped in days and it's great not having to wake up earlier and then not fall back to sleep because me temp concerns me or excites me in some way. If I can judge it right I am going to attempt daily for 4 days before O and day of O...tiny bit of preseed every second day (just incase it's stopping me falling pregnant) and I am going go TBM every second day...mix it up a bit and see if that works. I am sick of TTC!!

mommy- sorry for AF...it may be the stress ? When I got me bfp we take it easy for sure no planing out much , I did not even have big O because I can't in caveman style...also that month FF did not gave me O date and my temps looked so crazy like I did not O at all .So it's not like we can always tell from temps because there is not always two phases .

OH gosh, Bec....I hope you are doing ok with that news. I bet I've had one of those too at some point, some trisomy at least. It is so common, and you know it doesn't mean that it will happen again. I am so sorry. And yes, my girls have never known life without our dog....she was my first "baby" if you will. I've talked with them about it and we've had our cries, but they understand that life has a cycle and everyone is born and everyone dies. They get it, and I am glad we have pets for that reason. Life is precious and that is something important to teach little ones, in my opinion.

LBAM, sorry about AF. I agree with the other ladies, sometimes it can just take time for no apparent reason. You never know, there may be something going on, who knows. Maybe the stress, maybe something minor. But also, sometimes it just takes time. If you've been a year, yes, definitely go to the doc. And don't overlook your DH....this is unlikely, because you have 5 kids, but sometimes sperm can change and take a downward spiral for various reasons, things as small as your DH having a minor internal infection that has elevated his white blood cell count, something he'd never know because you don't feel sick. Not to freak you out at all, just take it from me, don't consider that it's necessarily your issue. (I'm such a male factor nerd now, sorry.) But seriously, I know a ton of couples whom it took like a year to get pg with their 3rd or 4th for some random reason. Keep your chin up, and definitely start using some opks if you aren't so you can pinpoint your O well.

OK, so redtube is the one. I've actually heard of that before. I think I may have to check it out myself so I can see what's out there. My best friend is a bit of a perv, and she lent me this dvd last night that she used to watch with her boyfriend, but it was not my cup of tea. A lot of anal sex and bjs I don't particularly care for watching that over and over. She was saying lots of porn is more male-oriented so it has lots of that stuff but you just have to find what turns you on. I'm learning, and thanks for the tips! I think it's a good thing to explore some of this stuff when you've been ttc for almost 2 years and it gets to be a chore sometimes!

I have these AWFUL cramps again today, they are taking my breath away. I'm 5dpo, and of course, doubt we made a baby this month as usual, but what the heck???? I don't want to go back to my doctor, but I'm thinking about it. I hope I don't have endrometriosis or something now.

In my early part of the preg. I was feeling totally cut off down there but since I entered my 2nd trimester it's bee nuts how much I think about it, and how my dreams are explosions of one long...you know. Just nuts. Another tip for the racey videos is sometimes its best to watch them with no sound. I know some of the sounds the women make in them sound very fake, and it is likely that only other females pick up on that and it can be a turn off, so just turn off the sound and it really makes it a lot more visual and believable.

Go for it!!! But don't work on it...Just have sex like you weren't tryin!

Do I still have to wait another 5 months . The reason for our waiting is that DD may need an operation in the summer (after she is 18 months old) and we will find out on the 16th of May if she needs the op or not. Nothing yet, we may have to wait until his follow up appt on the 11th. The fertility clinic is weird about giving out test results. They said we'll have to make an appt to come in and talk with someone about them, meaning a nice fat $250 appt fee for them. I asked if that meant they were bad results because we'd have to come talk about it, and they said no, they do that with everyone. I told them just to send them to the urologist and we'd deal with them. I think my DH is going to try to call today and see if anything yet. Thanks for asking!!! I am so dying to know that count number!

I am the SAME way, exactly the same. I had insane sex dreams, never the DH (but this was with the ex, who was not particularly sexy to me because, well, I hated him). I feel like I would have orgasms in my sleep, too.

And yes, I agree with you and Cinss about the weirdo porn. I don't like hearing those icky loud moans and the HORRID music in most of them either! I am just going to check it out alone this weekend while DH is away so I can kind of see if there is anything I would be comfortable watching with him. I've never been really good with stuff like that, and my DH is not a super adventurous guy in the bedroom- although it's fun- he's more into just sex and not toys or videotaping or anything mildly kinky like that!

IDK, they are really strange! I was 5dpo yesterday and they hit me like a ton of bricks in the morning. And these are not mild AF like cramps, they are the kind that doubles you over and makes it hard to breathe normally. I had to take 2 painkillers yesterday! They feel like the hard core labor cramps you get when it feels like there is a knife in your uterus and the pain radiates around to your back too. I am ok today, though. I can't imagine I've grown polyps or fibroids or whatever in a matter of a week, because she u/s me just a week ago and all looked great. Maybe I'm just getting old and my uterus is rebelling.

