Good news, bythe******! My next appointment isn't until July 31st and it's the fun glucose test!! haha
Mommymachine, how are you doing? Sorry, I think I might have not said congrats on your girl! So excited for you too.
Are we all done with the gender scans now? Does everyone know? I am so happy it's all over, but it was fun waiting to hear everyone's news!

Thanks! My next doctors appointment isn't until August 6th, not sure why she made it 5 weeks instead of 4. Oh well. Then I think she will send me for glucose testing and the rhogam shot. DH and I have paid for another private scan which is August 3rd. We get DVDs of all the kids when I'm pregnant with them. It's just tradition now.

Oh Id love to get another scan and a dvd but nowhere near me does private scans. I have to have the glucose test next time too. The midwife told me everyone needs to do the 2hr fasting one too, boo. It just used to be 1hr and you didn't have to fast. Who had 2 hrs to suit there? I'll have to find a good book.

July 15th, 2013, 11:37 PM
I don't know when we have to do our test, not looking forward to it. I have always passed, but it makes me feel sick every time... I would not like to do a 2 hour one either! Anyone else still feeling sleepy all the time? I just can't shake it, never remember that lasting this long with my last 4...

July 15th, 2013, 11:58 PM
My tiredness went away then came back again about 19 weeks for a few weeks. It's a pain isn't it? But maybe it's because you have 4 other kids to look after Zem?

So sorry you are feeling tired. I am guessing it is the pregnancy and keeping up with the others! I was so so fatigued at the end of the 1st tri, but fingers crossed still feeling really good.
bythe******, that is harsh! Mine is still an hour. They let me drink it at home though and I just have to be there 1 hour later to get my blood drawn. Two hours is really long! I am craving so many more sweets this pregnancy. I worry I will fail!

July 18th, 2013, 09:30 AM
Sounds like you are all doing well! I am looking forward to not having frequent heartburn anymore and losing the baby weight I put on already and feeling less rolly polly overall, lol.
Feel free to pass judgement on me but I do eat sushi while pregnant. Granted, I only eat it from restaurants or the high end grocery store by us because of the preparation, but I still eat it. The fish itself is frozen to kill any parasites hanging out in there before it's thawed out and made into sushi.
Japanese women do not give up sushi while pregnant either. Japan's health ministry is fanatical about public health and if there was significant evidence to back up that pregnant women really shouldn't eat sushi, there would be a massive public awareness campaign and movements to stop women from eating sushi.
Anyway, that's why I still eat sushi while pregnant but anyone who still doesn't feel comfortable certainly doesn't have to - to each their own! It's still a good idea to avoid or have small servings of the fish with a higher mercury content though.
Lizzie Lizard
July 18th, 2013, 11:55 AM
I totally agree, Babygirl4me. I should just eat it. My friend started eating it half-way through her pregnancy.
Funny too I will eat soft cheese and deli meats (also a source for listeria). I don't know why I get the guilt with sushi? There was a chance I was going to Japan for work during my pregnancy. I figured I would eat the sushi over there... why not here too? ha
mommymachine
July 18th, 2013, 12:14 PM
I thought it was the mercury in sushi as to why pregnant women can't eat it? I don't like seafood so it's not a hard choice for me. I do eat deli meats. I make sure all soft cheese is pasteurized. I also don't drink herbal teas just because I heard it wasn't safe...not sure if there is any truth to that??? But, I'm extremely guilty of having WAY too much caffeine.
zem7
July 18th, 2013, 03:47 PM
I also don't care much for fish, so don't have a problem with not eating it. I don't change really how I eat what so ever. Still get my steaks medium rare, still eat deli meat, still eat cheese, still eat soft serve ice cream. Have with all of my pregnancies so far, they all turned out fine lol. So just now, my cat was laying on my stomach. Well apparently the baby didn't like that, so she kicked right where the cat was at. The cat jumped off me so fast and turned around and looked at me like I just shot it....HAHA!!
bythestream
July 18th, 2013, 08:01 PM
That's funny about the cat Zem. My boys always used to kick my husband whenever we hugged. This is likely my last pregnancy so Im trying to savour it, that being said In looking forward to having more energy. I basically got no sleep last night with bad weather, baby kicks, reflux, 5yo not sleeping and sick husband sleep just didn't happen.
DH had been sick for a week and not much help even though he's supposed to be on holidays. I've booked him into the dr today even though he didn't want to go.

July 18th, 2013, 08:28 PM
You poor thing, bythe******! I have to do that with my husband. Funny how if I am sick I get maybe 1-2 days to get better, but my hubby drags things on... haha
I usually ending up booking him an appointment because I have had enough too! He got this terrible case of poison oak and dragged him into my dermo to get a shot finally! Why prolong the misery?!?
Zem7, hilarious about the cat, but I'm not supposed to eat soft serve ice cream?? Whoops! Just had a vanilla cone at mcDonald's today. Can't give that up!
I am a big tea drinker (well, I have 1 cup of green tea in the morning and don't drink coffee) I asked my doc about the herbal teas. She said some of them were bad for you?? I still thought it was crazy and when I pushed her on it she said "everything in moderation".I had not heard that in my first pregnancy.
Yes, I am assuming this is my last pregnancy too so trying to enjoy it. Although I went to yoga today and not sure how much longer I can go. It's difficult for me to even lay on my back at the end and relax!

It seems fitting somehow. I am so excited for them! Dying to know the details of her labor. I'll ask her the next time we have tea!

So ladies, I have a question, I know I should remember this stuff, this being pregnancy number 5 and all. I just can't for the life of me remember if this is something that happened with the others or not. I am 21 weeks, I have been feeling baby move for weeks now, most of the time big movements. Yesterday, last night, and today I have felt very little to no movement. What I do feel is slight movements. Is this something normal or should I worry (I am already worried). Last night I was up almost all night hoping to feel her move some, but seriously, I never felt her move. I did feel some small movements this morning but that has been it.... Help please.

Zem, they have quiet days. With my others I've noticed a pattern. One of them was 2 days active then 1 day slow. I haven't noticed a pattern with this one but she for sure has quieter days. She is sooooo active this morning. If your worried...go in. It takes twenty minutes for them to do a trace on baby an it's completely worth it. Always trust your instincts!!!

It has been a long 2 days and nights....On a happy note, excited to go see family this weekend, we are doing our firework then, since we haven't been around anyone for so long. Finally going to be able to reveal that this baby is a girl also, so excited lol.

Sorry, girls I haven't been on much this week! Missed you all!
Zem so glad she started to kick again. I hope you are nejoying your family time!
Mommymachine, I was glad to read your post. Mine will go almost 24 hours of full on kicking, then nothing. I don't remember this with my first. One night I just got up and read a book because I literally couldn't go back to sleep with all the kicking. Then she went silent and for another whole 24 hours I couldn't feel anything. It made me nervous too, but then I felt so little kicks.
This might be terrible advice, I heard this long before I was even married! I remember my coworkers wife was worried and her doc told her (again this was like 10 years ago!) to drink a half of a coke or something with caffeine and then lay down on your side and be really still. Not sure they would tell a woman to drink caffeine now, but I always remembered that.

