Thanks everyone! I am still a little nervous that something will change. I was so emotional about it last night too. Happy tears and then missing my mom tears bc I won't get to share this with her. AND THEN, I got scared. I know how to be a boy mom but I have no idea how to be a girl mom. I know how to do hair bc I fostered my husbands niece for six months but I just got nervous. I also got nervous about how it's going to change the family dynamic. I think I just settled into the idea that I would never have a girl. I got nervous with each other pregnancy too, so maybe it is natural. It's just crazy all these emotions I've been feeling in a period of 24hrs.

Hi ladies, just had my scan.
Baby is growing and seems very healthy (but a bit big, measures 10 days ahead).
I didn't hear pink though. It's my third little boy growing.
I'm not shocked, I had a feeling it would be, but I have to admit I feel a bit disappointed. I know I will get over it and I know I will love him unconditionally but I need to accept the thought of not having a girl as well.
I am back at work and everyone already asked me but I didn't get any "bad" comments. My mom also called directly and she was just over the moon to hear it was healthy.
I could see the little boy parts myself and asked the tech if I was right. She said "wow, your good at spotting those", and I said "Well, I've seen them before".
Oh well, have to try to focus on work for another hour now, but wanted to update you girls with my result.

Hi Ladies. I've been MIA for a bit due to a work conference and am just about to head off to another one, but wanted to stop in and catch up.
Congrats future on your little girl!! We were 16 weeks when we found out with our daughter as well :-) And I totally know the feelings you're going through right now. Growing up I always thought I'd be a boy mom, but after starting out as a girl mom, I realize I have no idea what to do with a little boy! It's exciting to have the family dynamic change, but change can be scary sometimes as well, especially if you're a control freak like me, lol.
Marika, congrats on a healthy little guy :-) I'm sure the gd is tough, but you seem to have such a fantastic attitude about it. At this point, do you think you're family will be done having children with 3 or is there another shot for you after this one?

Thanks ladies for your supportive words!
I am sad to say I have reacted more and worse than I thought. Last night I felt really really down and I haven't found piece in the thought of never having the daughter. I know I probably need some time, but I have immediately also started grieving the last loss again that was a confirmed girl and ask myself WHY it had to be her and why I couldn't get a girl again.
Someone asked if it was last baby and it probably is. If DH would have chosen it would have been enough with two. When he sees me now he says he doesn't completely lock the door and throw the key away, but he doesnt wanna dicsuss it either. He says we need to focus on me getting back on track for this baby and he is absolutely right in that. This baby deserves to be as welcome as a daughter of course, and I am 100% sure he will, I am just not there right now.

Huge congrats Futureminime and Marika on your confirmed genders! Marika I am a mom of 3 boys and I have said this before that it's truly brilliant My boys play with each other all day and they really do have a great bond And you never know what's down the line for you We were done at 2 kids and then number 3 came along as a little surprise I thought we were done at 3 but after 2 years we changed our minds again! So enjoy your 3 little men They really will bring some fun into your house!
Futureminime I'm delighted for you too Such wonderful news I hope you're enjoying it sinking in! Did you go shopping yet? I went and bought a good few things last weekend and I still feel I'm buying for someone else It's so strange!!

Thanks Daisymoo, it's really good to hear several of you finding it so lovely to have three boys. And I am sure I will too.
I have to say I got a bit shocked by my own reaction (since I sincerely felt a healthy baby being most important until now) and have spent the day trying to sort out my feelings. I had a long talk to my mother who is a counselor/therapist at the womens clinic at a hospital (where she meets LOTS of pregnant women) and I was totally honest with my feelings. I said it was like someone died, and her reply was that someone actually did. She believes I haven't processed what happened in january and I agree. I focused directly on ttc and my goal was to get pregnant with a girl again. I kept my hopes up I guess and now when it turned out not to be the lost daughter, I lost her for real.
This afternoon I went to the memorial park where I know the hospital put the ashes of the lost baby. This was the first time I went there, I just couldn't do it before but I guess I really need to start processing it for real. I think thats the only way to actually get through that and get back on track with this baby.
Sorry for being a bit OT and personal (maybe this belongs in some other part of the forum) but it's a bit relieving to write about it since I haven't been very open about it IRL.

Daisymoo - I have not bought anything yet but I have started peeking at girl things at work. I get paid tomorrow and really want to pick a little something up. I don;t think I will go crazy with the pink yet though. I want to make sure I see pink again at my anatomy scan on October.
I have been having horrible issues sleeping lately. I go to bed pretty early and keep waking up way too early in the morning (like 2 and 3am) then not being able to fall back asleep. I am a horrible sleeper anyways, but this is awful!

Marika my thoughts are with you.
I can totally understand your feelings and I am very happy for you that you have such a great mother who supports you and here is the right place where you can share your feelings. After two boys I lost a daughter last October and then focussed right away on the New project. I am so sure that I would have gone through the same process you are going through if it would have been another boy. Sure it is the Most important that you find out that you will have a healthy baby but after two lovely boys it is so understandable that you were wishing for a daughter. Take your time for your grief and don't feel guilty for your feelings.... Hugs...

Marika you're alowed to morn the loss of your daughter. You had her. Its so hard.
I never lost a daughter but thought I had to morn the idea of ever holding her when I heard I was expecting ds 3. We said 3 is the limit too. DH opend the door just a little then and there.
I started to see the part were I was gaining a beautifull boy again. And just the peek of hope still being there made me enjoy again.
And there came lots of times were I really felt it Could be enough.
When I learned about swaying we wanted to give ourself a shot at a daughter. (6months we were gonna try) here we are and we are team green still. Because I know how you feel and that hurts.
The worst part is, that it has nothing and nothing to do with that beautifull lovely baby boy inside of you. You know you will love him to the moon and back.
If only you knew she would be with you in the future it would be enough. That not knowing, and knowing you were close that's a loss and you may grieve.
Your boy is your joy and gain. But the pain is harder at this point. It will heal a bit once you have him to cuddle to care for. But give yourself Some space right now to grieve.
Big Hugs!!!
Marika
September 16th, 2014, 10:12 PM
Thank you so much ladies for support and for sharing your stories.
Castch - I am sorry to hear about your loss but happy you ended up with a girl again!
Yes, my mother can be great and she really has been supportive now. I am not always this open to her (I usually don't want her analyzing me) but I quickly realized this was more complicated than I thought and I can't stand feeling all this sorrow when I should be over he moon for a healthy baby. I have decided to see a therapist at the hospital where I was i january. They offered me that back then but I said no thanks, I just wanted to move on in my own way. I called back yesterday though and said I think I might need it.
I know the process has many steps and I am in the chaotic beginning phase of crying now, but I think some good guidance in sorting the emotions out and putting words on them can stop me from getting stuck in it. I know there is a profound love for the baby growing, but it's kind of shadowed right now. Hopefully everything will feel better in a few weeks or months, at least I wish I'll be at peace by the time our little baby arrives.

Marika, I felt the same way when I found out about my son. I cried during the whole ultrasound and all night. I woke myself up crying and every time I thought about the shock and my immediate grief I started crying again. I feel like I'm "over it" now and am glad I swayed and glad he's healthy. I am having fun finding things on etsy and making an amazon wish list. It still hurts to think that I had a girl and she's not there, but I have a stronger attachment with Micah because I tried so hard for this pregnancy and he still made it through. Don't feel bad for grieving. It's a real loss, but the good news is that you will have a beautiful bouncing boy as the light at the end of the tunnel.
Marika
September 17th, 2014, 03:28 AM
Thanks for sharing that Abi. For me the reaction came a bit later, I don't know if it was that I could manage to put a happy face on for a while, or if it took me some hours to really let it sink in. I did feel a little disappointment during the scan but it was expected and it felt "normal". I was still happy to see the baby and thought I was gonna be fine. During the late evening it all began feeling worse and all I could think of was the lost girl and "What if things would have been different that time". Why, why, why did that have to happen? And it went on and I couldn't focus on that actual baby I had seen kicking and being so super sweet at the scan the same day.
So happy to hear you are feeling much better - I will hopefully also be writing wish lists and shopping for the baby shortly!