Do I still have to wait another 5 months . The reason for our waiting is that DD may need an operation in the summer (after she is 18 months old) and we will find out on the 16th of May if she needs the op or not. So fingers crossed that we here good news in two weeks time and we can start working on making her a little brother.

Oh jeez, I hope she doesn't need it! I know that is scary to think about your little one going under the knife!!! Well hey, you can start swaying now and changing your diet and taking supps even if you are not ttc yet. I can totally understand wanting to wait until the stressful period is over.

I am really starting to majorly stress about it at the moment and fingers & toes crossed that she will not need it. But if she does then both me and DH feel like we need to concentrate on the baby we have.

I am only taking folic acid and trying to increase snacking and protein at the min. But if she gets the all clear in two weeks then the swaying will start in full.

Hi Lola,

Sorry you are having such a hard time of it lately. I know you said you were 5dpo but it could be late really bad middlesmertz. I do get middlesmertz and about 3 times in my life I have had it so bad that I thought I had appendicitis or something else very serious. I would be in agony, unable to move. As you said like full on labour pain.

Well, I know I ovulated on CD14 because I got a +opk and I do get ovulation pain/middleschmirtz....I can feel my ovaries going nuts for a good hour or so. This is very much uterine cramping. I had it on CD 8 as well, after AF this month, and I had a normal AF but I spotted brown for a week before AF and then had red spotting for about 5 days after also, which is highly abnormal for me. My doctor couldn't tell me what was wrong as she said my uterus looked perfectly fine (I saw her last week, it was CD11) and she could see my ovaries about to pop out an egg. I hope it's not something else like appendicitis!!!! Pearl, when you had your pains, you think it was a super strong ovulation only?

I am definitely :fingers: that PoP, Cniss, Bec & u too Lola (sooo sorry if I forgot anyone!) get a big FREAKING Postiive real soon!! The reading sounds so awesome, PoP, I hope it definitely comes true!

Bec, we've had the name Lillian picked out from before we knew DS2 was a boy. DH loves it and he hates every other girl name out there, so even though I wanted a chance to start over again on names, I still really like it, and it goes well with our boys names (Quinten & Evan) and my DH is still into it, so it's going to stick as the name. She'll be Lillian Elizabeth, because my middle name is Elizabeth too, so we'll share that :)

Lola, I think that's a great idea to see what's out there and see what you like porn-wise before you bring it to your DH. I think finding something you like is a great idea. My DH and I like to sometimes read off the titles on the pay for porn channels on the TV because they are so cheesy and stupid, it makes us laugh.

Yeah, I don't know what the thing about DH is. I plenty enough enjoy his company and being with him in bed, but I just never wanna dream about him sexually or even fantasize about him in that way, LOL. I hope I'm not the only one, lol. I'd rather think about a mysterious man I make up in my head, not so much any real living flesh man, if that makes any sense. Maybe I just read too many racy, romance novels when I was younger.

And like your DH Lola, mine is all no fuss too....I think it would be insulted if i pulled out a toy or something while we were trying to do something. He's a meat and potatoes kind of sex guy, if you know what I mean.

POP i hope you do get your BFP this month, regardless of what a psychic says. She was just WAY off with my reading, she told me i feel like jumping off a bridge sometimes - I DONT think so !!!! and i need a daughter to feel unconditional love - I have that !!! A dead younger male - NOPE. She didnt give me a time frame, just a baby girl, haha she is probably right about that, but she was just guessing because i didnt give away anything in any of the 5 posts i had to do before she could "vibe" *cough* (stalk posts) *cough* on me. ;)

Bec- I would say do the diet the best you can for the next sway. I really believe if anything sway that is the diet. I don't see a point taking sups alone .I think the sups works because it helps out the diet but not alone.
Lots of ppl just did timing with sups and did not get the DG.
I just wish you get a boy after all this pain .

Flava, I'm still doing the diet but not as 'well' as I did. I did the absolute best I could last time and I still got a girl. I take alot of supps that help boost testosterone and I work out quite a bit so maybe that extra testosterone and muscle is what I need. Timing, schmiming, I don't believe in timing at all anymore!

Pearl, it so so hard waiting, I know how you feel. I joined this forum months before we actually started ttc. All the swaying talk really makes you just want to get started now! Sorry to hear your DD might need an operation :(

Lola, alot of places won't give out results unless you make an appointment. It's quite annoying actually. Hopefully your DH can find something out today. Glad to hear the cramps have settled down too. It doesn't sounds like appendicitis. That pain wouldn't generally come and go like the cramps you have been getting.

