I have had all day long constant nausea with this pregnancy from about 5 weeks :( much worse than last time. However, now I over 13 weeks I *think* it's started subsiding as it seems to be more afternoon or evening rather than the morning. Hope all of you ladies suffering badly don't have it for too long x x

Sorry ladies I've been MIA. I have been so sick with MS and ended up in the hospital due to dehydration they have change my meds twice and I'm doing a wee better. I still haven't scheduled my first appointment despite that I was supposed to go for follow ups with my doctor, but will be scheduling sometime this week before he gets on to me for not going lol. hopefully I can see my doctor before April.

So, went for an u/s today to get my placenta and SCH checked. I asked the u/s tech to check on the boy parts and make sure all was well, after I told her that MaterniT21 confirmed a boy. She was looking and looking and he was wiggling too but she said she wasn't convinced it was boy. WHAT?!?!? I finally feel good about having another boy (even though I would be tickled if it was actually a girl) and now she's not sure it actually is a boy?? It may just be too early right? I am not quite 15 weeks. She told me I have to wait a few more weeks to confirm. Aren't these tests supposed to be super accurate?? I feel like I might be getting set up for more GD either way. And then what if she didn't see something b/c there is something wrong??

coocoobananas
March 17th, 2014, 03:56 PM
Oooh, that's hard kell! Just think boy for now if you can as I think its a higher chance the materni is correct! If it ends up being a girl, awesome! But I'd try to not open yourself up to that disappointment again:/

Mrs_Incredible
March 17th, 2014, 05:38 PM
I am planning to pay £650 at 10-12 weeks for the harmony test specifically because I'm 38 & anxious about the health of the baby. I would have thought these tests were very accurate. If they get the gender wrong would they do a free retest to double check the health aspects? Xx

WantingPink
March 17th, 2014, 06:37 PM
If they got the gender wrong they would definitely do retesting (at least MaterniT21 would). KellBell unless your ultrasound tech is skilled in 15 week gender ultrasounds I would listen to very little about what he/she has to say about gender. Most clinical ultrasound technicians won't confirm gender until 20 weeks. If you are super worried I would go somewhere where they specialize in gender scans at 15 weeks. I went to a place where they will do a 15 week gender scan and the technician really took his time before he told me for sure. At that age they are very wiggly and have lots of room to move about and it can be very hard to get a nice clear shot and the parts are so small you need a really clear shot. Don't stress about it. Did your tech give you a potty shot? If so post it on here. Remember lack of boy parts doesn't mean it is a girl!!

Here is my 15 week gender scan last time around http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ultrasound-gender-prediction/27043-15-week-potty-shot-could-true.html

Take a look at this 15 week boy scan

I am new to post here. I visited the website a lot when pregnant with my 3rd DS and never dreamed I would be back. A surprise baby and our 4th! We have 3 boys and planned to be done. Life had other plans so maybe this will be our girl! I am prepared to hear boy but I am thinking pink :) can I be added? My due date should be around November 19 (I think). All my kids were born at 36/37 weeks so I may end up with a late October baby instead!

Thanks girls! Unfortunately, she didn't give me any pics at all this time! I go back on 4/10 for another scan. When I called my doc afterwards, they did tell me that it was too early to know for sure and if it still looked like a girl at the next u/s, they will redo the test or possibly do an amnio, which frankly scares me. But right now, I am just going with the fact that I heard boy and am very quickly falling in love with this little man inside me!

Kelle - ughh...I hate that you are in limbo land and what a shock. I would def be going for an elective to get confirmation.

I had my first appointment at the high risk OB and have started monitoring my gestational diabetes. I was so freaked out b/c I read that ealry diabetes can cause birth defects with brain or heart so I talked to the dr and she said I didn't have to worry about that b/c my blood sugar wasn't that high. Thank god!!!! So, now I have started dieting and testing bllod sugar 4X a day. So far so good so hopefully I can maintain OK with just diet!

Welcome acason! I too have a oops 4th baby. My third was an oops too and was a girl so it can happen!! I really hope you have a girl!!

Hoping you really don't want morning sickness but I know what you mean about wanting it to know everything is okay with the pregnancy. So far I haven't had any either and it is putting me on edge. The only symptom I have at this point is a super good nose. I am BF so not sure if that has something to do with it?? I don't have a first ultrasound until April 8th which seems like a lifetime away!!

I'm so glad MS hasn't set in but usually my symptoms don't kick in until 6 weeks. We've got alot of baby #4's in this group! woohoo we love our babies haha

I am already mentally preparing that this one is another boy I just feel like it is.

We spent the night in the ER on sat with my 18month old who spiked a fever that went up to 105.8...so scary but he is much better now.
My biggest complaint is exhaustion and the cramping or stretching feeling already

NCBeachyGrl
March 18th, 2014, 03:08 PM
Me too Tomgirl! It is so hard too b/c for some reason I have alot of ppl thinking girl and I just don't think it will be. My one friend swears by the HB wives tale (I have to say it did work for all 3 so far) and this baby has been 160 both times I have been to the dr. I don't really buy into it all but she really does so it is hard talking to her! I don't want her to get my hopes up or end up making her disappointed when I tell her it is a boy.

One thing that I noticed (symptom) in early pregnancy that was different with my girl than my boys is my boobs got huge right away. With the boys it was like they slowly got bigger over the coarse of the pregnancy so by the end I was wearing a D cup (I am normally a small B or large A) by the time my milk came in. With my girl I was a D cup buy the end of the first trimester. Everyone made comments and it was a little hard to cover up!!

coocoobananas
March 18th, 2014, 07:12 PM
I wish that happened to me for both reasons: having a girl and big boobs!!
Not happening here although I'm still breast feeding so I think that is hindering any potential growth!

