Hi, Of course I'd like to know boy or girl, BUT in particular, I'd like to know whether what I'm pointing to in this pic IS a nub, the bub was playing around a LOT, the legs were almost constantly crossed, and hips twisted, and the cord was wrapped around the shins and thighs , so this is a very tricky one..

JoannaK
May 7th, 2012, 02:42 AM
Any other guesses from anyone would be appreciated, if they don't think it's the nub, let me know- and skull theory guesses would be great too

Cinss
May 7th, 2012, 07:23 PM
I think that is the nub, id say boy.

Gentle
May 8th, 2012, 06:24 PM
Only a newbie guesser (so no idea if it really is the nub!) and Cinss has thrown me completely! Looking at the angle, I'd have thought girl. Where am I going wrong Cinss?

I am going to guess GIRL but it is a very hard pic to guess on...

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 07:30 PM
Gentle, you are NOT going wrong! LOL. I know this is boy#5 for me, I'm just holding on to one more day of thinking it could actually be a girl (I have another scan tomorrow). I've been very down and fear GD is just around the corner :(

pinkin2011
May 8th, 2012, 07:37 PM
JoannaK What actually makes you think its a boy? I am not so sure it is.

Would you mind please having a look at my 12w1day pics.. I feel mine may be a boy .. But I dont have a clear nub shot

Butterfly Spirit
May 8th, 2012, 07:41 PM
That might be the cord! Uhm, I'm just not too sure to even guess yet.

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 07:41 PM
I know it's a boy because I've had about 15 people over on in-gender tell me it's a boy :( Plus, a woman on in-gender paused a section of my scan video and showed me, at first I didn't believe her, but I saw another boy scan on youtube and the sonographer paused it and pointed right at something that was in the same position as mine, same colour, same shape, same size etc- so I'm pretty sure this is no girl

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 07:43 PM
That might be the cord! Uhm, I'm just not too sure to even guess yet.

Yeah I really hope it is the cord, because the one thing I do know for sure was that the cord was wrapped around at least one leg for most of the scan, so it was going up right between the legs and to the belly. But again, it looks exactly the same as another scan I saw on youtube, and that was a boy :(

Dont loose hope yet!! Some of our scans are so hard to read! esp when our babies move alot!

May 8th, 2012, 07:47 PM
In the ultrasound section I have some pics ,I will write a post and should come up

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 07:47 PM
Sorry found them. Will post now. Coldwater I'd really like it if you could take a look at my scan, and I'd appreciate any other guesses, including skull theory

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 08:03 PM
I'm just going to add another photo, I know potty shots at this stage are really unreliable, but we got a second long shot where the legs are competely open and you can see through completely- the baby's head is on the left, he/she is laying sideways facing the wand- and the legs are hanging down over the right, so the thing in the middle is between the legs. .Any thoughts? I just thought if it was 100% boy wouldn't you see something in between?

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 08:08 PM
And a close up.... I've also flipped the photo so it looks like bub is sitting up, head up top, zoomed in on the two legs

pinkin2011
May 8th, 2012, 08:29 PM
I know how you are feeling!! its just HORRIBLE!

pinkin2011
May 8th, 2012, 08:34 PM
To me I would think If it was a boy You would see something! But I am no expert! You have hope there !! I cant wait to hear !! Did you sway?
If you end up having a boy Mine must be a boy too!

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 08:40 PM
That's definitely my thinking! My "revelations" since going down the path of insanity are these: Girls seem to be much easier to "see" in scans (which is funny, you'd think it'd be the other way around, because boys have clear "bits" you can see), but boys seem to be the ones that twist and turn and carry on, whereas girls just sit there and that makes it a lot easier to see. It will be very interesting to see if one of us gets girl and the other boy, or both boys, or , SOMEHOW, both girls!!! (what are the odds!!!!!). No real "swaying" done, purely because PREVIOUSLY I had thought that it just didn't do anything, however I'm seriously rethinking that decision now! However, I will say, had we done a serious sway and still ended up with a boy, I think I'd struggle a lot more, than if I do find out it's a boy tomorrow after no swaying- if that makes sense? I'll keep you updated as soon as I know.... I would just KILL for ColdWater to look at this "between legs" photo, because it might be possible to not see something and it's still a boy, I just want to know for sure you know? If it's a boy, it's a boy, but there's so much I want to understand, hence my desperate cries for a TECH!!! lol

pinkin2011
May 8th, 2012, 09:01 PM
Do you have other pics? Or did the girls from ingender guess off the pics your showing here?

