Odd that's the same with me I'm not throwing up but just nauseous. I sometimes wish I could throw up so I would feel better. I try to eat to make myself feel better but then I'm gaining weight fast. I'm hoping after this first trimester I can get on a better eating habit and back into the gym. I had lost about 20 lbs right before I got pg and was actually feeling great about myself so it's kind of hard to start gaining it back so quickly. Although I'm 10 weeks and have gained 5lbs so far. I'm hoping to only gain around 25 lbs this pregnancy. With my first I gained 40, my second around 30 lbs so hopefully with this one I can keep it under control! My coworkers who don't know I'm pg probably think I'm crazy cause I'm eating so much compared to a couple months ago when I was on a great diet!

You and I are exactly alike lol...I also lost 20+ pounds and out on 5 back real quick. I'm also 10 weeks along lol..I'm really hoping that I can get gack to eating healthy as well.
Here's hoping to healthy and happy pregnancy once this trimester is over.

I'm miserable. Most days I feel nauseous all day but the afternoon and evening are worse. I dint know why. I'm in bed no later than 8 pm too. So awful. I try to wag to feel better and sometimes it makes me feel worse but if I don't eat I'm nauseous and hungry. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. After my losses I'm telling NO ONE. Only DH and you ladies know.

It just so happens that we have this year. We have another holiday coming up in September to Greece for 10 days (escaping my birthday) and then DS turns 2 so it will become way more expensive. Probably won't be a real holiday until I'm well into maternity leave, apart from visiting family. I am very good at doing all the research to find good deals :)

Hi ladies! Excited to join this thread - due March 10 and swayed pink. I'm almost 10 weeks. Have had a strong feeling the past couple days that this one will be a boy too.. waiting for a call from my doctor to schedule the 12-14 week ultrasound. Hoping to be able to tell more from that one! Here's a pic from the 7 week ultrasound - any thoughts? Hope everyone is feeling ok - this pregnancy is definitely more difficult than with my son. Night nausea is the worst!

Eeee... I'm fairly sure I finally found a heartbeat, not for very long, but it was 156-158 for about a minute, which is definitely not my heart or an artery. My heart is usually 80-90, artery 120-130, but it didn't sound like the youtube videos, actually it sounded more like the twin videos where it's almost like a squeaky horse. Wish I'd had my camera on hand to get a video, I'm not sure if it was it or not, but I've never gotten a sustained reading of above 150 before, this pregnancy or with my losses trying, so I dunno what else it could be.

Team green is going to make me crazy so I've been looking at the ramzi method and comparing my ultrasounds...I know that there is a decent chance my first two ultrasounds were flipped (I didn't know to ask with the boys) BUT if they happen to NOT be flipped then this may be my lucky baby... ???
Top left is ds1, top right is ds2, bottom left is this baby, bottom right shows examples of gender using ramzis. All are vaginal us at 6-7wks.
I go for another ultrasound on Monday and am going to see if they will tell me what side the placenta is attached this pregnancy...

Cute babies bethwade. No idea what I'm looking at though:-)
Hope all u ladies had a great weekend. Mine was super!! We had a housewarming party at a friend's where I saw all my girlfriends and was soo tempted to share my pregnancy news but I was real good about being tightlipped. Determined to wait til 2nd trimester.
And this fine sunday evening, my hubby decided to give me a break by taking kiddo away so u can enjoy a couple hours to myself. I spent it watching reality crap and crying for no reason. .ugh

Went today and baby is attached to the FRONT. So yeah, I'm feeling like we have ds3 on the way now. 😳 his profile/scull looks very similar to both boys so I'm feeling pretty deflated today :(
So glad you had some quality time Sunday, even if it was kinda sappy 💜

Hey all
Its so quiet here!! Beth congrats on your scan, really try not to get down ( like I can talk) I too have been obsessing over every little symptom and so sure its another boy just a way to protect ourselves I guess!!
Odd glad you had some r and r !!
Just got back from a girls trip to Sydney so much fun.
Only 5 weeks and just started getting mild nausea and a sour taste in my month, REALLY sore boobs and tired. When did morning sickness hit for you all?
Hope everyone is okay xxxx

Beth I really don't think gender and location of implantation are linked. It just doesn't make sense. Not to me anyway. As Kitkat says we are likely protecting ourselves subconsciously. I feel like I'm having a boy but it's probably just a subconscious protection thing. I even have a couple of names for him.
Odd and Kitkat glad you enjoyed some time out!
I started feeling rough in week 5 but then week 6 was the worst. Since then I have felt sick and dizzy lots but maybe I'm more used to it. It's slightly different to last time.
On my way to my scan now yippee!!

It's great to see so many ladies in here. Congratulations again to those I have already congratulated and congratulations to those who I haven't. I hope pregnancy is treating you all well. I know it's easy for me to say since I'm not in your position but, be kind to yourselves when it comes to gender. Just remember what it took to get you here. Wishing you all the very best for fantastic outcomes :D

Thanks boysway !! How are you doing? Stephk yah!! For happy and healthy heartbeat ....
Sorry you are so dizzy and nauseous this time round my second pregnancy was soooo different to my first I was really dizzy and all day sickness from week 4 so far this is more like my first but waiting to see if that changes at six weeks!!
How are you coping with work?
Silly question but is dating scan based on day you DTD or ovulation? Xxx

I think its based on ovulation, the measurement is consistent with when I believe I ovulated.
Sometimes at work I am finding it very difficult to function!! Thank goodness I have to leave at 5pm every day to pick up DS from nursery!! Not feeling too bad at this moment though to be fair. There is a latent sick feeling but the room isnt moving which is a bonus lol.
Cant say I am particularly motivated to be doing any work......
kitkat I am sure the symptoms will kick you up the ar5e very soon!!

Kitkat, I was feeling great up until the day I was 6 weeks! Then it hit me hard!
I am counting down the days until my nt scan on Sept 4th. I will be almost 14 weeks and I hope there will be gender clues but who knows. If not my gender scan is on September 19th!!! Can't wait!

