Like my post said, is there any way of testing for baby's sex before 10 weeks? Thanks!

I think for the best accuracy, 10 weeks seems like the benchmark and there is room for error before that. MaterniT21, Harmony and Panorama are the main 3.

Thanks nuthin! Are these tests easily available, expensive ? I'm trying to see how easy it is to get these in Australia

I'd ask your OB or google. Not sure.

Ok, I've looked it up and I'll need a referral from my doc. Or specialist.

An amino can tell you the gender but there are risks and many docs won't do them electively.

I don't know where in Aust you are, but in Perth there was one place that did it and it cost a lot, like $1000? Cause it is other tests with it. It may be less now, but also you had to wait 2 or 3 weeks for results.

I went to an early ultrasound place and got definite confirmation at 14 weeks, it was called fetal photos and cost $100.

Glory, I was really hoping to tell before 10 weeks. After that I could tell quite well with my 3rd at the 13 week scan. I was wondering if there's a blood test for like 6 weeks lol

There is no earlier test and it does take a week or two to get results.

Sydney Ultrasound does the Harmony Test for $520 now ... you need a referral and 10 weeks is the earliest you can have the test with results 2 weeks later, so you have the results when the baby is around 12 weeks.

Hi Girls,

Here in the UK, we are only told at our 20 week scan what the gender is!!!!!. I heard in the US, your sonographers (techs) can tell at 12 weeks.......... is that right?. Thanks

If you go somewhere like baby bond around 17 weeks a sonographer could give you a potty shot and probably will know gender too?

Thanks mulberry. Yes we can have private gender scans here at 16 weeks. I had them with both my boys and the sonographers were right!!.
I just read that in the US, the sonographers can tell at 12 weeks...... I didn't think that was possible!!. x

Hi :)

I'm new on here so I hope I'm writing this in the right place.

I've been wondering the same thing - I found this site - easyDNA - they claim to be able to tell from 9 weeks from a urine sample, and you don't need a referral. Has anyone else heard of/used this?

At 12 weeks, they don't go by potty shots, they look at "nubs" & their angle. Check out the ultrasound section of this site.

I wouldn't trust anything that involves urine testing for gender.

I would not trust any test except those done in a lab.
