Hi ladies,
I thought I would jump on this thread too. I have been following Atomic's personalized plan for the last couple of months and we will make our first attempt this month (towards the end of November). I am very excited and nervous at the same time. But it would be a great Christmas present to get a BFP!
Good luck everyone

Ok, so I've been so nervous about everything being ok with this pregnancy because I miscarried in June that I haven't worried about gender too much yet. I have had some gut feelings I'm having a boy, but then a few nights ago I had a dream I was having twin girls? :nails: LOL. Well I know there's just one, but now the dream is making me think I'm having another girl. I honestly just want a healthy baby above all, but I'll be interested to see! I have my NT scan in less than 2 weeks and I'm thinking of booking a private gender scan at 15 weeks if all is well!
I felt the same way as soon as I got my BFP, my first thought was it was a boy and then as time went on I was like no way am I going to have a boy I will end up with a girl. So you are definitely not alone in your feelings. Can't wait to see your nub pics.

Hello November thread. Looks like I'll be joining you (almost).
My cycle was 27 days to the day before starting diet and sups a couple weeks ago but AF turned up on day 25 which is unheard of!
Has this happened to anyone else? Does this affect my chances in anyway and do you think I am maybe overdoing something?
Looks like I will probably O very early in December (under a Leo moon which is male if that has anything to do with anything...)
Really hope we all have a wicked blue streak of successes!!

Before I started swaying I had 28 day cycles religiously, as soon as I started swaying it was all over the place, one month 25 then 27 to 28 and 29. I think TTC and swaying and taking all the supps messed with my cycle a little bit, but I still got a boy so I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Hi Elements,
This is what I had yesterday:
Breakfast: cereal (all natural with oats, dried fruit, nuts and seeds) with full fat milk and a glass of orange juice
Snack (after I have got the kids ready for the day): banana and a handful of nuts with V8 Tropical juice + gelatin
Mid-morning snack: poached egg on toast with a glass of water
Lunch: beef patty with fried potatoes and a glass of water followed by strawberries and a kiwifruit with nuts
Snack: V8 vegetable juice (tomato) with a handful of nuts
Snack: apple with a handful of nuts and a coconut water
Dinner: Steak, broccoli cheese, corn, potatoes (I always save some potatoes from dinner to use for lunch the following day).
Snack before bed: cereal with full fat milk
I also try and drink lemon water during the day.
Seems like a lot once you write it all out! But I try and eat every couple of hours. My girls eat this often as well so I try and make certain that I eat with them.
I hope this helps!

Hi Elements and Cass,
I've had lemon water, mixed grain cereal and green tea
An hour or so later had fresh dates and V8 tomato with maca, supps and boiled egg.
Mid morning had a banana, dried apricots and salted nuts.
Lunch had turkey breast, avocado, tomato, whole egg mayo and IB lettuce on w'grain. Juice of blended V8 tropical and fresh Kale and few bits of dark chocolate with roast almonds.
Will have green tea and a fruit platter with some olives and nuts at 3pm with the kids (maybe some sardines in tomato sauce mashed on some crackers too).
Dinner tonight is taco's.
Also went to the gym and drank a litre of water - yippee
Seriously, how do you guys do cereal before bed??????
Maybe I need to eat a smaller dinner.....

Elements i struggled with volume too, but really you dont have to eat heaps, it just has to be healthy, and with in the protein + carbs guidelines. You can get most of your vegies and fruits down as a juice.

luvalittleman I used to eat larger meals but now on the HE diet, I don't eat as much for lunch or dinner. Sometimes it is a struggle to eat something before bed and I hate feeling full when I go to sleep. Some days I only manage half a cup of cereal but most days I try and eat a full cup of cereal before bed (I eat it out of a cup :).
I also drink green tea and enjoy having a piece or two of dark chocolate every day. I used to eat a lot of sweets to get by during the day so this diet has been a massive change for me!

November 6th, 2012, 01:30 AM
I used to eat very little Cass and same old thing most days. The biggest thing for me is the red meat and potatoes adn all the fruit.
Cinss, do you know where you can buy preseed in OZ?
Cinss
November 6th, 2012, 01:39 AM
You can check the preseed website for local stockists, you may be lucky to have a chemist near by that has some, i wasn't though and had to get mine off ebay.

Speaking of cycles messing up, mine are too! I always had about a 32 day cycle and would o on cd20 but ever since i added the supps my cycle is all wonky! I have charted for years but my cycle was so predictable that i wouldn't needed too. Now since i started supps in august my o day is earlier and my cm is not the same. I had a pretty clear temp rise this morning and it is only cd15! And i am not taking epo, i was in august and saw how messed up that cycle was so i stopped taking it. I am only taking a prenatal, fish oil, b complex, and extra folic acid.

Hey, ladies. I was on here a year or so ago, but then decided not to try for our third. We've since decided to give it one more try...so here I am again, going to try to sway. We have two DD's right now 5 and 2 1/2 and are dreaming of a son to complete our family. We have always wanted to have a boy and always pictured a boy in the family. I have bought all the supplements and am awaiting my sway plan to officially get started. I have been adding salt to my diet as I never put salt on anything before and have been trying to eat more balanced meals. I do have a question...if I start my sway this weekend, do you think that an attempt in December is too soon?

