I may have jumped on here too early. Today's test is lighter than yesterday's. I am trying not to freak out or think the worst...but I'm pretty sure they should be getting darker?

Thankyou!! :D Robin2014 don't worry about the lightness of the line, aslong as it has colour I think you will be ok. I have bought 3 different brands, one shows a faint line, one shows a line hardly at all, and the other is easily visible. And funnily enough the most sensitive one is the lightest!

They can vary based off the brand and the strength of your urine. My night time test the first day was darker than my FMU the next day. Take a deep breath and hold onto hope.

Robin - Don't stress, as the other ladies have said it varies from brand to brand.
Also on how much water you drank, we're hydrated differently every morning !

Praying - Congrats you !

Thank you guys! I am trying not to stress. Unfortunately though these were all frer tests. Crazy enough 10dpo evening looked darker than this mornings line (12dpo). I might test again tonight with frer... but I'm spending so much money on these silly tests! Ugh
Dr Apt is set for next week for blood work etc.. but there is no way I can wait that long and not worry if I didn't re test and get a stronger line.

I had a genetic counseling appointment today and took all my blood tests including the Counsyl test. Hopefully within two weeks I'll be able to post my sway and of course hopefully baby is totally healthy. :)

Love your picture All Blue!

Good luck at your scan today, Sparkles!!

Just curious ladies (boy moms), did y'all lose weight or gain in the 1st tri with your sons? I remember losing weight with my son (I had some weight to lose), and gaining with my girls (I also had weight to gain). Just curious! Also, did you break out a little and did your boobs get bigger or smaller in the first tri, and did you feel like you were starving to death?... I am so tired of googling. I know all pregnancies are different and symptoms don't matter... just appease me, I may never get a scan I can obsess over! haha
I gain weight no spots, huge boobs, and def staving to death!

Oh Girllll, thats a good sign, means your HCG has increased today !
Ah damn I read it wrong, thought you meant it increased from morning to night.

It still doesn't mean you are out !
Can you hold off testing for 48 hours?
Then see what the colour is like ?

Welcome PrayingforPrincess! Congrats on your BFP. What an exciting time.

Robin, don’t spend too much money. Use cheapies you if you have to, but trust your body too. Each day you go without spotting or signs of AF should be your “positive” that things are still going in the right direction. I like Sparkles suggestion of waiting 48 hours but I know that is hard to do.

Amelia- that is awesome that you had your testing today. I haven’t heard of the Counsyl Test. Is that the same as all the other NIPT tests that tell you chromosome issues and the gender based off the DNA in the mother’s blood?

I am getting nervous to know that ladies will start to find out genders soon if they are doing early testing. I think doc will send me for mine last week of November. So I might know by early December. It both excites me and terrifies me as I have seen so many ladies have their hearts broken by finding out they are not getting their desired gender. I don’t think I am at all prepared for that heart break as I keep telling myself it is for sure a girl and I won’t even consider that it could be a boy. I have no reason to think that it is a girl, but it is the only hope I have on these long days of feeling sick non stop or throwing up. I just want every single lady to get the gender they want and I hurt for those that don’t.

I had my ultrasound yesterday and saw Bub wriggling around! Yay!! :) Nice strong heartbeat 166bpm. What a relief!! It's measuring one day ahead so bumping me up to June 13, but I went 40 +6 last time so I wouldn't be surprised if it's born on my husbands birthday lol. Now just waiting to start feeling little flutters and for this horrible ms to subside!! We told the boys last night that they'll have another sibling next year and they all said they wanted a sister I'm so hoping that their (our) wish finally comes true

Yes, the Counsyl Informed Pregnancy Screen is the same kind of test as the Panorama, Harmony, Maternit21, and other cell-free/NIPT tests.

GirlieC, I am also so worried to find out gender, which I will start December/end of November. I tell myself I will be allright if it's another boy. In fact some days I fancy about having four handsome sons to take care of me when I get old... this could be cool.
I know this will be my last baby so I have promised myself to see this as a huge gift sent from heaven no matter gender. Well, this time is hard. I think I can relax more as soon as I know it's a he or a she.
Mummy4boys, congrats with your healthy and fast growing bean. How exiting that you told the family. Did you also tell friends? It must be nice to be able to share this great gift with your loved ones. I think I will first tell them when I am 11 weeks. I go and hide my growing stomac and only my mother has noticed if I have put on weight (she notices everything). She thought I was way to underweight before so she is happy. I gained 7 kilos in 5 weeks! Only DH and two good friends know I am preggo.
When will you find out gender?

Dreamsister : I know how you feel about the gender.
I am trying to tell myself it doesn't matter, and that anything is a blessing, which of course it is...but I still think I will be disappointed.

Mummyof4boys : Congratulations on being able to tell people now, you've passed a massive milestone, must be such a relief.

Dreamsister : I am gaining now everyday (surely not normal), so I am hiding my little bloat with a big baggy jumper. We're lucky that it's winter hahahah. Summer might be harder to get away with.

