View Full Version : Attempt after failed sway... Should I bother?

Hi,

I swayed for my last child which turned out to be an opposite (a boy). Inwas pretty depressed throughout the pregnancy and struggled to feel excited about it. Needless to say this kid has captured my heart. He is a mummies boy and is just an angel. But a friend of mine just anniunced the birth of her daughter and its reignited the fire.

I'm just not sure if I can sway again. It really took its toll on me emotionally last time.

At the moment I dont eat breakfast, I avoid dairy, eat carbs quite a bit, and am on an anti-anxiety medication. What other low key things could I try for a relaxed sway? I became obsessive last time and I think that worked against me.

Thanks for reading ladies xoxox

Those little boys do have a way of being heart stealers don't they :)
Maybe fiber, alcohol, and BD every 4 days. I think that's what I'd do if I ever swayed again.
Good luck xx

Yes, definitely add in some of the "easy" sway factors like caffeine, alcohol, fiber (the gummy ones are super easy to pop before meals), and BD every 4 days. FX for you!

With fiber, how long should you be on it before ttc?

Hi,

I also had an opposite (a boy) earlier this year, after a 12 week sway. Can completely relate to everything you went through...I also have a little heartbreaker :)

I'm going to start TTC again, in March, and have just begun the diet. I'm just wondering about the alcohol? I didn't factor that in last time...how are people factoring it in? And what type of alcohol are they drinking?

Thanks...

You can start at any time! Work up to the recommended amount on the package to avoid gas. Most take it with fatty/nutritious meals. Can take it up to three times a day. Make sure to drink LOTS of water!

I always took it twice a day- at lunch and dinner. I liked Benefiber since it was tasteless and dissolved completely in water. Some like the fiber gummies- make sure these don't have any other vitamins with them.

FX and GL to you!

I drank rum every night with dinner. Started off with about 1 shot and worked up to around 2 or 3. I did this for about 3 months before TTC and then took a few months for BFP so ended up being about 7 months b4 BFP.

Thanks, covered in blue. Was there any particular reason you choose rum? Have never drank it before...just wondering if it is more pink-friendly, than other drinks....

I feel adding as many sway factors as suits you, if you are going to TTC anyway, takes away the "what ifs" that you could torture yourself with if you TTC without trying to sway. If that makes sense?
I have no regrets whatsoever this time, despite getting a little opposite, because even if I run over my sway a hundred times in search of what I could have/should have done there is nothing I could change. It makes acceptance so much easier IMO.

Here is my "coming back from a failed sway" essay here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/18466-when-sways-attack.html

Swaying is one of those things where you can do the exact same thing twice and get a different result. A sway opposite doesn't mean that swaying can't or won't ever work for you, and it doesn't mean (as I think you have figured out already :agree:) that you have to go super strict and do everything under the sun to sway - that doesn't work.

I would just do the doable - we have had some success with people doing a PCOS type diet after a failed sway (upping carbs may not be best for you if PCO tendencies had something to do with why you got an opposite the last time) and you can find those alternate diets here. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html

If you can't go that all out and would prefer to just keep it out of your mind, I'd just focus on being vegetarian. You don't need to totally avoid dairy and in fact if you have PCO tendencies you may want to include some full fat dairy and avoid skim, it may really raise your blood sugar.

The things that are getting the best results are LE Diet longer than 12 weeks, with fiber, coffee, and alcohol, exercise (and if you do have PCO tendencies even mod. exercise can help), having one attempt in the fertile window (most do this on positive OPK), and Clomid if you can get some. Everything else has been disappointing and doesn't seem to be adding anything to our success levels. Stick with what works, let go of the stuff htat doesn't.

As far in advance of sway as possible provided that you aren't breastfeeding and aren't wasting away to nothing.

If you're nursing, I'd hold off on that till baby is at least 6-9 months old and also add in a vitamin for him containing Vit. D and DHA

This works differently for pink swayers though TB because for them, trying to add in everything but the kitchen sink can sometimes (a lot of times) add to the "martha" obsessiveness that may sway blue. I actually go the other way for the pink swayers - simple is getting better results by far than the people who try to do everything just perfect and keep in every tactic they have ever heard of.

All alcohol is getting good results. Use what you like. I had light beer and got my girl.

1-2 drinks a day, count cals but not pro or fat (unless of course you're mixing it with milk or something, then you'd count what's in the milk too)

We have had success with all kinds of alcohol. Wine, beer, spirits

I think back when I choose it spirits were doing really well in the stats but I think all alcohol is doing pretty well now (though I've not checked recently). I think whatever you enjoy is probably best. Got to have something to make this swaying thing more enjoyable :)

:agree: originally we were considering the possibility that beer and wine might have too many nutrients and thus a lot of people were using spirits as an alternative, but that has not seemed to make any difference. Please ladies, have what YOU enjoy. (personally I'd rather ahve a boy than have to drink wine YUK :p)

if one has never drank alcohol....is there a supplement form? :kidding but would be kewl:

I know nothing about alcohol....where to start...

Also so high caffeine for pink,
And moderate to no caffeine is neutral?

My opinion on coffee is that it's effect on blood sugar is what sways, not the caffeine. Just my opinion. When I drank coffee it would drop my blood sugar very low very fast even after eating. But that could also be just the way my body reacted to it. As for alcohol I love Long Island iced teas and other sweet mixed drinks. Rose wines are good too... they seem sweeter. I actually ate alcoholic candies on occasion too :)

Haha I know, right?? A whole new world for some of us.

If you are not a drinker, I would start SLOW LOL with white wine, lager beer (not ale, IPA, porter, stout, these are very strong tasting beers and most would not care for them at first), hard cider, or a small amount of an unflavored spirit like rum or vodka mixed in with juice or soda. Be careful though for those who are on medication or herbs - double check first to be sure there is no interaction.

We are finding that no/mod. caff is neutral, more than 3 a day, especially coffee, to be swaying pink for us.

:agree: I do think it is the coffee that's working best and tea may even be a little bit blue friendly. I also agree that I suspect the way both alcohol and coffee are working is that they're doing something beneficial to blood sugar. I wish we had more info to go off of.