Aoii, sounds like we are in the same boat! I am just now 11 weeks and keep thinking I've made it out of the worst - and then I'll have a really awful evening and be reminded I'm not out of the woods yet! I also felt great up until the day I was 6 weeks :-) Our NT scan is a week from today, but we'll only be 12 weeks. The gender scan will be Sept 16th, I think :-)
Boysway, I'm so sorry to hear that you're still having difficulties! I hope you can stay positive, but I know it's tough :-(
The past few days have been horrid for me. Sunday, I came down with a mild fever. I thought it was mild at least, until I googled it and it says that your should go to the ER for a fever over 100.4 when pregnant as an elevated temp over that for a period of time can cause miscarriage or increased risk for birth defects such as cleft palate, heart defects, and neural tube defects, such as spina bifida. Great. I called the OB after hours line and she said to treat with Tylenol every 6 hours to keep it down, but that if I couldn't to go into the ER. Ugh... Tylenol seemed to do absolutely nothing for me. At about midnight, my fever hit 101.7, the chills started, and I felt like I had been hit by a bus. I got in a luke warm tub to try and get it lower. I sat there for almost 3 hours as it slowly lowered. I was pretty much freaking out because it wasn't lowering very quickly, yet DH didn't seem worried at all and was more perturbed that I had woken him and asked him to run a bath for me. Nice, right? Then when I mentioned to him while I was sitting in the tub that we might need to go into the ER and that we'd have to call and wake up his parents to get one of them to come over here so we didn't have to wake up our daughter, he said that I should just go by myself. Seriously? Here I was pregnant, shaking with chills from this fever, feeling like absolute garbage, scared we were killing or harming our child, and yet he would rather me drive myself to the damn hospital in the middle of the night rather than wake up his parents, who I know would have come over in an instant! I love my hubby of course, and for the past day while I was sick, he had done everything I asked of him, from making me soup, to taking care of Lyra, to running me the bath, but he's not very compassionate and never once sat down on the bed with me and gave me a hug or comforted me. He's very squeamish and hates germs, so he pretty much just stays away when I'm sick. I found that all I wanted was my mother, lol. Anyway, after almost 3 hours in the tub, my fever finally broke. I ended up dry heaving a ton on the way back to bed, putting me in tears, but after that I was finally able to sleep a few hours, but very restlessly and then went into my regular doctor first thing in the morning. They of course couldn't really pinpoint what it was, but put me on amoxicillin just in case. So far, the fever has not come back and after an entire day in bed yesterday, today, I am finally back to feeling more decently like myself. I have of course checked for the baby's heartbeat frequently since then and have been somewhat reassured that I've been able to find it, although that doesn't mean that it didn't cause some sort of defect, which is so incredibly scary to me. But of course, there's nothing I can do about it now. I just hope that those 2 or 3 hours with the elevated temp didn't do any permanent damage! At the time though, I just didn't know that driving and waiting in the hospital waiting room for almost as long was a better route than the cool bath, and I'm crossing my fingers we made the right decision. Oh, and although the OB nurse said not to use ibprofin, my regular doctor said that you can in the first and second trimester if the tylenol doesn't work to lower a fever. Luckily the fever did not come back so I didn't have to go that route, but still, it was interesting to hear. I just get so frustrated sometimes with night nurses. We took our daughter the ER one night on a night nurse's recommendation because we couldn't get her fever down with alternating advil and tylenol, and all the hospital did was give them both to her at the same time, which did the trick. Of course we ended up paying over $1200 for those bills, when I could have done the exact same thing myself for her at home! I just wish they would tell you that stuff rather than making you go through the ordeal of the ER and all those damn bills! Of course, at the same time, when a nurse tells you to go to the ER, generally speaking, you listen. And my OB nurse pretty much didn't give me any other things to try other than going to the ER if Tylenol every 6 hours didn't do the trick. Really? She didn't even mention the bath, but my mom did when I called her. And the fact that advil could be used if needed would have been nice to know too. I just kept thinking, what is the hospital going to be able to do that I can't? They might put cool compresses on me, but a cool bath at home is essentially the same. They might give me advil in a worst case scenario, but I had that at home as well. Ugh, sorry for the rant, but it just frustrate me that they are so quick to shuffle people off to the ER. The ER is scary and expensive, not to mention full of germs and disease! Oh well, it is what it is now. I do think we made the right choice in that I don't think they could have lowered it any faster than I had, given that I would have had to drive there, wait around to get checked in, etc. From experience, I know it's not as quick as you might think :-( Again, sorry for my rant!! I guess I'm just looking for some compassion and sympathy since I don't get any from DH :-( Thanks for listening ladies!

Crazycat- I think everything with baby will be just fine. But man what a scare that must have been! Sometimes i complain about how slow our wait times are here with health care.. but at least we don't have to pay! My god 1200 for advil... crazy!! I hope you are feeling better soon though. The bath thing sounds like a great idea to lower fever for sure. I prob would have done same thing.
As for me. I announced the pregnancy via social media and got the reaction i pretty much expected. People are happy but almost everyone made a "are you hoping for a girl!?" Comment. Kinda irritating. I recently saw a t-shirt that says :"we're hoping its a dinosaur". Lol im thinking of getting it to get people to back off. Lol

Thank you ladies for your support and kind words :-) I am feeling back to my normal pregnant self, although the nausea seems to be a little worse. I think it may have just been because I wasn't eating as well the past few days, so trying to get back on track now. The amox seemed to do the trick though and no more fever!
Sunflower, congrats on such a cute baby :-)
Robin, I love the dinosaur t-shirt idea! I love wearing clothes that tell people I'm pregnant because I feel like people are so much nicer to pregnant women, lol. Getting excited for our first scan less than a week away! I think we'll likely announce publicly at that time since we'll have a pic to share. We'll just just over 12 weeks, so I think that should be okay. I might possibly wait another week just to be sure, but I have a feeling once I have a pic, I'll want to share with the world! Everyone I have told so far asks if we're hoping for a boy. I always reply with "sure, in a perfect world, a little bot would be nice, but we'll be happy with whatever we get, as a little girl would be a blessing as well!"
How is everyone feeling? Anyone feel like they're past the first trimester yuckies or are we all still trudging through? I'm really hoping there's not too much left of it!