I went for my 1st drs appt today and my dr said 'this is exciting' she's the sweetest and always knows what to say:) I need all the positive feedback I can get so I'm positive about it:) they of course are gunnin for a girl but she also said there's a good chance it's a boy:/

I seem to be the opposite with all my symptoms lol! I have been sick as a dog w/ the boys and my boobs seemed to explode immediately with the boys whereas w/ my daughter, it was more of a slow process. It was obvious w/ me too though every time b/c I am barely a B cup and by the time my milk comes in I am a solid C. My boobs were sore every time - that was a very early indicator for me every time that I've been pregnant, except the 1st time b/c I was just totally oblivious, she was a BIIIIG surprise!! It's sore boobs, nausea very early on (w/ the boys, but it came a little later w/ my daughter and was never bad) and a VERY keen sense of smell.

NC - my elective is on 4/10 and then my 20 week one is on 4/18. I tried to get in earlier but the receptionist that I spoke to said that they won't do a gender scan before 17 weeks. She is supposed to call me if there are any openings that come available the first week in April. SO, in the meantime, I wait! I am super worried about everything being ok developmentally. =/ At this point, I don't care at all about the gender, I just want a healthy baby!

With my boys I had horrible ms that lasted practically the entire pregnancy. With my girl it wasn't that bad but I did eat very differently to prevent the ms. The ms also completely disappeared at 15 weeks with my dd. I wish there was a way to know based on symptoms!! I have no patients right now... Super short with my kids:-( I hate that! I know they are thinking "what is up with the crazy woman"!

Tomgirl
March 19th, 2014, 01:54 PM
Has anyone else had trouble transitioning off the LE diet? After being on it for 6 months I find I'm just in the habit of skipping meals and going long times between eating. Part of it is I'm just so busy that when I stop I think oh no I haven't eaten. Or I get nauseous from not eating and that reminds me.

As for symptoms I never seem to get much before 6 weeks. My boobs look no different yet which I'm ready for them to fill out cause they are a sad deflated A right now. Hoping in the next 3 weeks they fill out cause we are going to Hawaii and it would be nice for those babies to be a bit bigger :)

Hi ladies, I had my 12 week scan on Monday and all looks good :) just the one with a good strong hb. I'm measuring 13+6 which is only a day or so out from what I was expecting. I couldn't see a nub and baby was being very stubborn, refusing to roll off its tummy lol. Just glad to have got that big milestone out of the way. :) hope you are all ok xx

yay kittybear for the good scan. Maybe it is a blessing you didn't get a nub so you can't obsess.

I had the strangest dream last night. I watched Dance Moms before I went to bed and I had this dream that was so real where Abby Lee was doing utlrasounds. I went back to her and told her I didn't get confirmation of gender so she handed be this big envelope. She asked what I wanted and I said is it a girl and she shook her head and said no, boy. It felt so real and I just kept saying oh my gosh, 4 boys! But then I was at peace with it and OK.

Strange pregnancy dreams!!!

I had a weird baby dream last night too. A nurse was holding my baby and he/she kept peeing all over the nurse. But she wouldn't hand me the baby, I have no idea the gender. It was so weird! Today the motion sickness started too. I get sudden waves driving to and from work.

Acason congrats on your pregnancy. My due date is nov 18!

I know EXACTLY what you mean. Some days I forget I'm pregnant, and I worry I've had a missed miscarriage.... But last pregnancy was the same and this 18 month sure is healthy as can be! Symptoms say nothing about health or gender.... Unfortunately!

yay kittybear for the good scan. Maybe it is a blessing you didn't get a nub so you can't obsess.

Yes I was relieved about that... So my pink dream is still there for now. We shall see what the next scan holds. I am still completely obsessed though! ;)

I had my second baby gender dream a couple of nights ago and it was boy (as was the first). The worst thing about it was it was a horrendous birth (lots of people/ intervention/ blood) then they kept saying 'vulva' so I thought it was a girl then I saw baby and it was all boy. I was so upset.

I woke up really shaken up, not just at the birth but at my reaction to seeing my boy. :( I know it's just a dream but it hasn't done much to alay my fears of how I will be when we find out what bubs is :/ I hate stupid GD, it is a pain in the bum especially when experienced with pg hormones!!! Good news Mrs I!! Seeing that first uls with the heartbeat and measuring correctly is very reassuring:)

I can't wait for my uls... I have been very on edge with this pg. Probably because I didn't have a period and it was the first time I ovulated. Just thinking I might not be hormonally up to speed (plus I am older). Just seems a little unreal to be able to get pg with no period and only DTD once!! My uls can't get here fast enough.

I actually read through this whole forum to get to know you ladies better. I love the support that you guys give each other and I'm so happy to be on this forum with you! I am not going to tell my family about this pregnancy until I go for my 8 week scan on April 21st so it will be nice to have someone to talk to about things. My dh doesn't think I can wait that long to tell the family but this pregnancy is different than my other two...I was a lot more relaxed then (being in my 20s). Plus, I don't even feel the least bit pregnant yet...it was also good to see some of u feeling the same way with a good outcome.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

I was also wondering if any of you are exercising or have exercised during pregnancy? What are some good exercises to do in the first trimester? Hopefully I can continue feeling pretty good and can continue to do some form of exercise to stay in shape.