Dreaming good luck with your move!! Nice to see you back here! Hope you saw it wrong in the us and get a big surprise at birth.
@ getting boys when you wanted a girl so bad.
When I found out with DS2 and 3 I did find comfort in making the rooms special. and making all kinds of beautiful things for them.
I cried a lot still. and hated myself for that. that made it even worse. And when they were born I loved them soooo much! I really fell in love!
I'm still sick. I'm tired and restless. and I gag all the time... does it ever end!
(on one hand it gives me hope..... I didn't have this with all three boys... only first three months with them. my mother had first three months with my brothers and all through pg with me.... I know it doesn't say anything and don't wanna get my hopes up)
do you guys also find it annoying when ppl drill you about how you feel.
They ask how is it. I say well.
Are you tired? aren't you sick.. ugh.. I don't want to tell everyone that it is hard. I just want to be in a happy place...
Marika
September 18th, 2014, 05:36 AM
Sweetdream - I hope you'll feel better soon and that the sickness will go away! Very comforting to hear that your tears dried and that you felt nothing but love when you got your sons!
I actually went shopping for some baby clothes yesterday. It felt quite good and I did find some really nice things, and to be honest, I looked a t the girls stuff and couldn't see anything that was more appealing than the things I got. I am not a big fan of pink etc but like the more classic and neutral kids clothes.
DH is going to France for the weekend so I gave him a wishlist of things to buy if he gets some time - all brands aren't available here and I've decided to find some really nice things for my little son - just like I guess I was dreaming of doing for a little girl.
About myself - I do feel a lot better already. I am processing everything bit by bit and really trying to allow all feelings to come out, no matter how painful it is. Got an appointment at the clinic where I was in january for tomorrow and hopefully will feel even better after that. I think that will help me to a closure for at least a part of whats creating all this sorrow.
Thanks again ladies for all the supportive words, it does mean a lot!

Dreaming - Good luck with the selling and buying process! I am sure it is very stressful but it must be exciting too!
Sweetdream - I hope you feel better soon! I do have different symptoms this time around than I had with my boys! I was much sicker (although it has now seemed to let up, mostly), I am much more tired and I am breaking out through this pregnancy when I was super clear through the last two. So maybe difference in symptoms will make a difference for you, too!
Marika - I am glad to hear you are feeling better.

Just to say that re symptoms this time round I am way more sick and have spots on my face every week whereas with my boys I had glowing skin and wasn't that sick My hair is moulting like I've never seen before and my bump is huge! I definitely think different symptoms can point to different gender but then that's just me It might be different for somebody else
Best of luck with the house sale Dreaming How exciting A new baby and new house!!!

thx for giving me hope ladys. it's so hard. I feel like I'm back in the first trimester some of the time. (it's a little less intens) but I'm gagging when I wake up in the morning. Or when I get hungry (and to late to eat.. no hunger feelings)
My skin is different. with the boys I broke out more and was more like eczema.. (how do you write that)
Now it's more clear and outbreaks different area.
My boobs are bigger. my bump was different with all three (but weight is part of that too)
I'm more tired... Longer tired.
I really LOOOOVEEED! bread with the boys. Now I do not that much. I eat it because it's easy not because I love it.
On the other hand I wished I had the same symptoms.. so I wouldn't get (false) hope....
well I just have to deal with it.
Almost weekend! just keep breathing.
in a week and a half I have my us. and I love the idea of peeking at our little one. I hope it grows well.. My bump was growing faster but it seem to be slowly now...
I love the movement. I think this baby is gonna be strong too! On one hand I'm glad I can enjoy this for about another 20 weeks. on the other hand... Can't wait to hold it.
But cause it's our last I really want to enjoy this last pregnancy!

Hugs to the Arimethia, Marika and Abifasc for hearing that you have sway opposites! It's happened to me, too, and all three of you are handling it with more grace and acceptance than I did. Kudos, and I have every confidence that seeing your boys' sweet faces will take care of any lingering doubts.
Sweetdream, I'm having a VERY opposite pregnancy. Hair growing when it almost stopped with my boys, weight gain like crazy when I gained only 27 and 33 lbs with my boys, want junk food instead of healthy food like me previous pregnancies, no morning sickness, lots of aches and pains that have landed me on the couch whereas I CROSSFITTED through my pregnancy with DS2! Sigh, I'm so thankful for the pool at my gym. It's the only thing that lets me work out without crazy abdominal cramping!
Sorry I've been MIA lately. Still trying to get my little online knitted items shop off the ground. Soon, I'll be done making patterns (I hope!)

seems we've hit a lull, ladies! I'm going batty. Seriously batty. It feels like every part of my life is under siege. DH and i are out of sorts (over some stupid things and other not so stupid things). My house is a cluttered mess (one of the "stupid" things were are out of sorts about). I want to smack my boss on a daily basis (though she and I get along great). I'm very bitter that though I have the option of remaining with my agency after the merger, my option is to go back to shift work (days, evenings, weekends). It sucks and I want to cry about it every single day. My mom has to go back in for knee surgery (she just got home from knee surgery on August 11), which is draining...her hospital is an hour away.
All I really, really, REALLY want is to take care of me...just me...for once without having to take care of everyone else first. I want a whole day where I can just lounge and bed and cry (if I want) without feeling guilty about not using that time to clean, organize, go to work....
Pity party -- table for one over here! Just whining over things that will not change.....

Oh Angie! I'm sorry that everything is making you feel crazy! I definitely understand. I am exhausted from dealing with work and kids and their school and all the extra. Plus October is my momma's birthday so that is always a tough time. I have been wishing for a day when I can stay home from work and just rest and not think about everything! I hope that everything eases up for you soon. It can be so tiring to have all of that on your shoulders!
Btw, I have always been a firm believer of taking personal days for yourself away from work. It really helps me. I don't abuse it, of course, but it really is helpful!

Angie- I totally hear you. It is SO easy to get wrapped up in the monotonous difficulties of life. I would agree with future- taking me days are my saving grace- I feel rejuvenated and ready to handle the husband, the kid and the dogs- lol.

I had the strangest dream.
I had An ultrasoundmachine at home. Borrowed it.
We couldn't see between the legs so Well.
When we did it looked like a girl. My DH filmed it.
When I looked back we saw that it was a boy,

That is a crazy dream, Sweetdream! I just had a dream that I had the baby but it ended up being a boy. I am really nervous that somehow the ultrasound at 16 weeks was wrong and that it will be a boy, so I am sure that is hopefully why. My dreams have never been an accurate prediction of gender anyway and I never have a strong intuitive feeling either way.
Hope everyone is doing well. It has been a little slower than usual. I generally have a hard time keeping up :-)

I don't think it predicts anything too. Its just the 20 Wk us is around the corner wich means opportunity to look. But I'm scared I hear boy when I Actualy believe that it Could be a girl.

Had my scan today. They could not get a good picture of the spine, so the tech told me not to be surprised if they call me in for a rescan. She didn't say anything else about health....so I assume no news is good news :)
Introducing.....
http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff158/angielorna/sweetbabygirl-1.jpg (http://s238.photobucket.com/user/angielorna/media/sweetbabygirl-1.jpg.html)
My daughter :o
I was so so so so so 100% sure this baby was a boy!!! When the tech was looking at her bladder/kidneys, I thought I saw three lines....but said no, I'm looking at something else. When she asked if I wanted to know the gender, I asked if she could show us so she pointed it out and said there. I said oh, it's a boy, right? She looks at me and says nooooooo, do you see those three lines? It's a girl. OMG. I saw the three lines (did not get a picture) and nothing boyish....I'm in SHOCK. Utter SHOCK. She had better be right!!!

and, of course, baby is measuring waaaay ahead of schedule. I'm 18w4d and measurements ran anywhere from 19w4d to 21w3d. The tech said baby's in the 99th percentile for measurements and is weighing more than expected too. lol, my boys were 9pds 4oz and 9pds 7oz....so no surprise there :P

Thank you everyone! I'm still so surprised. I am so grateful to everyone here who supported me through my sway. I didn't think it would be enough....but, somehow, it was. I cannot believe I'm going to have a girl :ballerina:
I must admit, though, I don't think I'll feel 100% confident about this pregnancy until I have a healthy baby in my arms at the end.
Love to all! Thank you so much!

Robin, I bet you have some high heels!! That's a huge height difference! So far with your other two, do they take after you or hubby in that regard?
I too have been packing on the pounds!! I eat like a 6'2" 280lb man, lol. Hoping this one comes a little early like the last so he doesn't have time to get too huge!