Auroara, Lillian goes so nicely with your boys' names. I'm like that, I don't really want to use names we would have used for our DDs if they were boys but DH is so picky. Oh and I don't like to dream about DH either. I can have him in real life so why would I want to dream about him?!

Dloui, I'm sure you don't look as bad as you feel!

How are you other ladies doing? PoP, Cinss?

I am doing great!! Just been concentrating on the kids, work and friends. I still haven't temped or done anything towards my sway at all. I will start opk's towards the end of next week and when I start to see the line get darker I will start temping. My opk's tend to get dark but not positive for about 4 days or so before the smiley. At that point I will start daily attempts with a tiny bit of preseed alternating between natural and TBM. Just a casual and relaxed TBM though...no stress involved. Will attempt until day after O. I find most days I am not even thinking about TTC which is a fantastic change!!!

So, it's 7dpo again and the brown spotting has begun again just like last cycle. ARG! I hope I'm not in for another round of this weirdness and pain. I am wondering if there is something with this diet that is making my cycles different, or bringing on spotting and cramps? Like not enough fats or something? I do take fish oil and DHA with prenatals, and do eat some fats each day, just not like I used to. I have really cut carbs out too, but I do have some every once and a while. Anyone have experience with going on a big diet and having your cycle change?

In early pregnancy the heart rate don't matter (if you looking at the OWT) because the parasympathetic nervous system is immature and not yet developed in order to slow the heart rate down.
So don't worry!

Hey ladies! I'm sitting in the waiting room of outpatient surgery, DH is having a knee repair as we speak. He's doing fine though, I already got an update. He had a chunk of cartilage the size of a finger missing. Joys of being a dancer! Anyway, my cramping has stopped, and the spotting has for the most part, too. I really think it has to do with not having carbs. I have been eating normally (although still pretty low cal) and I feel totally normal. Doubt I'm pg, but just want to not have anything wrong with ME now, for pete's sake.

Dloui, I am so glad you have a live raspberry in there! Don't think about heart rate, I agree with Flava and all, it doesn't indicate. I really don't think there are any gender indicators at all since I've heard the gamut with both sexes. Hope you are feeling alright, and also that you don't have any more scares!!! I bet it was some stretching, I get wicked random pains when pg.

Isn't it funny how we are all just ready to get pg now and not swaying anymore? It really starts to freak you out when it is taking a while and you begin to think it's the swaying messing with your cycle and causing problems. Generally, I doubt it is the swaying, and more often I think it's the stress of swaying and actively ttc. But who knows, right? I think we should all keep this in mind though: we have just as good of a chance of having a boy as any other lady in the world who is not doing anything. I think even making attitude adjustments, like being in control, etc, that raise testosterone sway way more than we think. It helps to eat well, but I do think that gaining is not good for the fertility after a while. But don't let go of the dream....it is way more important to do what is right for you in regards to being healthy and happy and then you will find your little one is peacefully on the way.

I also have strange bowel issues in the 2WW that i dismiss...

When I got preg with my two boys as an opps, I was actually not gaining weight with them, but trying to *lose* wieght and tone up. I was working out moderately, lifting weights moderately, and trying to eat a moderate diet of less sweets and more lean protein and more vegs. I actually think healthy fats (like extra virgin olive oil) and healthy food sways blue much better than just pure weight gain. They were opps but when I look back I remember that at their conceptions I was really trying to regulate my diet towards health only, and working out, so I felt like to be a girl swayer I had to go to an extreme, because for me moderation = boy.

BEEP BEEP BEEP the alarm goes off, it is 5 a.m. WAKE UP and swing your arm at your bedside table until you find your basal thermometer. Stick the right end of it in your vajayjay, in the exact same position everyday, and try to stay awake for five minutes. As you begin to wake up, realize how badly you need to urinate and try to resist the urge without squirming too much. Mentally tell yourself, "Just relax, it'll work out" -- chances are you'll hear that a few times today. Try to read the thermometer in the dark while your DP continues to sleep. When that fails, take it into the bathroom with you. Sit on the toilet and position yourself to either pee in a cup or on a stick. If you're really good, try to squirt a little out first. Give yourself extra points if you manage to do this routine without overfilling your cup or splashing a test window. While you wait, check your genitals for mucus. If you're lucky enough to find some, play with it! Look at it, feel it, stretch it. When you're done, go to the computor and chart your findings on FF. Analyse the data, and mutter to yourself, "You're probably just not trying hard enough" -- it won't be the last time you hear that today. If the calculations add up, go back into your bedroom and convince, cajole, and beg your DP to have intercourse -- and all the while remember not "to let the spontaneity go out of your sex life." After you're done, prop your butt up so it's higher than the rest of your body and lay there for a half hour. Figure out exactly how you're going to stay in that position for so long and still have time to shower, dress and have breakfast before you have to leave the house at 6:15. Say aloud, "If you can't even manage to do this, how will you ever manage another child?" -- another comment you'll get at some point during the day. When you finally make it out the door, remind yourself that, "This is the easy part" -- you'll hear that later as well. Give yourself a pat on the back for not only completing 5 a.m. chemistry class, but telling people the correct date when they ask instead of saying "Day 21".