Awww, thanks for thinking of me. That made me feel so loved!!!
I'm freaking out a lot!:worry:
I had lots of cramping/aching yesterday and a really strong sense of smell. Normally I have almost no sense of smell except when I have really high estrogen. Yesterday evening I had lots of ewcm but no +opk! I tried the opk again this morning around 4am following the directions exactly, first morning urine w/at least 4hrs of build-up and still no +opk!!!
HOWEVER, I got negative pregnancy tests with both DD2 and DD3 when I was around 5-6 weeks prego. Tests at home and at the Doctors office were negative when I KNEW i was prego so I am thinking my urine tests aren't so accurate.
We DTD this morning using pre-seed and I kept my hips propped up for 30min and then slept for another 30min. I'll keep at it with using the ewcm and secondary signs for ovulation...not sure what else to do. I think we will DTD on Thursday morning or Wednesday night if I still have EWCM and no big change....

6 weeks on the diet would be the minimum i would be comfortable with, if you could hold off until Jan that would be better, then you dont have to worry so much about indulging a little over xmas and new year.

You get applicators with them so you can put up to 2ml in before sex, i dont think you need that much, you just want to have some up there infront of the cervix to help the swimmers in. Or you can just apply it like you would normal lube :) haha humping it all out was not a problem for me as DP wouldnt really last long enough for that, but yes if you get dry during you can definatly reapply :)

Oh Elements, that's too funny
I actually don't know the answer for sure but I'd say you just chuck a bit in and a bit around the outside (after having an O to increase what you've got yourself) and go for it....
Any more experienced people, please feel free to give more specific advice if I'm wrong.
On another note, I think I just O'd on day 9 after AF!!! My last cycle came down from 27 days to 25 and this one (if Follicular stage or whatever its called is 14 days) should have me ovulating on the 29th November which, I kid you not, is a FULL MOON!! And a Gemini moon phase to boot. That would make me feel a lot better about the fact my CM ph id 4.5...sigh. Lemon water, where are you going????

Luvalittleman, are you taking any fish oil at all? or any other oils? they should help with CM, if not the robitusen is good for attempt time:agree: With my last sway I had Zero CM but took the robitusen at attempt time and it loosened up what was there, helping to my little fella:)
Anchor, welcome to the thread:) I'm glad that AF is here:agree: Its horrible the 1st cycle after m/c, it just becomes a waiting game for normal to return doesn't it, but now you are back on track!! are you attempting this month??!!
AFM, I am on CD 30 of a possible 31 day cycle (1st possible proper cycle due to b/f) and I am pretty sure that I had no signs of ov at all this cycle (yet?) I am actually pretty pleased about this as I was in 2 minds about attempting this month, tbh, there are definitely things for my sway that I should be doing better!!! So I have upped my game and will be more happy about next month being a real shot:agree: I am pleased to say that I am half way through my xmas shopping! which was one of my main reasons to not be pregnant, but with this well under way I am more happy in general:)

Anchor, welcome to the thread:) I'm glad that AF is here:agree: Its horrible the 1st cycle after m/c, it just becomes a waiting game for normal to return doesn't it, but now you are back on track!! are you attempting this month??!!
Yes, I'm going to give it a run this month. I've been doing the "boosting egg quality" supps, HE diet (more like Healthy Everything diet) and I'm ready to go. :fx:

Elements, there's nothing wrong with being honest about wanting a specific gender and it's their bad for thinking any of us wouldn't love and cherish any baby we conceived. It's a dumb, self righteous thing for someone to say. I admit I cried when I found out my third baby was going to be a girl but she is a truly beautiful and funny child who adds so much laughter to our family and I'm so very glad for her joining our family.
I also love hanging out on this site. I don't feel quite so frightened about my impending attempt!

My lips have been very dry too and I was taking EPO. BUT I live in a hot dry place so I just attributed it to that. I often have dry cracked lips in the fall and winter because their isn't as much moisture in the air and we usually live where its humid in the summer.
EPO can be taking AF-O so you are good to keep taking it until O.

Elements, if you post what you are doing, taking and eating then we can have a quick review for you:)
Okay here goes.
My supplements are Folic acid, Fermented cod liver oil capsules, Zinc and a vit d3 capsul. (can post amounts if needed)
Breakfast is one of these things -
A gluten free cereal with added almonds and pumpkin seeds with either fruit and juice on top or banana and milk ontop.
Sometimes i will have a green tea depending on how much time I have.
Lunch is:
Tortilla wrap with lettuce, tomatoes, capsican, mayo, a form of meat (chicken or beef pieces) salt and pepper. and avocado and asparagus a few times a week if its available at the shop.
Tea is:
Usually something easy (has to meet my daughters dietry requirements) like mashed potatoes, green beans and a piece of chicken/sausages
Snackes have been:
Almonds and cashews,
banana berry smoothies,
Freshly squeezed Apple, celery, parsey, carrots and lemon juice
and boiled eggs.
I just don't feel like I'm eating enough - But im just Not hungry!
This last week DH has started taking flax-seed oil capsules and Vit d3. We are BDing ever 2 days and we have just got some pre-seed aswell.
For my exercise I walk at least 5km a night, minumim of 4x a week. and if i think about it i drop and do 10 pushups.
thats all I can think of.

