Post a photo of that cake!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I didn't get one :( BUT the grandmother of the birthday girl got loads so I will see if she has any uploaded to FB and swipe it for here ;)

I brought the leftover cae from my moms birthday to a parent and toddler playgroup this morning. It was DEMOLISHED within seconds lol. I had a small slice!! Oops!!!

So far had that cake with coffee and my usual brunch of toast with Philly and jam, 2 apple brioches instead of chocolate (hoping the fat content is less lol) 4x choc fingers and coffee. Planning a veg noodle stirfry with garlic and ginger for dinner. Hoping to be within the limits. Sometimes I feel like the food I eat is not strictly LE but does it REALLY matter once I stay within my limits, avoiding red meat and fortified foods like cereal??

Cake sounds amaze!! I've been a bit of a yoyo on the diet at the monent too. One day I'll do really well, then, like tonight, will get home late and famished and give in to some take out! Still in the calorie range at least :worry:
Had a lot of of social things going on too, they r the hardest, always end up eating whatever is on offer!

I hear ya!!! I definitely have take out once a week but I generally fast more through the day to keep it as LE doable as possible!! Am kinda dreading our Disney trip cause it will be mostly eating out!!! I dunno HOW I am gonna stay within the limits while holidaying with my SIL who has no idea I'm swaying - and who I could never ever tell cause she just wouldn't get it!

Hi ladies!!! Mind if I join? :D We won't be TTC until November but omg I don't know how I'm going to get through the holidays eating LE! I've been eating vegetarian and LE friendly for about two months now and it's so hard somedays. Not being able to snack is the worst part for me! We're also going on a couple of vacations in August and September so...probably not the best time to be on a diet. ;)

Welcome :) I hear ya on the vacation front, in all honesty I am not sure how well I can stick to LE while away but just planning on ordering mostly the vegetarian options, skipping breakfast, keeping in my calorie limits even if the fat and protein are a little off and not stressing - within reason lol. We hope to have our first attempt in September :)

Today went like this:

Calories 1667 less 70 mins walking (205 calories) = 1462
Fat 35g
Protein 48g

I would have been happier with my day if my cardio had been more vigorous alas my sister asked me walking on a lovely summer's evening so the fresh air was calling me more than the indoor bike! Didn't break a sweat but am tired after it all the same!

Had approx 150g pasta with a tomato based sauce for dinner, topped with some light cheese and two garlic baguette slices. I finished off with a juicy Pink Lady apple (peeled). Little hungry now, always feel that way after pasta though. I generally wouldn't eat it but DH was making it for himself and his smelled lovely (with meat sauce of course!)

Atomic and others say walking is perfect. She told me once that she wishes she never said vigorous cardio bc at the time they didn't know for sure what was swaying just that cardio WAS getting results. But then people's analyzed what "cardio" meant, and how it was defined.

Im off the wagon. Im just famished all the time. I eat when I want to now. Still watching what I eat for the most part but I do snack now. Still lower protein than ever in my life.

I've had a few iffy days, even for my not so strict version of the diet. I'm really, really struggling with the protein numbers. I can do the calories with no problem, I'm always around 1600 now, which is way less than my old boy-mom ways of 2600-3000 but the protein.... I'm not much of a meat eater, but I'm surprised to see how much protein actually is in the things I do eat. Like pancakes. Did not realize until I looked it up just how much protein is in a short stack at ihop. I'd estimate on my normal diet I was consuming close to 80-100g a day, so sticking below 55 is feeling like an impossibility. I feel like everything I pull out of the cabinet for dinner is too high for me to eat it. Tonight was especially hard since I agreed to do Chinese buffet with my mom for lunch, so as my boys and husband are chowing down on KFC mac n cheese, biscuits, and chicken strips- I was picking at a bowl of lettuce covered in vinaigrette. So not me. And because we were out to lunch, my boys didn't nap and therefore- I skipped cardio. Such a downward spiral. Doesn't help that every time I share something I've learned here, my mom (who had 2 girls) and my sister (who has a boy and a girl) feel the need to say "well that can't be true because I......"
I really need to make a better effort tomorrow.