I have all of my fingers and toes crossed for you Lola!! I hope you have a sticky little bean on board.

I have been chilling out this cycle. I just started temping again yesterday but I am really forcing myself, I just don't want to do it anymore. I guess after years of 1st attempt BFP's where I wasn't stressing and obsessive about my charts even when I was swaying....I think subconsciously my mind is blaming charting like I have been, for my BFN's. I need to at the moment though because my O has changed since I started swaying and I could miss it if I don't. Don't want to waste months not doing it at the right time.

I am throwing myself into other things and trying not to think about it. It's very hard to just accept that it will happen when the time is right though, I hate not having control.

Cinss
May 9th, 2012, 05:01 PM
Oh fx Lola, did you do a test today?

Im the same POP i cant not chart, i dont think charting is the cause of stress or anything it is just proof that something else is off, for me anyway. Waiting to O is the worst!!! I really broke down after last cycle, my chart was looking so promising, then AF... i guess all of the BFN's finally caught up with me, i have pulled myself out of that funk now though, kind of accepted defeat, now just waiting for whatever to happen, i think if i don't expect to get pg maybe i will, i just don't know anymore. But i am totally living my old girl friendly lifestyle, DP is still smoking and drinking daily, so if we got a boy it would be a miricle.

Hey ladies, more spotting now with cramps. I think I'm having early AF. I knew I shouldn't get my hopes up. I didn't test yet...if it subsides tonight and isn't full blown AF, I'll do one in the morning.

POP and Cinss, I don't know what it is about ttc for a while, but it so gets you down, doesn't it? I have a pretty girl friendly diet (well, I am dieting) and you know, I'm not really swaying anymore at all, just doing everything fertility-friendly but that is blue in a way. I have no idea why our cycles can change so much- why we used to get pregs in a heartbeat and now it's so hard. I guess I have a good excuse since I have a new partner and his sperm is no good, but seems like a lot of women have been ttc for a while here. Anyway, I just want to chime in and gripe about it all! We'll get there someday.

Oh 5 I am so so so excited for you! I heard boy for my successful sway at our scan in May '08, I'm keeping FX you have the same joy!

Lola I hope she's not showing up early for you!! It's crummy to have her show up at all and horrid to have an early arrival, LOL.

DH said he was thinking we should try for one with a September birthday since we have no September bdays yet... Which would mean TTC in late Nov or Dec! That was exciting because I was thinking next year before we try. I know I will be really really wanting another by that time. So hopefully that will work.

Im sorry it takes long to get a bfp ladies! I was ttc #4 for almost 2 years! Got 4 m/c while ttc and I was doing the stupid msu the whole time! so not even just regular bd!
Got the first bfp second try but lost it and after that took so long. ( that pregnancy felt just like this)
Im just saying this to show I know how bad is to wait long and hope that you guys get that bfp finally this try!

5- hope you don't take this the wrong way , if it would be just the nub pic ok, but you posted a potty shot and it's a clear boy ! There is a turtle on that pic everyone can see it!!
So I just don't get it why do you always say girl??
I hope they will give you great boy pics so you can post more!

Skrimpy, that is exciting!!! My DH is a September boy too.

Bec, DH actually had an injury from a while ago, no fall, just from wear and tear. They are really like pro athletes as they dance for 6-7 + hours a day, so naturally, they get all sorts of hip, back, knee, and ankle problems. They really age faster in that regard, too. He had a piece of cartilage that tore off his knee (about a pinky finger sized one) that was floating around and causing him pain although he has been dancing and just taking anti-inflammatories and the like.

So yep, I think it is AF. Still slow starting, but it's not spotting so much. I usually start on 14dpo, so I have a 13 day LP. I have a feeling that my progesterone might be low right now for some reason, so I"m going to take my prog supps next month and see if it makes a difference.

AHHHHH, TTC5 I am so excited for tomorrow!!! What time is your scan?