Has anyone heard of or will be trying the intelligender boy/girl at home gender test? I guess it can be done at 10 weeks. It doesn't have great reviews but they say it's 87-89%accurate.. It sounds fun to try, just don't know if I want to do it just because of the reviews.

I know I will be so happy and surprised if it is my baby girl. But I also know I will need to come to the realization of being a boy mom and take in that I will never get to experience raising a daughter! I LOVE my boys and I would not be sad to have another boy. What I will be sad about is not ever being able to have a daughter. - Favourite elements of my sway-
- Tandem Breastfeeding Ds1 & Ds2
- was very very sick during my sway & ovulation, high temps, fever chills, was very surprised to get a Bfp as we were not trying at all! Only did the deed once on our 14 year anniversary ( have been a couple since I was 14 yrs old)
- conceived straight away after an early miscarriage
- diet, stopped breakfast for many months, limited snacks, meats & general le diet.
- no exercise, very different to when we conceived our boys :)
- aci jel :)
Trying to focus on the positives :) , would love to hear your positive sway points x

No breakfast, no snacking, fasting for at least 16 hours till I ate , keeping everything below limits (well most of the time)
Being on diet for 8 months
Zyrtec day of DTD
Staying off GD for 2 weeks before my attempt
Giving up MFP so not obsessing over limits
Losing weight in 2ww before BFP and losing overall 5.5kg, lowest conception weight.
No big O!!
Lots to drink night of conception...
Heaps of things im nervous about too!!! But as I keep telling myself I came a long way from doing 'shettles' when I first joined up in Jan!!
Been putting it off but going to post my sway now, it wasn't great but I did the best I could and im proud of myself!

Haha it takes a while to adjust to eating "normally". I still have some of the same meals because I like them and I do eatore vegetarian things than before starting LE but I'm eating a bit more meat and fish and normal stuff. I had breakfast cereal last night for the first time in at least a year!!
Good points about sway:
-was 12kg less than when I got PG last time (but I had lost the weight months before so was at a stable weight)
- LE diet was pretty different to my usual - especially the 16 hour fast and no snacking
- I did not slack when it came to exercise. At my DHs request I had cut down to 5 days a week a few weeks before I conceived
- one attempt and very crap BD so no big O for me!!!
- masses of booze the weekend we conceived

The funny thing is at the moment I feel very strongly that I'm having a boy and really don't mind. Until DH or one of my friends suggests it and then in my head I'm annoyed lol!! I'm in trouble lol. I really won't mind either way once the baby is in my arms. There was always still a massive chance of having a boy.
Forgot to mention another good point of the sway - my DH cycles to work in good weather so had been cycling 5 days a week for 90 mins a day for a few months. He had these cycling shorts that kept things pretty warm, I was worried there would be no sperm at all lol!!!

Welcome new comers!! Congrats on your BFPs! The group is growing nicely now.
I'm 10 weeks today! Yay! I can't wait til our scan in 2.5 weeks. I wanna see how big baby has gotten. I gotta blame something for these 11lbs ;)
At the moment, I feel pretty strongly baby is a boy. And I'm good with it. I change my mind a lot though. Our sway was not strong at all, mostly concentrating on factors out of my control. But we had one attempt, at my lowest conception weight, skipping breakfast, and eating much less than normal. I wasn't sleeping (lost a close friend) and nursing my daughter still. I also take aspirin regularly, so for what that is worth. And first cycle after a chemical. Decent enough. We were mostly trying to "even the field." I felt if I did nothing, it would 100% be a boy. So I wanted more of a team green experience.

Just had my 12.3 week ultrasound and saw between the legs and didnt see boy parts but the tech said that means nothing. Argh she wasn't helpful at all and took what i think to be not the greatest pics. Baby had hands up by face.. so cute!. But got to see baby and she/he was doing flips in there! Heart beat w as 159.. and all looks good. I hope people guess on nub theory bc its driving me nuts!

As far as our sway, I think it was so-so. We started the HE diet back in October thinking we were going to have our first attempt in Dec. But then we bought a house in Dec instead, lol. And then we got really sick in Jan, so waited until Feb for our first attempt. Tried then and in March, then decided to wait a couple months, as we had some pretty major stuff happening in our lives. Needless to say, by that time I had gained about 15 lbs and was starting to feel crappy about myself, so I stopped the HE diet for the most part when we got our BFP from the June cycle. But, I was still up in weight, and was focused on eating mostly protein, was working out pretty heavily except the week of our actual attempt because we were on vacation at the beach. We had 4 good attempts with lots of O's right after we got our positive OPK, and had been really good about taking all our supps and such. Overall, even though I wasn't doing the HE diet hardcore, I was still feeling quite masculine, lol. I even remember finding I had started growing a faint mustache! So something in all that was definitely giving me more testosterone! And my trainer has always told me I'm built more like a man than a woman (exactly what you want to hear, right?) meaning that I have a lot of testosterone and can gain/lose weighty easily, so I'm hoping that works in our favor this time. I've always assumed I would be the mother of boys, and when we had our daughter, I was actually shocked that our sway had worked and that I would be a girl mom! Ultimately if that's what I end up - only a girl mom, I'll be okay with it, but it just feels "off" to me, as I always imagined I'd have a brood of boys. I grew up with 3 full brothers and 3 half brothers so that's all I've ever known! However I will say that once having Lyra, I now get what all the fuss is about daughters :-)

Welcome new BFP's!!! I have been so sick for the past week with some horrible flu thing, I think I am dying lol. Morning sickness has hit too which is so yucky. But I can't stop eating which is a new one for me. Normally I lose weight in early pregnancy due to food aversions. Craving meat/carb combo's and living on gonger ale and morning sickness tablets. Love to hear others thoughts....
I am all ready driving myself up the wall analyzing every symptom when I know deep down they mean nothing!!
I LOVED having a surprise with DS1 but I did not really have a preference. I found out at 20 weeks with DS2 and had awful GD I was sure I would get a pigeon pair. I believe I have made peace with having a third boy but this is it!! No more chances after this!!

