Actually all 3 of our boys had their legs wide open, and both girls have had them crossed politely hiding their bits hahaha.

Same with our two boys! As soon as they started scanning the first thing they'd always get without fail was a butt up the screen with our boys :P This one is so uncooperative when it comes to her legs xD

Expecting #3 (and last!) by March-April 2014

Well, it's 10 days till I find out what we're having... If I was already stressed out what happened today at my DS1 school has put me over the top...

It's a small school where I take my son, who just turned 3, twice a week just so he can socialize a bit with older children and practice spanish. Turns out all of his 9 little "classmates" are boys. So oddly, I find, out of 10 boy moms there's only 1 that has a younger DD, 7 of us have 2 boys total and there's 2 who have only the 1 son. I'm the only one expecting.

So today I got to hang out with them and their other children because of the Halloween celebration, a room full of boys and one lonely little girl.

Anyway, I'm not really close to any of the moms, just a Hi when we cross each other there, so I was really surprised when all of a sudden I was being bombarded with questions and comments today. From "I would never be able to cope with more than 2", "You know you are just getting another boy right?", to "Thank God I didn't try for a third one, I know it would have been another boy", "My mother in law had 6
boys in a row", "You are going to need help when you get a third boy, I hope you have somebody that can help" (which apart from DH I don't).

The mom with the pp didn't say a thing, it was the moms with the 2 boys ALL of them surrounding me saying stuff like that. I don't get it. They're boy moms too, we are supposed to be in the same team, aren't we?

I REALLY hope to hear Girl in 10 days so
I can go tell them.

What a bunch of bitches!! Pure jealously, bet they'd love the chance to try for a third but they're probably under the thumb ;P Oooo makes me fuming!!!!

Tiggerian

Yea i was gonna say - bitches!

Sorry, but why would you need extra help with three boys!? I got 2 boys and can't really see how much more exhausting another boy would be - I doubt more exhausting than a girl.

I think, secretly they want to try for a third but have a husband who's pulling the breaks on their baby making, so they try to convince themselves they are making the right choice to henpecking you. Close your ears!

First of all, there's no reason you wouldn't be getting a girl this time. and secondly, a third boy is hardly going to tip the scales and make motherhood unbearable and unmanageable. Such rubbish!

What happened to just sticking to congratulations and how exciting!?

SoulSister

Things to say next time;
I would never cope with more than 2 - sorry to hear you are finding parenting tough, I hope you can find yourself some support.
You know you are getting another boy right - oh I didn't know you had X-ray vision! how cool!

As for needing help with a third baby, I personally found the step from 2 to 3 the hardest, but that had nothing to do with gender!

And actually having all of one gender is easier, because it cost less for clothing, they generally want to do the same sort of activities and room sharing isn't such a big deal.

Hope you hear pink, precious3!!

Precious3
November 1st, 2013, 12:32 PM
Thank you for your support ladies! Yes, they did seem bitter to me, I don't know if jealous but 2 of them seem to very bitter about having only boys. I'm actually very happy with mine. Although I know it helps that I still "have a chance" at a girl.. but I like to think I would eventually be just as happy with 3 boys.

Soul sister, I loved your responses, wish I had thought of something like that.. I couldn't come up with anything at the time, I just smiled politely. I was very surprised and confused, I had felt safe there of all places, lol.

I am scared to find out gender. Since the day I found out I was pregnant I have been subconsciously sure it is a girl. I didn't do that with my other 2. I know there's no way I can "know" what I'm having, so it must mean I want a girl more than I thought. Having all girl guesses for my nub has only encouraged this... So scary.

My nub if anyone has time to guess:

http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ultrasound-gender-prediction/34501-my-12w4d-nub-third-boy-girl-please-guess.html

Thank you for listening! I have nobody to talk to about this IRL.

I was the same precious. Deep down I didn't doubt this one was a girl and felt as sure about it as I was that the boys were boys, but I didn't dare to let myself believe it in case I was wrong. I was afraid the "blow" would be harder if I allowed myself to believe my gut feeling.

This is our last one too - we're applying to get my tubes tied while they are operating anyway (c-section). I think you do become happy with what you got, I think there'll always be that little wish inside you, so maybe that's why some of them sounded so bitter? My partner only wanted two kids too and I did feel really gutted about it, until he FINALLY agreed to try just one more time!

I'm still in shock. It's been what?! nearly 4 weeks and I'm halfway expecting them to say "no actually this ones all boy" when I got for my rescan in 2 weeks!