Crazycat. It's done!
I thought the nausea was over. Yesterday evening I threw up again. And I'm nausea again this morning. Also i feel emotional unstable. And very tired.
Tomorrow I have my scan. I'm looking forward to it.
After being very down in the believe this must be a boy. I feel like it still van be a girl though.
I startend thinking About my us at 15 weeks, and I saw a very flat line. But I was convinced that the nub was gone by then, now i think i saw a girl nub. And my boys were different from the Side at that gestation. (No clear lines to be seen)
And now I just want to see a healthy baby!
It's a real actieve baby! I love Feeling it all day long. It kicks low. I want to cuddle it!
Did i mention that I orderd the stroller.?
The baby gets a place in our room and i need to restyle the dresser.
I just hope i get more energy soon. I want to make the frist outfit and do lost of stuff! It takes long to feel better this time around.
( i'm ok now... The nausea goes as quickly as it comes. But thatmultiple times a day. I gained quit a bit of weight already too.. So.. Unfortunnaly it doesn't help with that Lol)

Thank you all. What An amazing Feeling this is.
What happend... I was having doubts bout team green. I didn't want to tell anyone cause if i heard boy again i wanted to deal with that first.
I did planned on team green but wanted to see how it went.
And the tech understood me so well, she knew what i wanted. She knew i wanted to know this. And kind of steered me in to the direction of looking.
It's amazing, i'm baking my girl!!!!

After my scan last week at 23rd week (still a girl ;-)) I started some shopping and guess what - all in pink ;-)... There is much more choice and I had really Problems to decide the Design for the textiles for the Baby room. It was much easier for my boys ;-)...
Good luck for your scan Kitkat..

I saw in the other Thread she had a good ultrasound.
How is everyone doing? It's so quiet her now.
Is anyone doing a 3D ultrasound?
I think About it.
Our baby is so quiet today. I do feel kicks at times but just one and it Goes quiet again. I need to make diner. But just want to sit here for a little while to feel kicks.
Are you Guys making rooms already?
Abi and marika how wee your Guys doing? I'm thinking bout you spacialy a lot.

It is quiet here lately! I have my anatomy scan next Tuesday and I am hoping to still see girly bits! I have been holding off on buying much, although I did cave and get several outfits. I want to buy crib bedding and that sort of thing after Tuesday. I have also been having some pain right where my right kidney is. I have kidney stones in both kidneys but my right one is the only one that has ever troubled me. I am waiting to find out if it is pain from the stone again or an infection. Hopefully they can tell that with lab work only. The pain has subsided quite a bit this AM though, so hopefully it will stay away.
We do have a 3d ultrasound scheduled later in the pregnancy. We have done them with both our boys so want to make sure we do one with this little one too.
Hope everyone else is doing well!

Congratulations Angie and sweetdream, and good luck to kitkat and Futureminime! Hoping everyone gets what they want :)
I have been having trouble sleeping. DD doesn't seem to like me sleeping on my side (which is the only way I'm comfortable) and she kicks and moves constantly until I roll onto my back, which compresses my lungs and digestive system and gives me heartburn. So, I can try to be comfortable on my side with a squirmy baby (maybe she hates that laying on my side pushes on her?) or I can lay awake on my back, unhappy and uncomfortable, but with a belly that isn't quivering with activity. Sigh, she's already arguing with me and making it clear that she's stubborn!
I've had to switch to swimming for my gym activities, because of all the cramping and contractions while I was on the treadmill. So far, so good, and it's nice taking a shower at the gym without my boys bugging me every two seconds.
I'm taking a class tomorrow on how to use my serger, and I'm super excited to really get going on making some cute little dresses, blankets, and a mei tai for baby girl! Anyone else getting crafty in anticipation of the baby?
My mom is throwing me a baby shower after all, and in registering for baby stuff, I realized that I'm STILL choosing greens and gender neutrals. Funny, huh? I've been dreaming about buying for a girl, but now I don't want her to have the pink bottle, pink baby carrier and pink stroller. I DO want her to have bows and ruffles and sundresses, I just want them in other colors.

I am going to be making my own baby mobile (though in all likelihood baby will be too old for it by the time he makes it in the crib) and my hubby aged some shutters I'll be hanging on the walls and then using as a storage system. I have actually been having a hard time getting his room done. I'm usually a go go person until it's all finished but for some reason am feeling super lazy. It's been hard to exercise too- wish I had pool access!
Georgia_Peach
October 3rd, 2014, 08:31 PM
I have started buying her crib stuff. Also purchased pink stroller and swing. Our new house will be ready in 3 months after her birth so I won't be doing her nursery until then which is a huge bummer. I hate not having a room for her but just doesn't make sense to do all of it to move.
We are in Florida on vacation and honestly these past couple of days of walking through the theme parks have been hard! I'm exhausted. I'm a big ride goer so it's been hard not being able to go on rides with my boys....
I have my 20 week scan next Tues. Excited to see her again! 😃

Ds2 will be moving in with ds1 this month. After he's settled and doing well, I'll start thinking about changing his room slightly. Baby will room with us for the first 4-6 months, so no rush there.
We did 3d with both boys, so we will be doing one again. Probably around 28 weeks. So exciting :D

Nice to hear all your baby talk and plans!! It still feels a way off but then I think OMG its only six months!!
Had my scan it was magic measured 13 weeks thought I got a wee bit of a girly vibe but could be wishful thinking!! My DH kept saying is that the wanger?? It was actually the umbilical cord, he is desperate for 3 boys hence my solo sway!! Hehe
Will post some photos soon, the ones they took were nub useless but I have a video I will take some stills from just exhausted right now!

This are 2 things i bought.
I wrote whole message but its gone. Grrr
Again...
The boys share a room and the babyroom is playroom now. I want to leave it that way for a while.
Baby wil go in our room for a while. We bought a queen ann dressor wich i need to paint. I want to paint our room as well. So work enough.
We do have a crib but I will be borrowing the super romantic crib from sil.
I want to make the first outfit and i will be making some bedding. As i did with my sons.
We did do 3D ultrasound with the last 2. But wanted to skip this time cause i was afraid i could tell gender by looking at the face. But now we know and i really want to see little one again. Waiting will be so long!

Sunflower- yes we did disney magic kingdom and Hollywood studios and universal studios! Exhausting! Lol but kids love it. Magic kingdom was great I could do Peter pan ride and haunted mansion etc. Universal I could do some if they had stationary seating. Overall it's been fun but I'm very ready to return home Monday.
We have rented a mini van while here to see if I want to get one for the family. I'm torn between 7 seater and van. I want a suv more but it's so much more practical to go the van route. Not sure?

I hope I have energy for next months trip. I'll be about 24 weeks. Im sure I'll miss the rides. I love roller coasters. Oh well!
I'm 17 weeks now and still have nausea almost all day.
I have a Honda Odyssey and I love it but DH needs a bigger vehicle too so I dont want to get another mini van BUT my van is awesome!!! A push of a button the boys jump in and out. So the convenient factor is great!

Sweet dream just divine :) enjoy, it must be such a treat buying girly clothes.
We got a Toyota Ipsum it has three seats in the middle and two in the back so you can either use two seats in back or have more boot space. Our mechanic and a few mummy blogs recommended this car so we just zeroed in on it!
Sunflower you poor thing im sorry the nausea is still here for you.
Your trip sounds like fun! I would be sad to be missing out on the rides too but it will be fun to watch your boys!

I've been trying to catch up and see some of you are on holidays and some heading off soon Wish I was ye! Enjoy the break Sounds lovely
With regards to baby rooms we won't have a nursery as such as our little lady will sleep in our room for the first few months and then maybe we'll move out of that room and move to a room upstairs and give her our room We only have three bedrooms and at the moment my three boys are sharing a room and they absolutely love it! They don't want to be separated at all! Long may that last!