Do you know why they say the left side mommymachine? My placenta is on the left so I find the right more comfortable.
Lizzie Lizard
July 28th, 2013, 07:46 PM
Yes, why do they say left side? I don't find one side more comfortable than the other. Usually I just have to switch bc one side is "falling asleep" with blood flow.
zem7
July 28th, 2013, 11:31 PM
It is because a major blood vessel runs down, if you lay on that side it gives you optimum oxygenation for the body and baby. That is way they say if you are feeling dizzy while pregnant to drink a glass of water and get on the left side.
zem7
July 28th, 2013, 11:34 PM
Although, it is still perfectly safe to be on the right side also. My dr. told me to listen to my body, if I feel more comfortable on one side, go with it. We even found that to be the case for when we deliver. My last baby, during delivery, did NOT like when I was on the left side. His HB would slow way down, he only liked the right side. ~~We told my family this weekend we were having a girl, they are soo excited! lol My mom already went out and got some girl cloths!

Ok so I posted this as a question, in the parenting group, but I thought I would also ask you ladies. Ok so I have had 4 children, with each of them I have tried to BF but never made it past a month with any of them. I am currently pregnant with baby 5 and truly want to try to BF for the first year. My big problem with the others was, I just didn't enjoy it. I hear a lot of people talking about how they like the bonding time and how special it is. But I just never got this feeling, I felt the same using breast or bottle. I loved my babies, loved being with them, holding them, feeding them, and playing with them. I just never enjoyed this....Is there something wrong with me, for not liking it? What can I do to make it better. Sorry this is such an odd question, I just want some support. Also no one in my family breast fed more then a month either, so they are not much help....
bythestream
July 31st, 2013, 12:14 AM
Zem, I think the key is to stick with it for more than a month. Breastfeeding is hard especially to start with and you need to do it for 6-12 weeks before you really settle into it. That was the case for me anyway. I found it so much easier than fussing with bottles though. Breastfeeding is great because it's always there ready no matter where you are. Do you have any foundations in the states that can offer support. The Australian breastfeeding association is always ready to answer questions, and if you ask the right people you can get the help of fantastic lactation consultants.

I've been gone for a couple weeks now with family vacation. But I'm back now and hope to contribute more.
Zem- I think bythe****** is right. The first 6-12 weeks are hard- sore nipples, trying to figure out latching on, etc. It also depends on the baby. My first never latched well, had a hard time nursing, etc. He was also severely allergic to milk proteins, which transferred from what I ate and drank into the breast milk. After 3 1/2 months we called it quits and switched to formula and it was the best decision for us. My second latched on right after birth and nursed like a champ for 22 months. I'm hoping for another good nurser again.
Whether you breastfeed or bottlefeed, you're a great mom and you're doing the best for your baby. If you want to breastfeed, give it a good try, hang in there awhile, research tips and techniques and find support. And if it doesn't work out, you'll know that you've given it your best.

For those who swayed pink and got blue...I must say that while browsing baby things I am seeing so many super cute gender neutral baby clothes these days in the stores. Wish they would have had them when I was dealing with GD for DS. Ah well.
I did buy a few more things for DD and every time I do I make sure I get something for DS too to make sure I don't favor one over the other.

Babygirl4me you would get a big brother shirt in his size from there, that's where I got DD big sister shirt (who is 19 months today). I don't need to buy too much since DD was born in January and this one is end of November. But will need to buy her a Christmas dress. zem- I had heartburn with my first, then got full-blown acid reflux with my second which lasted SIX years until I went to acupuncture to cure it. But it came back with a fury in this pregnancy. Having said that, I have a few tips I can give you...
-soda/pop/coke/whatever you call it in your region will make it much worse. I avoid it like the plague.
-chocolate can aggravate it, but I love chocolate too much and it's my sanity during the summer with kids home, so I just try not to be too naughty with it.
-spicy foods will also aggravate it, which really stinks because I would love some good guacamole or pico de gallo with my tacos. I settle for plain avocado instead (and hey- I'm getting good nutrition and good fats with it).
-Dr Andrew Weil (natural medicine doc) says that pistachios are good for the GI tract. I don't think that they really helped with my acid, but I sure enjoy eating them anyway.
-APPLES, APPLES, APPLES!!! I learned a couple years ago that apples will help help with heartburn and acid reflux and it is true. I eat at least one apple a day as a preventative measure. And if I'm feeling symptoms, I eat another one and it almost always helps.
-Prevacid. My acid reflux is so bad that even with all the tricks, I still need to take Prevacid daily. I take it in the morning 30 minutes before eating (it's important to give it that 30 minutes to do it's prep work, but also don't wait longer to eat).
I hope these tips help you.

Squamgirl thanks so much for the advice on heartburn. Mine's been horrible! I feel like a fire breathing dragon. I've been taking the max dose of tums for a while now. I got some tips to try from the midwives including smaller meals and not drinking while eating. I'll have to let go of chocolate and soda. But, starting tomorrow. I want it today, lol. I was 26 weeks yesterday, time is flying now. I have discussed a few things with my midwives Zem, just asking questions mostly. But because I'll be birthing at the hospital I don't know which midwife I'll have. I have been blessed to have really great midwives both other times so hopefully this time is the same. I just want a natural birth no dis or intervention unless it's necessary. Last time that worked well, I have actually never been offered any in labour and only asked for gas towards the end last time and my husband told me it would probably make me feel sick but looking back now I think I was in transition at that point.
I'd like to do delayed cord clamping and the midwife I asked said that shouldn't be a problem as long as there are no complications so I'll make sure my DH reminds the midwives at the time.

So had my 24 week visit today. I am measuring a week ahead, so happy with that. I so far have gained 6 pounds. I told the Dr. today that in the event should this baby be breach by delivery time, I refuse to have a C section for it. He was so shocked, went to tell me that it wasn't recommended. Saying it is ok for a twin mom to birth the second baby if breach, but much more goes wrong with a single baby pregnancy. He did eventually say that if that did happen, he would be willing to help transfer me to a bigger hospital that does do breach births. I think he may have just gotten the first dose that I will not be the regular push over pregnant women, wonder what he will say at my 28 week visit when I present him with my birth plan.....LOL I also get to take my diabetes test next visit, that should be so much fun!

Looks like everyone is getting good bills of health. That is excellent news! I take the diabetes test at my next visit in September. They were very nice and gave me half the drink to take home so I can take it at home and not have to come in early and keep DS occupied at the clinic while I wait for the sugary stuff to take its effect.
Overall things are good. I've been feeling very tired lately, almost feels like I have no energy. :( The heartburn is still bad but I've been trying to avoid chocolate and soda to the best of my ability. DH brought home some apples and they seem to be helping too. Just sitting up more often is also helping.
Time is flying when I look at the calendar but it also feels like things are moving so slow! I am excited to have this little baby to love and play with. I wish she could come out sooner and be with us. :)

Here's a question for everyone today...
Cord blood banking- are you doing it?
We're undecided. It's a pretty big expense and we don't know if it will be worth it or not. It's almost $2,000 upfront cost and then $130 per year for storage.
mommymachine
August 12th, 2013, 10:36 AM
I did it was DS3 and DD. the initial cost is high but storage is only $110 a year. However, they got a low volume of blood with DS3 which can sometimes happen. I chose to store it anyway. We are undecided about whether or not to do it a third time. We would get a discount for a third time but then we'd be paying $330 a year to store. I feel we should. But we have lots of time to think it over.
zem7
August 12th, 2013, 03:32 PM
We never did, too expensive. Plus I like to wait till the cord is done pulsating before cutting it....
squamgirl

zem- that was one of my concerns... I want to do delayed cord clamping and figured cord blood banking wouldn't be a possibility if we do that. Plus the expense.
My dr wants to know my choice at my appt on Wed so we're trying to figure out what to do.