Thanks Flava...I didn't know you ttc for 2 years with MSU! I knew it was a while, but not that long. You are so right, though, it can sometimes take a while for no apparent reason. Come to think of it, I have lots of friends who took a while. Most of them at least 3 months. It's hard when you are used to getting bfps first go round.....I have actually never ttc before as I got pg with the girls when we weren't trying. I figured this would be a piece of cake. Boy, was I wrong!!! Let's keep our chins up, friends. If I can try for 2 years and not lose my mind, you guys can go a few more months....you know it will happen soon!

skrimpy
May 10th, 2012, 12:35 PM
Lola I hope everything goes smoothly for your DH and he's able to heal up quickly.

I know many ladies are greatly helped by progesterone supps, have you talked to your doc about it? If you usually start 14 DPO that sounds like a nice healthy luteal phase. What DPO did you start spotting on this cycle?

Yeah me and POP are pretty close with our cycles, i like having a cycle buddy.

Flava, thank you for reminding me how hard ttc is for some, you put my feet back on the ground, i am so glad that all of your hard work finally paid off after 2 years. I was just hoping to have less than a 3 year age gap between my DD and the next baby, and i am feeling worried because it just keeps getting bigger and bigger each month. I never planned to have a 4 or 5 year age gap, but what will be will be i suppose.

I am excited to hear from 5 too, i cant wait to see those little baby boy pics :)

Flava, I didn't realise it took you so long to conceive either. It does put things into perspective. One of my best friends is going through IVF so I do try to stop and think that I am lucky to actually have the kids I have.

I didn't want a big age gap either Cinss, but mine will be at least 3 years now, and that's if we conceive next cycle.

So, have you all seen the news from 5??!

Think we will skip tonight and try again tomorrow night, then O should be due shortly after. I just don't know if we should stick to every second day or every day in the fertile window? Hobbermittens
May 14th, 2012, 12:45 AM
Cinss, I really regret not DTD more times in the fertile window. I still don
t know for sure when I O'ed; if I did indeed O on CD13 (which I think is more likely), then I am okay with what we did--O-4, O-2, and O. However, FF tried to tell me I O'ed on CD12 (I slept poorly and was awake for about a half an hour before temping, so I really think the temp was off). If I did O in CD 12, that means I only got 2 attempts in. I am still kicking myself for not DTD more times... I don't know for certain that my baby is a girl, but I really feel it is, and right now, frequency of DTD is what I am blaming it on. I am so mad at myself for not DTD every day around O! But 6 months ago, when I started the swaying stuff, the ideas seemed to be that DTD every 2 days was the best plan; now, the wisdom has changed some. If I were you, I would DTD a few days in a row. You don't have to do it for 5 days in a row or anything, but I would do at least 3. Good luck!

Cinss

Thanks Hobber, i am at the stage where i dont care if it is a girl or a boy, i just want to get pg already, so i want to increase my chances of that and not worry about sway timing iykwim. I think i will just go for it then, thanks again :)

I still don't believe frequency sways much, being that we barely had sex and got DS1 and 2 and had a "boy" freqency this time and got a girl. Cniss, I agree that if you want to DTD more then that is fine too....I really think other factors such as diet and environment play a much bigger role in sex selection than how many times you DTD in your fertile window, though they claim that more sperm/semen in general may be conductive towards helping make a boy.

Thanks Hobber, i am at the stage where i dont care if it is a girl or a boy, i just want to get pg already, so i want to increase my chances of that and not worry about sway timing iykwim. I think i will just go for it then, thanks again :)

I would do this if you just want to get pg: Sperm Meets Egg Plan (http://www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm) Called the SMEP Plan (sperm meets egg plan). It's pretty much dtd for 3 days over O and then every other day leading up to keep sperm fresh. I actually think it sways blue, to be honest.

And FWIW, I asked the reproductive urologist what the best frequency is to increase sperm count and health and all- it was kind of a perfect time to ask a perfect person that question, kwim! He said that every other day is optimal for count. He said he wants us to dtd every other day all month long, actually, so DH's sperm are turning over and there is no time for the old ones to go sour. We have not been good about dtd a lot for the past couple months, to be honest, since he's been out of town and had surgery and we had company for a week....etc, etc. May be a reason why his morphology went down the toilet at his last SA. Anyway, I think the SMEP Plan is money if you just want to get pregs.

Cinss
May 14th, 2012, 04:58 PM
Thanks Lola, i am glad you posted that, i think i may have read it ages ago, and we actually have been DTD every second day since AF, so i feel good about that. I might have started a bit early this time, but it is hard to know what day i am going to O because it has been differant each month, fingers crossed O comes earlier rather than later this time. The thing i am having trouble with now is checking CM, i cant tell if it is EW or semen.

sugar - Open up your chart on FF. At the top of the page on the right click "sharing". Then click "get Code". Then under where it says BBCode there are 2 boxes, you will need to hilight all of the text in one of them (either to show a tumbnail like mine, or just the words "my ovulation chart". Once you have hilighted one of them, right click your mouse and select "copy".