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 09:04 PM
I only just uploaded the pics of between the legs onto in-gender now. Before that, they all mostly guessed off the video, and from there, I didn't bother to upload the between legs photos until now. The video is here if you wanted to take a look? An experienced person said at 7:24, there is a clear boy nub, which, sadly, looks exactly the same as another video I saw of a boy, where the tech paused it and pointed straight at this nub looking thing... baby2 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toPg7UdWhEY&feature=youtu.be)

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 09:07 PM
And here's the thing- if you see at 7:24, it does look REALLY obvious that it's a boy, you can spot it a mile away (IF it's the nub, which I'm about 80% sure it is), but why can you CLEARLY not see anything between the legs???

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 09:08 PM
And one more thing, the lady doing the scan was very experienced, I like her a lot- I didn't directly ask her to tell us the gender, but I think she knew we wanted to know. And at 7:24, if that is the nub, that's pretty bloody obvious, so why didn't she say anything???

pinkin2011
May 8th, 2012, 09:10 PM
I will have a look at it now.. Do you have the pic handy the one that looks the same as my top one?

pinkin2011
May 8th, 2012, 09:17 PM
Your baby had its legs spread apart and I couldnt see anything there between them?? I did see a nub later on but It didnt look like it was really angled! I really dont know! I so hope you hear girl tomorrow!!

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 09:18 PM
Here it is- not exactly the same but it's in the same position as yours, yours is a lot brighter but I think that's because mine is a crappy photo and not very bright- I think, THINK , both of these things in our pics are the cords, but you can see how both our bubs have their legs all twisted up?

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 09:19 PM
Your baby had its legs spread apart and I couldnt see anything there between them?? I did see a nub later on but It didnt look like it was really angled! I really dont know! I so hope you hear girl tomorrow!!

What do you think at 7:24? Would you say that's a nub pointing up? Because it just seems SO BIG, particularly when you can't see ANYTHING at all between the legs early on....

pinkin2011
May 8th, 2012, 09:20 PM
YES I see it! hmmm I am so curious and so worried. But it is what it is.. I am pretty bummed..
All of that on your pic could be the cord!

pinkin2011
May 8th, 2012, 09:21 PM
I think that is cord!
I could not see a thing between the legs when they were apart!

JoannaK
May 8th, 2012, 09:44 PM
Agreed. But whyyyyyy does that possible cord look SO MUCH like the other person's video on youtube of her boy :( :( :(. And again, if it was so obvious, why didn't the tech point it out????!! God this is so hard. I keep going in waves of thinking "ok, another boy, that's good, hes healthy, thats good", to the extreme opposite of "maybe this ISN'T a boy, maybe it might just be possible for me to carry girls...."... Talk about a rollercoaster ride :(

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 01:02 AM
I have no idea!!! You still have a 50 / 50 chance in my eyes.. I hope thats a girl!!

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 01:03 AM
I see my ob on monday I will be 15 weeks and 2 days.. She will prob do a quick ultrasound and I am woundering if i ask her would she look between the legs.. Not sure if I should ask

JoannaK
May 9th, 2012, 01:17 AM
WHAT!!!!! I'd be telling that person you won't be leaving until you know!!!! Holla woman!! hehe

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 01:49 AM
Ha ha , But could I even ask her?? She may not want to??

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 01:56 AM
What time is your scan tomorrow?

JoannaK
May 9th, 2012, 02:05 AM
What time is your scan tomorrow?

2 pm tomorrow, Aussie time. And don't be shy about asking, that's their job- and if possible, ask for as many pics as possible. Send some prayers my way!!

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 02:13 AM
Oh I will and I am!!
I am in melb.. So I will be thinking of you at 2 pm!
I have been having a bit of low pain so I hope she does do a scan, she has one in her room next to the bed so you would think she would do one hey?