We are staying team green, or team "gray" is what I'm calling it and will decorate the nursery in gray/white and then add in gender colors once the baby arrives.
It's going to drive me crazy but I think we are going to do it! Although I finally wrote up my sway and now I'm even more nervous about it being a boy. My sons are saying they think it's a boy...ugh! I think I'm destined to be surrounded by penises the rest of my life lol

Kitkat I'm in the symptom analyzing stage too :-/ I was reading over my pregnancy diaries from both my boys and realized I've been craving waffles with every pregnancy, and I even made a comment early on with ds2 that if cravings mean anything that #2 is a boy...annnnnd he was. So I'm really nervous and really trying to just mentally pretend we have been told it's a boy already.

Welcome and congrats orchidea!
We are definitely finding out, and asap too! We found a place that will do the gender ultrasound at 14 weeks, so only a couple more to go!! For me, I am a planner, not to mention I feel like I need to know the sex and start thinking of names to really connect with the baby. Plus, if it is a girl, I'll need the time to get my head wrapped around the idea. I don't think I'll be devastated, just disappointed that I won't ever have my boy :-( For whatever reason though, I can't help but still stay so positive - I really think it's our little guy :-) If not, I'll deal, but I'm trying to stay positive!

Can I join? I got my bfp June 27th unexpectedly at 12dpo, had just started a boy sway but not sure if it was good enough! I'm 11w2d today and have barely any symptoms, no ms (I did have it for 2 weeks from week 5-7 but only at night and no vomiting or gagging), I was super irritable from weeks 5-9 but have evened out since, my bbs only get sore at night if at all, my hair is greasy as all get out, and that's about it! No strong cravings yet (but if I think of if, I have to have it! And is usually savor instead of sweet), no aversions, don't have super strong sense of smell, no bleeding gums.. All very different than my pregnancy with dd! Hopefully that's a good sign? Ramzi has me convinced its a girl even though I only had an abominal us @ 8w2d and it was a dr not a tech performing (had a trip to er due to flaring UC, common in pregnancy but I had been in remission for a few years) and he couldn't even tell me which way was left from right up from down lol at that time hb was 172. I hope we all get what were dreaming of!(:

Okay, so we just had our first scan for the NT testing :-) I'm about to write a whole lot, so sorry in advance for the long post, lol (also cross-posted). First things first, baby was healthy and everything seemed to be good, measurement-wise for the NT part of it, so that's of course the best and most important news :-)
When we sat down with the tech, I told her that I understand this is for the NT testing and that that's the most important thing, but that if she could get a nub shot, I;d really appreciate it. Her response was "I won't". Really? I asked her why not and she said because she doesn't like to guess unless she's 100% positive and that it's too early to be sure. I told her that I can understand that, but that I DO like to guess. I mean, I wasn't asking her for her damn opinion. I just wanted a pic of it so that I could have fun guessing! So yeah, the whole apt started off pretty rough. She tried to make it up to me after that by asking questions and being sweet as pie, but I was still a bit irritated at her, and irritated that I was irritated at the first viewing of my little one!
Anyhoo, as she was getting her measurements, my spirits lifted dramatically because I kept seeing the nub and it was definitely looking very clearly boy to me, but I didn't say anything and was just hoping she'd take a shot of it on accident. But either way I felt happy because it definitely looked boy. Then, as she was going through, she even commented on it and took a pic, saying, well, if that doesn't end up being boy, I'll be shocked because it's definitely looks that way. She then softened up a bit and started getting angles of the nub so we could look and I was agreeing with her. She even did a potty shot where we saw a turtle, but both of us agreed that shot wasn't as make or break, as girl parts can still look similar from that angle. BUt still, in the end she was practically telling me that we definitely have a boy! Hubby and I are just so excited right now!!
We obviously won't celebrate just yet, but it has give me so much hope :-) During the ultrasound, the baby was actually measuring 12w6d today, even though I thought I was only 12w1d, so they decided to move my due date up. They said they normally don't when it's within a week, but because I knew my cycle so well and knew it was longer this time and that I ovulated a little later than normal, plus the fact that our daughter came naturally almost 3 weeks early, they decided to move it up. So now I am officially not in this group with a 2/25/15 due date (but I plan to keep hanging anyway!!)! We found a place that will do gender determination as early as 14 weeks. We're going to make an apt for 2 weeks from this Friday. We'll actually be 15w2d with this new calculation, but I really want it to be accurate, and the main deadline is the following Monday, as I'm going to Vegas for a work thing where I will likely get a lot of free baby stuff, so I wanted to be able to tell them if it's a boy or girl :-) I dunno.. I'm looking at the calendar now and am tempted to make the apt earlier. Even a week from this Friday we would be 14w2d... I will have to think about that as it's very tempting!!
So yeah... I'm feeling pretty good right now, lol. I will post a couple pics below with decent nub shots. Would love for you ladies to give me your thoughts! Will be posting on the other board as well. Seriously on cloud 9 right now!!

Crazycat that's so a boy nub if I've ever seen one! How exciting!!
I have to make a trip to fl this weekend from la and I'm hoping to get in for a scan sometime next week.. Definitely asking for a nub shot and hopefully they're on board.. The dr at the er told me the most fun I could have would be to wait until the baby's born when I mentioned ramzi (likely bc he didn't know what he was looking at bc he couldn't answer basic questions, but hey I was there for UC, not the baby & he was nice enough to do the scan when I requested it!) but it's like.. Did I ask your opinion on what YOU think I should do in regards to my baby? If I want to test every last gender theory out there so be it! Lol, speaking of I did the baking soda pee test and it was immediately foamy, and MILS baking soda has apparently been in the back of the fridge for some years bc it expired 2 years ago! I know that prob means nothing but I can wish right :P

Haha, Stephk, I love it!
Mamaluv, I agree, small meals with carbs and protein together seemed to help me. Peanut butter on toast with honey was my life saver in the beginning! Also, ask your doctor about Diclegis. It's the only prescription specifically for MS, and it really has seemed to be working well for me. Seabands are another one a lot of women have had luck with, and ginger of course. Good luck! It will get better with time.