I went for my 20 week scan today. Baby looked great. . But I must admit I too was worried she may have sprouted something in between her legs since my 3d scan. The tech said she wasn't in the best position but she said she's 95% sure it's a girl. I feel like it's pretty good chances but wish she was 100. Lol.
Looking forward to hear all the other ladies results!
FutureMiniMe
October 7th, 2014, 01:57 PM
Congrats on good scans, ladies! Robin - I have heard that tech's never offer 100% certainty because there is always a chance of something being wrong. If that is true, then 95% chance would nearly be as close to certain as they ever offer, which is really good!
My ultrasound today was pushed up and became a level II because my blood tests came back with a 1/200 chance of Downs. Worrying, but not too much. That is still just .5% chance and it sounds like these tests are notorious for giving false positives. This might mean that I will be offered a Maternit21 test which will also confirm gender. Lots of praying going on for me today and looking forward to seeing the baby in greater detail than normal.

Thanks Robin, Kitkat, and Daisy! The scan went great! They didn't see any signs of defects, said everything looked great. We saw a very clear shot of little girl parts again!!! And I am getting the blood test to see what that reveals. It actually ended up being the harmony test, but similar to MaterniT21. I am not very worried. If it had been 1/201, they wouldn't have even raised the issue.

Hi ladies!
Haven't been in for a while - had to try to focus on other things than gender. Have to say I feel a lot better now (thankfully!). Have been talking a lot to my dh and also to mum and it's been good for me I think. DH even says he is willing to go HT for a #4 if the longing for a girl is still strong after our third little son. I think that helps a lot too, before I was pretty set on that this is definitely our last.
I can see we have got some more new confirmed girls in here - big congrats!!
We're going away for vacations for a few weeks from today, but I just wanted to pop in and say hi and catch up a little!
Hope you are all doing well!

Hey ladies! Sorry I don't pop in often, but so glad to hear everyone is doing well!
I have the yucky glucose test tomorrow at my 28 week appt *gag*
I feel like I carry the same no matter the gender- I gain weight all over during pregnancy, and feel huge...I consistently measure 2 weeks ahead just like last pregnancy. I see others posting bump pics, and I finally got dh to take a quick picture of me yesterday since i haven't taken a single photo yet this whole pregnancy!
Can't believe I still have 12 weeks to go- think I might outgrow my maternity clothes :O

It has been quiet - things have been busy for me! I love seeing bump pics. I'll post one soon!I feel huge but everyone says I'm small. I cannot believe I have only 10 more weeks to go! I am trying to quiet my fears about labor- it's coming up quickly! I carried my little girl lower and this little higher which I think is the opposite of the old wives tale.

I've never made it to my due date. DS1 was 2 1/2 weeks early, and DS2 was 1 day early, but you never know with #3! I'm kinda hoping she comes on her due date. In the US, her due date is written 12/13/14, which would be SO cool to have as a birthdate! Then again, she'll come when she comes, and there's not much I can do to control it :)
I've been knitting and sewing up a storm for this LO, and I'm set to do tie-dye and dip dye in a couple of weeks. Ugh, and I need to finish making costumes for my boys! Sigh, it'd be so much easier if third trimester wasn't so exhausting!
My baby bump is SO horizontal. I'm all baby, all in front, and I look HUGE because I'm so short. I met a woman last week who was two weeks ahead of me, and looked like I did at 16 weeks. Sigh, every pregnant body is beautiful, and our differences should be celebrated, but it feels so lame to look like I'm overdue or having twins when I have two months left.
Heartburn is epic (again!) and even Prilosec isn't taking it all away. I've had to modify my diet, eat earlier, eat less for dinner, and raise my pillow. The end is always a gastro-esophageal nightmare, but I'm hoping I can control it a little better this time. I'd like to have her without being unable to sleep for weeks prior to her arrival.

My boys were both early, too. Ds1 was 2 weeks early and ds2 was 1 weeks early. I'm curious if they will chameleon my due date based on my last ultrasound. Baby measured anywhere between 1.5-3 weeks ahead, depending on which part was being measured. Still hoping my dr sends me for another soon!

Hi ladies! Loving all the bumps! U all look gorgeous!
I haven't started washing anything as yet, but the blue clothing collection has started already. Just need to find some space for the little guys things!
Our due date is now revised to the 15th Jan. So about 10 days earlier. That means we have 3 months to go. I can't wait. I am a bit over being pregnant, but mostly can't wait to meet our last baby!
This is a pic of my bump 1 week ago so I was about 25weeks 5 days. I have put on weight mostly around my hips and butt, my belly is yet to overtake my boobs haha.
Overall I Have been a bit slack with taking pics and recording dates too this time around.
Hope everyone is well xo

Oncue you don't even look pregnant! You look amazing!! After my ultrasound they changed my due date to 15 Jan so we are due the exact same day!! Wonder who'll go first!
Like you Yahmama I gave away everything after ds3 I kept a few little newborn neutral stuff but there's very little in the bag so I have been buying a few bits every week when I do my grocery shopping I'm getting two bags of pink clothes from friends and I can't wait to get my hands on them!
Lilith you're so lucky that you can knit I love knitted baby stuff My aunt always gives me hats and cardigans that she made me when we have a new baby so hopefully we'll be getting a few more this time There's something so special about homemade clothes I think And I bet you look wonderful We always feel bigger than we look Hope your heartburn eases up a bit
By the way my first two boys were 4 days and 9 days late and my third boy was 5 days early so you never know when they'll make an appearance! Be prepared!!!
Momto4boyz sorry to hear about your sciatic nerve That can't be nice when you're pregnant There's enough going on elsewhere besides having that pain As you say though it'll all be worth it in the end x

Hi Ladies! I've got a stinking cold, so I'm miserable (not taking any meds). I've noticed a change in how I walk the past few days....my back is not enjoying it at all. Have a prenatal app't today with my family doctor...I think it might be the last (or second to last) one until I start seeing the OB at (approx) 27 weeks. I have a follow up ultrasound tomorrow -- hopefully it will put my fears to rest that baby girl has grown a penis since the last time we saw her! I'm going to ask for a potty shot this time around so I have something to examine when I feel uncertain! I told DH that our boys would be so sad to hear it's not the sister they've been talking about for weeks. He claims no one would be sadder than his family...IDK about that though. I'm sure they'd be sad (the grandchildren started out with a girl followed by 7 boys and this baby will be their last and it's a girl). Last year my niece asked for a girl cousin for Christmas (she's 12). She is making lists of things they will do together (even though we only see them a few times a year). But I think our boys would still be sadder....my oldest has been asking for a baby sister forever!
Where is everyone feeling movements? This baby seems to be really low and lying across rather than up/down (I know, still lots of time to move). I'm feeling movement across my hip area (maybe a little higher). I seem to remember the boys' movements being higher than that at this time. It's the weirdest sensation.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing well.

Angie, I'd be careful about a potty shot at later than 22 weeks. There were several ultrasound techs on IG who warned against it because later ultrasounds of boys can have "hidden junk" because it's so crowded in there, and baby girls can have swollen parts that look like boy parts. I was told, repeatedly, by many ultrasound techs, that the most accurate scans are done between 18-22 weeks. In other words, I'd relax and be confident in my baby girl if I were you :)

October 21st, 2014, 02:39 PM
Angie come on don't go down that road. She is a girl.
Listen to wise lillith.
I had my apointment with the midwife today. Baby is still a girl.
Everything was fine. She is shy. And lies low since beginning too.
Her head lays on my left hip. And then with her back almost against the how you call it (pubic bone)? She is quite the busy lady though. Wich i love and helps me enjoy cause pg is hard this time. Now I've got my sort of inflammation in my neck (again)
But hoping times will turn and things go a bit smoother in the next couple of weeks.

Angie, I'm the same, had my scan last Friday at 36 weeks because baby is breech but still asked her to check gender for me!! Only natural to fret and worry. My 3 boys are so excited to meet their sister, as are me and dh and my family (she will be the only granddaughter), and my friends too. I've worried all along even tho I know the harmony result should have been enough xx

I got my NIPT results back and the risk for chromosomal issues is now 1/10,000 which is fantastic! Also confirmed that we still have a little lady in there ! I think now after two ultrasounds and the Harmony results, I can be 100% sure. I have started buying girly stuff and one of my best friends just sent me a gift with a beautiful dress, a cute little grey outfit and a blanket. I will be purchasing bedding with my next paycheck and start getting into figuring out how to set up her room. We have so much work to do not only to prepare for our little girl but in working on all areas of our house and yard that we have been neglecting.
And, I am so over work! I wish I could figure out a way to get out of it early (without it being because baby is in some sort of danger). I know I talked all about the possibility of becoming a stay at home mom once the baby is here. Dh and I decided we could give it a shot but thought it would be wise to wait until after the holidays and possibly after maternity leave. I wish I could start now, though!
I have been having sciatic nerve pain and round ligament pain a lot lately and when I work too much, I get really achy in the belly. I have never felt all these issues so early on before. I already don't like bending over picking stuff up or shaving so I wish the weather would hurry up and get cooler so I can start skipping shave days, lol.
Anyway, that's kinda where I am at these days. It has been slow here. Miss seeing all the updates from everyone!