Oooh girls, why is this so hard? I've been eating like crazy the last couple of weeks and have been gaining :( I guess somehow I'm postponing ttc as I'm struggling so much with my youngest, who's behavior is downright terrible atm. We've just moved and things are so hectic and all he does is run away, refuses to listen, hurts his brother and just enjoys to be naughty... I know he is trying to adjust to the new situation and he is still my adorable little monkey. and my oldest is also a nightmare atm, fighting with his brother, teasing him and challenging him and just getting on my nerves! The new house is a huge mess still, but fortunately today the handyman will come and finish everything, so I can start putting our stuff in our new cubboards. With regards to pregnancy, I just don't know how I could fit in a pregnancy with major SPD and morning sickness all day for 9 months into my life with my boys right now. I figured I need to focus on getting to a healthy weight first, which would mean I have to loose a lot of weight. I'll try LE as much as possible, to do a light sway, so I can ease into it. And as soon as everything is sorted out and my boys are listening again, I guess I'll feel when the time is right?

Sounds like u have a lot going on Dana, at least u will be all ready to go and knowledgeable when u do start trying. I go away away next week, I don't think I will be able to maintain the diet, might be able to not snack, cut meals if we r super busy. Going to try and stick to vege options too. Have a feeling we will be doing a lot of eating and drinking on this trip though

Seems like there are a few of us who are struggling at the minute girls. At least we are not alone! And when you think of it the changes we HAVE made and maintained (for the most part) are what really sway. As Atomic says "lower is lower" so based on what we were consuming when conceiving our boys we are way more girl friendly right now. Lets keep positive :)

Hitme fingers crossed this is the last TWW and you can hopefully forget all about LE diets and calories and just eat whatever whenever x

has2 hugs hun! I think that others just DON'T get it. This horrible, awful thing that is GD and I wouldn't wish it upon another living soul. My mom also had two girls and no sons, she has said straight out that she was the one who said no more kids. She said she might have thought differently if she had had two boys and no daughter though but we'll obviously never know. My aunt has three boys and has never gotten past her GD - I don't want that to be me! But at the same time it helps knowing that I am not alone in feeling this way. I might not feel that way if we never have our girl but time will surely tell!

oh Dana that sounds stressful to say the very least! I'm sure that when you feel the time is right for your family you will just know. And fingers and toes crossed for a lovely sticky pink bean when that day does come hun x

I can definitely empathise Bright! I'll be doing the same, as much as I can. Its so discouraging to be going on holidays in the middle of dieting. I normally graze all day and eat whatever I want to I'm thinking that limiting myself and fasting between meals is a massive change so I'm gonna forget about protein and fat content while we are away and just try to limit myself to about 1800 calories a day. I'm currently eating about 1500 ish but an extra 300 calories a day will surely be wine and alcohol so its not a cheat so much as a sway tactic (haha, yeah yeah - who am I trying to convince here!!)

Just had my brunch there. Usual toast, brioche and coffee for me. I'm so boring lol. Am almost out of my Fibre supp so need to pick up another. I try to remember to take it before every meal but usually I just have it before one. Its a rare day I will remember it twice!! Hopefully if I get the Chitosan capsules they will be easier to remember to take!!!

That is my thoughts lower is lower. I was raised vegetarian so do not consume nean but still have always ate a very high fat, cal diet snacking all day fast metabolism. This time I have cut out eggs completely( doing fast diet not 3m. ) no veggie burgers, high protein things. All the carb proteins add up enough but man my body is yearning for some eggs and granola and guacamole mmmmmm. Hoping to O by next week so gotta gotta stick w it. Always eat after 12 don't keep track of everything though cuz I'm too Martha and trying not to be. You can do it ladies:)

My metabolism is the same. Burns cals fast so have never had trouble maintaining a healthy weight and I used to graze my way through every day eating as and when and as often as I wanted. What do you mean by a fast diet hun? I am intrigued! And is it better if I cut out/limit eggs? I only eat the whites on LE anyway but have had egg white omelette a couple of times when I needed to keep fat and protein down but wasn't getting full on other foods.