Mrs_Incredible
March 21st, 2014, 06:21 PM
Not sure on the exercise, sure someone will be able to help tho! Now that I've seen the hb I'd like to tell my family as I've kept them in the dark since I fell pg in January. Mainly because my sister had her miracle baby at 33 weeks and even tho he was doing well, I felt it was her time to be enjoying her babymoon without everyone worrying about me. I'm only 6 weeks and I know seeing the hb is no guarantee, however if anything were to happen I would need their support. As I now know there is a viable baby there and I wouldn't be able to keep that quiet the way I dealt with the blighted ovum, which was never meant to be unfortunately. If that makes sense? I guess I just want to unburden the past 12 weeks to the ones I love the most. My mum and sis will be annoyed that I went though this without them I think. But they'll understand why. I don't want to tell the boys until 12 weeks for the same reasons, I'm still scared of a loss but feeling far more optimistic (really, I am lol) x

Yay Mrs I! Seeing the hb is a very good sign that all is well so def. share with those closest and enjoy it!!

I don't exercise either...I know I should! I know any kind of moderate activity is fine like walking, slow jogging (if you had been doing it prior to pregnancy), bike riding, etc.

What is everyone craving? I have had the strongest craving for milk! CRAZY!!

WantingPink
March 21st, 2014, 07:14 PM
I don't exercise during pg either. Wish I could. It makes my MS 10 times worse. Light walking is fine or house work or yard work but if I do a real workout forget it... puking!!

I wouldn't worry too much about having a baby a little later in life. I have been in my 30s with all my kids and so far (fingers crossed) they are all just fine. Being a little older does make me worry a little bit though so I know what you mean.

DH and I were just discussing today when we should tell people. We don't have our first uls till about 9 weeks and we probably won't tell anyone until after the MaterniT21 comes back. So for us it is probably going to be around Mothers Day. Not sure how happy our family is going to be. They were very excited with my DD since this is the only girl in my family and DH family however, both families have made comments about this baby being the last. I would like to think they would be happy but just not sure?? We have the money and we have NEVER asked our parents for a dime but my gut tells me they will think 4 is excessive. I guess we will see. My MIL comes from a family of 4 kids and my Mom and Dad come from a family of 3 kids. Seems like these days though everyone is having 1 or 2.

Anyone else scared to tell family because of the number of kids you have?

Mrs_Incredible
March 21st, 2014, 07:45 PM
I think my family know we will have another, although comments have been made in the past about being done!! But it's our not so little family, and I guess we're stretched with the ones we have, what's another lol!? As long as me and dh are happy, I'm sure everyone else will be. Except my almost 18 year old stepson, he's an only child at home, and I'm sure will be a little embarrassed that his dad is having yet another child at his age lol xx

Wanting pink - yes! I am scared to tell some of my family. My mom knows and was great and DH's family knows and they are good too. They did make some silly comments in a joking way but I think that is just how some people process things. But, I have not told my dad and step mother. They thought 1 child was enough, was shocked when we had DS3, and will be horrified about this baby. They say all kinds of stupid stuff like, "how are you going to handle it when DS1 goes to college and the others don't", "you don't ever need to get pregnant again bc you could die". Those are just the top things I have heard! I am dreading telling them!!!

Mlka I exercise my entire pregnancy. I walk, run, swim, workout with trainers, do bar method dvd's. The more I move the better I feel! I also have a physical job and the only way to last working the whole pregnancy is to keep strong.

I've actually lost a couple lbs since becoming pregnant due to working out a lot more. We leave for Hawaii in a few weeks and don't want to look all soft and squishy :)

There is a great pregnancy dvd I do starting around 4 or 5 months that is Pregnancy bar method. It keeps you strong and fit and is a great workout.

My Mom was really excited with #3 when I told her we were pg. She was just saying how she wasn't sure if there would be anymore grandkids and how she really wishes she had a GD. Well now that I have a DD I have a feeling she is going to think we are crazy to have another. One of the reasons I want to wait as long as possible. I can't bear any negative comments from my Mom right now. I know she won't hurt my feelings on purpose but I just need to get all my feelings in check before I deal with anyone else right now. Plus want to make sure all is well with this pg before I deal with family stress.

Coo coo, 3 boys at the min with another cooking!! The 4th boy on my siggy is how we finally got ds3 while "swaying" on ig! I'll need to redo that bit to make it clearer! I'm the same, my mums seal of approval means things are how they should be. I just texted my mum and my poor dad's still a bit shocked lol. He'll have 5 grandsons if this buba sticks, he only had me and my sister, so is loving teaching them golf, talking footy talk with my 10 yo etc. Hopefully I'll get a bundle of granddaughters to enjoy!! I felt so nervous plucking up the courage to tell my mum ... Silly but its a bit weird telling your parents that you have sex!!! She didn't think we were done and was really happy. Maybe it'll start to feel real? Don't want the big boys to know til I do the harmony test, just in case as they're old enough to understand xx

I told my mum at 7 weeks. This bubba is only our second and my DS is coming up to 2 years old now, so I don't think it was a massive surprise ;)
I haven't told my work yet. I'm dreading that as my (childless) female boss is a b*tch! Trying to pluck up the courage to tell her this week; wish me luck ladies lol!! :) x

Oh Kittybear that sounds like no fun. Women who don't have kids by choice often (not always) make those of us who do have kids feel like there is something wrong with us for wanting and having kids. I know lots of women who don't have kids and they always have something negative to say. I definitely wouldn't want one of those women to be my boss. Good Luck!!

I am sure your parents will be happy since you are having a second. Two seems to be the magic number. When you have none people always ask when you are having one, then you have one and people ask if you will have another, then you have two and people ask if you are done:rolleyes:

I love the comments others impose! Like it effects them in any negative way!
When we told my father in law he rolled his eyes and said "hope you can afford it" my Aunt said the same thing!

I told my father in law hey don't act like for a minute you aren't going to be pacing outside my hospital door as I'm pushing this one out! He laughed and said true but it took him a day to actually say congrats.