Then come back here and you can either paste it into a post, or into your signiture like mine. At the top of this page click "settings" then "edit signiture" and paste then save it in there.

Omg ladies... I was just telling DH that I was expecting AF would have showed up by now since my luteal phases have only been 8-9 days, and that maybe they are lengthening. He asked if a test would show anything and I told him I could try...

I am 11DPO, just POAS with an internet cheapie... Around 5:30 in the evening, and I think there is a second line... DH says he sees it too! Super faint, I can't get a pic of it on the camera. We did play on my O day this cycle, but DH pulled out in plenty of time. Have never had a positive after pull out...! I have also never had a faint line not get darker!!! I am going to test with FMU in the morning if my temp doesn't drop tomorrow morning...

I've used these tests with both of my last pg's and also plenty of negative cycles and have never seen an evap line on one... Might be getting a bean a bit early here!!! Has anyone gotten a positive with non-FMU around 11DPO??

Yeah i saw the dip... It could possibly be implantation, it would be really early for your AF to start wouldnt it? Are you temping at the same time every day? Is it a lot colder today than it was yesterday?

I think your chart is looking good, try not to worry because no chart is ever perfect or text book, there have been ladies getting BFPs when FF has not shown ovulation, it is just a program that can be wrong etc. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Sugar getting up in the night with a LO can def change your temp. Even though this one dipped it's still well above your coverline, esp for 14DPO. I would wait and see what happens :) FX!

skrimpy that is GREAT news. No i have definatly never ever had a faint line on those cheapy tests! I try and try to see something everytime, but ALWAYS stark white BFNs for me. Your totally knocked up! Congratulations :)

Lol Cinss I read your reply out loud to DH and he just laughed and said he's going to start washing our clothes separately! I seriously did not think that our playing would result in anything but I have to admit I'm pretty happy... not too sure about moving while bogged down with morning sickness, but maybe it will make that go faster :p

Skrimpy, this is what my internet cheapie looked like at 10DPO - I had to take it into Photoshop to bump up the contrast in order for it to show up in the picture - does yours look like this?? (I am pg, got a good strong line starting 11DPO with an FRER)

2627

I can't get mine to show as good of a line, but I got a better pic... take a look and tell me what you gals think. I darkened it a little and bumped the contrast, sorry for huge pic lol!

We weren't really swaying since we're not supposed to be TTC yet, but overall pretty boy-friendly :DS:

OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!

You should post your pic on countdowntopregnancy.com (http://www.countdowntopregnancy.com)... people will vote on it and tell you if they think it's positive or not... it's fun to do while you are twiddling your thumbs, waiting to fill your bladder so you can PO-another-S! :D

Anyways, she sent a ton so I can feel free to pee away. Can't wait til morning now, lol! Heading to bed now, I will update tomorrow and upload pics to get obsessive votes on. I'm still floored and kind of shocked but so happy. I hope this little bean sticks... DH said he would be sad if AF shows now, even if we weren't planning to TTC til later this year! Now I have to try and get this house packed and get us moved next month. Hopefully morning sickness will go easy on me this time. I had such a hard pregnancy with Honor, I really want to enjoy this one. Honor and this babe will be 20 months apart I think, haven't had ones this close in awhile!!

I didn't ovulate until day 18 this cycle, really late for me (usually day 12 or 13), but apparently that little egg still worked just fine :p

No official swaying Flava, but I have been eating a HE diet already, and taking a prenatal / fish oil / folic acid. There was no "timing" and I had some EWCM but not tons. But all in all, I think with already eating HE it's a pretty good light weight sway. Been eating lots of potatoes and protein too.

I know it will be a lot harder in a few months when we're waiting to find out gender, but right now I'm just happy to be pg.

No problem, lady. I really don't think timing matters since boys have been conceived in every possible pattern imaginable, but I thought the uro's advice is something worth posting, especially for boy swayers since his rec is for best sperm counts possible. Are you gonna try the SMEP this month?

Cinss-
I got up twice with my oldest daughter but it wasn't really cooler. AF isn't due until next week, I guess I will see if my temp stays down. I have seen other charts where there was a dip but I'm not sure about the degrees.

Hey Sugar, welcome to our thread! I totally agree with Cinss's comments about your chart. It is very hard to tell if you are pregnant or have a true implantation dip, you just gotta wait to see if you are pg and then you can look back and see your 2ww pattern, but you never know. I think temping is great (except when it stresses you out, which it does for me so I don't do it anymore), but it's hard to tell just from your temps, especially when you are up in the night or wake at different times in the morning. We are glad you are here, and good luck this month!