I saw her mention if you don't have a lot of weight to lose already were vegetarian, ate girl friendly could do a shorter version. Of course 12 weeks+ has the stats. Since I have always been a veg and most others cut out meat and turn to other proteins I decided to cut those out and my usual full fat dairy since they are so nutrient dense. I ate eggs on my last sway and just stayed w/n limits so this time doing it diff. :)

A banana smoothie sounds yum Atsaukina!! I had a tall skinny latte from Starbucks earlier, I need to make an effort to include more low fat dairy both to keep my protein at an acceptable level and for the general health of it. I'm wondering if calcium intake makes a difference to a sway. I ate little to no dairy when ttc my boys, wondering if I should increase my dairy this time purely to change things up. Any ideas? I must ask Atomic!

Switched my Fibre to Chitosan and OMG! I feel SO full despite not having a massive main meal! I had some vegetarian noodles, maybe a 1/3 of a portion of noodles and mostly veg. A half a bag of plain white boiled rice and two garlic toasties. I ate two choc digestive biscuits too just cause I really wanted some chocolate lol. I am taking tonight off from my cardio, I'll be taking Sat night off as well (possibly, unless I can squeeze it in earlier in the day as DH is going to a work thing and my youngest DS always seems to wake up unsettled if I'm doing cardio and theres no one else here. Like he can sense it lol!!)

Today went like this:
Calories - 1282 (no cardio)
Fat 30g
Protein 40g

Happy enough with the day and being honest I probably over-estimated some of that as I'd prefer to err on the side of caution than to be conning myself into thinking I'm doing better than I am lol.
Thinking I will have a little bacon tomorrow. I'm doing a baked ham for the others so I might keep a small slice and make a BLT sambo. It will be my second serving of meat this week, hoping to eat 3 servings a week at most. Thats a massive change for me so hoping its swaying in my favour purely because its a big change!!

Atsaukina1

The banana shake ended up being only 4 g proten and 1 g fat. I got one tall glass and my dad got a sippy cup full too. My fat is super low for the day it's the protein that gets in the way lol

hopper
July 15th, 2015, 05:21 PM
Oops change that cal intake to 1312! Had some skinless apple too and forgot to add it!

Oh no way Atsaukina!! My downfall is fat all the way! I must have been eating a massively high fat diet for the last 10 years!!! I feel I need to keep protein at least around 40g for health but most days it would be less if I don't purposely try. Do we know if fat or protein sways harder or are they about equal? I suppose higher protein is better health and heart wise so we really should stay within the guidelines, just find it very hard to some days to hit 40g and stay under on fat!

ksmom
July 15th, 2015, 06:03 PM
I'm having such a hard time getting enough protein! Most days I don't get more than 35g, but usually around 30g I guess because I'm eating vegetarian. I tell ya, I definitely had a "boy" diet before because I was eating 60+ grams of protein per day easily (lots of meat and dairy) plus double the fat amount I'm eating now and I was only eating 1200--1500 cals per day!

Today I had:
Breakfast---cup of coffee as usual
Lunch---jam sandwich, shared a small bowl of fruit with the boys, a few slices of cucumber, some low-fat potato chips, and a couple pieces of candy
Dinner---a poblano pepper filled with low-fat refried beans, 1 slice of cheese, a cup of white rice, and a small slice of vegan bread I made.
I'm having a beer after the kids go to bed! :big smile:

Totals for the day: 1400 cals, 27g fat, 28g protein

Well done Ksmom! You are doing really well :)

Todau so far I have had 2 coffees with sweetener and splash of milk, two slices of white toast with lightest Philly and strawberry jam, one mini brioche bun and I had half a fruit scone with some full fat butter (I had it buttered for the kids but they didn't want the full scone, hence why I had half - it was delish!) Cals are 616 thus far, fat 18g, protein 19g. And DH wants to get a takeout for dinner. Haven't had anything like takeout in over two weeks so I am having a cheat. I will have a no fat yoghurt and a peeled apple later to cover me on protein and minimal calories but with the takeout I will have no probs fulfilling fat!!! Story of my life lol!!

I'm having cheese pizza and brownies at dinner tonight. It's still within my limits though! I purposely had a measly lunch to allot for it. I know chocolate isn't the best thing on the LE diet but chocolate is my weakness and I hardly eat it these days anyway. I'm having a big iceberg lettuce salad to go with dinner. That will make up for all pizza and dessert, right?