Adia may I ask how long you have been taking EPO? Has it delayed O or made O late in your experience?
I don't know if it has delayed O...I am a terrible mess actually....I have been taking EPO for a while now. I started this whole sway with A-gender and they suggested using BCP to align my cycle for the boy friendly dates (not such a good idea on Gender dreaming...). So I took BCP for 15 days in October and used EPO and flaxseed for that whole time not stopping for about 2 months. I wouldn't pattern yourself after me if I were you!!
I do think taking EPO is better only from AF-O as suggested on Gender Dreaming.
FWIW, I used to take EPO a lot after I had DD3 for horrible PMS. I think it was related to a few other physical problems but it did help that. HTH!!

I was making home made saussage rolls packed with veggies, at least once or twice a week, i dont think i would ever get sick of them, i got over stir frys pretty quick, and if i never see another kangaroo saussage in my life that will be just fine. This is major tmi but dh got poison ivy on his manbits, he was getting rid of brush on our property a few weeks ago, so we haven't been able to dtd because of that. Well it is finally almost cleared up so we were able to last night, and i am glad we did because of that temp rise. And i am not taking epo, i was in august and saw how messed up that cycle was so i stopped taking it. I am only taking a prenatal, fish oil, b complex, and extra folic acid.

SO FRUSTRATING. I'm on CD 9 and we DTD last night and it occurred to me that it had been almost 2 weeks since DH had "released". So I should have made him release outside, IYKWIM...now I'm worried that all those black licorice jelly beans are in there and my whole sway is about getting pg with healthy egg/sperm. And to make it worse, looks like my cycle is a little out of whack (had a m/c at 12 weeks last month) and I might be O'ing early (I usually O on CD12). Aaaaaaaargh.

Yes, it is expensive to be healthy! It cost me $6.95 for 1 litre of coconut water!! Didn't ask how much the 2 bottles of alkaline water were, I probably wouldn't have bought them.
Lucky I have a great co-op 10 minutes away that stocks all these things but like you say, it really does all add up when you factor in the sups as well (which it appears I am taking A LOT of).
It will so be worth it if we get a little boy though :babym:

Vaguely but it is really different. It's actuallly not super yummy and some brands are downright gross, it's just got so much potassium in it!!
Personally, I would wait until I stopped losing weight, but it's your call to make, of course!

Not sure what a blitz is but coconut water and wheatgrass are both great for a blue sway!!
They're REALLY expensive so if you just drank them for 1 week coming into O and like 1-2 days after, it may help without breaking the bank.

So I THOUGHT I'd O'd early this month, my microscope showed ferning on CD10, but I had zero EWCM which is rare for me. So I blamed it on the l-arginine and thought I would drop it. No, I've had zero luck with OPKs...one positive test from about 200. That was when I swaying for my DS, and when I got pg with him (after 4 OPKs clearly said I was NOT ovulating) I gave up on them. Hi Anchor,
What brand of OPK's are you using. I ordered some cheap ones that were on offer when I was ordering the preseed. These were supposed to have been tested and found to be as accurate as the leading brand. But I had no sucess with them. The test line never got darker then the control line. I had myself stressed out that I wasn't ovulating even though my body was telling me that I was. Regular cycles, the day after EWCM and O cramps stopped my libedo would drop and my boobs would get mild tingling. On my 3rd month I decided to try the clearblue digital OPK just to see if anything would come up on that plus it took the guess work out being a smiling face or blank. I didn't even know I had been stressed until I got the smiling face and I just felt so relieved. Low and behold 2 weeks later my BFP.
So what I am saying is the stress of not getting a +OPK could be working against you too.

Hi Anchor.
Just wanted to write to you and say I understand what you are feeling.
I had a miscarriage between DD1 and DD2 and had an overwhelming feeling to be pregnant again straight away. My doctor recommended I skip a cycle before trying to let my hormones rebalance which I didn't want to do. I did however and then fell pregnant the following month and DD2 is snow starting school next year.
If it doesn't happen this month (fingers crossed it does though) then you can try next cycle and you may end up with a lovely Libran baby (I have had two and they are divine...

Hey Afy,
I'm waiting for my AF to arrive (fingers crossed for tomorrow) and then I'm attempting this next cycle :nails:
Actually, I'm getting sooooo nervous.
I am doing the following in the next two weeks :
Lots of v8 with gelatin and maca.
Lots of alkaline water with lemon (you can make your own alkaline water by buying spring water from the supermarket and adding a little COT and BSD to it to bring up the PH to about 8.5). I buy 10 litres and add it in and drink it all week.
Fresh juices in between and a big glass of coconut water before bed.
Diet HE. Upping the fruit/veg/meat/bananas/potatoes/tomatoes. Have put on 3kg in the last month through eating lots of good healthy, hearty food and have been conscious of EVERY SINGLE thing i eat.
Am taking maximum doses of :
Fish oil
Wheatgrass caps
Vit D
Royal Jelly
Folic Acid 2500
Bulgarian Tribulus
Have ordered the pre-seed.
Have just bought robitussin home and seen it has saccharin in it!!! Aren't I meant to be avoiding that for a boy sway?
My chemist didn't have mucinex and when I looked online, it was nearly $70!
Anyone have advice on this?
Um...will turn the central air conditioner on the few nights leading up to O, burning Ylang Ylang...think that's all I have in my arsenal.
So what do you think guys?
Would love any final bits of advice, feedback, etc... from anyone.