Also I have a question for the team green ladies, have any of y'all ever dealt with ppd? I thought I would have it with my dd bc I spent those last 19 weeks so sad she was not my boy, but of course the second she was in my arms I loved her more than I ever could have imagined! No ppd. So I knew id want another and it would be my last (yep, this is my last chance for our boy, DH has 3 girls altogether with our 1!) so I really thought id want to go green and started researching how it went for other women.. For a lot it seemed it didn't go so well. I had those 19 weeks to know it was a girl and accept that, but these other women tried to convince themselves it was not their dg but of course still had that hope and when the baby was born quite a few said it felt like a death in the family. That hope for the certain gender to them was so strong(no matter how much they tried to quell it) that when their babies came out opposites it was like this entire fantasy life of what it would be like with their dg had died and they suffered severe ppd bc of it. This terrified me and now I'm definitely finding out, I've never dealt with ppd and it's something the scares the crap out of me. So if y'all have dealt with it before do you agree or disagree that somethig like that would make it worse? Or do you think if you're going to have ppd from gender disappointment it doesn't really matter how it happens bc it's going to be there anyway? Are there different levels of ppd (mild, severe, etc)?

How is everyone feeling? I had terrible nausea and sickness with my LO which started at around 5 weeks and lasted until birth! I was put on Ciclyzine 50mg tablets from week 9. I got a BFP on Monday at only 3 weeks and 3 days and the nausea started the same afternoon. I am already back on the tablets as I need to look after my LO who will be 7 months next week and my older 3 boys!

Luckyduck23 I was sick only the first trimester with the first one (which they say is typical for the first time around), with the second one it was really mild and off and on during the nine months, with the third I was only sick a week. This time around I've had gagging sensations since three weeks and HORRIBLE morning sickness since 6 weeks and it won't let up! It usually lasts all day! :-( I can't find any magic foods because nothing makes it go away. It's so awful! :(

Also I have a question for the team green ladies, have any of y'all ever dealt with ppd? I thought I would have it with my dd bc I spent those last 19 weeks so sad she was not my boy, but of course the second she was in my arms I loved her more than I ever could have imagined!
I had extreme GD when I was pregnant with boy #4. I convinced myself that I would have a girl after ttc for 3 years and dealing with infertility with my 2nd husband. But at an early gender scan, at 15 weeks I was told boy. I was so disappointed that the tech made a comment about it and didn't make it outside the clinic before bursting out crying. I hated the remain time of pregnancy and I wished I wasn't. Off course my LO is utterly adorable and fell in love with him the second he was born.
This pregnancy is a total shock. I did sway and never thought it would happen so quickly. I know it's another boy but I will remain team green until birth because I don't want to deal with stupid people comments and I want to enjoy my last pregnancy without worrying about gender.

August 20th, 2014, 11:10 AM
Orchid, that's exactly how it went with dd for me. I didn't say a word after the tech said girl and as soon, and I mean literally the second I walked out of that room I fell to the floor and lost it right there. Poor DH, lord only knows how that made him feel but he was amazing through it all.. I spent the rest of my pregnancy feeling guilty, depressed, and wishing I never wanted to get pregnant in the first place.. And this was my first baby. I still feel guilty about it, and was so glad to see her face and immediately feel that love. It just really got to me reading about all these women who felt like they didn't have that immediate love because the disappointment had never had a chance to hit beforehand and to have it all flood out immediately after the birth? I think that would take the cake in the guilt department for me and I'm not sure I could handle carrying that around with me. Of course I couldn't imagine not being in love with my healthy baby the second I met him or her, but what if? I'm sure those other women thought the same? I think maybe I just have a sort of phobia of ppd..I mean if we all lived our lives on "what ifs" we'd never have any fun would we?(:

Wow, orchidea, morning sickness at 3 weeks! I feel for you!! Do the tablets seem to be working? I will keep my fingers crossed for you this time it lets up sooner!!
Luckyduck, I totally get where you're coming from, and I think it's smart to think about how to best combat ppd. It's a very serious thing and more common that people realize. Of course, it's never by choice, but again, just the fact that you're aware of it and how your GD could possibly tie to, I think is a step in beating/preventing it. For me, I too chose to find out, just in case. It's not that I think I wouldn't fall in love, but at the same time, I've heard plenty of stories of women who didn't connect immediately, even with no GD, so why push the boundaries. For me, I am a planner, and when I have a plan in place, I'm good. When something doesn't go as planned, I simply have to make a new plan. For me though, I think I'd need time to get used to the new plan, and I'm not sure all the hormones of birth and stress of breastfeeding, etc, would help in that manner. Again, that's just me. I know some of the women are doing team green because that's what they know is best for them. Everyone is different, so just go with your gut!

I know it sucks! I just can't believe it that I am already suffering with it! The tablets do help, without I couldn't function and with 4 other kids it's just not an option to do without.
LuckyDuck what you were feeling, I felt it too. I look at my son now and feel so guilty towards him. I know in my heart that this baby is another boy. If it's a girl at birth it will be a wonderful surprise and if it's another boy and as cute as my LO then I'll still be happy just sad to let go of my dream and never have a girl. It won't be about the baby though but just the sadness that I was never meant to have a daughter. I hope this makes sense. I rather spend the next 36 weeks not knowing that knowing for sure that my dream will remain just that. Big hugs to you, sending you all my boys dust.