Best of luck tomorrow Angie! I know exactly how you feel I had another gender scan at 25weeks just to confirm to myself that she was all girl as my next scheduled scan is not until 32 weeks! And it really is great to have it confirmed again I only had it confirmed at 18 weeks so as the weeks went by I just needed that extra reassurance for myself I bet it'll be great to see your little daughter again Enjoy it!!!
And to all the ladies who are in pain I really hope you all feel a bit better soon x

Yay! Futuremini, that's great about the test results. I hear you on being done with work. I'm done because it's stressful there - uncertain about what will happen with my job after maternity leave (if I'll still have one I'm happy with).
Thanks for the encouragement ladies :) I'm sure it is a girl....I saw the three lines even before they were pointed out to me (even though I didn't believe it - thought I was looking at something else). I never doubted the boys (but, boys are pretty easy to spot). It's easy to doubt when you are finally getting what your DG. I know it's silly, but I feel bad about typing that last sentence - as though my boys are not my dreams come true because they certainly are! I went from thinking I'd never be able to have my own children to having TWO amazing sons who are so sweet, smart, funny and, of course, lovable to the moon and back. Even as a little girl I always wanted to have daughters, didn't matter to me if I had sons. But now I wouldn't give up my little guys for anything ANYTHING!
Had my prenatal today. Found out that at the end of June, my due date was moved up to Feb 16 (from the 22nd). My dr thinks it will be moved up again since baby is measuring 3 weeks ahead (99.9th percentile). But I think I'll stick with the 16th (and if they move it up, use the date to leave work earlier than anticipated). I'm 22 weeks (23 by my new due date) and my uterus is measuring 26 weeks. I have my ultrasound today -- very curious about how she is measuring now (my last ultrasound was almost a month ago). I wish it was earlier in the day!!!
Still sick -- calling into work again today. I'm probably well enough to go today, but still not 100% so I'm calling in. Going to rest and plan DS2's 4th birthday party/dinner we are having tomorrow night. I can't believe my babiest boy is 4 years old!!! I'm having trouble sleeping tonight (well "last night" it's 5:30 a.m. here and I'm the only one up because I can't get back to sleep for the second time tonight). I've been thinking how badly I feel that my DS2 got the short end of the stick (and, it's going to get shorter). Usual second child stuff -- nothing huge or anything. Probably hormones but I feel like he needs more alone time with me and we need some time to connect. It's a constant attention war with my boys and I think it would be nice for him to feel like #1 for a little while at least. IDK...
Just rambling on and on. How do you make sure your children all get their needs met? Though I am SO SO SO grateful to be pregnant and having another child, I sometimes wonder if it truly was the best decision for the family. I honestly thought if I heard girl it would automatically put all my doubts to rest, but it hasn't. I was so wishy washy about a third child. I wasn't sure we had the resources for another (time, energy, money) but I felt someone was missing from our family. I was afraid I'd regret NOT having another, so I pushed the issue. I find it very amusing that I was ready to quit after 2 months of trying and accept our beautiful family as is and it was my DH who pointed out it hadn't been very long and encouraged me to keep trying (though it was VERY hard to convince him a third was a good idea). If he hadn't done that, I wouldn't be pregnant now (we got pregnant the very next attempt).
I'm going to stop rambling now. It's too early for all of these thoughts -- but it certainly disrupts sleep, especially when I'm sick!

Angie! I hope you feel better soon! I have definitely called in when I could have probably made it through a day at work. I have really changed my thought process when it comes to work/family balance and priorities because a job is not for the rest of your life (even if you do plan to stay there for a long time) but your family is. I have begun to choose family much more often when I began thinking this way, and that includes taking care of myself as I care for this new little family member I am carrying! It helps that I know that I might be able to stay home with my kids soon. I also might not work right up until the very last couple of weeks this time around bc I know I will still have to check in with work and get some things done here after the baby comes. My maternity leave might end up being intermittent leave or something.
I can also relate to the doubts you are having about how another baby will change the family dynamic! I was much more that way when I was pregnant with number two then I am now, but I have still struggled! With the second pregnancy I was just not sure that I could love them both the way they needed to be loved. I was nervous and a little sad about how it would change the love and attention I could give DS1 and I was afraid that I wouldn't feel the same amount of love for ds2 because I loved ds1 so much. It has all worked out, of course! I love them both equally even though I love them differently (if that makes sense). When I found out that we were indeed getting out DG, I got a little nervous about how adding a girl might change the dynamic and either take away some of the bond I have with both sons or that I won't be able to bond with her because of my love for them. This time I have more faith that it will all work out and it will work out for you too! I am sure you already know that. All the fears are normal.

Hi girls, sorry I haven't been very active here...I've been really busy and haven't had a lot of time to catch up. I'm doing good, and Micah is doing great. He's very active and his kicks are strong and can be painful. My other boys are very excited about him and I am too! Time is really flying and I know he and all our little ones will be in our arms shortly. I can't wait to see everyone's baby pictures!
I hope all of you are feeling and doing well :)

Yup. Still a girl :pregnant:
The tech was careful to cover her butt saying mistakes happen, girls are easier to mistake than boys, etc. BUT she spent quite a bit of time in that area and said she did not see anything that looked like boy bits and she could see three lines (as could I) and used the words vaginal wall. So, whew!!!

Hey ladies :-) Sorry I've been MIA for quite a while...life has just been super busy, traveling for work, a short vacation, catching up at work, life, etc. I tried to read from where I left off, and want to comment on everything, but there's just so much!! Congrats to all the new confirmed genders! And I can't believe we have so many who are seriously almost done already...time flies!
I've actually been feeling pretty good lately, which is surprising because I don't remember ever feeling good with Lyra. This pregnancy seems to be easier overall in general, without all the sciatica and heartburn, plus I can actually eat! Of course, I'm gaining more than I wanted, but trying not to worry too much. Attached is the only belly pic I've taken to date, taken last week at 21 weeks with my little photo bomber :-) I am actually bigger than I look in this pic, I swear, but for whatever reason it doesn't seem to show that. I think I'm smaller in the mornings and grow exponentially throughout the day as I stuff my face, lol.
The nursery is coming along a bit. I've bought some boy clothes from the consignment shop, but nothing too exciting. And we finally ordered our bedding, which is on a 12 week wait list, so just in time! We are doing a musical themed nursery. Here's the bedding: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/236491119. And here's the wall decal we picked out: https://www.etsy.com/listing/190362939/music-note-tree-wall-decal?ref=favs_view_21.
Oh, and I *think* we decided on a name. I say think because DH is set, but I'm having a hard time committing. I like it, but I don't know if I love it, but honestly I don't love any boy name, and we've looked at a TON. For now, his name will be Coda Bruce. Bruce is DH's dad's name and my grandfather's name, who was like my dad, so that's a definite. And then Coda is a musical term for "the concluding passage of a piece or movement" and is also the end of a dance, usually the pas de duex, and since DH plays guitar and I danced my whole life, we thought it was cool. Not to mention, this little guy is the conclusion of our family :-) So yeah, I love the meaning behind it, but still trying to fall in love with the actual name. Anyone else having naming difficulties?

Crazycat you look wonderful!!!
But I must confess that little Lyra ( did you know that Lyra is the name of a famous greek instrument?) is the center of attention in this picture!!!
Don't overstress over the name, I didn't like the name of my second DD but it was my DH's turn to choose the name for her, so I couldn't do much and ever since I saw her I've grown to love it since it is assosiated with her!!!
I love the bedding and wall stickers!!!