I had the funniest dream last night. I dreamt that my oldest sister gave me a baby present and when I opened it, it was a girlie doll and a pink sweater and I looked up at her and said but I'm probably having a BOY! haha so funny how our minds work!

Told my sister and she is so excited for us! And looking forward to her son having a wee playmate. There'll be 11 months between them. She was surprised I hadn't told her about the loss etc, but I stand by not wanting to have her upset while she was enjoying her newborn son, and I know she gets why I was so secretive! Next hurdle is getting to see an actual baby at 12 weeks! And the worry about baby being healthy! My mum is hopeful for pink. I've tried to tell her there is no chance, don't want her getting her hopes up lol xx

We have finally told all our family. Everyone is super excited and the only people who reacted slightly negative was BIL and his wife. They somehow make everything all about them and our nephew. His wife texted me saying "wow just heard some interesting news. Serious or is this an early April fools" then went on to ask if we actually planned it. Ugh. We didn't want to tell them for this reason, but then of course her very last comment to me before she stopped responding was "we always hear everything last".
But everyone else is super happy and excited! They are all supportive but of course all tell me they are praying for pink.

That's great, Tomgirl. I would love to continue working out. I'm nervous about doing anything but walking/ jogging so early but I am going to do some light weights and light cardio while I'm feeling up to it. I'll find a good pregnancy dvd and maybe do some yoga or pilates. I hear those are great during pregnancy. If only I can continue to feel this great for the remainder of the first trimester! I have so much energy, it's weird.

Oh, and have fun in Hawaii, Tomgirl!!!!

WantingPink, Mother's Day would be a great time to tell the family! I think I'll hold off until then myself. I'm not very anxious to tell anyone anyway. I just know they will make comments about it hopefully being a boy this time. My dh's family is worse than mine. They have been hounding me to try again for a son for years now...like it's that easy! DH is the only son so I feel pressure in giving him a son. My family is very girl heavy and so is his. At least I'm fine with having a 3rd daughter.

CRAZY!!

Beachy I ate 2 bowls of cereal today!! AND I drank the milk in the bowl, something I never do lol! I was like this with my first daughter...I craved milk the whole pregnancy. And I am also craving meat, beef in particular...and I'm not a big fan of meat (maybe that's another reason I keep getting girls...I dont know).

With my boys I always craved cheese fries, tacos/nachos, and hot wings. Pretty much anything spicy or covered in cheese. It is still early, but lately I want ice cream, cake, and brownies! I like sweets but have never been a huge sweets fan. It could still be another boy, but so far cravings are different than with the other 3!

Can't wait to see pics WP! I used to get all into baking and making things for kids but we moved in November and the month leading up to the move (DH ended up planning DS1 nd DS2's b-day parties...a FIRST!) and even now, I have lost all the will do anything over the top. Now I just buy store bought things. :(

I am feeling a bit better now that I am nearing 12 weeks. I have been so busy with so much to do getting ready for our trip. It is coming at the perfect time too since I am starting to really stress about the gender. When I first got pg it wasn't such a big thing, but as I am getting further along, I am really stressing about it and I want to stop!!

Thanks NCBeachy and Kittybear. No I don't do it professionally. It is just a hobby of mine. Over the years I get a little crazier with each one. These take all day for me to do so it isn't something that I do except for my kids and on occasion a close friend or family member.

Last time I was pregnant it was how I told my Mom we were pregnant and having a girl (all at the same time). It was so much fun. I took a heart shaped cake to her work for Valentines day (she thought I was just being nice) but when I put the cake down and she read it I thought she was going to cry. She just kept asking everyone for a knife and couldn't wait to cut into it. Of coarse when she cut into it, it was bright pink!! It was an awesome surprise.

WantingPink, I am having moments when I'm extra cold and then I feel like I'm having hot flashes! Last night I had to sleep under two blankets.

Last night I was so worried because I saw some pink discharge on my tissue after I wiped, then nothing. And then this morning I had brown spotting. I had this in my previous pregnancy but it's always scary to see any spotting during early pregnancy. Plus, I've been cramping a lot. I have an appointment to make sure everything is ok, which I'm pretty sure it is. I can't wait for my first u/s and to the hear the heartbeat so that dh and I can feel more at ease.

Ladies I am cold and hot too. I will be shivering cold and then I feel like a hot flash comes over me! My MS has been weird. Sometimes eating anything triggers it, eating nothing triggers it, and sometimes it is just pizza or something along those lines that triggers it. There are times I eat pizza and I am fine. So frustrating! I know with DS3 I was really bloated and had a lot of painful gas build up, but I don't remember as much MS feelings. The one food I have found that has helped ease it some is green apples. I bought a huge bag and probably eat 3-4 a day right now.

How far along are you Acason27? I hope I don't experience MS this time around. I never had it with my dds but I know all pregnancies are different. I'm not having many symptoms thus far. Its weird because I have more energy now than usual. I hear that most symptoms begin about 6 wks.

MIka I hope all is well! Again I spotted for the first month with DS2 and that was by far my easiest pregnancy. He is a very healthy 2 year old now. I have never experienced this bad of MS with my other 3. DS1 I have a few moments, DS2 I had no MS, DS3 I had painful bloat, and this one I always feel ill. I am getting horrible motion sickness, I feel sick if I don't eat, I feel sick right after I eat, and always just feel like there is a rock sitting in my stomach. I love coffee and was able to drink it with my other 3. Now the thought turns my stomach and I have started drinking tea. It is crazy how different each pregnancy can be but so far, this one has sucked the most. I feel like I already have a small round belly too. I am still in a bit of shock because this DC really snuck in there! I have been trying to figure out when it happened ha funny thing is after DS3 I didn't feel done. I felt like I wanted/would have more but DH was 3 and done. I told everyone we were done with 3, but it never felt "right" saying it. Maybe I have a good instinct ;)

With this pregnancy so far, along with the spotting, I've had some really painful gas cramps. I thought I was having a miscarriage! Anyone ever experience these?