Orchid, it's those exact thoughts that made me ponder going team green in the first place!
And Beth that article is great! Funny too(: and it really makes me wanna go team green even more.. Hmm..
Crazycat, that's the part that scares me most, wondering about ppd. But then part of me wants th experience of team green bc I know this is our last baby! I just don't know!
I think what I might do is wait until around January to find out, when I'm back in Louisiana with hubs. This trip I'm about to take this weekend is actually going to be an extended 4 month stay with family so DH can get settled into his new position at work and I can take care of some finances and responsibilities that I just kind of left up in the air when I moved to la from fl.. Wasn't expecting to be pregnant and need to prioritize so quickly! So I think I'll get my 12-13 week scan a scheduled and *hopefully* get a nice nub & skull shot, but then wait to find out the gender until I get back and DH and I can find out together about a month or two before my due date.. Which I'm sure will drive my family nuts(; but if I get a good enough nub shot maybe DH will agree to stay green all the way! I'm so back and forth on it, I feel like I NEED to know but at the same time I DONT WANT to know, if that makes sense lol

Hey ladies thanks Beth that link made my day!!! I have been uming and aahing but really think I must go team green, its my last and I really want to enjoy this pregnancy! I feel I really turned a corner in the last few days I have given myself a kick up the arse and I am no longer obsessing about gender!! I am just going to focus on cute maternity clothes, thinking about decorating nursery shopping ( my boys are 6 and 4) so all my baby stuff is a bit knackered!! Well for now I am looking not buying until after 12 weeks!! It is what he or she is and me thinking about it ain't gonna change it!!!!
I think fb group is a good idea I love the ladies in this group and would love to see when we all have our babies and as they grow up but I would also like to keep this thread going as it really gave me inspiration on the le diet to see pregnancy chit chat and sharing DG news xxxxx

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies! I'm so excited to join such a great group. Sorry I've been quiet the past few days - DS is off school so I've taken a week off of work to be home with him full time and I feel like I have no time to myself. I normally get on here after he goes to bed, but I've been so exhausted I've been falling asleep on the couch around 8:30 PM since my BFP. So far that's my only symptom - total exhaustion! I had HORRIBLE ms with DS from 6 weeks to 15 weeks so I'm just waiting for that to kick in. EEK.
Congrats to the ladies with awesome nub shots (crazycat and robin and anyone else?)? Looks like lots of ladies will be getting their DG!! So exciting!!!
We will be finding out ASAP (perhaps even paying OOP for the blood test). I did have PPD and I know that GD will make it worse. I love being a Mom now and DS and I are best friends, but I didn't bond very well with him the first 6 weeks and I WANTED a boy and was thrilled when I found out he was a boy at 16 weeks. I know this little one is probably another boy and I will be over the moon in love with him at some point, I will just need time to get used to it. So far I'm only making lists of boy names and possibly going to buy a couple of cute boy outfits and things like that and not even allow myself to consider pink things and hoping that helps. I can't handle the comments from friends and family so when I announce my pregnancy around 10 weeks I will tell them we have had the blood test (even if we don't actually get it, lol) and it's DS2 so I don't get comments. It's probably DS2 anyways! :) I feel like if I tell them it's a boy right away they can't say "do you hope it's a girl" or "were you trying for a girl". UGH. I hate comments like that!

A secret group means that no one can see anything unless one is a member. It will show up in your Newsfeed but you can only view that not your friends or family. I posted the difference for each group in another post, 3 down I believe. :)

Just to clarify. The Facebook group I have created it's a SECRET group. This means that only members can see comments and posts but it will show up in your newsfeed. You are the only one who can see the Newsfeed. Below is a table with the 3 different type of group setting so you can see the difference.
Because I have set the group to Secret, the only way you can join is by being added by an existing member in the group. Alternatively, send me a private message and I'll add you as a friend and into the group. Then I'll remove you no problem.

^^Ive tried that. It didn't work. Lol. I had two "team green" friends who had 3D sonograms later in pregnancy (30 weeks or there abouts) and we all (we have a private FB room too) tried to guess based on "what the face looked like." It was way harder than you would think. A baby kinda looks gender less, truth be told. My second son and my daughters 3D pics looks almost the same. And they really don't look that alike otherwise, nor did they as babies. So I don't think I would consider that a good way to tell gender.
But it's fun guessing anyway ;)

I'm cautiously, possibly, maybe creeping back into this thread...
I got a bfp today!
BUT I haven't actually had af since my m/c a few weeks ago. So I'm not 100% certain it's not my hormones playing tricks on me, because it would be crazy lucky to have caught that first egg. I bought 3 more cb digitals today, so I'll be testing like a crazy lady for the next few days! I know that my hcg levels were down to 2 at my last blood test, and I was getting "not pregnant" on my digitals tests then. I tested just to make sure levels were low enough that I didn't get false positives once I started on the OPK again. But I saw +OPK twice last month, and we only dtd once. So... I dunno. Cautiously optimistic but not really believing it yet? Possibly tiptoeing into the room and hanging out near the door?

I got a "not pregnant" on the digi this morning (after a crap night sleep due to baby boy), then I tested again after making sure I "held it" (tmi?) for at least 4 hours this afternoon and got "not pregnant" again. Sob!
Sigh. Either it's a chemical or I'm over-eager and the hcg is at an "iffy" level for testing yet. It's gonna take all I've got, but I'm planning to hold off testing again for a couple of days and see what happens.
I'm trying to be positive and say that worst case...I'll try again next moth and have to be an honorary member of this group, due in May instead of April. :)

Okay, so it's official... we're having a boy!!! When I asked her how sure she was, she said money back guarantee, 100%, so I think we're safe :-) She also did a full anatomy scan while she was at it and everything is in it's rightful place and looking good! Below are our two obvious boy part pics, lol

We were only 14w1d, but the woman who did our scan has been doing early gender detection for 21 years and is a pro at it, lol. I think you'd have a good chance at guessing based on nub theory at 13w5d if you can get a good shot and have a nice tech :-) I think I've heard that it's easier to confirm a boy early though, and harder to confirm a girl. Of course even if you don't, the 17th will be here before you know it!!