Mamato, thanks! And yes, that was one of the reasons we loved the name Lyra too - for it's musical ties :-)
I think I just need to start using the name in conversation and getting used to how it feels. You're right though, I think it will all come together once there's an actual little person. Lyra was definitely my name pick, so I suppose I should let DH have more of the deciding factor for this one, and technically Coda was actually one of the names I came up with, lol. It's just tough because I was so in love with the name Lyra and new from even before we got pregnant that that's what her name would be, so the fact that I don't feel quite like that is throwing me off, but I'm sure it will all come together. Thanks for the advice!

Oh, something else i wanted to ask you ladies about. Laughing gas (nitrous oxide) - I heard that it was just recently approved over here in the US to be used during labor. I feel like I've heard some of you ladies from other countries talking about using gas before. Has anyone had experience with it? Good, bad, side effects?, pain management, etc? I plan to ask my doctor about it at our next visit, but just thought I'd see if anyone had any first hand experience with using it and recommended trying it or not. Thanks ladies!

Crazycatcouple you are so tiny and sidenote- Coda and Lyra sound great together- a plus!!Everybody says I'm tiny too but I beg to differ. Below is me at 32 weeks- my shirt made me look even bigger hence the exposed skin- haha. I had a bit of a scare the other night and started bleeding quite a bit (after sex)- had a lot of contractions too. According to the midwife though all is well which is good because neither baby nor I are ready to do this yet!
I haven't heard anything about laughing gas but I'll be going drug-free again so maybe my hospital does it but I just don't know about it.

So glad your bleeding scare turned out ok, Lala! I always got nervous with any bleeding unless it was all the way after full term.
30 wks here and ran into a mom at my Dd's dance class last week that asked me, "So how many days do you have left?" DAYS.... So embarrassing! I just told her "a lot" and I think she got the point that I wasn't due any time soon, lol. I have 3 friends all due this week so hopefully can get a few baby snuggles- can't wait to hold this little one!
Glad to hear all the other updates too of confirmed genders and good test results!

Crazy we use (and I did) laughing gas here in Canada. Honestly during labour you still feel everything but it takes the edge off but really not that noticible!
I used it when I was getting stitched up and then I really felt it. It is instant and as soon as you pull it from your face it goes away so you are in control of how much to use it. One thing I didn't like was while I was using it for the pain during stitches, I almost felt myself fading away...I might have been being dramatic but everything went quiet and it kinda scared me a bit. Luckily I was with it enough to pull it away from my face at that point.
I think the nurses use it to get you to focus on your breathing more than anything. My husband had to tell me that it in fact helped me as I said I didn't feel anything and he was like 'oh nooo, it was def helping! ' lol

Thanks ladies :-). I love hearing positive feedback about the name... It's definitely growing on me.
Lala, your bump is so cute! It's amazing how everything gets harder the further along you get. Getting out of bed, getting the little ones dressed, etc. And so glad the bleeding was nothing serious!
Coocoo, that sounds about like what I read on it... That it relaxes you so the pain is more manageable, but it doesn't actually take it away. I've heard it also helps with anxiety, and can help to speed up a stalled labor too. Interesting stuff! I'm definitely going to ask about it, but it's nice that even if you get it and don't like it, there's nothing lasting about it.

Crazycat you are tiny! U look fab! And Lala I love ur bump, just gorgeous!
Crazy the bedding and wall decal is so cute! I think the name you guys have chosen is so great as it has such a special meaning.
I have never used gas, but my sister did & she said it was good. At one point she felt a bit queasy, so they turned the dose down and that subsided after a few minutes, but overall she said it was useful, and helped her knowing there was something 'extra' incase she needed it.

I didn't realise how much the gas worked until i didn't use it properly with ds3's birth (my hand holding the gas kept jerking the mouthpiece away from my face taking it out my mouth) whereas with ds2's birth it was it my mouth the entire time. It was the only pain relief i had for ds2 & ds3's births. It just makes it a bit fuzzier and gives a focus for your breathing x

I'm not doing well.
Only 24 wks. I haven't had a moment yet were i felt ok. I have had severe pelvic pain. Just went to therapist. She can probebly help me. It's blocked and instable.
Its most likely the cause of my neck problems too.
I've cried a lot the past 2 days. I just need a break.
I can't handle any pain any more.
Hopefully this was the last til labor.
My mother is gonna help ,e with the household once a week. And hopefully DH can jump in some. But he's gotta work. (He's been home early and left late for three days now. )
I feel such a failure... I know i can't help it. But thats how i feel.

Sweetdream, I am so sorry your having such difficulties!! That's great that your mom can help out a bit too, but don't let DH off too easy. I know he has to work, so he obviously can't do much while he's away at work, but let him step up when he's home. Men are capable of so much more than they think, lol. Dh already helps a lot. But he's chaotic and i have to ask everything. When i do he does want to do it, but forgets 80% of the time.
He always brings the boys to bedd. When hes home he walks the dog. He cooks half the time. He helps now with food for the boys to school. He does the dishwasher kitchen in the evening.
(But the kitchen is never completely empty and always just before turning in. He wouldn't vacuum or do the toilet/bathroom out of his own. And he leaves a trale if trash were hes been (we all do) but if i cant clean its harsh to keep it in order.

I see things more positive today. The pain is much less. I have hopes it will be better i just need to function a bit till the vacation end of december.

My 30 week appt is tomorrow. Its getting harder for me to act like I dont know the gender around my friends. Only 1 knows we really found out but she doesnt even know its a boy. I told eveyone "we're haviing a surprise this time" so its not really a lie, but lately theyre asking me how hard it is for me not knowing and they dont know how I am so calm about not knowing and I have a hard time fibbing and pretending I dont know. Part of me feels like giving in and saying I know but part of the reason I didnt was because I like only dh and me knowing. But I guess I also feel a but guilty. I have 5 close friends that have 3 girls or more (one is having her 6th girl) and they have all said how much they want a boy. One of them is 8 wks with #4 and will find out gender around when Im due and she wants one the most. I dont want any of them to feel worse and just want to be sensitive to them if that makes sense. Trying to figure out if now or at birth would be easier for her and Im praying for her that #4 is a boy so by then maybe it wont matter as much. Sorry for rambling.

Hi ladies!
I am back after a few weeks of vacations, trying to catch up a little in here but I am sure I am missing a lot of posts.
Sorry you are having a hard time Sweetdream - your mother sounds fantastic though! Hope you can get som good help from people around you! (When I was pg with DS2 I had bad back pain and DH was working a lot, so we decided to get cleaning service once a week. That was the best thing EVER, we love it and kept it since!)
Abi - you look great, what a cute bump!!
Last two weeks my bump has grown a lot! Now (at 25+) people are actually starting to notice and ask if we are having a baby, before I guess they weren't sure if I just had put some weight on.
I am doing ok but starting to feel heavy and I have some pelvic pain. Not as bad I thought it would be by now though, since I had some problems even before pg. The kids are excited about the baby and they can feel him moving and kicking inside all the time. Sharing the pregnancy with them is fantastic.
As for GD I feel much much MUCH better now! I still get moments when I can feel down, but mostly I am totally OK. DH is still saying he is open for a nr 4 and HT if I want to (his only concern is which car to have, he doesn't like any of the minivans on the market!), but we will see. Maybe this little guy will complete our family and I might not even have any desire for kids/daughters after him.

Marika, welcome back! I hope you had a nice vacation. And glad to hear the GD is getting better. Pretty cool that your DH is open to adding another and through HT too! We aren't minivan people either, but I have heard it does make life easier. But now a lot of the SUVs have insides that are set up like minivans which is nice. That's what we got - the new Toyota Highlander which has the 2 captain's chairs in the second row and 3 in the back row that's actually quite roomy. You could easily handle 4 kids with something like that!

Marika welcome back! Glad you had a nice vacation.
I hate minivans. We have station were we can add extra seats in the back.
(Though i think a minivan does make life easier lol)
Thx ladys for all your support. I'm doing a little bit better. But I really got to be carefull not doing to much.
The line is still very thin atm. And i feel a bit panic when i feel sore. Just can't handle anymore pain atm. I really need to get stronger before delivery.
I had 2 kids at home wich went very well. I hope to have this one at home too.
Do you guys feel emotional. I get overwelmed at times. Just the feeling i want to cry for no reason. I think i had that with the others too but projected it at GD. Now i don't have that feelings are the same.
Glad for that though. Glad nowing the love for my boys is the same.
Baby moves quite a lot and loving this feeling. Enjoying it too.