I think if we did have another one (and this one stays girl) I'd be just as happy with a boy as a girl.

I agree, that is a good nub shot. Both nub and skull look girly to me.
The not knowing drives me mad. If I lived somewhere where you could pay for private scan, I so would! Sod the husbands opinion. Hahha. Waiting was torture. I did the nuchal scan as late as possible to try and see a nub and the anatomy scan as soon as possible. Lol.

Sorry it took so long for me to come back and update. I've been so confused with my last ultrasound... The doctor told me he couldn't see what gender it was, but I am pretty sure I saw a protrusion. I'm sure I saw boy parts on the profile view (he said it was the umbilical cord, but I think he was just being nice). I didn't see anything in the potty shot, I did see three lines, but I think the umbilical cord was between the legs and made me think I was seeing something I wasn't. So right now I am pretty sure it's a boy. I have my true anatomy scan on the 21st, which I'm 99.9% sure will show boy. I've already bought quite a few boy clothes items (which has made me feel a little better). I wish I could have gotten a picture, but he was in such a hurry he didn't give me anything :(

Okay, so I feel like I am starting to go nuts. My doubt is getting the better of me and I'm starting to get afraid that it's not a boy. I think it's just because it feels so unreal to me because I have two girls and when I went into my ultrasound I was expecting to here girl, not boy at all. I'm having a really hard time believing it's true and I don't have my anatomy scan for 4 more weeks. I even bought a cute little boy outfit at the store the other day and now I'm scared and feel like I shouldn't have done it. I uploaded my ultrasound to youtube to get your guys' opinions. I have watched this video a million and one times (no joke, over and over again day and night) and because I am seeing the umbilical cord a lot and it seems to be near his penis I keep thinking that his penis is the umbilical cord. Can anyone please reassure me? Here's the video link. 15 week ultrasound, baby #3. Boy! - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4YI-Irqdjk&feature=youtu.be)

Yeah, that's cock n balls! I've scanned myself with the boys (vet nurse!) and have a pic of #2 son at 15 week
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b99/thehappypixi/IMG00508-20110210-2036.jpg

The bit above I think is cord, much bigger than willie...

tmbabcock
November 5th, 2013, 10:52 AM
Thank you Happypixi. I know I seem crazy cause you can see it do many times but my doubt just kept making me think it was the cord I was seeing over and over again. I'm honestly still in shock that it's a boy because I didn't ever really think I would have a boy. And the whole time leading up to that ultrasound I would not let myself even have a little hope that it was a boy. I didn't want to get my hopes up so when I went in there expecting to hear girl and walked out hearing boy my first instinct was to doubt that it was true. My husband actually wanted to ask if she was sure we were watching the correct ultrasound and what we were watching wasn't the previous lady's DVD. Lol

SoulSister
November 5th, 2013, 05:22 PM
Tmba, at 0.56-0.57 you can see very clear scrotal line. The line that goes from perineum though the middle of the testicles, the skin fold. It's straight, umbilical would be cord twisted. And you can see there is a little wille poking above the testicles. So a bulb shaped extension.
That's not an umbilical cord babe :D you can relax!
Easier said than done, I know! Lol.

Edited for autocorrect spelling! Grr.

SoulSister
November 5th, 2013, 05:28 PM
Kitty your scan sounds just like my first 13week one. I was sure I saw a penis, but the tech was adamant I was looking at the umbilical cord, but wouldn't confirm girl. Even though he briefly showed me 3 lines he wouldn't say for sure because the umbilical cord was through the middle of the legs and wrapped around the thighs etc.
by the 18 week scan the umbilical cord was not between the legs anymore so you could see the 3 lines, but he didn't take a good picture of labia.
Fingers crossed it's the same for you!

Had the consultant appointment today, i've got to go to the hospital side to give birth again, but it's where i had dd2 and they are lovely and it doesn't really feel like a hospital room so I'm quite happy with it :) i'm going to write my hypnobirth story this eve i think now i know where im going!

Got to hear the heartbeat too - took them 15 mins to find it though, little monkey was hiding at the bottom and the placenta kept getting in the way. I felt okay because i felt like i knew everything was okay, i think the poor midwife was starting to get a bit nervous though, bless her!

Got my next midwife appt a week on tuesday, then my 20week scan the tuesday after - the weeks are flying by this time!

I hope everyone is having nice relaxing times!

I can't believe the scan date is almost here! It seemed like time was just not passing and now it's less than 48 hrs away!!