Well, this woman was one where we went to her and paid out of pocket for the gender scan. The tech at our OB where they do the NT testing and all that wasn't too nice, although in the end, she softened up. Ar first when I asked her if she could get a nub shot she said she wouldn't because she doesn't like to guess unless she's 100%. I wasn't asking her ti guess! I just wanted her to take a picture so I could guess!! IN the end, she did give us some nub shots and even commented that she would be shocked if it wasn't a boy, so it worked out, but still. I was annoyed when her first reaction is to tell a woman that she won't do a nub shot. Why would that hurt her? She doesn't have to make any guesses, but it's not her baby. The mother should be able to have a nub shot if she wants! Anyhoo, I hope your tech is cool and will get you a good nub shot so we all can have fun guessing on here :-)

Hello everyone, we got our BFP a few days ago on holiday in Egypt. Really lovely way to end our first wedding anniversary holiday. We are both hoping for a little girl but would be happy with either deep down. We started with the LE diet and various other swaying tactics but DH has a low sperm count so we stopped swaying as hard and 6 months later, here we are.
Only 5 weeks currently and due in April :)

Congrats on the new BFP!
We had our scan today at 13 weeks5days
Baby was so cute, really wriggly and most importantly all is how it should be at this stage.
The tech said she would be able to tell the gender but I chickened out! So will stay team green. Yet I have been on the net like a crazy person looking at nub shots and try to guess! Here's my baba20657

Crazycat, idk if you talked about it before but can you make a little list of what's different between this pregnancy and your dd so far? I'm starting to think I must be having a girl bc at this point, I feel the same as I did with her which is a lot of nothing lol I def had less morning sickness aka none, but that's about it! Luckyduck, yes, I think they are different in some of the stereotypical ways, which is funny. Of course they are similar as well. With both, my MS started right at 6 weeks, but with DD it was worse and I lost over 10lbs and couldn't keep much down. With this one, I feel like I've managed it better, but also have a better medicine too, so I'm not sure if it really would have been as bad or not. My boobs are about the same soreness, and the fatigue and having to pee is the same, but I think those are just general pregnancy symptoms. I have had a lot more headaches with this one, which I don't remember getting much with DD. The main difference I've noticed is in food cravings. From day 1 with this one, I've been craving protein (could also be because I was on the HE diet leading up to this and eating tons of protein on that). Carbs too, but only when with protein. I have been loving eggs and meat and peanut butter and the only thing I can drink is milk, and TONS of it! I can't drink anything sweet like juice or soda, and am not fond of sweets in general, except straight chocolate, but I have always been a chocoholic :-) Oh, and I am eating like a 300lb man! I am hungry all the time and can take down some serious food! With DD, once I could start eating, all I wanted was ice cream and candy, lol. I loved sweets with her! But even though I wanted sweets, I still didn't eat a ton of food. Oh, and I loved OJ and fruits in general too. So yeah, the main differences I've found has been less MS (but that could be attributed to the better drugs) and then the difference in cravings and appetite, but to me, that is a big difference!

I found that my boy pregnancies were different from my girl one in strange ways. With my boys I had horrible insomnia and my back broke out like crazy. I hated it. Lol. With my girl I didn't have either of those symptoms, but I did gain heartburn and moodiness.
Overall, my nausea, cravings, and tiredness were the same for all three (this one has been a bit worse for both nausea and tiredness, but cravings are the same).
I will be very curious to find out what this one is. I do not have insomnia or back acne. I do have heartburn and moodiness. But I kinda think maybe its a trickster. Lol. I haven't had headaches with any of the pregnancies. All three of my first pregnancies I had sore boobs pretty early on and lasting til 10+ weeks. This time they weren't sore much, but itchy and my nipples were sensitive. I tease DH that if there was a third gender, I'd guess that this time ;)
I enjoy symptom guessing. I know it's not accurate and there are those who have completely opposite symptoms and have the same gender and those who have extremely similar pregnancies and opposite genders. But it's fun anyhow!

I'm curious too and trying hard not to get my hoped up based on symptoms
With my son, I had 0 symptoms except nipples turning dark. This pregnancy, I've been sick starting at 7 weeks. Mild nausea throughout and threw up a few times. I've also had major food aversions.
I've also got sore boobs, itchy nipples and super dry hair+ skin
I'm hoping and praying thst opposite symptoms mean something because both sides of our families have preety mich told us it's a boy and even picked out names
I was completely exhausted the first trimester but I've noticed it getting better within last week.

My pregnancies have been so different that I can't see connection to symptoms or cravings for me....
DS1 no ms, no food aversions, bit. tired, moody, ate alot of sour apples, really hungry!
DS2 moody, beyond exhausted, metallic taste, major food aversions, bad nausea from 4-12 weeks.
This pregnancy hungry and sick nausea started later fully kicked in at 7 weeks, no major food aversions, sour taste in mouth, really sore boobs and quite calm and happy not moody, bad acne.
So I give up!! I agree its fun to guess Xxx

welcome lfc_sarah and congrats!!
Lavie - great pic, I am not a guesser so can't really guess based on the pic but it looks great
Regarding symptoms, I had headaches last time, I have headaches this time, was very spotty last time, I am definitely spotty this time (maybe less so but not sure), feel a lot more sick this time, get dreadful dizzy spells which I did not get last time. Boobs have gone up a cup size like last time. Cravings have been slightly different - last time I just wanted sugar - ice-cream, chocolate, cakes, I even put sugar on my porridge and I never do that. This time I craved more savoury stuff - yorkshire puddings, chips, cheese (cruelly enough, brie and camembert....). However in the last few days i have craved sugar again and made my husband buy me some haribo yesterday - I NEVER eat that!! Oh and the food aversions.....last time could not stand eggs. This time I can't stand smoked things and have been off meat a lot.
I have my NHS dating/nuchal scan tomorrow, I will only be 11w2/11w3 so theres no way we will be able to guess that early but as soon as I can post a pic, I will do. Wish it wasn't so early but I am away from 6th-16th. Really wanted it to be when I got back but the hospital wanted me to have it beforehand but they said if they can't do the nuchal scan due to being too early I will have to go back - praying I have to go back!!!!!