I'm not so weepy this time around but have moments of extreme irritability. I would also say this pregnancy is rougher than the last- I have severe groin pain that makes walking difficult but really for the most part I still feel like I have it easy. I only have 4 more weeks until I'm full term- time sure does fly!
crazycatcouple
November 5th, 2014, 02:54 PM
Wow, Lala, only 4 more weeks till full term? That's awesome :-) I feel like with the holidays, the next 2 months are going to fly by and then I'm going to get to January and time will stand still, lol. January and Feb are always two of the slowest months for me anyway, and will anticipating the arrival of this little guy is only going to make it seem more so.
I haven't really been more weepy than my usual self, lol. I still tear up at many movies and TV shows, but I do that even when not pregnant. I have definitely been more irritable at times though :-) Especially when I'm hungry! I now can officially refer to myself as hangry when I don't have enough in my belly, lol. Poor Brett gets the brunt of it usually, but once I'm fed I come to my senses.
How's everyone feeling? Doing anything fun and exciting for the holidays? We're heading to Disney for a long weekend next week. It's actually our 5 year anniversary too. I wanted to get away for that, plus we wanted to give Lyra a Disney trip before her brother comes, and seeing as how we couldn't afford both, we figured why not combine the two, lol. We are lucky in that Disney in only an hour away. My whole life, I've actually never had a "Disney vacation" - only just driven over for the day. This will be nice since we'll be staying on property for a few nights. I'm looking forward to it more than I should be, lol.
And then we have a decent amount of family coming in town for Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday I think because of all the awesome food! I can't wait!! Then of course Christmas is just a few weeks after that, which the entire family is coming in town for, so it should be a very eventful next couple of months for us! How about you?
On an entirely different note, I threw up twice in the last few days - randomly. I thought I was over that stuff! Strange.
lala22
November 5th, 2014, 11:12 PM
How weird about throwing up crazycat- though I have had some random bouts of nausea past the 1st trimester too- this boy definitely does that to me whereas my daughter didn't. And it also may be partially due to diet. I'm normally EXTREMELY healthy and don't eat dairy, many grains or any red meat and very little sugar. THAT has all gone out the window this pregnancy (except red meat).
I have a "baby shower" coming up next weekend that's really just more of a party though I can tell you girls I'm really hoping for some cash to help offset some upcoming expenditures (we've asked for that in place of baby stuff as we already have everything). This upcoming weekend is our anniversary and we're going to Tahoe. Then we have our family photo shoot (plus maternity pics) Crazycat- I'm super jealous of your Disney trip- DYING to take Diella. Then Thanksgiving and by then baby is right around the corner- such a trip- I actually feel like it's all gone by pretty slow up until now and now things are flying. I have no idea what Christmas stuff we'll be attending as I'm due right then and my LO has a ballet rehearsal ON my due date (great) so December gets decided by this baby. Speaking of "baby" we've pretty much decided on a name- Hendrix. We didn't decide last time until we saw her so it's super weird already having one picked out- though we do have a list still just in case he comes out not looking like a Hendrix at all.
Let's hear what everyone else is up to!
What's everyone else up to for the holidays?
crazycatcouple
November 6th, 2014, 09:17 AM
Oh, I LOVE the name Hendrix and am slightly jealous, lol. It was on our top 10 list, but hubby vetoed it because he had a weird thing about using a famous person's name. I love it though :-). Congrats on coming up with one early!
It sounds like you're basically done, lol. The holidays will take you right through to the end! I'm sure it must be hard though with planning and such. Oh, and have fun in Tahoe and at your shower :-). When is your actually anniversary? It sounds close to ours - 11/14. This will be 5 years for us :-). Love this time of year!
PS - I know what you mean about eating healthy being out the door! I feel like such a pig with this little guy, but I have been able to continue working out, so I'm hoping it's helping to offset that a bit, lol. Still, I'm already up 18lbs, so I'm sure I'll be gaining a lot overall!

Our anniversary is 11/10/11 but we're going on 12 years together. I'm super surprised to hear somebody else had that name on their list- but that also makes me kind of happy- lol. We tend to pick very different names so it's nice knowing it's not THAT weird. I haven't been working out nearly like I did the first time around- I ran up until 6 or 7 months and did pretty intense yoga up until the end- this time I'm lucky to get a walk or mini aerobic video in:( I'm up about 26 lbs so far so will probably hit my standard 30-35 lbs which is fine- still feels icky while you're in it though.

Hi ladies. Great to hear all about your stories. Love the name Hendrix. :)
Im 6 months (24 weeks) and last midwife apt gained 9 pounds. I deff think this months apt will be higher.
Being pregnant with a girl for me has been different. Ive been more moody and emotional but on the positive note my body hair has virtually stopped growing! How nice to not have to shave. Lol ;) With the boys it was faster growth. Ive been craving pineapple juice bad. I think its from aloha isle in Disney (pineapple smoothie type drinks)-- check that out if you can.. its amazing!-- I just read it can induce labour so i may have to lay off lol. I think she will be smaller than my last baby.. which i am happy with. People keep saying im small but i feel big! I think they are just being nice. I have not been working out. Thats probably going to come back and bite me later after she's born and i have alot to lose. I've actually had a nasty cold that has not been fun.
November to me seems to drag. I have a strong hate for this month. Its the month my grandpa passed and i always get sick. Also the weather here is terrible.
I am just anxiously awaiting December bc i love Christmas and all that comes with it!
I feel like now the pregnancy is dragging... i just want to meet her! Jealous of all you ladies that get your little ones soon.
Heres a belly pic.

Thanks! We usually keep the name a surprise and though nobody else knows I figured posting it here would help give me some confidence it's a good choice.Robin- you're belly is perfect! Everyone tells me I'm small too and I also feel huge- I think we're probably perfect and 9 lbs at 24 weeks is seriously impressive- keep up the good work!

Hey girls, love reading about names and all the events that everyone has coming up. Hendrix is so cool Lala!
Robin u look fabulous, ur bump is small. I've also been on the smaller side this time (it was the same for both DDs previously), I still find it hard as my body just doesn't ever seem to 'balance' well enough and I get bouts of sciatica. I have a bunch of varicose veins on my legs that appear in pregnancy and I have started wearing compression socks as they are starting to throb an hour after I get up. Sigh! The things our bodies do! I am 30weeks (and about 2 days) and have put on about 11pounds/5kgs. I am trying to have a nutritious intake of food, but sometimes I'm just not hungry. I still eat more than normal.
DH and I were discussing contraception as this is our last, and he is happy to have a vasectomy, so I'm pretty stocked at the thought I don't need to take the pill or get my tubes tied.
We have a fair bit going on in the lead up to January, a weeks holiday (our last as a family of four), two birthdays in December and then Xmas and new year. So lots of baking, cooking and planning to keep me busy. After News years I'll try relax as much as I can as there will only be a few weeks to enjoy the full nights of sleep before this little one starts waking us up every few hours hahaha. I am definitely looking forward to him arriving. The thought of not being pregnant again is actually quite exciting for me 😊

Oncue- I haven't gotten to that point yet- the one where I'm ok with not being pregnant again. I assume that means I'm not done having kids yet because everyone I talk to says you just know when you're done. I cannot believe how little weight you have gained- I feel like such a piggy!!! Haha

Lala, I do think when u know ur done ur done haha! After DD2 we were just never sure, will we have another? won't we? Until we finally tried and got a BFP. We were really happy and just knew this was it (even before finding out gender). I've got to say I am not one of those ladies who has wonderful pregnancies, so I actually don't enjoy that process much, but the end result is what gets me over the line! I hate saying that too, as I don't want to sound ungrateful but my body just struggles, and I don't think I cld do it again.
I think the weight gain will catch up with me these last 9 weeks, haha I expect to explode soon enough!
Hi wantinfo, welcome! I'm sorry I won't be much help as I didn't do weight training but I think a few of the girls did with good results! Hopefully they have a bit more helpful info than I do. Good luck xo

Bout being done. We always said 3, but while pg with ds 2 DH said we have another shot at a girl. I replied what if its a boy too. Then and there he opend the first door to #4. Somehow i always felt i would get 3 sons first. Cause 3th was indeed a boy.
We doubted for a long time about using door4.
And we both knew that was the last one.
Our youngest will be 4 when this baby arrives. The eldest will be 8.
But this is definately our last. It feels done. Though i love the feeling of the baby kicking and will miss that. Ialso feel its enough.