Calories 1503 less 390 cardio = 1113
Fat 57g
Protein 42g

Ok so considering I had just under 300g of deep fried chips and a big, should-be-banned hotdog for my takeout I think I did pretty well. Kept within the upper limits of fat, protein still not as high as it couple be but calories are great. And cardio!
Having a cheat meal once every fortnight or so is definitely the way to go for me!! :D

Hitme, I'm sorry you're having a hard time. :( The diet can be so hard but don't feel so bad, any change in diet helps! Atomic says that even if you reduce your protein and fat from what it was before, it's still helping to sway.

Somehow I managed to not eat the whole pizza at dinner! lol I purposely put half of it away so I wouldn't be tempted then shared the remaining half with DS2. I still had some cals leftover even after the pizza and brownies so I had some hard candies and now I'm having a vodka with seltzer. Totals for the day: 1400 cals, 31g fat, 29g protein.

Well done Ksmom, that was good going!! :) DH was shocked that I cleared my plate, normally I pick at a bit and end up dumping a lot of food cause I graze so much but lately since starting LE I am hungry enough to finish meals. Makes me feel good about my sway seeing such a big change.

I weighed myself again this morning. I have been 125-126 wavering between the two for weeks, possibly months. I took up cardio 2 weeks ago and still no drop in weight. Was happy enough to maintain and drop cals if I need to lose a lb or two closer to attempting. But my weight dropped yesterday morning to 122.6 and its the same again this morning. I had DH weigh himself just to make sure it's not the scales lol. Just wondering do you think I should be eating the higher level of fat to maintain my weight cause I really don't want to drop much more, if any. I am 5'6 so my BMI is about 19.8 now. It was 22.7 for the last decade. Any thoughts or advice much appreciated! :)

I wish I would've weight myself before. Know I have list from how clothes fit. 140 and 5'8. Low as I like to be. Just got blood work back and my vit d is low doc is rxibg high dose for 6 weeks then down to reg otc. Now I'm stuck deciding if I wait since attempt should be in about a week. I know my vit d has been low for all my boys because that when I moved north and started driving vs living in sunny southern state no car and walking everywhere. Plus a giant headache hit me yesterday and is still lingering. I'm feeling pretty funky. I need + opk soon

July 18th, 2015, 01:31 PM
Hopper, I had the same problem of losing too much weight (my BMI is 17.2!) and Atomic said to bump up my cals a bit. So far I'm maintaining my weight. I'd suggest eating an extra 100 cals (empty cals preferable). If that doesn't work then you may need to either increase fat or protein a bit or drop exercise, but I'd ask Atomic before going that route. :)

If you already have low bmi and don't have weight to lose go for it!! Atomic is always saying you don't want to be on it strict for long if you are very skinny. I am on vacation and have actually been doing pretty good. I have still skipped breakfast eating first meal at noon. Did the acohol sway lol and now that I've had my attempt yesterday gotta kiss that goodbye lol. Soooo I was a bit naughty with the diet this weekend. We were out of town visiting family and on one of the two days, I ate about 2,000 cals  but at least 300 of those calories were candy. lol The other day I was bad, I started off the day doing well but then I had a tiny snack (brownie) between lunch and dinner. I blame it on peer pressure! lol I then had a turkey sandwich for dinner which I felt SO guilty for because I don't like eating meat, not just because of the LE diet but for ethical reasons. Unfortunately the restaurant we went to had a very limited selection and it was either a turkey sandwich (which is mostly lettuce) or basically a bowl of lettuce. I didn't want my mom to get suspicious about this diet so I ordered the sandwich and made DH share it with me LOL I then binged on sweets a couple hours later. :hide:

While I didn't do great for those two days on diet, I've at least already been eating LE for 2.5 months AND to top it off, I've now caught the stomach flu DS1 had over the weekend plus AF showed up today. :sigh: Oh well, at least now I'll get back on track considering being sick has me eating nothing but bland LE friendly foods! lol

I'd definitely see a doctor asap. I had a UTI years ago that started making my back hurt to the point where I had trouble walking up the stairs. Turns out the infection was starting to spread to my kidneys. It's nothing to mess around with.

If it was a UTI tho, wouldn't I have pain when urinating? Nothing is bothering me except my right side of my back.

Not always. If it is higher up in your urinary tract (kidney, bladder, etc), you won't. Any ache like that means something isn't right in your body, might be a reaction to some of the supplements or something unrelated, but pain is always a sign of a problem.