So glad to hear about you girls planning trips. My hubby has a work thing in northern cali beginning of oct. I have taken Jack with me home to texas and on a short trip to visit a friend, but as a family we have not done anything! My hubby's busy time at work is the summer.
Anyway, Zem, not so brave for a tent, but still looking forward to getting out! Hope you have a great time!

Hey ladies- I'm having a really emotional time right now....
I had bloodwork yesterday that came back that I'm slightly anemic and my thyroid level is low. Now I'll be starting medication for that. Reading up on it I found that if I don't treat the thyroid issues, there could be developmental delays. I hope the treatment we're starting takes care of it. I also read that the thyroid issue could cause miscarriages and I've had two, so I have to wonder if that played a role in those.
I also had bloodwork this morning to test for IPC (Home (http://www.icpcare.org)). If I have IPC, I'll need to start medication for that and I'll need to deliver by 37 weeks because there is a significant risk for stillbirth after 37 weeks. The lab said to expect the results in 2 weeks. I guess I just get to worry until then.
Not sure exactly why I'm sharing this- I guess I just need to get it out there and talk about it.
I hope everyone else is doing well and staying complication free.

So sorry you have to take the meds and all, hopefully the bloods come back just fine and you don't have to worry about the IPC as well. I know not much encouragement on my part, all I can say is everything will work out... That's what I always tell myself in these kind of situations.

Sorry you're having a hard time Squamgirl, there are lots of things that can cause miscarriage and is so common, please don't blame yourself. And Im sure this bub will be fine developmentally. I went to have my glucose tolerance test the other day and the hospital asked if Id be part of a trial on thyroid function in pregnancy, my results aren't back yet so I don't know how mine is. The test isn't usually done here even though our iodine levels are really low.

I don't mind taking the medication if it means I'm doing something good for the baby. I just hope it's the correct course of action.
I have a lot of the symptoms for IPC, so I'm hoping that if it is IPC, my dr will take it seriously and do whatever is necessary to keep my baby safe.
Basically, all I want right now is for my baby to be safe.

I'm so sorry. I hope the blood work shows everything is just fine. If you don't mind me asking, what are the symptoms??
I don't mind at all...
The symptoms are:
-itching all over, especially on the palms and soles. The itching is worse at night (I have this- it's driving me insane. And it's disturbing to find blood spots on your pajamas and sheets from where you've scratched so hard you bleed)
-dark urine or pale stools (I don't have this)
-preterm labor (too early to say)
-jaundice (don't have this)
-upper right quadrant pain (I have this and the pain of it takes my breath away sometimes)
-nausea (I haven't had this, except for this morning during church)
-fatigue or exhaustion (I have this- I feel like my arms and legs have been dipped in concrete)
-loss of appetite (don't have this)
-mild depression (hard to say.... I cry so easily and get overwhelmed and scared, but I'm also on my fifth pregnancy and have lost two previously, so it could be a number of factors)
I hope the results come back soon!

Oh wow. That's terrible. I'm SO sorry. Is it a test they always do in pregnancy or only when symptoms happen?
They only test it when symptoms are present (and in my case, you've done research and ask for the test).
Labs came back today as "normal." However, what the dr says is normal and what all my research says does not agree. I have an appt with my dr tomorrow morning to discuss it. If it were just the annoying itching, that would be one thing... but if not properly treated, there can be stillbirth for the baby and post-delivery hemorrhaging for the mother. So I want to make sure we know what we're dealing with.

Ok, so after this baby is born I plan to try out baby wearing this time. I want to use a sling, that is good to use hands free, breast feeding, and while the baby gets older. I am smaller when not pregnant, just over 5 ft. I am usually around 120 pounds. Got any ideas?

Zem - I had a maya wrap that I really liked. It's great for when they are bitty. When DS got a little bigger I moved up to an infantino carrier that I got on sale with a coupon - great buy and my DS still fits in it at around 23lbs if I need to use it. I just don't like strollers when they're that little.

I go in this morning to the OB and I was going to ask where she was... She is moving so much! My stomach was completely lop-sided last night. It was funny.
In other news, my son told his favorite preschool teacher that "we don't want him anymore because we have a baby coming". I felt so bad when I first heard, then I was kinda annoyed. We really haven't done anything for this baby yet that has impacted his life. (I get that it still is a change and I should be sympathetic.) Mostly, I just know him and I think he was trying to get attention at school from his favorite teacher!
When he got home I talked to him and he seemed surprised I knew. haha He said he was just kidding? I told him he loved him and would not give him up for all the babies in the world and then he switched to he never said it.
You guys ever go through something like this with your kids?

Speaking of troubles with DS, mine has been flat out rotten the past few days. He is outraged that I won't let him color on our furniture, eat his crayons or that I make him eat with a baby fork vs adult size. It's like the end of the world for him and the screaming is pressing my buttons. Ugh, feels like everything I do makes it worse. Sometimes he's a great kid but other times he's so difficult. I am getting very worried about how he's going to react when the new baby comes. I'm not sure why he's acting up so much now. I have been very uncomfortable with my growing bump and not sleeping well so my temper is short right now anyway. I also have constant heartburn now which is making things more difficult too. Sorry, just had to vent.

Just bought my first ring sling! lol I am so excited for it to get here, so I can start learning how to use it. May have to use one of Brooklyn's dolls haha. Have had a pretty good week, same pains as always, BH contractions non stop, joys of a irritable uterus.... My stomach also feels so full? I feel like I am in for a big belly growth soon. Am also starting to feel sick again after I eat meals.... Thought I got rid of that in the first tri. For the most part I am not worried at how my kids will take the new baby. That's only because they are all still pretty young and having babies around doesn't seem that odd to them, I guess. The only one I am worried about is our youngest DS, he will be 2 in December. He is sooo clingy compared to the rest of the kids, I am worried at how he will react to having me hold a baby all the time. That's another big reason I am wanting the sling. I am hoping that if I am holding the baby in it and he wants to be held by me or something, I can still have my arms/hip open for him to join us. Also he may not notice as much because he won't be able to see the baby well if she is in the sling. Just a thought I guess. Hope everyone is well. We are doing NOTHING this weekend! I love going out and doing things as a family, but sometimes its nice to not have any plans what so ever for an entire weekend (extended to boot).

Yes I wonder who will be first. I'm waiting until I go on maternity leave before I sort things out because I have just been so tired all the time and DH hasn't been around much for different reasons so I've been handling the house/kids by myself mostly. Three weeks left of work, can't wait to finish. I have bought a what I need for the nursery just have to make/sort/paint. We're on holiday first week of maternity leave so that will be nice. I'm hoping to have her on the 1st Nov that would make me 38weeks but I think that's probably wishful thinking.
Ds 1 was induced 12days late ds2 was 8 days early. Id like to go on the 1st because it's on the Friday of a long weekend here and DH will have 3 days off without any stress.