I spotted a lot this pregnancy in the beginning never have in my other 3 and I was having a boy, so maybe it's a boy thing good luck

Thanks, Ladies! Aftmjt, I hope you're right!! This never happened with my girls. Neither did the cramps. Plus, with the girls my breasts were so sore and I tinkled every 15 minutes...so far I am not experiencing any of that. DH is experiencing all of the fatigue so far (ha,ha) and I feel very energetic. So my fingers are crossed that this is my little man! I'm still very early so we will see.

Yay Disney! We took the 2 older boys for the first time right before we moved from Florida back in December. It was amazing seeing those little faces light up at the castle and Mickey :)
I find no matter what I eat I feel awful. Only thing that helps I found is chai tea. It also helps my caffeine headaches. Maybe it is a girl. Everyone keeps saying that because it is such a surprise pregnancy and I guess everyone just feels it is our turn. I already have a boy name picked out though.
MIka, I had the absolute worse painful gas with DS3. If I moved it hurt so bad. I just laid around all the time on my stomach hoping it would go away. So far none with this, but the MS is just as miserable. I am ready for us all to be out of this stage and get into the part with cute bellies with little more energy!

Yes for sure coocoo! I am starting to drive myself crazy! I am really excited about all the yummy food too and the fact someone else will be cooking for me at every meal! Since I have been on my diabetes diet, I have lost weight and struggling to keep my #s good. I'm looking forward to all the exercise at Disney to help my #s and hopefully sneak in a few cheats!

I felt this exact way, that I felt like I was going to have another but I would never have the guts to get there consciously so I guess I'm not surprised this happened although surprised of the chances of it happening, like it was meant to be!
I have had very painful cramps from gas but I have had it before so it's not that new to me. From being so sick, I have had a hard time with fluids so pretty sure that's why things are all messed up!
I can't drink coffee but for some reason can drink iced coffee. It's easier for me to drink than water! Very strange, but did the same last pregnancy!

Coocoo I feel the same! Like I will just always make boys. With DS1 I had no preference or feelings. DS2 I assumed may be a girl, because that is how everyone in both sides of our families were. Here was no 2 genders in a row except for my Mom's side she is one of 5 girls with only 2 brothers. When I saw my BFP with DS3 I knew he was a boy. I tried to convince myself he could be a girl but I knew he wasn't. I can't describe but I just knew. This time I feel like it may be a girl. I feel like I am trying not talk myself out of thinking it is a girl. But it could just be my deep desire obviously so I don't trust it. But I did notice when pregnant with DS3 more families of 3 boys then a girl than I did 2 boys and then a girl. There is always hope I guess! But my GD baby is DS3 and he is the light of my life. He is so cuddly, adorable, and sweet. He is a 100% Momma's boy. His pic is my profile pic on here.

He is SO adorable, Acason!! I seem to notice way more women with lots of boys than girls on this site. Most women are swaying pink. My mom had 4 boys and me so I just KNEW that that I was going to have boys...but obviously didn't. June/July seems SO FAR away! I'm gonna be so nervous at my scan appointment.

Have fun at Disney, NC!!!

NC have a blast on your vacay! I'm on count down mode for ours. 13 days to go!

Mlka I have had horrible intestinal cramping with this one so far and today I seem to have a pooch. My DH got all excited and started rubbing it. Mostly I think I just look bloated which isn't great for bathing suit wearing in 2 weeks time.

Pineapple is the thing that is getting me through my queasy belly. It's literally the only thing that actually tastes GOOD!

Also I have noticed a horrible reaction with this one so far. Every time I eat chocolate I break out in blisters in my mouth. I had this happen with my last pregnancy any time I ate anything processed but CHOCOLATE??? Not my wonderful sweet love affair with chocolate! It's my one cheat of my day!

Thanks for sharing that article, so hits home! We get the but where will you put a 4th? What I tell people who judge on money is money comes and goes but family is forever!

Yes Cocoo this chocolate thing is very displeasing! Although I am finding I can do some forms of chocolate it just depends on how processed it is. The purer stuff I seem to do ok with. Although my usual craving for it isn't so present. It seems to be almost every time I eat my tummy gets pissed off. Pineapple doesn't upset it and scrambled eggs I can handle. I ate a salad last night and almost blew chunks after. Turned out the cranberries I added my tummy did NOT like! I could literally feel the acidity of my mouth change with each bite until I had to just stop. Pregnancy does such weird things to the body!

Oh and I know someone else mentioned being freezing. I walk around my house in sweats a sweatshirt AND my big bathrobe. I have always run super hot with my other pregnancies my husband usually can't touch me cause he thinks I'm burning up. Not this time so this is new for me!

Could be twins mrs I!?! ;) carameline in the previous dues dates club (and I know her from boy/girl on BC UK) recently found out she's having non identical twin girlies! She said her ms had been terrible but she also showed super early. Mine is kind of the opposite as I'm coming up 16 weeks and still don't really have a bump (horrible constant nausea though) :/ it was the same with my first (not the ms though) so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, just can't wait to look pregnant rather than just feeling fat!! Swayed Girl
Staying team green (although I do have fairly boy like 12week scan pics!)

Hello to everyone and hope that your pregnancies are going well. I am 14weeks today and boy has my bump popped out. Totally nervous too as I have a bridesmaid dress to fit into in a couple of weeks!!!

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is feeling well this morning.
I'm still nervous about the spotting but I keep hearing positive feedback from people who have experienced it with good results so that has relaxed me some. I'm just taking it easy for now.