JoannaK
May 9th, 2012, 02:23 AM
Oh cool, I'm in Brissie. Yeah my ob has a machine in a room next to his office, and that's where he does all his scans, and if you're having pain, she'll definitely do one- if against all odds, she doesn't- go to your GP and get a referral for just a normal xray/ultrasound place and get one done on your own, but she'll definitely do one. And at 15 weeks, it will be really accurate. Are you having cramping etc? Because I know I've been getting it a fair bit lately, the common factor in my case is it usually happens when I'm tired- not sure if it's similar for you? But I'm telling you.... I have no idea how I'm going to drive home if I hear GIRL... I think I'm just going to tell myself there's no chance, despite there being NOTHING BETWEEN THE LEGS!!!! lol... Just telling myself Boy boy boy boy boy... Girls don't exist.. lol

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 02:37 AM
Are you going on your own???
My pain gets me when i sneeze or stand up, Not all the time but the cramps are that bad that i cant stand up properly or even move feels like i will rip in half!
I may be going for my scan by myself!, Its going to be very hard on my own

JoannaK
May 9th, 2012, 02:43 AM
That sounds awful :S (the pain) But if there's no bleeding, that's a great sign that bub is fine, even if you might be ripping in half lol! With my last pregnancy, I took codeine (I can't remember the brand name, panadeine maybe?) and surprisingly it's still available over the counter (one of the few bloody things left that you can get over the counter!) And I took that with my back pain last pregnancy and it worked really well, might be something to try if the pain gets really bad?
With my scan, I WANT to go on my own lol- mostly because if I we find out it's a boy, I'd rather be alone when I get a bit disappointed and possibly cranky lol. And also because we have a very active and loud 13 month old boy, and I don't want him distracting my OB from finding out this bub's gender LOL.. But yet another spanner in the works is that our car has to be serviced tomorrow morning and picked up right after the scan, and our place is an hour away from my ob, so if I go on my own, I'm going to have to fly back home in the hire car so DH can go and pick up the car- I don't think it will be a good idea for me to go and pick up a car from a workshop predominantly run by males after finding out I'm having a 5th male LOL!!!!! I'd rip them in half!

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 05:07 AM
I think id rather go and find out on my own to , My hubby doesnt really care either way and I will be all upset and I feel id be better by myself.....
Oh no about the car what a total pain that is! More so if your not in a flash mood I just hope it all goes well for you! I bet you are so nervous tonight! How do you think you will sleep? When I think about my scan I get sick to my stomach and I still have 5 weeks to go! I will be a wreck!!!!

JoannaK
May 9th, 2012, 05:52 AM
I have NO idea how I'm going to sleep tonight lol. But it won't be abnormal- I have had the worst insomnia lately (have had that before in other pregnancies too grrr). I just STILL can't get over this between legs shot... :( And the net has NOTHING, I've gone through 64 PAGES of google images and I found maybe one or two of the front on, baby facing you, shot- can you believe?! And I found one that looked IDENTICAL, and of course the woman didn't update!!! going crazy here!!!!!!

JoannaK
May 9th, 2012, 05:54 AM
Don't you have a scan on Monday though?

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 06:06 AM
I really know how your feeling...

Yeah well seeing my ob and i HOPE she offers me a scan! If i do have one will prob be upset after it! But atleast I will know hey

JoannaK
May 9th, 2012, 06:13 AM
Yeah definitely- knowledge is power, as they say. I know I'll just feel more relieved knowing for sure, because at least you KNOW something, hey? I may not be too happy, but at least I'll know- that's why you should really push to have it done- I can imagine it would be much better than going 5 weeks of having no idea! But I can also imagine the feeling of wanting to live in sweet denial! The thing is, there are really no gender clues in your pics whatsoever (and you had a really qualified tech back you up on that- being Coldwater), whereas I've had about 15 people say boy for me, and I've seen where they've pointed it out and it is just boy all over- so I think you definitely have a greater chance than me at the girl result!