Oh and I'm 9 weeks today, so baby is the size of a southern pecan...how cute :D

Sound like lots of us will be finding out around the same time early December! I'm eager to find out, but sort of dreading it too. I think I'll be okay either way, I hope I'm reading myself right. I'm afraid I'll be more upset than I think if my sway doesn't work. I want to know though so I can be prepared for the family we're going to have.

I will be 10wks tomorrow, it's crazy that if it's a boy testosterone started developing this past week!

I am with you ladies, I want to find out but it causes me so much anxiety! I really did give my sway my all, I am nervous about a few factors- nursing, kiddos close in age, hubbies habits... Although, if it's another baby girl, she is obviously meant for our family and we given it 4 attempts {well 2 real sways}!

I have developed a slight facial rash, it's itchy... and never happened before... ugh.

Oooo that's promising !
The specialist at the hospital suggested that my hives could be because I'm carrying a boy (another thing that makes me feel certain my sway failed).
She said, it's a bit early, but babies develop at different rates.
Turns out 70% of Mums who get rashes and hives are having boys, so you could be in for a winner !

My 4 year old hugged me and rubbed my belly lol it was very cute! And my 2 year old points to my belly and says baby, baby, baby :) My mum has known since the start and I told the MIL a couple weeks ago because she caught me having a vomit while on the phone :/ My little brother knows too but no other friends or relatives know yet. I wanted to wait til second trimester at least but my belly now sticks out further than my boobs so it's pretty obvious haha! Oh and my husband had to tell his boss because he needed to take time off work to mind the littlies while I had the ultrasound..I'm just hoping he or his family doesn't blurt it out on Facebook and ruin our announcement..

I'll be doing an Intelligender pee test tomorrow lol hopefully it'll give me an accurate result. It was correct in the past. Won't find out for sure til the ultrasound in January though

Also, DH and I did have a heart to heart last night... he was being a bear because the puppy has kept him up (his fault, haha). Anyways, he asked me how I would react to another girl. I explained to him that if bean is another girl I would love her of course, but I will be mourning our son... and that I would need his support, he said he didn't really know how to approach me. (MEN!) I told him, he probably wouldn't have to 'approach me' it would be natural. He seemed to understand, but has his doubts about swaying. He is generally understanding but it's hard for him because he believes it's up to God... which I understand. Gender Disappointment is so hard to explain and deal with!
Going through same... due in july 21 already have daughter of 16 months .hoping for boy.. but will be happy with any.. no symptoms yet its my 5th week.

Hi all! Just catching up on the thread. I am 8+2 now and nausea is really bad. Been throwing up a few times a day and struggling at work (I'm a teacher). Any remedies that have worked from anyone?! I'm drinking a lot of orange juice as this seems to help (sometimes), but worried I'll be huge soon from all the snacking and sugary drinks! Think I'm going for a scan on Monday to check on growth so I'm hoping it's caught up a bit.

Oh it sounds hard. I also have nausea, but not so much as I vomit. Did you also do that with your previous pregnancies? I heard that ginger could help. Cold full fat milk and cereal helps me. It is a struggle to get through the day. I also work full time.

Honey, I feel your pain. Keeping it together at work is challenging. For me I have to eat every two hours like clock work. If I go longer then it gets bad and there is no coming back.

DH makes me an English muffin each morning so I eat that with some pink lemonade before I even step out of bed. Then a banana two hours later. I hate how often I eat and that so much is unhealthy because I have to eat what I think will stay down instead of what is healthy. Only plus is portions are very small. No weight gain yet. Oh pickles are soothing usually too but I love pickles.

Hoping things get better as we all get closer to 2nd trimester.

I was of course googling, and saw this too. That due to testosterone developing around 9-10wks could cause rashes... So, fingers crossed. It's still there today, slightly raised areas on my face and still itchy. I am not sure if I should be concerned? It's probably not PUPPS, because that usually started on your legs and belly?
Praying for your sway Sparkles!! You never know! DD3 I could have sworn was a boy based off of symptoms!
Other symptoms, still fatigued- a foggy feeling and getting big :).

I'm going to try and see if they can fit me in for an ultrasound today or tomorrow since we are supposed to travel next week for Thanksgiving. Infoforthree - the first loss in our thread. I can't imagine how it feels. I'm wishing the best for you.

My coworker whose wife has the same due date got to take the Panorama test last week in the 9th week and yesterday they found out that they are having a healthy baby boy! I am so jealous that they already know the gender, but at the same time I'm getting more anxious about actually finding out. My coworker ideally wants one of each gender but he thinks it's nice that his first child is a boy.

Hey, once we all start finding out, we can start thinking about baby names. :)

So sorry Mummy. I have heard some pretty bad stories about those at home predictor kits and how unreliable they are. Like sparkles says, there are several factor that can give you a false boy results. Even their website says that. It says you can't use it if you have PCOS or are taking progesterone because you will probably get a false boy result.

The company will not even give an accuracy rating on their product. All they say it is not 100% accurate. I have read online that it can be anywhere from 60-90% accurate but that is a huge spread. One lady even did an experiment and drank things to change her Ph and got boy before cranberry juice and got girl after drinking cranberry juice. (who knows if that is true- it is the internet after all).