I shared this elsewhere too, but here's a typical kind of day for me now:
Lunch at 1: a small piece of baked sole with lemon juice and bread crumbs, a medium baked potato with nonfat sour cream (inside only, no skin), small salad with lettuce, 1 tbsp cheese, oil and croutons, and a white roll. Water to drink.

Dinner at 6: 2 slices of turkey bacon on white toast with 2 leaves of iceberg lettuce and a little real mayo. A cup of tomato soup on the side. A can of Mountain Dew.
No snacks, breakfast or other drinks (other than water). 1403 calories, 45g of protein and 49g fat.
I would typically also have a drink or sweet to get over 1500 calories but that day I was on the go all day.

Today I had 7 McDonald's nuggets, half a medium fry, a 6 oz serving of vegetable lo mein and a can of mt dew for lunch. Dinner was a bowl of Campbell's potato soup made with 1% milk with a piece of turkey bacon crumbled in, 2 pieces of buttered toast, and 4 pieces of cherry Laffy Taffy. That was 1430 calories, 41g protein and 57g fat. I'll probably have a glass of skinny girl moscato tonight, which is another 120 calories.

I couldn't do veg if I tried. It's enough of a stretch for me to switch to fish and chicken from my very red meat lifestyle that got me my boys. Before starting the diet I ate huge meals with meat as the main dish twice a day and drank 3-4 cans of Mountain Dew. I estimate I was eating 2500-2800 calories a day easily. So this is a BIG change for me.

I've noticed this thread has died down a bit but I think we should keep it going since I think it's good motivation and it gives us meal ideas.

Today so far I've only had lunch. It was white rice spaghetti w/ sautéed (in water) white mushrooms and a sauce of balsamic vinegar, brown mustard, and a splash of white wine. It was DELISH. I also had a homemade spice cookie, half a banana, and half a peeled apple (shared the other half with the boys). For dinner we're having black bean burgers and homemade oven fries. Yum!

Just had lunch. It was a cucumber sandwich ( a few slices of cucumber peeled and diced up with some light laughing cow swiss cheese spread between two slices of bread), a serving of whole wheat spaghetti, a splash of tomato pasta sauce, a sprinkle of 2% cheddar cheese, a Morningstar brand vegetarian "chicken" patty, and a diet coke. 92 g carbs, 14 g fat, 32 g protein, 645 cal. Went over a bit on sodium. :-/

Today was a remarkably good day for me after starting out looking like it would be awful--

My mom came and took the boys and I out to lunch, and my oldest picked Pizza Hut... Oh no.
But my diet held! I had:
Lunch- 2 slices of thin crust chicken supreme pizza with light sauce and no mushrooms. A single breadstick. 3/4 cup chicken Alfredo pasta. Diet dr pepper to drink.

Dinner- BLT (2 slices low sodium turkey bacon, 1 tbsp mayo, lots of lettuce between two pieces of white toast). And a half cup of buttered white rice with a little salt. I had a Mountain Dew to drink. Then I had a chocolate chip cookie. I was going to eat half but my youngest refused the other half, lol.
Going to go make a crystal light with vodka here in a bit.

Totals: 1610 calories, 48g protein, 58g fat.

Hey ladies, back after a break from the site. I was super focused on what I was eating so had a bit of a cheat and stayed away. I kept a small food diary but didn't enter into MFP cause I was being more laid back. I entered most of the info into MFP yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to be within the upper limits of the LE!! And that was while I thought I was cheating!! :)

So yesterday I had about 70g of white penne pasta with a little bit of pasta bake tomato based sauce on it, two small slices of whole wheat bread with full fat butter (no low fat stuff left and not buying more as we fly out to Florida for over 2 weeks this weekend) I had a coffee and 4 plain digestive wheat biscuits afterwards. I normally wouldn't eat them but I needed something sweet with my coffee as a treat and they were all that I could find in my fairly bare cupboards lol.
Dinner was actually a cheat! My friend turned up at my door with her kids and takeaway hot chips! I had about 150g of chips and a slice of homemade pizza with low fat cheese, onions, peppers and a teeny tiny bit of sausage meat. Had a diet coke to drink.
Totals for the day: cals 1732, fat 65g, protein 36g
High on fat but considering the hot chips I don't think it's bad overall at all.