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 07:12 AM
hmmm I am not so sure even tho coldwater said could be a girl she did say maybe boy?? I am just not sure.. I want to try and make myself believe its a boy you know what i mean? Even if I did believe it , it will be still hard to hear!

I still think you have hope and I really cant wait to hear your news tomorrow!
I know about the not sleeping thing tho mine is due to peeing all night and when i go to the loo i start thinking about things then take ages to get to sleep!

JoannaK
May 9th, 2012, 07:26 AM
Yeah it's awful. Especially when you have a husband next to you that snores like a wild bore and falls asleep in approximately 3.2 seconds..... Very annoying....

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 07:42 AM
ha ha yeah well mine seems to fall asleep in the 3.2 seconds doesnt really snore but twitches that bad i nearly get bounced out of bed

JoannaK
May 9th, 2012, 07:51 AM
LOL! You poor thing. I've given myself a ban on watching my scan for the 50,000th time. If you want to watch it, you're more than welcome!!!! lol- I'm going to try to sleep now- keyword: TRY! Scan is here baby2 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toPg7UdWhEY)
I think the between legs shot is around 53 seconds in, you have to pause it really quickly though- and at 7:24 is where everyone on ingender says they can see boy, and it's really obvious, but if you look closely, you notice it disappear behind a leg or something, and then reappear- I was not aware penises could do this...

Butterfly Spirit
May 9th, 2012, 07:52 AM
Mine falls asleep REALLY fast too lmao. I think he is part narcoleptic! And almost always after BDing. ;)

Good Luck today JoannaK!! Thinking of you!

JoannaK
May 9th, 2012, 05:56 PM
Thanks pinkin...Very much expecting to hear boy, so I'm just trying to get into that mindset now.. Waiting4daisy has been chatting to me on ingender, and she is lovely, she told me that maybe the reason for another boy is that he was sent by his brother (who we lost at 20 weeks in November last year).. And thinking about it that way is definitely helping me cope

pinkin2011
May 9th, 2012, 05:58 PM
As it would too, That is a great way to think of it and could very well be true! WEll if you are having a boy mine MUST be a boy too! My pic is pretty much the same as yours!

JoannaK

No it's a front on view, it's happening as he/she is turning over. Trust me, I've seem my video at least 20 times now. There's clearly no spine shown, and the belly button and stomach is very visible

JoannaK
May 10th, 2012, 01:17 AM
Yep 80 % sure and I know this tech, he guessed my boy as a boy at 11 WEEKS. And his receptionist said in the 4 years she's been there he's never been wrong, so he's very very good. And he's not the type that gives you a prediction unless he's very sure. Next scan on the 15th of June! I can keep on decorating the nursery!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHA thanks pinkin, I had DH and DS with me do yes the hire car was left in one piece, probably because I wasn't driving it LOL. And ttc5, have you had a lot of girl guesses for your scan, is that why you seem tentative about it? Or do you just not believe it? Because that is ALL BOY!!! I can imagine you might feel that you just can't believe it after multiple bubs of the opposite gender. I honestly don't think I'd believe this bub was a girl even if she was holding a giant sign saying "I'm a girl" LOL!!!
I definitely got swayed though by all the boy guesses, as the other lady said here, you just become so swayed by what others think

JoannaK

You have EVERY chance of a girl- I mean look at me, I had literally 10 people on in gender say this was a boy, including a person who is apparently so experienced (cough cough giggle giggle) and see what happened to me?! And this was guessed from a pretty obvious boy nub- yours really has no nub clues at all, so you just don't know...

I just can't believe it lol. Ingender all boy guesses too!

Oh no we dont know the gender yet, but yep we will tell our girls.

Have you told your boys J?

JoannaK
May 10th, 2012, 03:12 AM
I have told them!!! In fact Matty, my oldest (he's 4), has been ADAMANT from the start that this is a girl- whenever I'd ask him "is there a boy baby or a girl baby in mummy's tummy?" he'd say "girl baby!" without any hesitation. So there you go ladies, forget the 10 + boy guesses, stick to a 4 year old's opinion!!!!