When will you be able to get an ultrasound to see?

Honey, it is funny how we hate the nausea but worry if it goes away. I had one really good day last week but then sick again the next day. Usually I don't go a whole day without throwing up once but I can go stretches of 6-8 hours feeling not terrible if I am eating correct. I am getting used to the feelings now and I can know the difference between "need to eat nausea" , "just don't feel good nausea" and "oh crap I am going to throw up nausea".

GirlieCat ha I get you! I am getting 'I've eaten' nausea quite often which confuses me! And the weird light headed sicky feeling if you go more than 2-3 hours without eating. I've only actually thrown up 4x though. With my first, I was sick maybe 10x a day for seven months, it was horrendous. Then with number 2, nothing. Weird, huh?

Mummy - only a couple of weeks until you can get a good nub shot though.
There are some really good guessers on this site, I see them being right more than wrong.
Maybe get the picture and upload on the guessing thread - you're not out yet !

I've always declined the nuchal scans so I'm just going to have to wait til the morphology scan at 18 weeks. I watched several gender reveals on YouTube that showed it was incorrect so there's still hope I guess..

I had a Harmony blood test taken and a abdominal scan and turns out I am 10 weeks pregnant - so one week ahead of what I thought! The doctor said my placenta was on my right side. Does this according to Ramzi theory means that It's a boy?

Hope it's wrong, keep seeing people say its 90% accurate though

I sort of believe in ramzi, 2 of my girls were on the left side (not sure about DS or DD1). However, I have read, after multiple pregnancies ramzi can be tricky because the baby implants in a new area each time. So fingers crossed!!

So my rash is finally starting to fade from my face. I needed to use my kids' aveeno eczema crème and that has really helped! But I still am randomly itchy, too, with weird rashes that are popping up then disappearing. So, weird! Other than that, I am still pretty fatigued and getting to large!! I don't know how much longer I am going to be able to hide it at work, ugh. At least for now, I can blame it on Thanksgiving!
The things I am eating is so similar to DD3- btw, I have started back on my non swaying diet a bit and it's so weird!! My intuition is still leaning blue, but I keep saying... nope it's probably a girl. haha.

So I had my meet at the consultants today, and they did a scan which I didn't expect.
Baby was bouncing around, looks like a little gummy bear.

Had a moment of panic, she said "We are looking for the heartbeat"
And didn't say anything for ages, but looked concerned.
Then sais "This is measuring small for 16 weeks"
I was like...No I'm 9-10 weeks ! The midwife had written it on my notes wrong gahhh.

Bre, on my picture you can see the lower right...that's the placenta, so boy according to Ramzi !

Omg, I hate when they say they can't find the HB! How crazy they thought you were 16wks!!

Is your scan vaginal or abdominal?- I am assuming abdominal because they thought you were 16wks! Is this how your other scans looked, were they trans or abdominal? Ramzi is no good after 8 wks, but if your other scans looked this and transvaginal, then I guess girl!

Even if by ramzi that's a boy, your scan screams girl to me!! Looks just like DD1!

Hi Bre

Yes you're right it was abdominal.
I had one at 6 weeks that was transvaginally, and it was too early to see the placenta, but she said it has 'implanted' on the right side.
Then a tummy one at 8 weeks, and the small formings of placenta was again on the right side.

Awww I hope it is a girl, but honestly with my previous loses, and the heartbreaking news from two of our ladies this week.
I feel blessed with anything.

How are you doing with your pregnancy symptoms?

Ps : my DH said...how did she think it would be 16 weeks. Maybe she thought we were having a primordial dwarf.

I made it to 10weeks!! Yeah. My verifi by progenity test is scheduled for Tuesday the 29th and I am so excited.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving (American holiday) and I am happy my tummy hasn't popped out too much since we will have a house full of family who don't know I am pregnant. Now my only hurdle will be pretending I feel good or hiding my nausea if it gets bad. Last week has been the worst so far and I throw up multiple times a day. Even the things that used to help are not helping much but I just keep telling myself that it is supposed to get better in the next few weeks. Sleep is difficult too and I toss and turn or lay awake for hours in the middle of the night.
Oh a side note, we just finished a huge landscape project at our house that has taken 3 months so that is one less stress on my plate. Time to enjoy the Christmas season.

Yay GirlieCat! We hope to soon *start* a huge landscaping project (maybe in January?) but we are just about finishing a huge remodeling project and are moving in in two weeks. Yay. :D

I got my blood test results today. Virtually no risk of Trisomy 13, Trisomy 18, and Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome), no sex chromosome issues, and no microdeletions. And...we're having a boy! My genetic counselor left a voice mail and my heart was beating so fast as she finally got to the gender part! I had a dream over the weekend that we found out it was a girl. So like atomic says, dreams aren't predictive...Now I'm off to post my sway :)

Haha, you are so funny with the happy to be sick because it leans girl. I try not to think too much about the wives tales and such, but it has crossed my mind. I think regardless of gender, I am sick because my body is very sensitive to hormone changes. When I was in my early 20's and first went on the birth control pill it used to make me sick. I would take it at night before bed and anytime I had to get up early the next day, the hormones would be too strong in my system still and I would throw up. Finally changed to a lower hormone pill and that stopped.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the USA ladies. So excited to eat some turkey today and then put up our Christmas tree and decor tomorrow!!