My usual day goes like this:
BRUNCH - after a 15+ hour fast. Coffee with 2 slices white toast, low fat cream cheese and sugar free jam. Some kind of breakfast pastry once it doesn't have more than 9-10g fat content total!
DINNER - I eat the same dinners over and over again.
Homemade Chinese 3 in 1 - 100g white rice, 100g low fat oven bake fries and store bought sachet of curry sauce. Cals 570. Fat 10.8g. Protein 10.4g. (I might add some veg into the sauce if I know I have the extra leeway)
Turkey bacon, lettuce and tomato on ciabatta with extra light mayo and 150g baked fries. 580 cals. Fat 17.4g. Protein 23.5g.
100g pasta, Dolmio pouch sauce 150g, some light cheese on top and 2 garlic bread toasties. Cals 697. Fat 15.4g. Protein 23.9g.
Other days I will have some steamed salad potatoes without their skins, cauliflower and broccoli and a small serving of chicken, no bigger than a cup full. I basically alternate between those dinners unless we eat out. If we eat out I usually order shrimp and loads of veggies.

I found another really filling good lunch option today--
15 baked shrimp poppers, 10 sweet potato fries(also baked), a slice of white toast with a little margarine and strawberry jam, and a can of Mountain Dew. Totals: 520 calories, 11g protein and 13g fat.

I had a "no tracking, eat whatever I want" weekend the past two days, as I had a wedding Saturday and my inlaws came to visit yesterday and insisted on taking us out for brunch and dinner. Just a ballpark estimate though, I probably had 90-100g of protein, 150+g fat and 2500-2800 calories each day. It was so nice to be truly full for a day or two though, haha.

Well, pop tarts are certainly not lunch! Some of my favorites are

Blt made with turkey bacon and some tortilla chips and 5 layer dip
Cream of potato soup and toast with jam
Veggie stir fry with white rice
Salad with vinaigrette and a baked potato with butter and low fat sour cream
Crepes with fresh strawberries and shredded potatoes
Cheese tortellini with olive oil and Parmesan cheese
Vegetable soup with fruit salad
5-6 fish sticks and boxed mac n cheese
Grilled cheese and tomato basil soup
Chicken egg rolls with vegetable lo mein

All under 600 calories and 15 protein.

I hope you guys don't mind me joining in. I've gotta lose about 20 kg so I need all the accountability I can get lol! Yesterday I had a GF multigrain sandwich with mustard, WW cottage cheese and free salad. It left me with enough calories to splurge on 2 pieces of vegetarian pizza and some Allens snake lollies at a Christmas break up party. I really enjoyed it! Eating food that is normally forbidden to me. Atomic was right - eating LE can be fun :-)

I'm the same! I didn't realise how much I liked meat until I started counting my macros. Now that I've gone semi-vego, i hear the word "BBQ" and get all weak in the knees lol! It is such a shift in thinking where I normally base my meals around the meat and work back from there.

I have been snacking less and most days my calories are below 1600 I still just don't feel I'm doing it right I don't have breakfast or anything to eat until at least 10am . I haven't lost any weight and I struggle to find time to exercise Is losing weight really important ? And what else could I do to have a better sway pls ? C

I'm usually ok during AF. I'm really enjoying the vegetarian thing too. It feels so decadent having starch after it being so taboo for me for so long. I keep saying, "I'll go hard core when I've got 12 weeks to go!" Lol been good with my cardio. Enjoying not doing weights like I used to. I guess I get to think less about the exercise that way 😀 x

I make some of these and keep them in individual bags for me with a piece of toast

Also Google low fat vegetarian recipes, find the ones you like, pop them into the recipe in my fitness pal and it breaks down the calories for you. I like:

LF vegetarian enchiladas
LF vegetable stack
Iceberg lettuce salad with 1-2 tbsp tinned lentils or chickpeas and/or cottage cheese
Raspberry and coconut water smoothie. I add 1 tsp cinnamon to balance blood sugar and helps me drop kgs. If my protein numbers are low I add 1 tbsp of protein powder.
Toasted tortilla sand which with mushrooms cream cheese
Mushroom stroganoff
Gnocchi with homemade tomato sauce (keeps calls lower) you don't even need to cook the tomatoes. Just dice them with green onions, 1 clove of garlic (if you a re including it) fresh basil, squeeze of lemon juice and the gnocchi will warm it up like sauce. I eat 12 gnocchi for a serve and have iceberg salad on the side. Please share your ideas when you get some......I need fresh inspiration