JoannaK
May 10th, 2012, 03:13 AM
And pinkin, if you don't think your OB (will it be an OB doing it, or a tech?) will look between the legs, go somewhere else, just make sure you have a referral from your normal GP, and get it done there- but at 15 weeks, you have a MUCH better chance at finding at, than at the 12-13 week NT scan :)

IF it is a boy, I think they will get along really well- my first two boys are the closest out of all the boys, it's a really special bond- and the way I think of it is, the more boys you have, if you do get your girl, she'll be REALLY protected by big brothers then! This girl is going to be the most protected in town lol

I felt girl from conception and I felt strong boy with my ds.... BUT is it because 7 psychics have said I am having a girl now and a boy next?? They have all said a total of 3 kids boy girl boy all in same order. I saw a psychic the other days and she said I am having a girl and she is 80 to 90 percent right and I will have another boy so Is it just from what these people are saying that make me think its a girl?? This is what happened to me- I have NEVER had these "gut feelings" you hear about, you know? You know how you hear about people who say "i just knew"- I used to think "pfft yeah right". Because I have NEVER had that happen to me, until now- it was only until THIS pregnancy that I just felt deep down that this was a girl. And that got really crushed when I had all the boy guesses, but there was just something in me that couldn't let it go, so if you feel that, I would really trust it :) There's so much more to this world that goes on that medicine/science can't explain, so really listen to that gut feeling... Oh and also, the whole HCG being higher is TRUE- with my son, at 12 weeks, my HCG (in funny weird units) was 42 iu/l-- this time, exact same stage 12 weeks: hcg: 82 IU/L, literally DOUBLE... and also, my placenta was laying on the left, which is meant to indicate girl, the accuracy is meant to be about 97 %. If you have a picture of an early scan (between 6 and 9 weeks) and you see bub laying towards the right, it's almost always a girl (the ultrasound is flipped/mirror image in a transvaginal scans, the ones they do really early on).So I do think there's some truth to all that- because I looked back at my boys early scans, and they were all laying on the left (which would be the right side when you flip it)

Oh god, I remember the drug path LOL at one point I was on vitex, red clover, red raspberry, royal egg, fertilaid- you name it, I was on it lol. Out of all of those things, red clover was definitely the most effective for me, that and Pre-Seed- I got the BFP on the first month of using the Pre-Seed, magic stuff!!

Yes sadly, I'm one of the ones who get early BFPs and still have boys LOL. I got this BFP at 9 dpo as well, and my son was exactly the same, so I don't think there's a lot of truth in the pregnancy tests- but the HCG is definitely one to look for- and sorry Butterfly Spirit, my comment was muddled and confusing, higher HCG is meant to indicate girl, and seems to be quite true, for me anyway. Also, I'm 24. I got in early lol. But after the loss of our boy last year, I became so paranoid that I couldn't become pregnant again and it did take us 3 months (which after reading so many other poor people's stories, is RIDICULOUSLY fast). I don't know how people do it, how YOU do it, trying for so many months! I have a lot of respect for people with that level of commitment, very admirable

Yeah, I wanted Mary because she was one of my closest friends- well adult friends! She was my mother's close friend (How those two were friends I'll never know, because my mother isn't one for being family oriented). Whereas Mary had 5 girls and 1 boy (I am good friends with her daughter who's the same age as me), she always understood me, when everyone else (including my family, sadly didn't)- and with having so many children, the house was always a buzz, and I just always felt so cared for and happy in that house- I spent more time there than my own house. Anyway when I was 13, she passed away from bone cancer, when she was 47. So I'd love to be able to preserve her memory by passing her name down. And Claire because that was the name of my grandmother who passed away in 2006 of cancer as well- and again, the most beautiful person I've ever known, the only person in the family who ever defended me, and understood me etc, just a very calm, beautiful woman- and how's this for irony? Nan's birthday was the 3rd of november. I found out last year on the 3rd of november that my baby boy had triploidy, and we lost him on the 9th of november. this time, my c section will be on the 6th of november- i wanted to make it earlier, closer to nan's birthday , but I don't want the bub coming too early... So many ironies involved here! So again, I'd love to be able to throw a "claire" in there too !