Thanks Cinss. Most of the time I feel like there's no way this could fail, I've been so disciplined and given it everything. I know even the best sways can not work though so am trying to keep neutral...trying being the operative word.
Yes the Robitussin is the chesty cough, red packaging one. For the record, it does have saccharin in it.
I freaked myself out and worked back when I conceived all the girls and they were all under girl moon phases!! Am hoping my next O falls on the 5th Dec (Leo) or the 8th (Libra). In between is a girl sign again...sigh. Did you, or anyone else check back for these? Did it affect you?

luvalittleman, im pretty sure the amount of saccharin in there is not enough to worry about, i do know the capsules dont have it in there if you are worried about it you could swap it.
Yes i did try to follow the moon signs as well as the chineese gender chart but after a while ttc i stopped caring about it because i hit a block of like 7 girl months in a row, i researched it a bit more and found that really there is no science behind it and boys and girls are concieved every day under the same signs.

The logical part of me knows its true - I guess I just want everything that may help to be on my side.
I have run into 2 ladies in the last 2 days who had 3 girls and 1 boy. Hoping it's a good omen.
Back to making fairy wings with the girls

Hey Afy,
I'm waiting for my AF to arrive (fingers crossed for tomorrow) and then I'm attempting this next cycle :nails:

Looks good luvalittle...one thing, you should only be taking the tribulus from CD5 to O (not while AF is in town). But looks good, prenatals are also good for a boy sway.

I've been taking Mucinex for a few days, and zero cm! I've never had this issue before, but now I'm on all this mc preventing vitamins and there is no mucus hanging around... How long did it take for y'all to see results? I have the pill form, 600mg of guaifenesin twice a day.
I've been taking the opks for the last few days. Today is cd14. Yesterday and today I have a darker line, not positive but darker, but both times the rest of the day I see nothing. This is my first time using opks, and I thought the LH is supposed to show up in the afternoon?
So....I don't understand what is going on?!?
I've never tracked, charted or paid attention to this before. I've gotten pg easily, and didn't want to get all obsessive. But, then we lost our baby and I'm crazy type A obsessive chick now :/

Hi Afy,
I bought the Royal Jelly on a website called Biovea. I couldn't find it anywhere in the bee pollen in australia but don't feel that's going to determine the outcome of my sway so got the one's in a capsule. I'm not sure where you live but my local health food shop has everything on my list so if you have a good one nearby, maybe go in and ask them.
Royal Jelly apparently takes a few months to work so you may want to get onto it sooner rather than later. I started my sway nearly 5 weeks ago so I should be on it 7 weeks before my first attempt in a fortnight.
When are you planning to TTC if you don;t mind me asking?
Thankyou for your kind wishes.

Thanks Anchor, I'd forgotten that about the TT! There's so much to take in so appreciate the reminder
I wasn't sure whether adding anything else in was just overkill or if there was anything in the prenatals that may sway girl. If they sway boy then I will get some today.
Thankyou!

Hi Adoptapom,
I can't remember the cycle after my MC but I do remember clearly I was very dry while conceiving the month later (I remember because I wondered if it was because of the MC). Subsequently had a DD.
It is too late to do much about anything now if you are due to ovulate in a day or so. Just google pre-seed provider and go get some fast in case you do pop an egg this month.
If you don't and you push through to next cycle, then you have 4 more weeks to up your fish oil, EPO (which will be good post MC) and green tea (2 a day max).

I'm right there with you! AF arrived today! I too am incredibly nervous! (mine's a week early though, so I have to deal with some short luteal phase issues. blah!)
I think your plan looks good. I would maybe add -- having the big O (maybe with the preseed and a little baking soda) a few days before ovulation and the day of your attempt.
Also, about robitussin, you'll need to as Atomic for sure, but if you don't have access to Mucinex, I think it'd be ok. $70 is crazy expensive for it!
How much Vit D are you taking and is it the D3? I was reading some articles that atomic and nuthingbutpink posted and the RDA is way low on vitamin D right now and as long as its D3, its incredibly hard to take too much. I've been taking 6,000IU. There was an article linking increased Vit d3 to increased testosterone.
Speaking of testosterone, are you working out at all? I am trying but find it hard to find time. :( I'm hoping my increased D3 will help!

Are you taking other supps that could potentially move your O?
Also, with Mucinex, I just took it once a day and made sure I was drinking a ton of water, I mean a ton, bc it could dry you out if you don't have enough water. It thins out your mucous but you need to make sure you're hydrated.
Oh and the OPKs, it could depend on the brand. Last month, my positive ones were dark (just barely dark as the control line). I was heavily cramping and had ewcm, so I knew it was right.