Not sure if I've said this but I've had to be induced every single time from high blood pressure. (DS2 was also coupled with him being IUGR) So I was really hoping my blood pressure would be fine this time. It always goes up around 28 weeks and sure enough it's creeping up. Also, my doctor has now moved me from seeing her every four weeks to every 2 weeks:)

Hopefully your BP evens out so that you don't have to worry about it. Mine does the exact opposite. It gets so low during pregnancy, that even my dr's start to worry about it. At my last visit it was 82/58. Hopefully it doesn't get much lower. I am so tired of all the BH contractions already. I still have so long of having them. I hate having a irritable uterus. Hopefully baby turns for you, wonder if the Webster works on transverse babies, or is it only for breech? If Rozline is still breech by 34 weeks, after I have tried other things, I will be trying that. I know the feeling with low blood pressure, at my apt on Tue. my BP was 88/56. I am almost always dizzy. They told me the best thing to do is eat a bunch a salt. Dr. said all but eat it out of the shaker! lol.
Monkey- usually the Dr. wont do anything to help till you are around 36, 37 weeks. If baby is breech at that point they usually offer to do a version (turn the baby from the outside) doesn't always work, sort of your call if you want to get it done or not. There are other things that you can do to help a breech baby turn though. I am 29 weeks and my baby is breech, but I'm not going to start doing anything till I get to 30 weeks and really I won't be worried if she isn't turned till I hit around 34 weeks. That's when I will start trying the big guns lol. BUT the thing is for me, I already know that if she stays breech I will deliver her like that, wont have a section for a breech. That is my choice though, so I don't think I am as worried about her being in that position as someone who would not consider a V delivery of a breech. If you get further along just make sure you read up a lot on how to help a breech turn.

Yes I'm not getting rid of my boy clothes until after she's born, no more scans for me unless they think something is wrong.
Midwife wasn't concerned about her being transverse, she said because it's a third bub there is still plenty of room to move. I'm not even convinced she is, I get a lot of kicks at the top of my bump and I can't feel a head. I think they were having a bit of trouble because she was moving around so much anyway, she kept hitting the doppler too lol.

I still have all of my boy cloths. Only reason I don't have any girl cloths is because my sister had twin girls a little over a year ago and I gave them to her. Since she knew none of us were having anymore kids, she gave them away. So we now have to get all new girl cloths, need to go through and see if I have some gender natural cloths that she can use in the first few months. I hope you are right and she will come early. Hopefully no earlier than 37 weeks, but knowing my luck I will still need to be induced at 39 weeks lol. My only problem is I am so worried about going into labor, with the irritable uterus, its so hard to decide if it is true labor or just the new normal. Last pregnancy I had early labor at 34 weeks, I didn't feel any different, had contractions all the time at that point, but I just had a nagging feeling I should call and get checked out. Don't know why, but glad I did. I was dilated to a 2 by time they confirmed I was in labor. They gave me turb. but that didn't help at all. Other than to make me shaky! Since I was only 34 weeks (at a small hospital) they had to transfer me to a bigger hospital. So I got to fly in a helicopter! lol At the other hospital they got them to stop but I ended up staying for 4 days. Hopefully I don't have anything like that happen again!!

So TMI questions for everyone. Has anyone had shooting pains in their nipples? It feels like someone is taking a mini taser and zapping my nipples! It went on for hours last night and was driving me CRAZY! lol Also I have had such bad gas.... I am sure I could clear a room. Anyone else having any of these lovely issues? lol Other than that, its been raining here a lot, the kids have been stuck in side for the past few days. You can tell.... Starting to get cooler out, makes me sad I love summer. I HATE snow with a passion. Guess that's what I get for growing up in Northern Iowa, snow storms there were horrible. Well hope everyone is having a good week.

Oh wow mommy! That's so exciting! I also am going to be induced (if I don't go early) at 39 weeks. For me I like it because we live so far away from any friends or family. If I make it to induction, I will at least be able to plan on my mom or someone being here to watch the kids. Don't know what we will do if this girl decides to come early. Take the kids with us, I guess....

Zem, loved your post. I am not really really having any of that (although I have always been on the gassy side!), but my rib cage is expanding and it hurts!! I get weird tingling feelings along my rib cage and pains. My doc said the tingling is the nerves in the muscle expanding. This did not happen to me last time. This is unacceptable! I don't like the idea of another part of my body expanding!!
All these 39 week inductions. Exciting! I gotta finish up my list! Glad to hear no one else is getting rid of clothes yet.
Sorry about the rain and snow on the way. I have only ever lived in texas and cali so I am def a warm weather girl. :) I can't imagine negotiating snow.

Sorry you girls have aches and pains, I'm not too bad unless I've been laying for too long in the same place. But I'm completely over this tiredness, and I'm getting to the stage where I feel like an elephant. everyone asking if I'm due soon, no still another 8 weeks. I don't get pain in the nipple Zem but they do get itchy sometimes, I guess it's all just preparation.
64 days sounds so soon Mommymachine!
We're just moving into spring here but it's still cold and wet, we had one week of good weather but I'm kind of glad I don't want it to get too hot while Im still pregnant, not that it really gets hot here anyway.

bythe******- I would love to visit Australia someday... My grandma was from there, she got married to my grandpa during the war and moved here. She was from Brisbane. We still have lots of family there that I have never gotten a chance to know. So its a dream someday. It seems like we are all so close, but still so far away from having all of these little babies. I can't wait to start hearing birth stories. I love reading them. I even look around on the internet to read them HAHA. So what is everyones plans for birth? How many inductions, natural, or sections do we all have going at the moment?

I live in Tasmania, tiny Island at the bottom and would never live anywhere else. You should definetly come and visit Australia one day, Brisbane is nice very warm.
Natural birth here, my first was induced 12 days over no drugs, second was spontaneous 8 days early no drugs. So hopefully everything goes smoothly for another natural birth.
My DH is dying of man flu again *sigh* it makes me angry how a common cold can make him incapable of doing anything yet as a mum we just soldier on through our nothing would get done. Ok vent over.
On a more positive note I only have 4 days of work before maternity leave! Woohoo can't wait.