Im just so worried about this pregnancy & I have been from the beginning & I just dont know why! I havent really had any symptoms at all apart from exhaustion. Nipple tenderness comes & goes which also worries me. Im only 8 weeks so it is early days but by now with both boys I was vomiting a lot! Trying not to read to much into it. Even my doctor wasnt concerned & suggested that perhaps it was a girl this time. I just dont feel like I can relax until I have my 12week ultrasound & I can see its really there & alive. Perhaps its becuase I have seen a few ladies on here have MC. Maybe because I am a bit worried that we will have another child with autism (DS1 wasnt diagnosed until last year so we didnt worry about it last time). Any suggestions?

I can completely understand your worry and concern.
If I had not had the scans (3 in total now), I think I would be a nervous wreck. I am 11 weeks tomorrow.
If I were you, I would get a scan.
8 weeks is a good time to see the heartbeat, and check on progress, it really does ease your mind.
My Dr told me that once you've seen a nice strong heartbeat, the chances of MC go down every week.

I didn't have to pay for mine, as my local hospital does reassurance scans for women who have previously miscarried.
However, if this service had not been offered, I would have paid for a private scan (about £45 in my town).

Just to let you know. I have had no symptoms since week 7, but saw baby and heartbeat at 8+5 days, all is well !

I think the fear of baby having diagnoses or issues is something we all worry about. But I think there is no way to find out before birth. You can only check for cromosomal abnormalities. I would go for a scan if I were you just to relax.

Hey KC.
Please go for a scan hun. I had very little symptoms to speak of with this last pregnancy, HOWEVER, my BF had seriously ZERO symptoms and literally only went off tea - and had a perfectly healthy baby only few months ago xx

So, I had to reschedule my DR apt this morning because my sitter was 50 mins late this morning!! My regular sitter has strep throat, so, it was my back up sitter that was really late. On top of waking up bit late due to nursing dd3 and just having a terrible morning! ugh. I was (still am a bit) really upset.
I am rescheduled for the 2nd of Dec, which I will be 12+1. The bright side to this is, IF I get a scan 12wks is better than 11 to see a wee nub! So everyone pray I am measuring like a whale (which is how I feel) and they decide to scan me... I still can't believe I have to type that.

Did you have your Ramzi done by gender experts? I asked my US tech, and then paid $7.99 for a Ramzi analysis.

Bre - That is so annoying about your sitter. But actually way better for nub guessing, so look forward to that.
I'm really excited to see :D
It was so frustrating! Mostly because the work that goes in before your apt and I was really looking forward to it! Ugh, praying they scan me!

Well I would think the Old Wives tales are based on something ;)
Gotta have a bit of hope heheheh.
I do have a feeling you're having a girl though, I don't know why but my bet is on you having a successful sway GirlieCat

You are so sweet Sparkles. I have super strong feelings that it is a girl too but that could just be wishful thinking and if I am wrong I am sure that will lead to even stronger disappointment. I only refer to baby as "she" already and I am sure that is not smart of me to do.

Thread crashing! I just want to reiterate that Ramzi is NOT accurate whatsoever. With my DS3 he implanted on the left side. This was the first time this ever happened to me. I also had ovulated from my left ovary (not a Ramzi theory but more XX eggs are released from the left ovary). He is all boy. I had even swayed girl.

Don't hang your hopes on this OR allow yourself to feel defeated by this. It's a theory not a proven fact. Hell even anatomy scans can even be wrong too! This happened to my poor cousin!

Just view it as another old wives tale, because I feel that it will eventually become one.

Kc- i can't image how hard it is to not get to see baby till 12 weeks. That seems so outdated to wait that long. Can you call and tell doc you have concerns and want earlier appointment? Or call around to other clinics? There are lots of resources out there if you search. Don't rely on what your insurance says. There is a place in my city that will do pregnancy confirmation and one ultrasound before 13 weeks- completely free- no questions asked about insurance or income. I would have had no idea such a place existed till I did internet research trying to find a private ultrasound place and it popped up.

Hang in there. Hope you see baby soon.

My midwife has been doing this since 1981 - WOW !
And she told me that almost all of the ladies with strong intuition are right, so I'm really excited for you :D

I'm calling my bean 'him' all the time now, and starting to think of boy names (so hard, as I don't like any), it makes me feel more at peace.
Thought if I am am wrong, I do think I will still feel disappointment at the scan for a little minute.

I think with Ramzi, it's not the side they impact on.
It's the side the placenta is on, thats how it was explained to me anyway.
They said it can only be seen on an early scan.

Good to know that you had false Ramzi results though, I would be lying if I said I didn't hold out a tiny slither of girly hope still ;)

Yesterday was a big day, had my NIPT blood done and got a surprise second ultrasound. Baby was amazingly active. It was waving arms and kicking legs. Tech even thought she saw it sucking thumb and playing with umbilical cord. It was so much different than the 8w ultrasound where it just looked like a gummy bear. It looks like a real baby now, fingers, toes, spine, brain... Heart beat was 156 and it measured perfect. I am 11w0d today.