Here is what I've been taking for the last 6 weeks:
Supps:
Fish oil with vit D
Metanx- prescription vit with tons of Folic Acid, B6,b12
Wheatgrass tablets
Prenatal Neevo DHA (does not have added ca or mg)
Baby Aspirin (have to after mc)
Potassium supplement
Mucinex- for 5 days
Have taken Emergenc packets 4 times- has lots of vitamins
Extras:
Drinking a mountain of lemon water
COT& gelatin drink- last 3 days
Green tea- 2 or 3 xs a day
Eating- tons of dried fruit an nuts, bananas, red meat and veggies.
So.... I'm not sure why there isn't any cm? I did buy some preseed yesterday.
( and my mc was August 9th, we lost the baby at 16weeks and I had to have a d&e. so I have had 3 weird cycles since then, one with noticeable ewcm. It's very confusing!)
skrimpy
November 21st, 2012, 10:16 PM
Adoptamom I think the ewcm could be because your body is still getting things back in sync after your loss, sometimes cycles are funny for awhile.
Another thing you could look at is if you're getting enough fat in your diet. It's good for swaying blue and adding in some extra butter and other good fats helped me boost my ewcm.
This little guy I'm pg with now was conceived on my 3rd cycle postpartum (had just gotten them back from breastfeeding) and I had some ewcm but not nearly as much as in my "totally back to normal" cycles so it's helpful but not vital.
Usually the Mucinex works pretty fast for the gals taking it, so you can keep trying that.
You can have an LH surge morning or afternoon :) Usually it will build up progressively over a few days. Did you show a dark line morning and then not afternoon? Are you using FMU in the morning? You don't want to with an OPK because it can concentrate the urine too much. Pee a couple of times then use the OPK after you've cleared out that FMU.

Hi Becca,
I am taking D3 and will definately increase dosage. I am also about to hit Queensland summer which is basically hot and sunny every day. I easily get 1/2 to 2 hours sun every day.
I am also working out with heavy weights 3 or 4 times a week and have gained considerable muscle in the last month. Also drinking Gelatin twice a day so along with diet, I think I'm doing everything I can on the Testosterone front.
I hope your cycle comes good for this fortnight. Best of luck!!!

Hi Elements,
That's one of the reasons I started taking Maca.
It's often used to treat adrenal fatigue (your adrenals make Estrogen and Testosterone) and helps to regulate your hormones.
My cycles were 27 days consistently but my AF was heavy and lasted 7 days.
I don't know if it was the HE diet, all the sups combined or what but I started the Maca at the same time and two weeks later I had a perfect 3 day AF (my cycle was only 26 days but LP was 14 days).
I think it may be worth trying.

Hi all. Im also swaying blue and gearing up for my attempt. I'm currently on cd6. Diet all going ok but so sick of eating. Supps all as recommended in my plan. Started my coconut blitz today.. It's horrid!! Wheatgrass tablets started last weekend and taking around 5 a day. Lots of lemon water and a glass or two of v8 a day with 2 towable spoons of brewers yeast in one . Not had any gelatin.?? Is this really good for raising tester one.
Took my ph on cd4.. It was 4.7 although as assures me it would be low on this day . Got pressed and am using that daily. Have started weights in house but just bn so busy!!
The one thing I'm really concerned about us my tester one levels.. What else can I do now in the next 6-7 days to increase this drastically. I just feel that this is what will let me down. Got the red chesty cough robusstin. Starting that tomorrow roughly 5 days before ovulation!! Feel so overwhelmed and am sure I'm on the verge if getting fired at work. Good luck everyone!

Hi Blue please.
It's difficult to raise Testosterone quickly but these few things may help (please anyone else jump in...)
1. Gelatin
2. Lots of red meat for Zinc boost
3. Increase good fats
4. Plenty of sleep
Try not to stress. That's not going to help you. Completely understand about neglecting work...am currently doing the same.
If you're not ready, or don't feel like you have it all where you want it, there's no harm in putting it off until next month (although I get the thought of eating all this food for another month is off putting!! My thighs are ugly).

Hi ladies, I need your help!
I have done three OPK's today, all with a line slightly lighter than the control line. I have had a faint line the past couple of days. I am on CD13 and usually ovulate on CD18/19. EPO mucked up my cycle so I stopped it last month.
The thing is that we DTD last night (with protection) so now I am uncertain whether to try tonight or to wait until tomorrow so that we have the two day gap. My concern is that both my girls were conceived when we DTD for days in a row so in my mind I wanted there to be a gap of two days or more.
What would you ladies do?
I have also asked Atomic but she is probably getting a good sleep after thanksgiving!
Thanks for your help!