bythe******! I am sure you are not that big!! Tell everyone to hush. I was thinking of posting a bump pic again. When I picked up my son at preschool yesterday they all asked me if I was having a baby (the kids in his class). So I guess the secret is really out. haha We gotta post another round of bump pics! I'll get that started!
I love the man cold... ahhh, you got it from this video right?
man flu - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EElqrgk4N0)
So funny! I think this video was the only thing that got me through my husband's last sickness. They do seem to go on forever- right? His last one went on for weeks. Man, had I had it by the end.
Yay! On your 4 days of work left! What do you do? Hoping you are not on your feet too much. I am working right up till the end because I work from home and usually am not too busy. Plus I don't get paid maternity leave so I want to go right up till the end to keep getting $$$! :)
Zem, I only have one other labor besides this and my water broke right on my due date. I was "natural" but got an epidural. Does that still mean natural? I am not a pro like you with 4 other deliveries!! You and mommymachine are amazing.
Weather here is good. It usually gets warmer in LA in Sept and Oct (compared to the summer) but the heat wave went away and it has been pleasant.
I have never been to Australia either, but would love to go! It does sound so lovely.
zem7
September 18th, 2013, 09:42 PM
Yes by natural I was meaning, letting the body go into labor on its own. AND if I am being honest, I have only had one of those, number 3. My water broke at 38ish weeks (can't remember the exact day) but contractions never did start. I have had pit and an epi with all 4 deliveries. This time I am sooo hoping that I go on my own (before 39 weeks) I would love to see what a "natural labor" feels like. I can't imagine it being much worse than what I already get with the irritable uterus. I think if I could just go on my own, I could handle the labor, but we shall see.
I have tried to post a picture on here a few times but can't seem to do it for some reason. I think it may be because I am not an actual member (don't pay) just a user. I saw on some other places on here, ladies sending a picture to one of the other members for them to post a picture. Maybe I will have to ask one of you ladies to do that sometime. I could send it in an e mail or something. Unless, I can figure out how to put them up lol.
Oh I think I look huge lol. My husband tells me all the time I am huge, how nice honey lol. about 3 weeks ago I had someone ask when I was due. She looked like she was going to have a cow when I told her I wasn't due till the end of Nov. HAHA. I didn't think I was that big!
Anyone get any new stretch marks yet? I only had a few from my last pregnancies. I have some small ones on my boobs, but they cover easy. Also have some on each hip, but that's about it. Hope not to get anymore this time. The ones that I do have are getting darker again though...

Yes just like that Lizzie, if the world was run by men every thing would collapse when they get sick. Honestly yesterday he didn't even put the breakfast dishes in the dishwasher. I got up got the kids up and ready, breakfasts, lunches took them to school and grandma's did a day at work luckily grandma drops them back off on a Wednesday so I don't have to do pickup. Then I made dinner got them bathed and in bed then cleaned up the kitchen, went and got him cold and flu tablets walked the dog then I could finally sit down. He slept and coughed and spluttered then kept me awake half the night coughing until he went to sleep on the couch.
My job is pretty cruisy, I only work 3 days a week and a lot of it is spent on the computer and microscope. I'm actually a scientist working on research into the Tasmanian devil and a horrendous transmissible cancer that is killing them all off. It is very interesting but I'm not sure I'll have s job after maternity leave because we have lost funding. I'll have 8 months paid leave before I have to worry about that though.

Bythe******! Your work sounds so interesting! And you are a scientist? Me too. I am a chemist, actually (but my husband does microscopy!). I used to work in a lab on this X-ray equipment that measures trace metals and then I started working for the manufacturer of the equipment. I work from home. I used to travel a lot, now not as much because they moved me to part time. They would like me to travel more and I don't want to travel at all! I am not sure how much longer they will keep me on, but we will see. :)
You get 8 paid months??? That is amazing!! The US is so behind the ball on that. If I weren't part time I would get something from my company, but because I am, I won't see anything from the state of Cali or my company. Boo. Not that it would have been full pay anyway.
You had a full full day with your man flu hubby. Mine is so spoiled because I do work from home and have our son in preschool 3 days a week, most (if not all) the cooking, cleaning, etc, etc falls on me "because I am home". Actually today he is not supposed to go to school, but I paid extra and sent him in because I have multiple conference calls today and so tired of trying to get work done and entertaining him. I am still going to the gym and it is really wiping me out (in addition to walking the dog, house hold stuff, etc). I might need to humble myself and cut back.
Zem, I had an induction scheduled (my mom talked me into it because she wanted to be able to book plane tickets to come), but he came on his own 1 day before. My OB predicted that... she said they "don't like it when you give them an eviction date" ha. I had started contractions when we got to the hospital. They were painful, but I was trying to hold out. Then they started the petocin drip and they were so painful I wasn't really getting any downtime between contractions. So I quickly caved and got an epi. It was past midnight at this point and my husband and I fell asleep. They woke me about 6 am and said they had taken me off the pitocin in the middle of the night and everything was moving well. I started pushing at 9 am the next morning and 10 mins later he was here! (I wonder now why they had to put me on pitocin in the first place? Maybe I will ask to not be put on it this time since I didn't really need it witht my first?)
Zem, message me if you want my email and I would be happy to post your bump pic!
Sorry for the long post girls! Venting!! :)

That's funny we are in similar lines of work isn't it. Yes we are so lucky with our paid leave here, I get 12 weeks from my employer then another 18 weeks from the government. It certainly takes any stress off, I also have a bit of rec leave I can use.
You must be exhausted Lizzie, there is no way I could survive a gym session. But you must be really fit, it should help you with labour.

Totally making up for the beginning lol. Rozline sounded good, he wasn't able to tell if she is head down. She was moving a lot and I agree she is a hard one to figure out how she is sitting. We will do a US when I am 37 weeks to make sure she is head down. At times I think she is, but others I think that maybe she isn't.... I am 31 weeks tomorrow! So excited to be one week closer. Wow quiet in here again. Well we went to visit my family and celebrate 2 birthdays for my niece and nephew this weekend. It was nice to see everyone. Took family pictures, so I am excited to see how they all turned out. I found out I am having HUGE issues riding in the car for long periods of time. We had a 4.5 hour drive. I was in a lot of pain about half way through lol. Hopefully I can still make the trip with my husband and our friends when I am 34 weeks. After that car ride, I hurt for almost the entire next day. I am feeling better now, but still in a lot of pain, but i think this is my normal pain... I so hope I can make the trip with everyone in a few weeks. I don't like being stuck at home.
So my last apt. was 2 weeks. BUT when they set up my next one it was 3 weeks. Just wish they would be a little more consistent... Its not like it is a big deal, but I hate having to worry if I am missing something because they change the weeks around so much! lol

We went on your "big fancy holiday" as my husband called it. haha Instead of going up north (6 hour drive) we decided just to go to north san diego (~ 2 hour drive). It's not as long as you zem, but I was fine. Actually, my husband stopped to use the rest room and I didn't? haha. We had fun, but back to the grind now.
I need to wash her clothes. I have my 35 week ultrasound on Wed and I figure after that it's a go! I did already buy some new bedding (well, my friend bought it for me because she gets an employee discount at land of nod) so that is coming!

I'm loving maternity leave and the holiday was good except I was still recovering from the flu. I'm still coughing now, it was a horrible one. I feel kind of bad not giving much sympathy to my dh. The day before we left I was having trouble breathing, I was so worried but I think it was just the baby being high and a blocked nose and a bit of anxiety thrown in. I went to the dr and my chest was clear and my stats good, feeling heaps better now just lacking energy and motivation. I really need to get things organised.
The plane trip over on our holiday wasn't the best, I had the kids on the plane by myself as my dh took our car on the boat (I knew I'd get seasick) it's only a very short flight (less than an hour usually) but they'd had gale force winds all morning. It was a pretty bumpy ride, the boys were so good ds 1 loved it he was yelling this is so awesome, ds 2 went green said "I need to vomit" vomited into the bag then went to sleep. It was quite adorable if not a bit gross and pretty mature for a 2 and half year old, no crying at all. Luckily the rest of the trip and the ride back went much better.
So I woke up with a bit of an upset tummy, I'm pretty sure bub moved a fair bit in the night as things just feel different. I'm not sure if she's moved to a better position or not. I wasn't sure if the tummy upset is from that our starting days yesterday.