Welcome, JenB! Hopefully, you will still be able to fit into your dress! I can't wait til I see a baby bump! I just wanna get to that point where I can stop worrying...if that ever happens...

Thanks mlka, sorry to hear about your spotting. How far along are you? I have had spotting with two of my healthy pregnancies, including this one. It last just over two weeks I think and at early scan all was good at 7weeks. Fingers crossed for you, im sure all is fine x

Thanks, JenB, that's very encouraging! I am only 5weeks along and have been spotting for a week now. It's even been more than spotting on occasion but nothing heavy and no cramps follow so I'm not too worried yet. My appointment not for two weeks...I will feel so relieved to hear his heartbeat for the first time.

I have my NT scan on April 11th. I am nervous because I feel I know nubs pretty well that I'll definitely have an idea:/

I passed the idea by DH to stay team green and he was like... NO. Since we already have one of each gender and have all the stuff I thought it would be fun but I guess not. He is all worried about where we are going to put this baby since we have a 4 bedroom house. I told him we should make a bedroom out of the loft area upstairs and that way it wouldn't matter what gender. He still wouldn't go for it... Oh well:(

Hi ladies! I feel still so far from my Scan, I haven't even had my first appt yet. April 11th I have my first and I should be around 8 weeks then. Getting a BFP so early makes the time crawl by! I had a few days I felt pretty good and then the constant ms came back. Yesterday was my day off, ms combined with a migraine was not a good day. I feel a little better today but feel like I have an aversion to every kind of food. I didn't have these bad of aversions with my other 3. The coffee aversion is killing me (why I had a headache yesterday). I found the days I have had chai tea were the best. My kids babysitter gave me a box so I will see if that is the cure for my aches. Can't wait to hear about everyone's scans and hope everyone starts feeling better! Also, holy moly I have a small baby bump already!

Hi Ladies,

We had our first appt this morning and got to see the lil bub's heartbeat!

My midwife did a papsmear as well and the rest of my day has been rough with bad cramping and some spotting which she said she had made me spot but it was fine.

ms has come in waves last night it hit me so hard all I could muster was a handful of french fries and sprite two things I NEVER EVER eat! Tonight all I wanted was french fries haha so I found myself at the Wendy's drive through ordering just french fries! I told my hubby that I shall name this baby french fry baby!

I'm going to be a house soon. I've gained less than last time by this point but since I've been feeling better, I want more good but also need to eat every couple hours to feel ok, errrg!

I think I will tell my boys after my scan next Friday. I'm curious how they will react! They wanted more siblings about 6 months ago but I haven't heard anything since, so not sure!!

Hi girls
Can I please join this thread- I am due with my third on 10 September. I have 2 boys already and desperately hoping for a girl, although preparing for a boy as technician guessed boy at 13 week scan.

We didnt sway as ive only just found this site and didn't know about swaying..although I'm a vegetarian anyway, drink loads of diet coke and only dtd twice month we conceived around ovulation so maybe a bit of natural sway?

Since hearing the technician guess boy I've had GD - I've always wanted a baby girl ( wanting both Ds1 and 2 to be) and 3 children was always our limit so feel this was my last chance.

Welcome dream pink!! Hope you have your little girl in there. Three was my limit also and I remember that feeling of thinking it is a boy. There is still hope. Did your tech tell you why she thought boy?

dream pink
April 2nd, 2014, 03:47 PM
She just said based the angle she would guess boy- but I'm not convinced she had long to study it as baby had its back to us most if the time and only moved position in last few mins and still remained pretty curled up- but then again maybe she saw something obvious.
I was so certain I wanted to find out but when she said she thought boy I felt utterly crushed and the only thing keeping me going at the moment is the glimmer of hope that she may have got it wrong. Of course I will love my baby no matter what but I desperately wanted a girl ( I'm one of 4 sisters and have always been part if a girlie family). Our little girl has had a name ever since my husband and I met and it just doesn't feel possible that shemay never be here with us.
Are you girls all going to find out?
Thanks for your support- I really appreciate it. Xxx

It's bizarre thinking I won't have a girl even at this point when I was really starting to move on. It's weird that you imagine this being and it just doesn't happen. It's a hard pill to swallow.

I'm not going to find out this time only because I was soooo sad last time and that guilt was too much. I feel like I would handle it better this time as I am definitely more realistic that I'm most likely carrying a boy. I've never had a suprise though and I'm kinda just excited to meet my baby not her or him... Which is a huge step for me:)

WantingPink

Dream pink you sound like a lot of us on here. Desperately wanting a girl. I know how that feels and I shed lots of tears. One of the things that helped me the most was reading other peoples posts about their GD and knowing that I wasn't alone. IRL my husband was so unsupportive. As far as he was concerned we had two boys and who needed anything else. He made me feel like something was wrong with me. Hopefully you have a DH who is more supportive than mine!!

As far as the angle I do think that you really need to take a close look and get a good picture of the spine (when it is straight) to really know what is going on. It isn't as easy as the 20 week scan. I think sometimes techs also get irritated that we are ask about gender and then just blurt out whatever they think. They are scanning all these important parts like the heart, the brain, the bones, (life and death things) and what do we ask about... the gender. I am sure the techs hate it (at least that is the feeling I get from some of them).

You could go for a private scan at 15 weeks. That might help if it is a boy. Then at your anatomy scan you won't be crying and you can be more happy that the baby is healthy. That is what I did with #3. I just knew it was a boy so I wanted to get it over with and find out so I could cry for days. I didn't sway with #3 (I still think DH did it so we wouldn't get a DD!!) so it is possible to get a DD without swaying!!