Ive had the odd soft boiled egg with slices of toast dipped in. Dinner is mainly rice with broccoli little spinage covered in parmesan cheese or vegetable curry (courgettes peppers and onions) with rice sometimes little chicken i normally have strawberrys, blueberrys, rasberries and oranges for afters. I have had veggie burgers with low sodium rolls, mushroom and roasted pepper in it to then do butter nut squash chips on the side instead of having potato chips. I drink diet coke, coffee and evian water. Im not sure if this is all the right foods for a girl sway foods but i do stay within ranges and im trying to be healthier and loose weight. I skip breakfast no snacking only eat lunch and dinner. Would love to hear from others with there meal plans x

Butternut squash chips sound like a good idea! Your diet sounds great,my problem is that after I've sorted out the kids food and dinners, I then struggle to want to make myself something separate. I think I will mainly be having lots of carbs, no meat, strawberries as my fruit, yoghurt, diet coke and corn on the cob to add empty calories.

With my first two boys I didn't start my cycles again till 1-2 months after completely stopping breastfeeding. Also, with DS3 I went on LE when he'd dropped down to one feed before bed. When he weaned I expected the same but it didn't. I assumed the diet was scaring my body so after waiting three months I came of the diet and boom, that cycle AF arrived. So just thought it might be useful to know.

First two LE days have been

No breakfast just black coffee
Lunches were homemade sweet potato and black bean soup, or jacket potato with a little cheese and loads of salad
Snacks (I get hungry while the boys eat tea) were low fat instant noodles or ******ed vegetables (I cook extra from them dinner)
Dinners were homemade three bean chili and rice with salad, or homemade vegetable curry with rice, and wine!

I have been buying the m and s soups too, they're on offer at the mo. Warbutons bagel thins are my go to breakfast (well as it's 12 I suppose it's lunch!) only 99 cals and I don't feel as deprived as I do with their mini bagels! (Same Cal but it's psychological I'm sure!)

Meals sound good! I am a nutritionist and also teach food classes so it's hard not to eat whatever I've been doing that day!
Cutting out the grazing/snacking is hardest for me too I think I always eat ds1's leftovers.
Btw- do any of you take fibre? I didn't think I needed to but having caught up on the 'fibre sways pink' (not sure where I missed this) I'm going to buy some today- but not sure which people use in U.K.

I use Chitosan from Holland and Barrett for my fibre supplement.

Great going ladies!

We had lunch at friends today so I've no idea of calories BUT fortunately they're vegetarian so I had an amazing roasted veg thing with jacket potatoes and salad. So good I asked for the recipe.

Ingredients:
Sweet potatoes
Red cabbage
Carrots
Leeks
Onions
Peppers
Green beans
Kale
Kidney beans
Black eyed peas
Balsamic vinegar

Roughly chop veg. Toss sweet potato, carrots and red cabbage in oil spray and bake in oven for twenty minutes. Then add the rest of the veg and beans, a glug of balsamic vinegar and mix thoroughly. Keep roasting (occasionally turning) till cooked.

It was seriously AWESOME.

Not fancying any alcohol tonight I find it difficult to add any in to be honest now that Christmas has passed!

I've started the day with a Double Decker (a chocolate candy bar) in the interest of eating differently to when I conceived my boys! I never ate chocolate/candy/sweets, other than a square or two of dark dark chocolate, so why not eh? I'd have always started the day with eggs and Rye/Spelt toast - so nutritious. I'm such a savoury girl that it tastes ludicrously sweet! :-)

Oh and thanks for the bagel thins idea. I've bought them for DS3 before as they're a much better size for his appetite. I'd not thought of the psychological impact for me in having a whole one at less cals. Good plan!

Not sure if I've already added this recipe idea, apologies if I'm duplicating, but it feels like a treat for me.