Lola I am so very excited! We were planning to wait but I have really been looking forward to it. I think since things were so hard during pregnancy with Honor, I really wanted a chance to enjoy a pregnancy again. I've been doing so much planning to help make sure I can have a better go this time, and hoping so much we'd get another baby, that I'm just happy.

DH's sperm must have been storming the gates, geez! If anybody wants my menu plan to feed their DH's I'll be happy to supply it!!!! I have been feeding him HE with lots of emphasis on protein and a good amount of red meat, and he's been doing some weight lifting with me. I'm also happy to bottle up our water and send it around :p

And again, I am happy to share excess baby dust, because there appears to be a lot of it floating around my house!

We won't announce this pregnancy until we are in the new house so I have to keep it quiet irl for the next month or so!

Skrimpy, what an awesome surprise! Glad you are happy about it and not freaking about moving. I get so stressed out when we move....it's fun but so much work. I also work a 60 hour a week stressful job, so anything massive outside of regular life overwhelms me at times. You are super fertile, that is for sure. You should post your man diet for everyone when you have time, that's a good idea! Obviously he has very healthy sperm right now. Aw, I am excited for you! Are you going Team Green?

skrimpy
May 15th, 2012, 10:30 AM
Man diet, lol! I will work on posting up an overview of what he eats (all controlled by me, so convenient hehe) because I think it helps. He's always talking about how he managed to never get anyone pg with his stupid choices as a teenager... but now he just has to look at me... but I think nutrition may make a difference, at least it has in so many ways for him health-wise I can't help but think it's connected.

I am working on getting everything ready for the move. I'm a little worried now that we will actually be moving in a month, when morning sickness will be in full swing, but I'm hoping that my good planning now will make it go more smoothly. I'm glad our move is over the summer so we've wrapped up homeschooling for now and I have more free time. It's my writing and websites that will get neglected during all of this, I'm sure!! Of course I'm useless today... can hardly think of anything.

Selling our current house is going to be stressful, I think. We've done some renovation, but it still needs a lot of work. We're moving some things into storage this weekend to open it up and so I can clean next week and hopefully get it listed. I hope we get somebody who sees the potential and that we get a good offer. It's a wonderful location, so that's going for us at least. But things will be super-tight if it doesn't sell quickly. That's what worries me more than the actual move.

Not sure if we'll go Team Green or not... I would kind of like to, but DH does NOT want to. I don't know if I can stand him knowing without me knowing though! We'll have to talk about it again in a few weeks when things have (hopefully) settled down some. I don't really want to deal with GD again and I think being Team Green would be helpful in that regard, but we'll see.

ITA that nutrition has something to do with it. I gave my DH this big ultimatum of sorts yesterday that he better get his ass in gear and really focus on detoxing his body and being the healthiest he can be if we are going to do this IVF thing. I told him that I think he can improve his sperm morphology through NOT putting toxins in his body, taking his vits and supps daily like he's supposed to......he's not a bad guy, but he IS a guy, and an artist at that, so he just goes about life on a colorful little cloud and does whatever he thinks is a good thing to do right then. Seriously, no stress about life at all. Sometimes it pisses me off because I have to do all of the bills, finance, worries, car and home buying, ALL of it or we'd be living in a cardboard box, I swear. Anyway, long tangent there to say that I do agree and would love to see what you have been feeding yours! I've got to have my DH take it seriously or I'm just not doing this IVF thing. To think that just because he wants to drink Coke and smoke cigarettes and eat pizza we have no shot at a natural healthy pregnancy and must spend a buttload of money on IVF. Not happening. I will seriously show him the Man Diet and point out that it helped your DH make gate-stormers!

And hey, all you can do is plan and enlist some help if you need it in the coming weeks. We are actually moving in a month also and I am just going to have to have my mom and MIL come down, and some of DH's buddies help also because he is out of commission with the knee surgery. I know, I was excited to be in the office of a reproductive urologist (and paying him well for it, too) so I could pick his brain!!!! You know what else, he said that as far as vitamins and supps go, the only ones he knows for a fact per studies that help are a good multivitamin and L-Carnitine. He said you can try antioxidants and all sorts of stuff, but it may not have an effect. He said there are studies that prove that men taking the multi and L-Cart all show improvement. Yea, we did. I hope he takes it seriously at this point. I am so going to kill him if he doesn't. This is what happens when you marry a guy at 36 who is used to being a bachelor for that long! He is really super awesome, but he does have those man tendencies to sneak stuff when I'm not around. But he knows this is the deal: at Prague Fertility Clinic, if he has no good sperm for the fertilization, they can turn around and grab a sample out of the "fridge" that matches my specifications and use that. How's that for pressure to shape them boys up???????