Also yesterday- I didn't throw up!!! The nausea is getting better, not gone, but more manageable and I can go longer without feeling sick. It tends to be worse at night and I have a headache everyday but I think the worst might be over (fingers crossed).

Should get my gender and chromosome results in about 7-10 days. I am very very nervous. I feel so strongly it is a girl (and want it to be girl) that the thought of hearing boy...well I can't even think about it. Although yesterday on US I thought baby looked boy, not anything potty related, just overall felt boy. Going to be a long week.

Hi all! Just checking in. I FINALLY had my first midwife appointment on Monday. It went great! She easily found the HB with the Doppler (I have one at home and luckily had already been hearing it for a week, so I wasn't too worried) AND I had my blood drawn for the Harmony test. I was 10w on the dot but she said since I'm a fairly small person there should be plenty of DNA to work with. Now I'm just worried about false results! I know it's super rare but it's not unheard of.

Of course, I'm trying to tell myself this is another boy. And honestly, I think I will have a better reaction than I did the first time around, when I was devastated - because now I see how having a boy was the best thing that ever happened to me and he is my whole life and I had NOTHING to worry about. I'm sure the next one will be the same. But I still find myself imagining it as a girl in my head. (I don't FEEL like it's a girl, I'm just imagining it is because it's what I wanted.) I think the real challenge if it's boy will be me thinking that there's NO WAY he can be as sweet and wonderful and perfect as our first, yknow? Whereas a girl is a whole new ball game and I'm unlikely to think down that path. Just so many feelings swirling around. In any case, I should know by this time next week what it is...surreal, eh? Fingers crossed for pink but even more so that I feel at peace with the result, whatever it is.

Dreamsister that's so great! Now our group is two for two! It's so wonderful that we've kicked things off with such positive sway results.

We chose a doula over the weekend and I'm happy I was able to find someone I'm comfortable with. I'll give a natural birth a good try but I won't feel like "My dream birth was ruined!" if there are any interventions.

We're also deciding whether to switch from the hospital half a mile from our house to a hospital 12 miles from our house but half a mile from my parents' house. The advantage of the further hospital is that they have a team of two highly regarded midwives and have great stats. Also, maybe it's easier for my parents to visit while I'm recovering. They also have a jacuzzi tub you can use while laboring. The closer hospital is super convenient for both the delivery and prenatal appointments, but the oncall OB will be one of 17 OBs in the practice.

Girliecat, I totally understand how you feel. I would've sworn I was fully prepared with my first, but I obviously wasn't. I know it won't be a comfort, but it's honestly true that if you have a boy, when he is born you will find it hard to believe you were ever disappointed. I still look at my son and wonder how I ever wanted a girl first instead of him. Obviously I do still want a girl, so I'm not saying that desire would go away, but it really is true that you will be so so glad he is who he is. I'm sitting here with my coffee right now and my son is snuggling up to my midsection, gazing up at me, and grinning. The heart melts!
Nonetheless, I do hope you get your girl!! I can't wait for us to find out next week!

Yeah mine implanted on the right, and the placenta is on the right of that.
I ovulated from the left side though

Today we had the 12 week+4 ultrasound. Everything looks great. The baby did not know it was picture day and was sleeping on his belly during the ultrasound. I tried coughing a few times and going on my side to wake him up and he turned on his side towards us but never got on his back and then went back to sleeping on his belly. The tech flipped the head photo upside down so one of the photos looks like he's looking up but he was actually looking down the whole time.

Unfortunately, insurance does not pay for the doula. We could use our HSA for it though. We're in a major metropolitan area our doula is on the high-ish side at $1,900. The most expensive I found was $2,500 and the cheapest maybe $1,200? We spoke to four different doulas total (three at a Meet the Doulas event) and I'm feeling less and less fearful about birth.

MrsS: My placenta was at week 11 located on the right side. According to Ramzi this is the boy-side, which in my case dosen't match theory. I read somewhere that the placenta can move and Ramzi is only usefull before 8 weeks. When will you find out gender?

I try to film everything...filmed telling hubby, filmed telling sister, filmed telling grandma and we secretly filmed our first ultrasound. Hope I remember to film us opening envelope or email with gender.

Allblue- hubby and I were just talking last night about how to tell family and we will probably do it on xmas eve and xmas day too. We are doing gender at same time as them finding out we are pregnant. Our parents don't even know yet, plus our total of 10 siblings and all the extended fam. (We have 11 total siblings but I have told 1 sister). Still coming up with ideas.

I spoke too soon about feeling better with the nausea. I had a rough last couple days, but beyond the nausea, the headaches are killing me. I can try to control the nausea, but there is almost nothing to ease my headaches and I refuse to take pain meds till 2nd trimester. Yesterday's turned into a full blown migraine, 3rd one of this pregnancy, and I had to leave work early and didn't get off the couch for over 8 hours. I just keep telling myself "this too shall pass", but in the mean time it is getting in the way of my productivity at our busiest time of year at work.

