Hello everyone. I made a post here months ago before I was pregnant, but now here I am 11 weeks along. I heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time today, and like an idiot, I shared that the baby has a strong heartbeat of 169. The comments haven't stopped coming. "Oh that's a girl heartbeat for sure." "I know it's another girl!" It's my fault. I shouldn't have posted it. Now I'm sitting hear close to tears. I need this baby to be a boy.

There is no truth to this at all , so you are back to having an equal chance of a boy or a girl. Enjoy!

Thank you, Dr. Braverman. I knew in my heart that you can't tell gender by the heartrate.

If that were true, all three of mine would be girls! (I have two boys and a girl)
There was some website a while back (I ran across it just while googling "heart rate and gender) that had a chart about where the heart rates fell and you couldn't even pick out any gender differences at all. Boys that were high, girls who were low, most within a similar area because heart rate changes with gestation. Most are about 140-170s at 10-13 weeks. Then they steadily drop and many babies are closer to 130-140 at birth.
It could easily be a boy (my oldest son had the highest heartbeat of my three).

This boy started out at 178 at my 10 1\2 week appt. Then at 14 weeks, just like my other two boys it dropped to 155. My boys have always been in the 150-160 range.

My ds3s heart beat never dropped below 160 (at least not at any check ups) it wasn't until a long time afterwards I realised that in my noting that fact I was harbouring a little gender desire, even back then.