Foods rich in cholesterol - Cholesterol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholesterol) Eggs, butter, lard, full-fat dairy, fatty meats, poultry skins...Cholesterol is the building block from which all your hormones are made. Testosterone and estrogen are not really supplied to your body by being eaten themselves; rather, your body manufactures them from the foods you eat. So keeping your body supplied with cholesterol will ensure that it has enough on hand to manufacture testosterone and estrogen.
Foods rich in saturated fat - Saturated fat - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturated_fat) In addition to the foods in the cholesterol group above, ANY foods rich in saturated fat will help boost your supply of testosterone and estrogen, even if it has no cholesterol. There are some plant-based saturated fats like coconut oil, dark chocolate, and palm oil that are high in saturated fat but contain no cholesterol. (only animal products have cholesterol.) Saturated fats from these sources help your body to make its own cholesterol. 30% or more of your calories should come from fat.
Foods rich in healthy fats - Polyunsaturated fat - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyunsaturated) Monounsaturated fat - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monounsaturated_fat) Fish, avocado, nuts, seeds, olive oil, oatmeal, whole wheat, meats, eggs, and full-fat dairy. Interestingly, there are a lot of healthy fats occuring alongside the cholesterol and saturated fats in animal products! This group causes some confusion for people because eating a lot of healthy fat can actually LOWER blood cholesterol levels, but it does so in such a way that your body is still able to produce ample amounts of testosterone and estrogen. Research has shown that men who ate the most healthy fats had the highest levels of testosterone. 30% or more of your calories should come from fat.
Foods rich in Vitamin D - Full-fat dairy is the best source of Vit. D. Vit. D has been proven (more than most things in swaying!!) to dramatically raise testosterone. If you're scared of taking Vit. D or drinking dairy products because they are traditional pink swaying tactics, simply go outside and sunbathe for an hour a day.
Foods high in protein - Protein is a building block for muscle, and the more muscle you have, the more testosterone your body produces. So if you increase your protein intake, esp. while following an exercise program that builds muscle, you will be "telling" your body that you "need" it to make more testosterone.
Healthy, nutrient rich carbs - Protein eaten ALONE is not enough to build muscle. Your body needs carbohydrates as well. In fact, a high protein, low carb diet like Atkins actually was shown to LOWER testosterone production in at least one study. If possible, try to focus on carbs that contain some healthy fats in them - whole grain breads, oatmeal (oats contain a chemical that is proven to raise testosterone), and of course lots of colorful fruits and vegetables. Garlic contains a compound in it that has been shown to raise testosterone and makes a great addition to any meal. Remember, protein + carbs = boys, for both blood glucose and for testosterone!!!
Foods rich in Vit. A - Like Vit. D above, Vit. A is a fat soluble vitamin that has been shown to raise testosterone. DO NOT take large doses of Vit A supplements, Vit. A through diet is what you are after. Vit. A supplements can KILL you or give your baby birth defects. Carrots, tomatoes, any brightly colored orange fruits and veg will have ample amounts of Vitamin A. Meats and dairy foods also have good amounts of Vitamin A present in them.
A few things to be aware of:
Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage (also called cruciferous vegetables) contain a chemical that has been shown to raise testosterone but may do so at the expense of estrogen. We want things that will boost BOTH our testosterone and our estrogen. Eating a cruciferous veggie here and there will not affect you negatively, but there is a supplement based on this chemical called DIM which we may want to stay away from.
Lignans and other phytoestrogens, which are chemicals that may mimic estrogen in such a way that it represses testosterone production and/or competes with the body's natural estrogens, may not be the best way to go to raise T levels. A lot of swayers believe phytoestrogens sway blue and we honestly don't have enough info to know for certain, so I'm just sharing this and then y'all can decide for yourselves what makes the most sense. Flax, soy, sesame seed, and the brans of various cereal products all contain lignans/phytoestrogens.Lignan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lignan) http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocente...icals/lignans/
Phytoestrogens - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phytoestrogens)
http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocente...micals/soyiso/
Fiber - LARGE amounts of fiber can absorb and sweep fats out of the digestive tract. (This is why pink swayers are taking fiber supps). This doesn't mean you should switch to refined white breads and skip vegetables...fiber in dietary amounts probably does not affect fat absorption very much at all. Don't take fiber supps if you're swaying blue.
Quick list of foods that will raise your T levels!!
Full-fat dairy (whole milk, cheese, ice cream, yogurt)
Poultry (choose fattier varieties like dark meat and skin)
Meat (choose fattier, well-marbled cuts)
Animal-based cooking fats (lard, butter, ghee, bacon grease, schmaltz)
Eggs (eat at least 2 a day and 4-6 a day if you are a vegetarian)
Nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashews, peanuts)
Seeds (pumpkin seeds, sunflower, sesame seeds)
Olive oil and other plant-based oils like nut oils, palm oil, coconut oil
Fatty fish (salmon, sardines, tuna)
Gelatin (in Jello desserts, consomme, aspic, or taken as a supplement)
Orange and dark green fruits and vegetables (carrots, tomatoes, swiss chard, winter squash, apricots, V-8 juice)
Garlic
Oatmeal
Whole Wheat Bread

Cass idealy you would want to attempt the day before O, then 2 more times within 24 hours. So do you know if you O on the day of your + or the day after?

Sorry if I seem a bit slow but this charting thing is new to me!
I usually get a positive OPK then three temperature rises the following three days. FF says I O on the day following positive OPK. But like I said, I have been on EPO for the months prior to this and that is the only time I have charted.