I'm a little scared because I can't help myself from believing it is a girl. I have no idea how I will react if they tell me it's a boy. I know nub theory is not 100% and yet I can't seem to get it out of my head that this is for sure a girl. Scary.

I know we will be perfectly fine either way though. We have so many blessings. I have the best husband in the world, we have the most amazing, happy, loving little boys. I love being a SAHM and we have no money worries so far. Another child will be a huge blessing for us, it being a daughter would just be the icing on the cake.

I just wish I wasn't so sure about something that is up in the air, I don't know how hard I will fall if I do.

Thanks soul sister, it's been funny that at school the kids keep asking about the sex, I just keep saying you get what you're given, and I find I actually mean it too! A blue bump would be lovely, but 3 sisters would be fantastic too. Hubby still really wants it to be a boy I think, so it's mostly for him I hope we hear boy.

The time has flown though, 17 weeks today and we have the scan a week on Tuesday. I'm glad we've waited, even though it's driven me insane at times lol, because I feel quite calm with whatever gender we get.

I am hating the placenta being on the front though, I can feel barely anything and it makes me quite nervous, I'm dying to hear the heartbeat again on Tuesday at the mw appt.

Have been doing my hypnobirthing this week too, I forgot how easily it knocks me out lol!

Hope everyone is having a good week, nearly the weekend!!

Hi everyone!! Ribenaberry, I'm glad you feel in a good place about the gender. your family is just like mine. 2 girls with fingers crossed for a little boy :) I hoe we both can make our hubbies happy :)

AFM, well I have been feeling really worried about this baby. No idea why, but just have been worried that baby is ok and healthy. No reason to think that baby isnt. But just have felt fretful for days. ANyway my hubby organised a scan for me this morning, and bubby is fine and growing well. I asked the sosnographer to check the gender for me, and whilst he said that 15+4 is pretty early, and he wouldnt bet his house on it, he thinks we are having a little boy! Yay for me!! I will wait to really celebrate untl the morphology scan at 18-20 weeks, but I am hopeful now :) I have always thought this baby is a boy. so fingers crossed for me now!!

My official "gender scan" is on Thursday. I really want to be excited for it, but truthfully I'm not. I know what I saw at 17 weeks, no matter how much my tech says I didn't. I have no interest in putting this baby in the boys' hand-me-downs. This is my last baby, so I am going to spoil him! I think retail therapy will help me over come my GD...as long as I don't run into too many cute girl clothes...

My blood pressure is only 82/60 which explains a lot, I've turned into one of those pregnant women who can't even put a few books in a box without having a fainting fit. Google said it usually gets better around 24 weeks so fingers crossed it's not going to be this bad for much longer.

Hi everyone, I'm finally back online after bad nausea for what seemed like months! I'm 13 weeks and just had my NT scan. Tech said its a boy :tissue:
Was swaying for a girl but I guess dh's genes must be too male. ( no females in his family ) anyway, already MIL is making annoying gestures and sounds. When dh told her she went 'Aaaahhhh' and had her hands up in the air. I told dh this is exactly why I am dreading having 3 boys! Not because I don't like boys but because of reactions from idiots like his mum! At the moment I am feeling more cross than sad :s maybe that is one of the stages of the grieving process?

Bella29
November 19th, 2013, 07:40 PM
Oh goodus! I'm sorry the tech didn't say girl. But the nts aren't 100% reliable, so maybe there is stil a chance. But that's a bit of an insensitive reaction from your mil.... People just don't think about how their responses might make others feel do they.

Ribenaberry, how very exciting for your scan. I will be stalking!!! And how nice to hear the Hb!

Afm- I go for a booking in appointment at the hospital today. It's just to get my details with them, as I am planning a homebirth with an independent midwife. I just like to have all my bases covered in case of a problem. It's gonna be interesting doing it with the two littlies with me! Lol! Ah well circus's are fun!

Fantastic! Just discovered i've been overdosing on paracetamol for the last 4 days! It's my own fault, I though I knew it was 2 tablets every 4 hours, when in fact it's a maximum of 8 in 24 hours. I have no idea how many I've actually had in any 24 hour period, but it's got to be 10/12. I do know i've had 10 in the last 24 hours and was about to have another 2 an hour ago until I googled it. I've prob been doing similar each day as i've been waking up in the night at least once and having another 2 in addition to the ones in the day.