Hi everyone! I just got my BFP two days ago and AF is officially late, so I'm hoping this baby sticks and I can join you all in this group. I should be due Aug. 14.
We already have two boys and swayed girl for this pregnancy, which is definitely our last. I'd like to find out the gender but I'm not sure I want to spend $550 for the harmony or panorama test. Might have to just wait until 20 weeks. :-P

Hi erin,

Congratulations :D
Lots of sticky dust to you.
I know what you mean about the cost, I am opting for a 16 week scan instead - it's £90....but still a lot less than the Harmony here

How funny Allblue and GirlieCat. We are also going to reveal pregnancy and gender at Christmas Eve. We will try to work out a joke and want to film their reaction as weel. We think they will think we are crazy to be having a 4th child. It have problems hiding my growing tummy, so it will be good to get the truth out.

I am the same way Dreamsister! I've only told my mom and a really close family friend because he came to visit for Thanksgiving and my husband spilt the beans. haha.

I am trying to figure out how to announce this little one too... I think we may announce on New Years Eve. Not sure yet, I really want to find out first (a little I don't).

I was curious, as far as nub... Can you see the nub from a belly shot? The baby was on her/his back majority of the scan, kicking her/his legs and the quality wasn't wonderful... but many times looks like a nub shot but from above and something sticking up. Is that even possible?

December 5th, 2016, 04:38 PM
Bre it really needs to be a profile shot so you can see the angle of the nub.

Just had my scan, worth every penny, and will definitely go back for the sexing scan at 16 weeks.
If any UK ladies are looking for a good private scan place - I can recommend Insight. They really took their time, was a 15 minute appointment but overran as baby was sleeping most of the time lol.
Baby is measuring 4 days further along again, and is the same size as a mini Macaroon lol.

If I was 98% sure it was a boy, I'm 99.9% now, that skull looks so boyish to me.

Well we got our results today. Baby is healthy and....

IT'S A GIRL!!!

34001

I feel numb with happiness and like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. We had the doctor put the results in an envelope and we took it home and opened it. I couldn't look so my eyes were closed while husband opened it...husband paused and I thought he was waiting for me to tell him it was okay to say it. He said it out loud, I immediately opened my eyes and he was standing there with tears already filling his eyes. We both stood there hugging and crying...and my husband never cries. He was so happy. He wanted a girl more than he was letting on.

This is the first girl birthed into his immediate family in 48 years. He is 1 of 5 kids- 1 girl (she is the oldest and 48) and then 4 boys. The siblings have produced 7 grandsons for my in-laws and they are all done having kids- my husband is the last to have kids so we were their only chance to have a granddaughter. After we calmed down, DH said (through tears) "We broke the streak!"

I am so thankful right now and full of emotions.

Hi all,

I'm very happy for all those who are getting their dream baby.

Just letting you know that I am out. I have miscarried again and I'm waiting for a D and C (not happening until Friday). I'm not sure whether I'll be back here or not - I've had three losses in a row and I don't know if we will be trying again. Certainly not soon, anyways.

Having all these losses has reinforced to me how precious my boys are. I'm trying to accept the lesson with grace and fortitude. Speaking only for myself: I believe that my previous attitude was spoiled, selfish, and just plain wrong. I should have been humble, open, and grateful for what I had. I am now.

I too am out for those who don't know. I had a chemical pregnancy.
I am ttc again this month but so far fertility friend cannot pinpoint ovulation as my temp has not spiked. I am on cd20. OPKS were + day 15/16.
I just had an internal ultrasound today and the tech wouldn't tell me if I've ovulated. She just told me she sees a larger follicle surrounded by smaller follicles. Whatever that means

Anywhere good luck everyone with your pregnancies. If I get a miracle this cycle I'll be back!!

Girliecat: have been patiently waiting to see your results from your testing...i am so beyond thrilled for you. I dont often find i feel much one way or another for someone who is swaying for their first baby (though if i had waited to have kids i think deep down i know i would have been the woman who swayed and swayed for a boy the first time if it had been planned) And so just know i truly have tears of joy in my eyes for you. I dont know why i wanted you to so badly have the daughter you dreamed of. Perhaps because you were so beyond kind and supportive to me, or because i watched some of your journey and could see how let down you were some of the months you werent pregnant...

Your daughter is very lucky. And how amazing and wonderful that you guys broke the streak and the joy you just described your husband having....it warms my heart. She is going to be such a treasure to you both. Good luck and i wish you the absolute very best. Will obviously be checking in on you time to time :)

PS: those migraines you have been having make more sense to me now...not that boy moms dont get them too it just seems more rare...its all the extra girl hormones coursing through you...mine were so bad with DD3 i had to take special medicine for it...i hope yours let up after the first trimester but if not just know there are baby safe options as opposed to suffering like i tried to for most of it

Burakoam- your words literally brought me to tears. Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts and words. [emoji171] I think if I was younger it would have been a bit different too and not so much pressure.