Veggie enchiladas
Ingredients:
Pack of Weight Watchers wraps or equivalent
Various vegetables (I use onions, garlic, peppers, courgettes and mushrooms)
Tin of chopped tomatoes
Spices (I used chili, cumin, oregano and paprika)
Grated cheese

Method:
Preheat oven. Fry finely diced onions and garlic gently in oil spray, adding a splash of water of needed, till softened. Add tin of tomatoes and spices and simmer until all combined. Leave to cool. Now chop your veg into chunks - onions, peppers etc and fry in oil spray and the spices until cooked but still with a bite to them. Take an oven dish and spray with oil spray. Put a spoon of the enchilada sauce in and spread over the bottom. Then take a wrap, put a spoonful of the cooked veg in the middle, a spoonful of the sauce and a little grated cheese. Wrap into a sausage shape and lay in your oven dish with the join at the bottom. Repeat with all wraps. Finally cover the whole lot with the rest of your sauce (any uncovered corners of wrap will get dry) and as much grated cheese as you think you can have within your totals! Bake till golden.

This is my new favourite dish. Low fat cheese won't melt as well as full fat so I tend to use less full fat cheese rather than using low fat cheese, and add a few dollops of mozzarella which isn't too fatty.

Oh and I have made it with a few beans in the veg mixture if I've planned appropriately for the extra protein.

This sounds lovely I've had old El Paso enchilada kits in the past when not on LE. These sound great! I had tonsillitis confirmed today so soft foods will help! Might get dh to whip some up.

Hi, joining in to record what Im eating and hopefully stay on track!
I had 1 teaspoon of decaf coffee, a teaspoon of options orange hot choc with a Splash of milk at 12, followed by 2 Tesco vegie grills, a side salad and about 4 sweet potato wedges. Then a muller light mango yoghurt with 2 strawberries chopped up. Did an hour at the gym and then made a home made soup but it was rubbish so I only ate half and chucked the rest, had a yoghurt and then a small bag of skinny popcorn. Quite under cals today but over indulged over Xmas so need a head start to weight loss. Planning on having 1 glass of wine later, becoming a bit of a habit having wine each night and then 2 glasses turn into 3 and a late night so trying to stick to just 1 glass.
I think tomorrow I plan to eat a ham salad for lunch, yoghurt and fruit. Then tea might have to be 2 vegie grills and baked beans with a tiny bits of cheese, side salad and then yoghurt and fruit. Cant exercise tomoz.
Hope you all have a good week :-)

Well done chocolate that looks like a good day !
Yes I've planned Tommorows meals already to help me stay on track - my attempt is only 10 days away so my hubby starts his abstaining this Wednesday it's all getting a bit real!

I can totally relate to having more and more wine - I actually really enjoy enjoy drinking wine (bit of a wino!) so sometimes find I'm the same I'm like whoops is that the bottle gone already?!

Back on one glass a night from tommorow couldn't drink wine today :-/

Ladies, since this is getting rather long, let's move it over to this new thread for 2017!!! It makes the forums run better if we keep our threads to 50 pages or less.

Ladies, I cannot keep up on the support threads. Please always start a new thread that I will see so I can reply to your questions. I don't like leaving questions unanswered!

LE Diet is NOT NO fat, no protein, no sugar, etc. It is not a starvation diet. It is simply the lower range of normal for a healthy pre-pregnancy diet. 1500-1800 cals a day, 40-50 g protein, 30-60 g fat. There are no forbidden foods, and low carb vegetables (like salads) are actually free and unlimited, have as much as you want, no need to count or track it. For higher carb veg (like potatoes) and fruit, you count only calories, not protein or fat. So you actually can eat quite a lot of food on LE Diet, it's completely in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organization about what a healthy pre-pregnancy diet for women of childbearing age looks like.

Hi Ladies
Can anyone give me some breakfast ideas for the LE diet? I'm doing delayed BF. My pre-diet staples were oatmeal and cereal, and now I'm really running out of ideas. I eat fruit+green smoothies some days or egg whites w toast. But I get bored pretty quickly.
I do miss my cereal + milk + nuts & seeds routine. Is there an alternative to that kind of breakfast on the LE diet? Or any other ideas are also welcome.
Thanks in advance and pink dust!

You can have nuts/seeds on LE Diet, in the overall totals for the day.

The occasional bowl of oatmeal will not hurt anything. You should still probably stay away from fortified breakfast cereal, but have you ever made your own granola? It's pretty easy, and again, oats on occasion won't hurt anything. I would use vegetable oil instead of coconut oil or butter, and then go light on the nuts, heavy on the oats and dried fruit.