Bythe******!! That sounds terrible! I am so sorry you were so sick. Meant to mention that. (I do that all the time, get on my hubby/DS for being sick babies and then I catch and think... oh, this is bad.) Although the difference with us ladies is we continue on and the world doesn't stop because we are sick.
The breathing thing is scary. I have felt like I can't breathe sometimes and it is so scary. Glad you went and had it all checked out. I sure it was the perfect storm with the flu and pregnancy.
The airplane ride sounds awful. I just to fly all the time for my job. I hate turbulence. It is like my dirty secret. I try to play it cool, but actually I am freaking on the inside. :) Sounds like you all handled it well. I get sea sick too... not sure I would take a bumpy plane ride or a boat tho. The throwing up and going to sleep is darling. He did so well.
Did you camp? Was that what I remember? My sister in law organized a 1 night camping trip this weekend close to here. I said I am out. I can barely get comfy in my bed. It's my rib cage! It's so painful. I must be carrying her higher than my son. I never had this before. All night it hurts to lay on my side and I have to lay on my side and then my rib cage is expanding.
Anyway, DH taking DS camping. I was excited about a night off, but then remembered my friend asked if her 13 year old son could stay with us that night as they are going out of town. Not like I had big plans anyway. She says he will just play on his computer and leave me alone. I am just excited about watching what I want on TV and maybe taking a bath. Exciting times!! :)

Hi, guys! You are sweet. I really am feeling big. I am telling you it's just because I am tall, sturdy girl. I carry extra weight well.
I had my 35 week ultrasound this morning! She is measuring good. They estimate she weighs 5 lbs and 13 oz. She said that is a little heavy for 35 weeks, but it's totally fine. And she is still a SHE! She said, yes, she is definitely a girl. I saw the labia, the hole enchilada, so to speak. Yay!! I think I am really finally convinced. :) She was still head down, but my doc said no guarantees she will stay that way.
Zem, I still don't think I could camp even with air mattress. You are brave! Your MIL is coming tomorrow? Will she come back when the baby is here? I am discussing with mine when to come and help. She drives me crazy, but of course she needs to come. :)
zem7
October 9th, 2013, 08:42 PM
Yeah we think that she is head down now, hopefully she stays that way!! She still flips around sometimes, but usually only for a few hours.
I am hoping that I will go on my own before 39 weeks. If not I will have an induction. Simply because it will be easier to plan things with our kids and family. We moved to a different state for a good job that my husband got. BUT that means we are at least 4.5 hours away from anyone we know! So if I go on my own, we don't currently have any plans other then hope someone makes it here in time for us to go to the hospital. Or we will just have to bring all 4 with us... Not looking forward to that option lol. We just got our house last Jan, don't know any of the people living around us yet to ask if they could come over and sit with the kids till family got here.
Yeah my MIL will also be coming back when we deliver. She usually stays with the kids (has for the last 4 babies) till I get out of the hospital. I am sure my mom and dad will be down also. My mom has been to each of my deliveries. To be honest though, I hope she is late for this one. I know it may sound mean, but I just have never felt comfortable with other family in the room other then DH.
Makes me wonder if I do go into labor on my own, I have no idea what it actually feels like!!!!! I have been induced with all my other 4 and I have a irritable uterus. So will I know when i am in early labor? My longest labor was like 8 hours.....lol Currently that is the only thing that has me a tad worried. I guess we will see when the time comes. Knowing my luck though, I will make it to my induction date...lol

My MIL is just visiting for the day, taken the boys out which is nice. I think you will know you're in labour Zem, I was a bit worried because my first was induced but I knew the second time.
I washed all the baby clothes yesterday and today and have put some fabric up as wallpaper on one of the wardrobe doors. It looks great still a bit more to do before she comes but at least it feels like I'm starting to get organised. I have an appt worth the midwives tomorrow.

6 or less weeks. I am so excited lol!!
Good luck at the apt today!
May not be on too much this weekend, but I will be back. Can't get rid of me that easy haha. I am excited to see my DH and friends in the zombie run, wish I could join them. Maybe next year.

It was just me and my DH with the last delivery and we loved that... my mom is coming on Nov 14th... whether I have had her or not so we will see how it goes. I guess really if I haven't gone into labor she will stay her with DS, so not like she will be in the hospital with us. I totally get wanting some alone time.
Zem, I love that this is your 5th and you are worried about knowing if you are labor. :) My water broke with mine and if it helps, I knew exactly what was going on. I was in bed but managed to run to the bathroom. It just felt like a rubber band popped inside and I knew!
You will be running next year for sure! I play tennis and I just told my sister that it seems like I will never play again at this point. I will get back to it someday though.
Bythe******, post a pick! I love DIY decorating. The fabric doors sounds lovely! I am trying to pick a grey color for the shared nursery for mine. Update us on what the midwife says. I hope you are feeling better.

HAHA yeah, the only time that my water broke without being induced was with number 3. Sad thing about that is, contractions never started!! I still had to get pit. So I don't know what an actual LABOR contraction feels like lol. I wonder if it will feel the same as the ones I am having all the time, or if they will feel different. I have always heard that pit contractions are worse then actual contractions. So it makes me wonder...
LOL Anyone got the hospital bag packed yet? i am so bad about doing that, I always seem to be doing that right when I need it lol
Also need to start thinking about what to get my DS 3 for his second birthday. Its Dec 13 and haven't even been thinking about it!! BAD MOM lol. Haven't even thought of what to get any of the kids for Christmas. I need to get my butt in gear. Usually my DH and I wait and get all the shopping done in one weekend. Wonder if I will be feeling up to doing that this year with a baby or not. We will see I guess LOL.

Here is the fabric door Lizzie, it was super easy. My midwife appt went good measured 36cm and I'm 35w1d but not as much bigger as last time, she's head down but still a lot of movement. I also met together with a group doing a trial on low iron in pregnancy and am going to have an iron transfusion on Wednesday.

I had them checked quite a while ago and my vitamin d was really low, they told me my iron was low but not too bad. Then I got a call from these researchers, and no doubt it's gone down further. I think it will be good after birth too since I like to breastfeed for a year.
Have fun watching the zombie run Zem

Well we had a good weekend. The 4 hour drive wasn't too bad, but glad that we don't have to travel anymore till the baby comes. My husband ran in the Zombie run, he "died" lol. It was a lot of fun. Hope you all had a good weekend. I need some rest. Yesterday my legs got all swollen, haven't had that happen before. It has gotten better, but not back to normal.
Pit contractions- Sorry I shortened the name, its pitocin.
Ha! well what happened is. We have 4 children. Of the 4 only one of them was planned. LOL. Well the day after baby 4 was born I got a tubal ligation done. We knew we didn't want anymore kids. They did the ligation and the labs came back after they tested the tissue that it was an entire cut out of both tubes. So we were told it was a success. So we went on knowing we could not get pregnant again. Boy were we wrong!! lol. That comes up to baby 5, I just knew even before I tested that it would be positive. I even told my DH, who told me I was crazy. Well took 3 tests and sure enough positive. Had to have an early scan to make sure it wasn't a tubal pregnancy, everything was fine. My body just decided that we weren't done having kids, so it fixed at least 1 tube. After Rozline is born I will be getting a second tubal done at 5 weeks PP. This time they are going to remove the entire tubes on both sides. Dr. said if I get pregnant after that, it would be a miracle! So I guess that is the story in a nut shell lol. If you have any questions you can ask, I have no problem answering.

