Ladies, please help before my head explodes!
I have read, re-read and read Atomic's PCOS essay until it is etched into my memory, but the more I read the more unsure I am about ever conceiving a little girl.
This is our last shot so I really, really want it to work - with a not-so-co-operative husband (tried to explain swaying to him - wish I hadn't bothered!) he is humouring me on some of the minor aspects (timing - to him - more sex. yay! way to get a man to co-operate, he started listening to that part)
Have any you ladies successfully swayed pink with pcos/taking metformin?
I am taking 500mg of met 3 x daily.
I am totally unsure which diet to follow, I am very, very sensitive to grains, pasta, rice - I just stop losing weight.
I have lost 24lbs so far in about 2 months - still have a long way to go but the best way for me to lose weight is a LOT of protein - I live off chicken, turkey, eggs, cottage cheese paired with green veg or salad. My understanding is that to successfully sway pink my protein intake would need to reduce drastically. Not sure what I would live on :worry: I'm never, ever going to be skinny - will I ever get my girl?:tissue:
I try incorporating the odd slice of bread or sweet potatoes but my weight loss stalls.
What should my main focus be? Keeping calories low - nutrients low - or concentrating on girl friendly foods - or all of the above?!
At the moment I hover around 1200-1300 calories a day and always skip breakfast.
What do my fellow pcos sufferers/met takers diet's look like?? I have been introducing lots of aspartame in to my diet and switched to decaf tea/coffee. I drink a fair bit of semi skimmed milk and ensure I have cinnamon every day.
For PCOS - is timing important? Which method is seen as most successful? I have a long yet fairly regular cycle thanks to the metformin. We are going to start trying after my next period which will be next week. I am so unsure whether to DTD every other day/every day and then stop a few days before O or...?
Also, last Q for now I promise...any supplements I should be taking or anything else really important that can help my sway??? I was taking a regular pre natal multi vitamin but have stopped now and will be taking just folic acid. What about cal-mag?
I would be eternally grateful for any advice - thanks in advance!