Acason27
April 2nd, 2014, 06:05 PM
Dream Pink I have been there! We had DS3 last April, 3 was always our plan. I had GD with him and at the time I was sad. There was a very obvious boy num at 12 weeks which was a blessing. It prepared me more to hear boy. I can tell you thought DS3 is the light of my life now. He is the sweetest baby and just loves to cuddle with his momma. His face lights up when I come into the room and he comes right to me. I cannot imagine my life without him and am so happy with 3 boys! Never thought that would be me. There is something adorable about a little group of guys together. Their bond is amazing. I still would feel a twinge mourning the daughter I never had, but I wouldn't change it. Well we are back to square one with this surprise baby #4. I will be slightly disappointed if I have another boy, but I had already accepted never having a girl so I don't think it will be as bad. There are a lot of ladies here in your shoes or have been there. If you need to talk we all understand exactly how you feel! Congrats on the baby!

Hi dream and welcome Hun :) many ladies feel/ felt as you do. Although this is only my second baby I very much doubt that we will have another (money/ space/ time etc) so I too am in the 'wanting a daughter last chance saloon' :/ it's a pretty depressing place! I hope you have your girl on board. Have you decided yet if you will find out or not? We deffo will; I feel like I am holding my breath till that time.
I'm due the week after you and I had my 16 week MW appointment yesterday. All is well and she offered to try to find baby's hb on the Doppler. She got it straight away and it was lovely to hear that sound again :) then she suddenly says 'ohh I think it's a girl' NO! DO NOT TELL ME THAT! GAHHHH!
I know she meant well but seriously for someone going through GD owts are not helpful; I want proof. Every time I start feeling that I'm getting a grip on GD and the thought that this is a boy, a little comment like that just sends me straight down the rabbit hole again :(
Hope all you ladies are ok xx

Hi girls
Thanks for your lovely messages. So good to know others have felt the same and I'm not a complete nutcase...
The feelings are getting easier as the days pass- party because I'm
Doing all I can to try to get excited about a new little boy entering our family- I've brought him lots of cute blue baby clothes ( figured why should he have twice handed clothes just because he is a boy..!) and party because I'm still holding a bit of hope and praying every night she got it wrong.
Hubby doesn't really understand ( he's from an all boy family so doesn't really see the problem)- I don't really think anyone understands though unless they have been through the same. My mum has been good- she had GD the other way way- had 4 girls but longed for a boy and he came as number 5! Funny how things work out.

Have those of you having girls had any different symptoms this time round?

CooCoo- good to hear you are staying green this time- will give you time to bond with baby no matter what colour. Will you not even try to nub guess though? x

I want to leave #4 a surprise but DH is like NO WAY. So we will find out with MaterniT21. I found out at about 12 weeks that we were having a girl when they called me with the MaterniT21 results.

2 boys and 2 girls really would be the perfect family... that is how I know this baby is probably going to be a boy. I would love a sister for my DD especially since all the kids in our neighborhood are DS1 and DS2 age. DH  wants a boy. I told him if the baby is a boy then he is cleaning toilets in the house from now on. I am done cleaning pee off of toilets!! He also says he wants to name this baby. He is driving me crazy :hair:

I saw so many kids in wheelchairs and ones that needed special assistance and it made me so sad. I just want this baby to be healthy and I have never worried about it so much in a pregnancy!

I know deep down I do care, but hopefully if I hear/see boy, I will be just fine!

Omg beachy- when is your scan???? Disney is great but exhausting!! We did that last year and I needed a vacation when I came back. I just got back from Mexico- it was fantastic. I couldn't swim but it was amazing anyway. Purely relaxing.

My scans on Friday. My stomach turns when I think about it! I think because I am excited but don't want to see the nub but do if it's what I want lol! But not because I do really want a suprise... And we plan to tell the boys after that and I'll probably let all my mom friends know at bookclub that night that don't know already!!! Makes me anxious thinking About all that!!!

So DS1 birthday party was today. I was feeling like crap and no one in my family knows that I am PG so I tried to be as normal as possible. I think I pulled it off. Here is his cake. Not sure anyone on here will know what this cake is but this is one of my DS1 favorite TV shows.

Btw Rosie, what all are you incorporating for your sway?
I mosey around your swaying posts and saw you're exercising a lot which is great!
If I swayed again I would have done the exercise, le diet, 1x attempt, hubby on olive leaf and if I could get my hands on clomid... Although the thought of multiples scares me a bit that I'm not sure I could go through with that!! Pretty sure I wouldn't be able to get my hands on it either!!
I may have waited til I was older too... But I know by then I still wouldn't have the guts!! I think it's amazing all of you are trying for number 4!! I would have been too chicken. I actually was seriously thinking adoption but money was always the problem:/

Money is our problem too, otherwise adoption or HT would have been my chosen route! I am okay with a 4th boy so I decided I am okay swaying. I did my ds3's sway wrong and too late in the game so I don't really count it as a sway. So this is my first "real sway." I am doing the cardio 5-7 days a week at 60 minutes, le diet, the low blood sugar aspect to the max--I have 16+ hrs of fasting. I am taking fiber and aspirin and hubby is doing LR and OLE. We will do 1 attempt at opk and in the shower after he takes a hot bath and we will also be drinking wine that night as well as every other night before that! I am really really hoping this works! Oh I also have some ion related things set up but they aren't the most important things of course!

The thing that did shock me was babys measuring 13.3wks instead of 12.5! But im happy my baby is healthy and i only saw what i wanted to see! X

I had a scan today also. Baby was measuring 8 weeks 5 days and I thought 8 weeks 6 days so seems to be measuring good. HB was good as well so that was good to hear. The tech said at this point the placenta is anterior which isn't so good since I have had multiple C-sections. All the OB said was we will wait and see how the placenta looks at the 20 week ultrasound. Made me a little nervous though. My uls tech was a major buzz kill. She has been doing it way too long!! She looked at the baby for maybe 5 seconds. Took two quick measurements and that was that. You would have thought we were there to buy groceries not look at a baby!!