Wow, you are doing great on the T front! I need to work on the weights and gelatin. Good luck! Did your AF arrive? I'm getting so anxious!!
Oh I don't know becca. I'm like a mexican hairless...hee hee. I am definately hitting the Gelatin and weights (also bashing the daylights out of my husbands boxing bag twice a week). I think I have low T naturally and am not seeing any differences despite my best attempts diet wise. I really hope the jump up in a fortnight when it counts. No AF yet but am kind of hoping they don't arrive until Sunday. That means I'll probably ovulate under Libran Moon which is boy sign and before you all jump in and say it's irrelevant (which deep down I kinda think it is) I have checked all my girls conceptions and they were all under girl moon signs. Given I am doing everything opposite/differently, I just want to ovulate under a boy moon this time.
Funnily enough we were watching a rerun of How I met your Mother last night and Marshall was dropping his boy bits in ice water and eating pickled herrings in secret (TV boy sway theory) and Lily was sucking lemons (TV girl sway theory). Subsequently because I have been drinking so much lemon water, my husband has had a good laugh pretending to accuse me of trying to sway for girl 4!!! I told him if he really believes that he can drop his boy bits in ice water every night!!

Well that is good then, as soon as you see the + you should start your attempts and try for 3. Fingers crossed coming off the epo isnt going to muck you around too much.

Cinss
November 23rd, 2012, 04:12 AM
Cass i think you should have your first attempt as soon as you see the +opk, which should be tomorrow? Dont worry that you DTD recently its not going to sway pink unless you DTD for several days (7-10) in a row before you ovulate. You want maximum numbers of sperm going for the egg to sway blue, so just say you get a +opk tomorrow DTD, then again the next morning and night.

Im Glad to see blue swayers  really nice to see people in the same boat as you! wishing you blue swayers all the best!!
well I have a question lol may seem awkward but... Would anyone think its not a good idea to take a shower the night after you DTD and still want to DTD couple hours later? I just get really irritated not having a shower after i dtd !! I dont want to wash away the CM either..
also did anyone experience a HUGE amount of CM during intercourse.. ive been on the diet 3 weeks tomorow and i have upped my water intake quite alot and the fish oil.. i was sooo surprised to see so much CM but during intercourse it was ALOT.. is this a good sign?? im nowhere near Ovulation..

Afy I've been doing the diet for about a month plus I've started Robitussin over the last few days. My cm has increased hugely and I asked dh if we would need lube during dtd and he said no that its already a lot! It feels a lot too... so must be hiding up there! I think if you lay down for half an hour minimum then you should be fine to shower after.....

I was the same, i felt like i had to wash in between DTDs but i did read one of Atomics comments on the topic saying not to wash anything away. If you really have to wash then wait for as long as possible then just wash the outside if you know what i mean. Yes it is a very good sign if you have lots of ewcm during intercourse.

Im going on the 4th of Dec, its only to an ultrasound school as a volenteer, they will look at the gender for me, while teaching the students how to do it, i dont have to pay for it and they give me a copy of it on dvd, so im not really nervous as such because its not a normal medical scan, just more like an oportunity to see my baby before the anatomy scan :)

I'm gearing up for my attempt today or tomorrow. Cm just turned watery and ff puts me as o'ing tomorrow . I'm a little excited and so is dh. I'd love a boy but now I just want to get pregnant coz I might change my mind.... Maybe! I've done all I can. I've been eating well, put on a few kgs, on all the supps. The only thing is the exercise. I do squats, calf raised, dips and push ups. I do five sets of 20. I do this in the kitchen as I'm struggling to go out to the gym in the garage with the little ones. I then sit on the exercise bike for as long as they let me. I also chase them in the yard. I hope its enough. I've been on the robitussin for a few days and its doing the trick. Loads of lemon water, green tea, red grape juice and v8 with gelatin. As soon as I get a positive opk...I'm using smiley face.... We will Dtd that night, the next morning and the following night, although my opks usually are negative the next day in the afternoon.
Does it all sound ok?good luck to everyone else too x

Aww thanks Afy.
I don't know if what I'm doing is going to work or not but if I can help you in any way I will!
Have you picked a date to start trying? I have read that you should be on diet at least 6 weeks but have also read a few ladies who were on it for a long time and found it hard to sustain for long term.
Also, I have been reading through ALL the sway attempts and form those that talk about diet in detail, it was the healthiest ones that seem to have the best results. Not the ones eating lots of hot dogs and processed meats but the high, good quality meat and nutrition diet. Is pretty expensive but I figure even if I get an opposite, it will be super healthy!!

Hi Minimatron. How exciting. It sounds like you are really organised and have done good preparation.
Just a randon thought, I read somewhere that gelatin can slightly raise T levels for around 2 hours after drinking it (can't for the life of me remember where) so If you are at all worried, have an hour or two before. Also, weight bearing exercises are good (think as many pushups on your toes as you can. Do it until your arms start shaking, rest 1 min. Repeat 4 times. The do the same with chin ups or squats...grab a little one and put one on your back for the squats and lunges...hee hee).
Am close to you with the kids :
:DD: 7 (last month)
:DD: 5 (last month)
:DD: 2 (3 in Jan)
Also wanting a :DS: so much.
I wish you the very best of luck. Be positive and remember, only 5% end up with 4 of the same gender so the odds are on your side.