Well to be totally honest it was a naughty pull-out and probably why we got pg... I gave DH a hand job several hours before (and he helped me O) but I was still wanting more later that night, lol. I must have definitely been putting off some pheramones that got him raring to go again. So he let me have another go... I had another O then he pulled out and we finished with second hand job, but I'm guessing there were swimmers in there from earlier, despite him using the bathroom a few times.

At least I had a few O's in there LOL

I fantasize about going Green myself when the day comes. Is this going to be your last? Maybe it would be a fun way to complete your family?

Lola, my DH is not good about taking supps, he just won't take a multi or anything. He does take magnesium and potassium b/c the doctor advised them for muscle cramps. But since I cook all of his meals and do all the shopping, I can pretty much control what he eats. He is good about staying away from the junk food and esp sweets at work b/c he knows they will cause inflammation in his joints and he'll be miserable. He's happy to let me handle the shopping, budgeting, etc. too. He just wants me to feed him and love him LOL... Doesn't want to know what goes on behind the scenes!

So he eats only home cooked stuff and wants me to have snacks he can eat. Mostly his snacks are nuts (almonds and pistachios) and cheese. That's what he takes to work. A typical day might look like this (I will do a 2 week menu in its own post later):

Note: he drinks tons of coffee and some black tea (with cream, no sugar) daily

Breakfast : he carries 2 hard boiled eggs and 2 slices of bacon (or small sausage patties) to work and eats those mid-morning when he gets hungry.

Lunch: 2-3 small burger patties with mayo ("slider" sized patties), sautéed onions and peppers, carrot sticks and Greek Yogurt dip, and a mug of salted chicken broth with butter

Snack: Almonds

Supper: Pan-fried chicken breast slices topped with salsa, baked potato, side salad with oil and vinegar dressing, maybe another cup of broth

Snack before bed: Half a 7oz Greek Yogurt with a few frozen strawberries and blueberries on top. He splits the yogurt cup with me; full-fat, plain Greek Yogurt. He almost ALWAYS has a before bed snack, but it varies as to what it is.

Other common main dishes are roast chicken, roast beef, beef stew, homemade chili over home fries topped with cheese... Basically meat and potatoes kind of stuff, but he always eats the salads and side veggies I serve. We don't eat wheat or corn, so it's mostly rice and potatoes for us.

As for moving, we are going to have the kiddos with DH's mom on actual moving day (I'll probably keep Honor with me though)... I am hoping the weather is good for me and I can send the big ones out to play while I try and get the new house set up as quickly as possible! My parents are flying in the week after we move (staying at a hotel, thankfully) so they will be over to help with the kids that week. The big rub is that we probably won't have announced the pregnancy yet at that point... So I'll have to see how I feel and if we want to tell. Ppl don't get as excited as we do about #6 kwim?

I went Team Green with my first and I have never regretted it. Even though I was hoping for a boy, I fell so in love with her as soon as she was in my arms. It was a great pregnancy and great birth and such a sweet girl! I have found out with all the others, though with two of them we didn't tell anyone else the gender. If we do find out, that's probably what we'll do again - I hate the comments. Of course I'll tell YOU GALS... But nobody irl (so watch it Facebook buddies!).

I'm not sure if this one will be our last or not. I knew for sure we wanted to round out at 6, but I never really feel "done" after babies and always start wishing for another around a year to eighteen months. In the end I suppose it's up to DH or I'll probably happily keep having them. I really enjoy them!

If this month doesn't work out i will definatly try the SME method next month, i probably should have waited to DTD when i got a +opk but i usually O the day of the +, i thought sperm lived longer, i will take robitussum next month too if we are still trying. Has anyone done the TBM? I was going to give it a shot this time but i am unsure how to do it, would you actually insert the syringe/pipette or whatever into the cervix, or just into the vaggi? I would think DTD naturally would be the same as inserting it into the vaggi, so if it is into the cervix, has anyone tried that or would that be a bad idea? remember the goal is to get preggers, not swaying.

Cinss I think you just insert into the vag up beside the cervix. I think trying to put something in could possibly damage and at the very least may cause cramping. IMO deep penetration, esp if your legs are up and pulled back so he can get really deep, is about the same as TBM. I think the main advantage is being able to mix the semen with something of the pH you want. I could be wrong though...

I think the robitussin or guafenesin (sp?) is a good idea. I do think sperm can usually live a few days, so if your OPK is looking pretty close to positive it's okay. But if you know that you usually O on the + day, maybe it's good to wait for that, esp with the fertile fluid boost from the supps.