Glad your baby looked good today poppys!!

Yes I find it very annoying. I have had some really patient techs and some not so patient ones and this woman was probably one of the worst. All we got for pictures were two blobs. Not that you can see much at this point but all my other early uls pictures have been much better. Am I asking too much to be a little personable and have some patience? Won't be going back to her for the 20 week uls.

You're not asking too much at all, it's shocking and unprofessional! I had a similar experience with the first ultrasound for DS5 and it's horrible. You should 'make mention of it' to the manager of wherever you had it done.

Hey ladies, I hope you are all ok :)
Sorry I have been AWOL for a little while. I had 1 of those days when the earth tilts just a little bit... We went for a private gender scan on Saturday and baby looked so cute and also definitely a boy! I held it together really well even though I felt crushed as all the owt had indicated girl and I'd really started hoping that we were having a girl...
I did break down a bit later and bless my dh he said we can try ht in a couple of years as he feels so guilty for not 'giving me my girl'. I told him never to apologise for giving me a healthy baby! I also made the v difficult decision to discuss everything with my mum (my GD, my girl sway, PGD etc) as my GD last time nearly broke me and dh, and she was amazing and said she wished I'd told her before as she would have helped me research and implement my sway! Bless her! She said she would support us through ivf PGD as well if we choose to do that.
I'm ok. Please no 'sorry you heard boy' comments; I not sorry for him, I'm excited my son gets a brother, I just hope there is a little girl out there for us as well.
I'm also fairly mental as I've already been researching PGD and I'm 17 weeks pregnant!! But I figure if it gives me a bit of hope that the tiny light at the end of the tunnel is a glimmer of a chance for my dd and not an oncoming train, and it helps me through the next x amount of time till I get the GD bitch back in its box, then it can't hurt, right?
I wish you all the best of luck that your pink dreams come true xx

I would not change having 2 boys 1st... Or for that matter 3! I'm not sorry you had a boy and I'm sure you won't be either!! It hurts not hearing what you want, I've been there...a couple times now;)
Definitely go HT if you can and really need a girl because it doesn't get easier to not hear what you want each time. Although for some reason now that I'm at 4 I feel a lot better about hearing a boy this time~go figure!!
Your 1st son will love having a little brother and if you're newby is anything like mine, his older brother is his world!!! He adores that guy more than me I'm pretty sure:)

Two boys is so much fun! Mine are the best of friends. They walk around holding each other's hand and are sad if they aren't together. They are always laughing and having such a blast together. They do fight at times but always make up with a big hug and kiss! They seriously adore each other and both of them adore our 3rd boy too. I don't at all feel sorry you heard boy because you will absolutely love the dynamic! It is hard not hearing girl, but by time you have that guy in your arms all of that will fade. This is 4 and if a boy I will be slightly disappointed but I know I won't for long! I agree with coocoo for some reason I feel like I will have a lot easier time accepting another boy this time than DS3. I had already come to terms with never having a girl and then this total surprise. DS2 and DS3 were my GD babies and both are total Momma's boys! I love it. Congrats on the new little blue bundle! If you ever feel down we can all relate, so we are here to listen.

Everything coocoo said is so true!

I was so very crushed when I heard DS2 was a boy. I thought I was going to have 2 kids - 1 boy, 1 girl and life would be perfect. That all shattered and I felt robbed. But now, I realize that it is so opposite. My world is everything it is b/c it all started with those 2 boys, and now 3, and now most likely 4. I have never felt more at peace about hearing boy b/c I know the joy they bring. My cousin just had her first baby...a boy. And I just melted when I saw him b/c I know what she has in store and I know that a baby boy is just fantastic!!

Congrats Kittybear! You are so blessed!!!

Not in the club but saw the comments - congratulations on your second son. I was also slightly disappointed when I found out that my second was a boy, as I was also hoping for a girl, but loved it when my good friend (herself the momma of four boys, and no stranger to gender disappointment!) said to me, "It's so wonderful. Just think - they'll be each other's best men at their weddings." Thinking of these two boys getting to grow into men together was really what put me over the top into joy over having another son - and now he walks around the house going, "Brother! Where are you?" if he can't find him. It is wonderful. Zillions of congratulations to you on your healthy baby boy <3.

I don't even hope I have a chance at hearing girl. Not really thinking of it, still at the 'will baby stick' stage, will it be healthy etc. I had mild disappointment when I heard ds2 was not the girl I thought he was going to be. Dh had bought pink booties as a surprise, really rather sweet of him and a total surprise. I think he was more disappointed initially as he kind of handed them to me in a "don't need these" strop! But after 11 long months swaying ig style, 7 bloody sway factors and having 2 losses, when I found out our third was a boy I actually was devastated ....cried, snot and all for a few days, then I shopped. Beautiful bedding, nursery all done, just like I would have gone overboard if it had been a girl. Poor ds2 got ds1 hand me downs bedding wise! Ds3 was such a mummy's boy, before he became a rampaging toddler. Ds2 was initially a daddy's/grandads boy ... But he's 7 and is a wee mummy's boy through and through! Still nuggles up and holds my hand and says the sweetest things. Ds1 still gives me kisses and cuddles all the time, just not in public. It'll be disappointing, especially having swayed, but your boys will always be your babies, no matter what. Take time to adjust to the news and get shopping! Congrats on a healthy baby boy xxx

Yes, even if you ladies all had another boy it is a different boy, a whole new person with a new set of traits and loves.