ZEM! That is such a crazy story. Goodness. I can't even imagine the shock. I have heard of people getting pregnant after a vasectomy, but I always assume they didn't wait until the tubes had cleared out. Never heard of getting your tubes tied (or they were cut?) and the egg still got through?? That is some girl you have got there! Amazing!! What is the % that it can happen??
My weekend was good, but a little annoying... DH was supposed to take DS camping. He and his sister and her family were going to camp up north of LA in Malibu. (To be honest I always thought this was a bit of a weird idea. I am so pregnant and didn't want to go. We werent sure how our DS would do, etc) But whatever if they wanted to go! So they found out there is a fire watch or whatever and you couldn't have fires at the camp site. So they all came and camped in our backyard. It was fine, I continued on with my plans of not camping, and my son woke up at midnight screaming, so nice that I just went out and got him and they weren't in Malibu, but my house is such a wreck this morning!
They tried to stay outside, but of course the playroom is wrecked from 3 boys playing in it, the kitchen, bathrooms. Ugh. I told my husband this sets me back 2 days worth of cleaning! Thanks! He says he will help clean, but I am the one that works from home and can't stand things in disarray, so of course I will end up doing the bulk of it. Oh well. It's family, and they had fun, but not only did I not get a night off, but it put more work on me. Booo.

They cut a section out of eat tube. It is a 1 in 10,000 chance. BUT most of the ones that do get pregnant end up being a tubal. Not many make it through. Yes it was quite the shock. If I am being honest, we were totally pissed off.... I know that may sound bad, but we had the next 5 years all planned out, now we can't do many of those things. It took me almost 2 months to become ok with having another baby. I am now excited, but worried about what it is going to be like having 5 kids. My oldest is 7....
Glad you had a good weekend, sucky that now you have all that cleaning to do.

Yeah that sucks you didn't get the weekend off Lizzie and now the house is a mess. I should really get up and do the vacuuming but I slipped on the gravel drive this morning and I'm really sore in the pelvis now and I think I might have pulled a muscle or something in my groin. The worst thing was I was holding my 2yo hand and I pulled him over too. I felt so bad, he banged his head but luckily only a little scrape.

I think it will be really great in years to come you have 5 kids all so close together Zem but I imagine it's going to be pretty exhausting for the next few years.
So do you just have 1 or 2 at school already?
zem7
October 15th, 2013, 09:46 AM
2 are in school, would have been 3 but this state has an earlier cut off date then the one we came from. Brooklyn is in second, Riley is in Kindergarten, and Blake would have been in preschool. So he will be starting next fall. Dimitri will be 2 here in Dec. so he isn't starting school for a few years.

Hi everyone. Zem glad you had fun at the run! I agree that this baby will bring so much love and joy to your life:)
Up here in Canada, I had a great thanksgiving. I'm not crazy about turkey but the fixings were amazing. Yum! My husband and BIL spent 14 hours cooking on Saturday to fill my freezer with ready to go meals for after the baby comes!
I am so ready to have a newborn. This pregnancy is my hardest yet and I am so ready to be done. I hope she comes a bit early. 37/38 weeks would be soooo nice...as long as she's ready of course:)
Wish we would hear from some of the other ladies, a lot of them must be at least full term by now!

I like thanksgiving, but also don't care to turkey LOL. We have huge family thanksgivings and christmas dinners. Usually around 25ish people. I usually eat everything but the turkey, we also make a huge ham that I tend to go for. In the US turkey day is Nov. 28th. My due date...lol. If everything goes to plan I will have Rozline by that point.

Zem, omg I loved how you said you were pissed. I would be so so pissed. 1 in 10,000??? Those are some ridiculous odds that you beat. I just can't imagine how fun it will be for you all though. So nice to have so many siblings, family, etc. Then when they all grow up all the grand kids you will have. Such a big fun life! Even though so much work now. :)
Glad you had a good thanksgiving, mommymachine. Another one that doesn't like turkey?? You guys are crazy!! I love turkey. The fixings are amazing, but the turkey is up there too for me.
My doc is going out of town for T-day, but she said she won't let me go that far so no worries. I am feeling so so big recently! I went to the gym this morning and my spin instructor even commented on it. (In addition to spraying water under my bike and making jokes about how my water will break in spin class. I can't even start to think about what it will be like with grand kids! LOL still too young. BUT my parents only had 3 kids. My brother, sister, and I. After this baby is born they will have 12.......LOL. With my 5 it makes me wonder what we will be in for ha. BUT I think my sister is going to be in for it. She also has 5 kids. She was only going for 4 but got twins with the last one. She has 4 girls and 1 boy!! lol Since the twins are fraternal they have a higher chance of having twins themselves. She may be in for a lot of grandbabies lol.
I told my sister when she got pregnant with number "4" that is was going to be twins. I even had dreams that she would have twins. When she found out she was I gave her so much crap. I guess me getting pregnant with a surprise number 5 is payback. She has been giving me as much crap as I gave her lol.
This pregnancy is so odd for me. I never got that second tri energy surge.. I have wanted to sleep pretty much all the time. I will be 34 weeks tomorrow, feels like time is starting to slow down now. After Halloween we have no plans made till after baby gets here. So I don't have much to distract me.
I am also still having severe chocolate cravings. Pretty much anything chocolate, especially dark chocolate....Its a wonder I haven't put on more weight!! Anyone else having cravings that have been there for pretty much the entire time? Oh and anyone having crazy birth dreams??!! I keep dreaming I will have her in odd places, or deliver her in our bathroom. I can't think of one that has taken place in the hospital. Makes me wonder if I will have an accidental unassisted delivery.

No Thanksgiving in Australia we have our Turkey at Christmas but I love it. Had another fall today :( we have a very steep rocky block and I twisted my ankle and fell forwards. I'm usually quite uncoordinated but I think the bump has made it worse. Nothing serious just a bit sore. Had the iron transfusion yesterday I think it will take a couple of days to feel the effects. Are you low on iron too Zem? May be why you are tired all the time, that and having 4 other kids to look after.
zem7
October 17th, 2013, 09:53 AM
Hope you are feeling better after the fall!!! I fell last pregnancy at 34 weeks. It was bad. Went into labor. They were able to get it under control though.
Nope no iron issues, they also checked my thyroid, since my mom has issues with hers. Everything seems to be normal. So i guess that is just how this pregnancy is going.
I feel so bad for my kids they have been watching more tv than usual.... I just can't seem to get into gear. I had like 1 or 2 days not long back where I felt like i had to get things done. Thought maybe I was finally getting back to normal, but nope, didn't last long! lol I am keeping the house some what clean, but not as much as I would like. I don't even have the bassinet out and washed yet! Ahh someone help me! lol. Hopefully the nesting will kick in and give me some energy to get everything done soon.