Steph, I feel the same. My scan last week had me at only 10weeks+3 based on my dates but they both measured at 11+2 so they did the NT scan. Makes me a bit nervous that it was so early?? Although once I get referred to the Fetal Medicine Unit (which I have to be cause of twins) I'm sure they'll rescan me - here's hoping anyway. 😕

MyByC, where do you live? Here in the US, insurance will only pay for a scan at 12 weeks for NC and then at 20 weeks for the anatomy scan, where they will then also tell you your gender. They will do more if you're high risk, but for a normal pregnancy, that's all you get. Of course there are tons of private places that you can go to and pay. We did an early gender scan at 14 weeks with a private place and was charged $100, but she also did a full anatomy scan while she was looking, which is nice because it gave us a bit of peace of mind. The woman who did ours is from the UK and said they are a bit ahead of the US in this department and that she doesn't understand why they won't do gender here at the NC scan, as all the info is there for them to be able to if they wanted. Strange.
Stefk - I see you're in the UK, so it may be different over there, but one thing I found is that here in the US, almost all cheeses have been pasteurized, even bleu and brie, etc. The real risk is from eating unpasteurized cheese, so as ong as it has been, you can eat it, no matter the kind! Here in the US, you have to go to a pretty fancy place to get it unpasteurized as almost all grocery stores and main ****** restaurants only serve pasteurized foods. I didn't know that when I was pregnant with my daughter and gave up some of my favorite foods, but am so happy I don't have to this time :-)
Kitkat, they say your hcg levels are at their highest at 9 weeks, and some theories think that's one of the main causes for MS, so hopefully once you make it through week 9, it will get better for you! I felt that was mostly accurate. I would still have moments here and there in later weeks where it was bad, but for the most part, I felt better overall after about week 10. Good luck!!
stephk
September 2nd, 2014, 11:37 AM
ooh crazycat great point on the cheese. I will check whether the ones on sale are pasturised and you are probably right, as a safety point, they probably are.
regarding the scans, in the UK we only get one at around 12 weeks for nuchal testing and one at 20 weeks to check for abnormalities, check the heart, etc etc. The purpose of the 20 week scan isnt to find out the gender and some hospitals wont tell you but I think a lot of them do if you ask. If you want to pay privately some go as early as 14 weeks. Otherwise there is the harmony test from 10 weeks and that is £500. I am not really able to pay these prices so I can wait.
MyByC - I only paid for one photo today because I knew I would be coming back in 2 weeks. I would be really surprised if anyone could tell anything from todays photo but I suppose there are experts out there that can :) - its amazing that you can go every week by the way!!

Crazycatcouple, I live in Romania and I do have an insurrance(which most people not have in here) but at a private clinic and I can go as often as I want.
I heard that even for ovulation doctors dont even want to hear in some other countries but here yes, they do and they help.
I do believe it is important to have a scan at least once/month since there are so many things we miss these days. A friend lost her baby at 12 weeks and she didnt felt anything..no blood, nothing! She went for blood analyse in hospital and meet the doctor on corridor and he said "if you are still here, let's see how baby is doing. I'm free for 5 minutes"....the baby didnt had a heartbeat since 10 weeks...if she would have stayed a few more days, probably she had a intern hemoragy and die...It was bad luck for her to misscariege but also a luck that she meat the doctor ........so I think the system outside is crazy!
Another sad story with a friend this year...she went for natural birth at 39 years old...she waited for last moment..39 weeks came, 40 weeks came...and the water broke...she called her doctor(not a private place) and he said she should go when she has contractions from 10 to 10 min.....and she listend...but when she got to hospital, the baby was dead...got strangled with 2 hours before....SOOOO SAD!
That is because the system is bad.
I do believe from 10 to 20 weeks it's a long distance and doctors dont act proper.
I would pay for a scan if it would not be included in my insurrance, to be honest.
Steph, you payed for the pictures as well? Can I ask how much?
Omg, what a system. At my boy, I could get as many as I wanted at each scan.
Thats so weird.
Not sure how to make this picture bigger. I will try to show my doctor but I dont know. And yes, here most doctors tell you at 10-11 weeks if it's a boy or girl.
I thought outside it's even more advanced but I guess not...

We have to pay for all our scans here and they're so expensive and with our last twins I had to have soooo many as they were really high risk (being mono-mono twins). 😕 Our health system here really sux.

wow MyByC your country makes every other country look like we are backward and third world! Such amazing treatment you get there. Its true that doctors here dont care about ovulation and wont help (unless you go private and pay a lot of money that is). They dont even listen to me when I tell them that my periods were irregular before I conceived this time and I did not ovulate on day 14 or even the same cycle day each time. So I have had to lie about when my LMP was otherwise they will just go on about the dates being wrong. My doctor didnt even want to help when I said my luteal phase was between 5-9 days this time. I got PG with it so it all turned out fine but I was paying for acupuncture which probably helped. My scan photo was £4 but I only got one because I knew I would be going back. How many weeks are you now? will you be finding out at 10 weeks?
wow mum that does suck that it is mandatory for you to have them and you have to pay!! What if someone couldnt afford to pay, would they just not have them and risk something going wrong - terrible.

Wow, Romania sounds pretty awesome for having babies :-) And Mum, I can't believe you would have to pay for them out of pocket when it was such high risk! I have a good friend who had mono-mono twins and yes, it is scary and very high risk. Here in the US, insurance will cover anything the doctors deem necessary, so for high risk, it would be covered. It just that you don't get much if you have a relatively uneventful pregnancy. Of course, I think I'd rather have an uneventful pregnancy and get no scans paid for than have reason to be high risk and need them, so I suppose the system is not all bad. At least there is the option to go to a private place for more if you want, and it's not super expensive.
To you ladies with stomach bugs, I hope you feel better and are on the mend! Those are the worst, and being pregnant through one has to be even more so :-(

Girls, actually if you go in state hospital(not private) the conditions are miserbale and you actually have to pay the doctors to get attention(but once you put in their pocket 20-30€) then they give you all the attention you need.
And yes, you can go both types of hospitals as many times as you want.
Steph, I am not pregnant. I moved my sway to November. Hope it's my month.
Pls send me a private message with the picture you have closer or more clear. I'll show to my doctor. I dont know if he could help but will try.