Very interesting about the migraines. I didn't know if it pointed to one gender or the other. Doctor said to expect them till about 20 weeks. Being only 12 now, that scared me. I will try to make it at least past 14-15 weeks medicine free but then if they are still bad I will ask about meds. Glad to know you found a safe medicine to help. Thank you.

GirlieCat: HUGE congratulations on your baby girl. I am thrilled for you. I also had a strong feeling what your sway would be succesfull. It is so wonderfull that so many girls on this due-date-thread are getting their DG. It is so amazingly nice to be able to relax because you don't have to worry anymore, don't you think? Are you going shopping for pink now? After knowing gender for one week now I still find it hard to believe that it is really true. I think it takes a while to sink in. Enjoy the feeling.

So, I have decided to have a scan on the 21st of Dec, and our 9yr anniversary is the 19 Dec, so it should be exciting to see baby. I'll be about 14wks and they will look for gender starting 13wks and will do another scan around 15-17wks if it's questionable.

I am so nervous and excited but mostly nervous!

If it's a boy, you should see a scrotum and a penis by then, provided the US is a high resolution one. At my hospital, they provide much clearer scans than my friend who lives in another state.

Just a quick question - what is the safe way to wean down folic acid dose? I have been on 1500 mg since being on the le diet. I have now added in a pregnancy multi which has 500 mg and am continuing to take 1000mg of folic acid as well but I am not sure how to safely decrease this to just the pregnancy multi. Any advice would be appreciated.

Atomic has told me to wean off after first trimester. I am 13 weeks now so will be spacing out the Folic Acid from this week and only take the amount in the prenatal. Don't know how long it takes to wean off. Maybe two weeks.

Well hello all! I'll be officially joining you ladies! We had a dating ultrasound yesterday which puts me at an edd of August 1st. We got to see the little beans heartbeat, which was 124bpm. We're hoping for a girl, but will be so happy to just have a healthy sticky bean! Looking forward to getting to know you girls

I am in the same boat Kelbear. I take 1600 total- 800 in prenatal and 800 individual folic pill. I am 12w now so I am going to start spacing out my extra 800 next week. Maybe every other day at first then cut pill in half and start doing 400 every other day, then every third or 4th day. I am still warning off my metformin too and because that controls blood sugar I went for a longer wean of about 3 weeks to be fully off it. I am happy to eventually take less pills.

Anyone else taking fish oil pill? Doc said I could take it all through pregnancy but he said same with with 1600 folic and I know you are supposed to decrease that so not sure I trust him.

Welcome norskie, and congratulations on your pregnancy. Did you sway? Hoping you have a healthy and happy 9 months. :-)

Yes we did try and sway, it wasn't a hard sway though. I had a personalized plan with Atomic which helped a lot. I was doing so well with diet until we had a house fire and then everything was out the window with diet. So my diet wasn't the best when we conceived, but I did have some things that I was able to keep changed compared to how my diet was when I conceived my boys. I'm hoping what we did was enough. We also did one attempt at fist +opk after abstaining for 7 days. :)

Norskei - Congratulations !

GirlieCat. I just started doing only the folic acid in my prenatals from week 10.
Taking the Ocean Moms - Prenatal DHA now. Will take it during BF too, as apparently it can be helpful

Also , hopefully you ladies can give me some feedback on my sway :

*We had 4 attempts in the fertile window and before that it was every 3 days.
*used preseed on 3 of the 4 attempts
*laid down for 30 minutes at least after each attempt
*used missionary position with legs over dh shoulders
*female O each attempt
*took prenatals every day for 2 months before conception
*dh & I both took coq10 morning and night for 2 weeks before conception
*dh took multi vitamins for 2 weeks before conception
*i took 4 wheatgrass capsules morning and night for 2 weeks before conception
*tried my best to increase potassium which included 2 99mg capsules a day and through diet (banana smoothies, coconut water, OJ)
*avoided acidic foods
*ate average 2300 calories a day - on diet about 2 months
*atw cereal almost every day
*always ate breakfast
*tried to keep positive ions up - cell phones , laptops , iron , etc.
*dh only wears boxers
*no saliva used during attempts (kills sperm)
*gender calendars say boy (not that it means much lol)
*dh & I both took probiotics daily
*i was on antibiotics prior to O for a short time which MAY sway blue.

A couple things I'm worried about -
Moon phase was girl - although my dd1 was conceived in a boy moon phase so not a huge deal .
I had a pretty nasty cold prior to O :(
1 of our 4 attempts I did not have fertile cm and we didn't use preseed
Not sure we were taking some of our supps long enough to make a difference

We plan to find out in January with the blood test :) I'm nervous as can be !
Praying morning sickness stays away . I swear I believe in the morning sickness theory = girl lol . I know not for everyone but it seems to be that way in my family . I had hyperemesis with dd2 :(

I think that looks like a great sway.
Wouldn't worry too much about the moon phase, there's not really any hard evidence that it works.

Congratulations and welcome :D

Welcome Cnburke. Happy to have you join. Congratulation. I don't know boy sways well but that sure does look complete opposite of a girl sway. Lots of blue dust to you. Are you going to get any early NIPT testing done or wait till second trimester ultrasound?