Afy, at this point I know as much as you do so I think you should go when you feel that you have it all planned out and are ready. If that's April/May, then that's right for you.
I am so ready to go! I have stuffed myself full of healthy, nutritious, carb/protein balanced, fruit and veg extreme, potassium rich foods for the past 5 weeks and will continue to do so for the next 3 or 4.
I have worked out hard and have put on about 3 kg's of mostly muscle.
I'm having coconut water every afternoon and have made up some beef stock water which I am going to try and drink each day (this was from Flava's sway. She had a great sway and I am following her's quite closely along with Cinss and Dloui's).
I'm not sure if I am going to O next friday or saturday but am basing it on the later and am trying for 3 attempts (thanks Cinss and Dloui) on 0-4, 0-2 and O.
Have the pre-seed and DH has pulled out from his annual interstate boys weekend away that coincided with that weekend.

That's strange Minimatron about the fish oil. I've been having Maca as well and am not sure what it is but my af is lighter and shorter. It's such a relief as it is usually awful.

Im loving this age too, but i do miss my little baby. DDs bday is the 28th so definatly an Aquarian just like me :) She gave herself a haircut the other day, now she has a boy hairstyle, but so typical of them having to be different from everyone else :)
Haha. My friends toddler did that recently.
My DD2 has ringlets halfway down her back..I'd be gutted if she cut her hair.
It's true Aquarians are a little different...my sister is one and I seem to always pick up aquarian friends so must be drawn to the kooky ones in our zodiac. DD3 just finished a beautiful rendition about 15 minutes ago at dinner of "Australians all let us rejoice for we are dumb and free..." We were all wetting ourselves and she had no idea why.

I think that is part of the Shettles method where they thought coffee gives the boy sperm an extra kick to swim faster and you have to time it right when the egg pops out, not too sure how true it is though.

I was going to say the exact same thing! LOL
I tried to get DH to avoid it during this sway because he drank a coke right before BD with DS#2
so going off my experience alone, I wasn't taking chances!

Hey Cinss (or really anyone can answer),
Do you think 0-4, 0-2 and 0 is the best way to go?
I feel a little nervous about the 0-2 one as that sits pretty closely to when I conceived my last daughter I think. I know you don't think much about timing but there are studies on here that show a tendancy for more boys to be conceived further from O and closer to O.... I guess I want to try to tip everything in my favour.

Yep.... I was..... Well all the way up till the exciting bits!
Sorry can't help with your question. I looked at dd2s chart and we Dtd right through. I was on a diet as I was getting married... So that probably explains that. I'm keen to keep as close to o as possible...plus when I read atomics report on cm she said not to do anything while cm is sticky or creamy..... Hth.

When i started swaying last year this O-4, O-2, O pattern was all the rage ;) we all tried to do it and honestly it was a bit tricky because if you ended up Oing on an odd day instead of an even day it mucked it up, you end up with O-3, O-1 and O+1. Now things have shifted and Atomic really only tells ladies to go for 3 attempts in the fertile window for maximum amount of sperm which she believes may sway blue. I personally did every combination of pattern you could think of on my swaying journey and in the end i got pregnant from 1 shot on O. I would say do what you are comfortable with, the 3 times in the fertile window makes sense to me and for greater chance of a BFP i think it is the way to go.

And by the 3 times in the fertile window i am talking about means - when you get a +opk you do attempt1 that night, then attemp2 the next morning, and then the last one that night.

I think just trying to get 3 attempts in during your fertile window is the way to go, I was one of the girls that tried O-4, O-2, and O, but I ovulated later than I thought so I ended up with O-5, O-1 and O

Ps sorry if there's spelling mistakes, I'm on my phone
Looks pretty good. What are your supps?

I decided not to use it because I have been taking Robitussin and I have more than enough cm....
Just a tmi question.... dtd the second attempt... did anyone's dh find it hard to finish? I think we just had not much sleep, he had a big day at work yesterday and the dog has kept us awake from a massive storm...plus all the goo inside me :-) ....
Anyway I'm all done, til tonight. I'll keep laying down till the girls wake up and then I'll need to shower... I don't smell nice with all this goo lol.....

No you definitely don't need preseed if you're good on the CM front. Personally, my DH takes FOREVER when the pressure is on...which I understand. I can't even mention the word baby if we are within 12 hours of DTD!

It's hard to find the most current information on here. Thanks Cinss and Dloui.
The reason I thought to try the other way was because I only get a positive OPK for half a day and last months chart shows temp spike on day of OPK. That means I am only going to get in 1 attempt on O day.
Also, I thought sperm take a day or two to replenish. So without starting a minimum of 3 days before, I can't see how 3 attempts in even a 24 hour period is going to generate more sperm. I'm back to being confused again...

By my calculations... around 7 hours between... poor bugger and he's gone to work again....
Yesterday arvo I did a Tai boa session and then carried my 13kg two year old around doing squats lunges, calf raises etc... dh pulled heavy cables all day. I'm hoping that helped on the exercise front.
I really hope I get pg from this.... surely three attempts in the fertile window should do it....

Good point... I read something on here that its about getting as many sperm there waiting for the egg and its completely different to a girl sway as they fr for 7-10 days and then an attempt after abstaining.... hope someone can explain it better...

When we conceived our girls, we DTD most days during the month of attempt. We got pregnant the first month of trying each time.
So when we did our first attempt last week, we waited for our positive OPK then did an attempt that evening, tried in the morning (but got interrupted by our girls!) and then another attempt the next evening. I am really happy with our timing as it is the opposite to what we did with the girls. Now, just I just have my fingers crossed for a BFP in a couple of weeks!