I am in agony with my throat, nothing is helping, the paracetamol was the only thing that took the horrible pain away and now I can't even have that. Honey, lemon and ginger is doing nothing, nor is any combination of them, throat sweets are crap, anything with any kick is not recommended in pregnancy and I can't even sleep because I end up drying all my mouth out and making my throat worse :'(

Sorry, self indulgent moan.

Have you tried manuka honey with a UMF of 15 or more. Take a teaspoon full straight ( with a plastic or wooden spoon) it's always helped me. Normal honey is as good as sugar, useless.

Bella29
November 24th, 2013, 06:51 AM
Don't stress to much. That isn't heaps over the recommended dose. I don't think you will have done any damage. Now you know, you will be more careful.

Ribenaberry
November 24th, 2013, 03:23 PM
Not allowed manuka honey in pregnancy so ive been told (not checked though) and a doctor friend of mine has reassured me baby will not have any affects from it at all, in fact i found an online study on pregnant women who'd needed treatment for overdosing and every single baby was fine, or had a condition wgich cant have been caused by medication. So I feel slightly better!!

I never realised how dangerous paracetamol could be!! I won't be dishing it out quite so easily anymore, and luckily I appear to have gone through the illness barrier and feel so much better today, I honestly thought my head was going to implode everything hurt so much without the paracetamol!

Thanks ladies :)

Well I am off for my morphology scan today. I'm 19+2. I am almost sick with nerves!! I have it in 2 hrs from now. I am terrified I will be really disappointed if they say a girl. I just really feel that if is gonna be a boy this time. Oh I hope I am right. But I am sick with dread that I am wrong. Fingers crossed for me girls.

Woohoo!!!!! It's a boy!!! Omg! I think I am in shock!!! There was no doubt. Sonographer said that's a definite big healthy boy! And you could def see scrotum and penis! No doubt about it.

Thanks hopeful and kitty :). Pretty excited! Still can't quite believe it. And it makes me slightly scared to carry a boy, because we have wanted one for so long. Does anyone else have those fears when they are carrying their desperately longed for gender?

Bubs is moving heaps atm which is nice. I have looked at boys clothes several times now, and still haven't bought anything. I am a bit baffled. I look at the girls clothes and I pick what looks pretty. But for a boy, they are all cars and spaceships and trucks. I feel like I almost have to pick a theme. Any tips from the experienced boy mammas??

Hiya ladies! Just to say I'm still here. We've just moved to a new house and it was a right malarkey to get our internet back up again. I'll be going throug hte thread tonight to update =D

With clothes, just pick what you like. You defo don't need a theme! I recommend dungaress and tights while they are babies (yes, tights on boys, because socks WILL fall off :P )

Fantastic news Bella!! Huge congrats, boys rock ;D
I really dislike pictures on clothes! Mine have lots of stipes and plain tshirts, jumpers trousers etc. when they were babies, tights and leggings are very practical and you can get them in some lovely neutral colours or even fun stuff like I have some yellow and brown stripey ones with lady birds on! I think anything goes, they're babies! I don't like pink full stop but if you've got loads then why the heck not?! Louis currently is sporting some pink spotty tights because they came in a pack of other neutral colours and I wasn't going to chuck em! Dungarees rock, defo need lots of those ;D

Thanks girls. I went and had a look at next online, and managed to find some really cute stuff that I really liked. I have brought a few plain onesies cos this little fella is gonna be born in May and therefore nearly winter here. It will be nice to rug him up :).

Hi Ladies,

I know this thread died a death really, but thought I'd at least update. Our not so little rainbow boy was born a week ago. A three hour labour, which unfortunately wasn't at home thanks to fresh meconium, but as he had the cord wrapped tightly round his neck, it could have been a problem at home.

He weighed a healthy 9lb 2oz and is called Sullivan Thomas.

Im completely and utterly smitten and enjoying having a baby so much more this time, I wouldn't swap him for the world, but in that its bittersweet as we had to lose our angel and my dreams of a daughter to get him.

This is definitely my last pregnancy, my body is wrecked after 3.5 pregnancies and I'm really struggling even a week after labour with the effects of SPD.

Huge congrats Northern:) he is adorable.

Thought I should give an update too. My water broke on tuesday, a few weeks earlier than expected. I have been at the hospital since then. The baby is fine and so am I, no signs of labor starting, so they are going to induce today.
I am just praying for the baby to be healthy!

I'm not too bad, thanks, if a little uncomfortable at times, especially during the night. At the last midwife appointment he was head down but it was free but is getting more and more uncomfortable so waiting to see if he's progressed any further on my next appointment on Wednesday. I still think He'll come late though...