Hi all,

I've been following this thread after and invite from GirlieCat to join when I got my BFP. I didn't join straight away as I have had previous losses and wanted to make sure baby would stick before getting to excited.
We are 10 weeks and 3 days and due on the 7th of July. This is our 4th baby and we swayed girl, although it wasn't a hardcore sway I did what I could :) I am worried about my sway the month we conceived as we stopped the diet due to moving states and ate what was available at the time. Hopefully this doesn't effect our sway to much but you never know, I have done a gender maker test well 3 actually lol and all have come back as a girl result but who knows how accurate they actually are. We are a same sex couple and we live in Australia! Congratulations on all your pregnancies and successful sways so far!

That's so awesome that you're 10 weeks now, I think almost everyone here can relate to the trepidation of posting too soon.

Do you find out officially at the scan ?

Girliecat...have you been sending me your morning sickness?
I've started it a few days ago, just total nausea and back to the first part of the 1st trimester !
On the bright side, I've lost 4 lbs, so my weight gain isn't as humungous.

Have our next scan on Thursday.
It sounds so silly but I am really hoping the skull isn't as boyish - not that that is 100% accurate lol

Welcome Rainbow. How exiting that you are joining us.
Our 3 boys got their advent gifts on Sunday: a pink dummy and a scan picture of the baby wrapped in christmas paper. They were all chocked and very happy and have been gently patted my stomac and giving me their opinions on girl names. I booked a 14 week scan next week, so the boys can see their coming sister. Although I got a Harmony test result which says girl, I am still afraid that the scan will tell us opposite. I know I am being silly because I think the Harmony test is as close as stone sure and won't lie about gender. Anyone else still won't believe that they are really getting a girl?

Welcome rainbow! Glad you finally decided to join us and glad you have had a healthy 10 weeks already. Happy to have you with us.

Sparkles, sorry you are sick. I have been feeling better and better with nausea. I still get sick sometimes, but it is more sudden now and not feeling bad for hours on end. Headaches are still daily, which oddly I would rather be nauseous instead but I know I don't get to pick. I hope you feel better. Good luck at your scan. I don't get another till 20 weeks unless I go private.

Dreamsister- how sweet that your boys know now and they got so excited. I believe Harmony is so very accurate but yes, I will be a bit nervous on my anatomy scan to make sure nothing changes with the gender. I waited till 11weeks for my blood test so I feel pretty confident that was long enough for it to be accurate, but there is always a sliver of doubt.

I borrowed a friends fetal Doppler and listened to babies heart beat last night. So glad to have this to check on baby a few times a week since doc appointment are not as often in second trimester. Looking forward to being able to feel her for more reassurance.

14 weeks today! Had an antenatal appt today and the GP didn't listen to heartbeat which was disappointing but she felt my uterus and it's where it should be lol. Still battling nausea and food aversions 24/7 and now reflux has kicked in :( really hoping the nausea will subside soon and not go til 18 weeks like last time! Next ultrasound in 4 weeks time..this waiting is driving me nuts!! Lol. Can't shake the feeling that it's a 5th boy tho :/ I'll probably have a heart attack if they tell me it's not lol

MrsSparkles, yes I know I am being silly. The company that took my Harmony test (Ariosa Diagnostics) say the quoted accuracy for fetal sex for the Harmony Prenatal Test is greater than 99 %. I think I still won't believe it before I hold her in my arms :-)

@MrsSparkles, When will you find out? You are not going to take a Harmony test? I don't think you can tell anything by the shape of the skull. So why do you think you will hear boy? My intuition has not always been right. And with all this gender dreaming mixed in I think you get easily confused. Fx you will get a nice surprise [emoji120]

Dreamsister - We decided not to do the Harmony test as we wouldn't terminate for DS.
And I couldn't justify spending £400-700 on a gender test....although I do kind of wish I had to put me out of my misery !
We find out in 3 and a half weeks :)
Keep thinking of all the things I did right with my sway....but then the SMEP just throws it all for me.

Have you started to buy pink things yet ?
Just did the last of my Christmas shopping, and bought tons of stuff in Zara for my cousins baby girl, and my besties daughter.
Shopping for girls stuff is so much fun !

MrsSparkles, I did the Harmony test most of all because I wanted to make sure babys cromosome was all right and as an add on to the 13 week nuchal fold scan.

No I haven't gone shopping for pink yet. We are low on money this month and I can't justify to spend money on baby when she is not yet born. I rather save our money for Christmas presents and for a future weekend trip for DH and I before baby is born.

Plus I simply haven't had time as I work full time 5 days a week.

But I will defo go shopping one day. I am not just so much of a shopping person also because I am too reasonable about our money.

Shopping for boys stuff is also fun and Zara is nice.

It is a bit of a worry that the scan they do for free here, is so inaccurate regarding chromosomal abnormalities.
So I think you absolutely did the right thing getting the Harmony.

I can understand not shopping yet, it's such an expensive time of year !!!! But if I hear girl...I will probably bankrupt my husband lol
I am such a bargain hunter, I borrowed my friends work discount for Zara so it worked out quite cheap.