I'm 99% sure we're done after this one. Hubby is 100% and I'm probably more like 90%, but the fact that hubby is 100% done brings me up to that 99% :-) If we had ended up having a girl for #2, I told DH that I couldn't guarantee that I wouldn't want to try for #3, but since we now have the boy, I know I really can't win that argument. Plus, to be honest, as much as I absolutely adore the baby phase, I'm sort of excited to move on to the next stage in our family life.
It's funny because in the beginning of this pregnancy when I thought it was going to be just like the last one, I thought there was no way I would want to do this again. But it actually got so much better and now has actually been enjoyable being pregnant, so I could see doing it again if that's what we wanted. The other thing is working while doing it all. I think if we were in a place where DH's income was sufficient for us and money wasn't so tight, I'd want more kiddos. It would be so awesome to experience being a stay at home mom, even if just for a year or two, but it's not in the cards for us. I hate admitting it, but having more kids really does come down to finances for us.
I know money doesn't buy happiness, but it does make it easier to attain, lol. My mother struggled as a single mom with 4 kids, and although I feel I had a great childhood, there are things I want to be able to do for my kids and family that she wasn't able to do, mostly due to financial constraints. And then I look at DH's family who had 2 incomes and 1 child, and he had all those things. Again, it's not about things per se, but also experiences like family vacations and options for college, etc. Plus just less stress in general :-)
And since I know DH is done, these are things I tell myself to be okay with that, lol. If he wanted more children, I'd probably be saying the exact opposite!

wantinginfo9 - to answer your questions... I was working out fairly regularly with a trainer even before we decided to sway, but ramped it up a bit once we decided to. I'd say I worked out 3 times a week for about an hour doing weight training with my trainer, then I would also do about 3 days a week of cardio - generally a dance class or something active like that. All in all, we were swaying for about 6 months.
I think I noticed an increase in testosterone from the working out, but even more so from all the protein I was eating and the gelatin drinks I did. I was drinking about 3 protein shakes per day along with eating lots of protein rich foods as well, like at least a couple eggs a day and lots of meat. I would also drink 1 gelatin drink per day all month long, but the week of our attempts I would up that to 3 per day. I'm not 100% sure if I was just imagining it or not, but I definitely felt like I had more testosterone when I did all those things consistently.
Good luck!!

Okay, so these hormones are really getting to me! We had to take our cat to the vet yesterday because he was just not himself. Turns out he's diabetic. The vet prescribed us insulin injections and sent us on our way, saying he would be back to his normal self asap. Then he didn't move from one spot, eat, or drink, all day and night. So we took him back in today. They have him there for observation, but his body temp is really low and he's still not wanting to eat or drink. The vet hasn't said anything yet, but I'm worried this may be the end for him :-(
He's always been a pain in the butt cat, but he's my baby, and I love him. Now I can't seem to stop crying. I know he's just a cat, but I'm still not ready for him to be gone. And the worst part is that we're leaving for Disney on Friday, so if he does make it till then, I'm going to have to board him, and that's not cheap. We've already spent over $800 trying to treat him and nothing seems to be working. Plus, I'd hate for him to pass while we're gone, but I also can't think about making a decision before then about the end. Ugh. Hoping the vet has some good news when he calls back this afternoon, but it's not sounding very likely.
Oh, and I guess I should start figuring out how we want to introduce death to our 3 year old, since it seems inevitable. She absolutely adores this cat too!
Hope everyone is having a better week than us!!

Awwee crazy cat.. I can relate. We lost our cat in july after 13 years. He was my furry baby. I am still devistated. It was the hardest thing ive ever had to do (putting him down). Also his sickness came outta nowhere which made it extremely difficult to explain to the kids etc.
We took him into the vet that night for a check up bc he wasn't eating. I honestly thougt he was just getting older. Then admitted him and said he needed fluids etc. That was supposed to be for 24 hrs and was set to cost 1000. We left and one hr later the vet called saying he almost died on the xray table from not breathing and that his red blood cell count was so low. (Supposed to be 30+ he was at 5!). She said he wouldn't even make it through the night and we should come back to put to sleep.
At this point the kids were just tucked into bed. I litterly had to wake them balling ti tell them the cat has to go live with god now in heaven. They started to freak out. They cried "why cant we just keep him forever. "
They didn't get it. It was very sad. In fact it broke my heart.
Since that night things have gotten a bit better. My older sin draws pictures of our cat in heaven and knows hes happy up there. We actually just got another kitten. I didnt think i was ready but turned out to be exactly what i needed.
Bought him thinking he was a boy.. found out the kitten is actually a girl. Shes so beautiful and snuggly. The kids just adore her.
Its deff not easy to go through a pet being sick or dying. My thoughts are with you and your family. Just try and enjoy your vacay. Praying kitty will be ok. :)
Heres a pic of Ellie the new kitten. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/11/5d9be112ab92ccd16b09dd82571cdbd3.jpg

Crazy cat I don't think it's just hormones, it's such a sad story that I'm not surprised ur so upset. Pets are part of families so their illnesses and passing wld be devastating. I'm sorry that you are going through that, hopefully u will here good news.
Robin, ur cat story is so sad too 😔 it's just awful when it hurts little ones. Ellie is so adorable though! I'm glad she makes things easier
We don't have pets at the moment as we live in an apartment so it's too hard, but I remember 3yrs ago when my pet goldfish died after having him for 4 yrs and I was inconsolable for two days. It's weird how they impact ur lives so much x

Thanks ladies. Robin, I'm sorry about your kitty :-( You're new little lady is adorable though!
We ended up having to put him down yesterday afternoon. The doctor called and said his body was shutting down and he likely wouldn't make it through the night :-( It was pretty awful, but I know it was the right things to do. We took Lyra and let her snuggle him one last time and say goodbye. We tried to explain it to her, but I don't think she really got it. She asked about taking him to the vet again today and we had to explain that we wasn't with us anymore, etc. It's sad because she's always loved him so much, but being 3 1/2 I don't think she'll even remember him. And for me it sucked because he was my first pet that was truly mine. I got him and his sister and brother the same month I bought my first house and was truly on my own. He's been with me longer than Lyra and even longer than Brett. I'm going to miss him terribly.

I am so sorry to hear about your cat, Crazycat! I have three right now, and we all love them like crazy! We also have a chocolate lab who is 12 and she is really starting to show her age! I know that we will be facing that day with her soon and the thought drives me crazy. I cannot imagine our lives without her.

Thanks ladies :-) I really love this forum and feel like we have a great support system here, which is awesome! It's funny because when I first went on InGender, we didn't have any kids except the cats, so that's where my screen name came from. Later, when I signed up for this site, I figured I might as well use the same screen name. People always thought I was crazy because I had 3 cats, but then I met a man with 2! How often do you find a man with 2 cats? So strange, lol. So we had the Brady bunch of cats - 5 of them, and hence became the crazy cat couple. Now we are down to 4, but they are all special and dear to us. I think we'll appreciate them even more now that we've lost one.
Anyhoo, onto more happy news... we're heading to Disney on Friday and I'm super excited. It's also our 5 year anniversary. On our 2nd anniversary, we were in Maryland for a friend's wedding. We went to this really fancy restaurant, as it was our first time without Lyra and we are both foodies. We ended up falling in love with a wine and bought a bottle from their store that was connected. I picked up the trick long ago to label nice bottles of wine for a specific special occasion immediately, otherwise no occasion will seem special enough and they'll never get drunk, lol. So, we labelled this particular bottle for our 5 year anniversary. Needless to say, our 5 year anniversary is here and I'm pregnant. I'm planning on taking the bottle with us to Disney have having a small glass or two while we're there. I feel slightly guilty about it, but at the same time, I know a small glass will be fine. My doctor even said I could have a glass a day! And I'm secretly super excited just to taste it...I remember loving it, and I so miss my wine!

Crazycatcouple- don't feel guilty. I had a glass of wine on our anniversary though I have to tell you- I don't enjoy it as much pregnant and I am looking forward to REALLY enjoying my red wine again.