Zem, that is funny about your sister and the twins you predicted. Maybe your #5 surprise is payback? :) Sorry you never got your energy. I am sure it has something to do with the other 4. haha I am still feeling good. I feel like I never really lost my energy. I work from home so I just roll out of bed, but I have had 6:30 am conference calls the last 2 weeks. I thought this would exhaust me, but has been ok. Going to bed early with my son though. I have my moments, but still hanging in there. I crave things but honestly I craved things before pregnancy too. Nothing that sticks out. With my DS it was chewy things! Gummy bears in particular. This one has been more sweets, but less now I feel like. This one will be your last. Eat the chocolate, if you want it!
Bythe******, you take care! I can't believe you fell again. So sorry. I, twice in the last week, have rolled my ankle (I have always had weak ankles) and almost fallen, but haven't yet. Hope you are ok. It is totally the bump. I notice I have lost a lot of my balance when I do things. Your entire center of gravity is off!

Don't worry about the tv. I have been feeling really edgy and uncomfortable in the evenings but I find it better if I eat. zem7
October 19th, 2013, 10:56 PM
From everything I have heard from my MW and read online. EPO isn't a blood thinner. It does state that if you take blood thinners or BP medications not to use it. BUT not that it actually contains thinners. I will have to ask about this at my apt next week, but I am pretty sure on that one.
atomic sagebrush
October 19th, 2013, 11:11 PM
All essential fatty acids thin the blood. Things do not need to contain added blood thinners in order to act as blood thinners. The reason why they say not to take it with blood thinners is because it will thin your blood even more so and put you at higher risk of serious bleeding, even death.

I was only planning on inserting it vaginally anyway, but maybe I'll just stock with sex (I know my DH will be happy about that)
zem7
October 21st, 2013, 09:54 AM
For EPO I usually use it both orally and vaginally, but this time since I will already be taking the 5W I am just doing it vaginally. I have never had problems with bleeding, but if it is a problem the 5W should help with that. In the 3 pregnancies I have used it, I have seen great results with it. Some people it works for, some now. Just have to decide if it is the right thing for you. I am taking it with the supervision and support of my MW, so I feel comfortable using both of them.
Last night I was feeling around, trying to determine how Rozline is sitting. I feel a round lump down low and one up high... They both feel like heads, so can't decide if she is head up or down. As a joke I told my husband, if I didn't know better I would say that was 2 heads! lol. I know its not, but still! He said he would totally die if our one SURPRISE turned into 2! LOL. I did this right before we went to bed last night. Well ended up having a dream last night. I was in labor, but apparently father along then I thought. I was delivering in my bathroom (I have had so many dreams that I will deliver at home!!). Well I delivered the baby and was waiting for EMT to show up and felt the urge to push again. I was thinking it was the placenta, NOPE out pops another head!! So When they get there I am sitting with not one but two babies!! I woke up shortly after. Holy crap! lol Odd dreams.

My boy #7 is here! Ashton arrived this Sunday October 20th, by csection. I had developed preeclampsia also I have diabetes ,and lots amniotic fluid. I was on hospital bed rest since Thursday last week. My Ob wasn't letting me go home till baby comes. We actually planned my repeat csection for Sunday afternoon but my baby had plans of his own! Water broke in the early morning hours ob did csection right away! He weighed 7lb 8oz,20inches. Born at 36weeks 1day. Since he came 36weeks he was considered premature. He had trouble day 1 with low sugar they actually transported him 45 min away to another hospital that have a nicu. He was sent back here with me at the hospital I had him at. I can't have him in my room but am allowed to breastfeed and see him in the special care nursery. I should be discharged tomorrow but not sure about baby. If he can't come home they say I should be able to stay at hospital with him. I will post pics as soon as I am able to. Oh I didn't get that tubal so maybe after 7 boys I may someday get that girl :)

So we took the kids to get pumpkins today (we were going to do this last weekend, something came up). We all went on a hay ride and they went through a grass and hay maze. They also all got pony rides. After that we went and picked a pumpkin for each of them to carve later this week. I think they had a good time. Last night my hubby and I went on a little date, went and saw a movie, had some coffee at a shop, and just sort of had a lazy night out. Something we don't get to do often, so it is nice to get away from all the kids every once and a while.

I am glad you agree with me, mommymachine. I don't want to ruin the night for my son and who really wants to have their birthday on Halloween?
I feel like it goes so fast at the end! Just try to enjoy it. You will be here before you know it! xoxo

I will be happy to have this little girl any time AFTER Nov 7th lol. I will be 37 weeks at that point, so all should be well. My husband thinks I will make it to the induction at 39 weeks. I am hoping for 38 weeks, have had that number stuck in my head since I was around 13 weeks. Don't know why, it may just be wishful thinking lol.
Anyone think they will be the next to go? Its always exciting once babies from your birth month start having babies. It makes it feel like the end is near. I have a little over 3 weeks left. Haven't put up anything, may need to get moving on that lol. I think I may put my DH to work this weekend lol.
Its starting to get cold here, hopefully the cold holds out till after Thursday. I don't want my kiddo's freezing for trick or treating. They are so excited.
I know this may sound totally odd, but I am actually looking forward to birth. lol. I feel so much more prepared this time compared to my other 4. I feel if I am able to go on my own, without the help of pit. I could do it without the help of pain meds. Does anyone else feel excited, or am I just crazy? lol

Oh we also went and picked out her coming home outfit this past weekend. Well actually my DH picked it out. Its so cute lol. He also picked out the cutest socks and shoes. They are so small, excited to see how big she will be. I don't have big babies, my biggest was 7.5 pounds. So the cloths are newborn size, hopefully they fit. my smallest baby was 6.10 pounds and the NB cloths were too big! He looked like he was swimming in them when we brought him home from the hospital. Had to make an quick run to get him some preemie cloths!!
Anyone got a guess on how big they think baby will be? I have been thinking she may be my biggest. So am guessing she will be 8 pounds even. My DH is guessing 7.8 pounds.
Sorry for so much posting today! lol Just feel like a chatty mood i guess! lol Have a good night ladies.

I've had a few consistent BH too Lizzie they were quite strong the other night. I always thought the 1st of Nov for birth but now I'm not so sure, I hope so though. My DHs birthday is on the 8th and he doesn't want to share. My boys were 8lb8 and 8lb3 I have it in my mind that she will be smaller but I guess that depends when she comes. I'm hoping for 7lbs

Zem, so fun. I picked out an outfit for mine too. Your DH goes and helps you do stuff like that? What a sweetie. My husband would tell me when could bring her home in a blanket. ha.
My DS came right on time and was 7 lbs 10 oz. I am hoping the same for her, but she was measuring a little bigger during the ultrasound. We will see. I have a weird feeling I might go sooner, but hopefully that's just because I am not ready yet! I say Zem or Bythe******. :)
Glad to hear you have had some strong BH too. Mine used to come when I was doing something and it made sense. These were like you said, they were strong and a couple even woke me up in the middle of the night... for no reason. Yikers!
You sound ready, byth******. I definitely say you go next. ha My hubby is building shelves for the closet that I requested. I am going to get paint today for the room (finally decided). I need to get the car seat out. This is so me. I always pull everything together at the last second! ha.

Argh feeling awful, upset stomach :( woke at midnight last night with the worst heartburn ever and diarrhoea managed to get back to sleep then unwell again this morning. Not sure if it's things beginning to happen or not, feeling some mild contractions too. Don't think it's a virus as noone else has been sick and it doesn't feel like one.
