 excited to be back again to sway for the second time after a successful pink sway last year :) thought id do this in case any other 2017 swayers want somewhere to chat before getting onto the tww and due date posts!
anyone thinking of swaying, planning a sway, actively swaying etc :XX: or :xy: all welcome!!
abit about me..
im 4blue2pink or at least i was when i first joined this site.. thanks to gender dreaming i had a successful pink sway last year so im now 4blue3pink :) and hoping to be 4blue4pink in the not too distant future *fingers crossed* im all about big families and small age gaps!! many think im crazy but i wouldnt have it any other way :)
my family so far is:
boy 2010
girl 2011 (mid pregnancy loss)
boy 2011 (different pregnancy after the loss)
boy 2012
boy 2014
girl 2015
girl 2016 (successful GD sway)
i didnt sway for any of my children except my youngest but from being on this site i can clearly see why i had the 4 boys and then my youngest non-sway girl.
last time i did LE diet, one attempt and i also drank diet coke, i didnt do alcohol, coffee or exercise, it was a very laid back and easy to cope with sway which is exactly what i wanted.
this time i plan to keep things very similar, LE diet, one attempt and diet coke again but im weighing up weather or not to add alcohol and/or coffee.. im currently having one alcoholic drink at tea time and will carry that on as long as i can but im not a big fan if im honest!! im going to try coffee but im not sure il be able to drink the recommended 3-4 cups a day in which case i might just scrap it and go without like last time, i also wont be exercising again this time because i cant commit to it with 6 kids to look after.
i hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year and my fingers are crossed that everyone on here gets their desired pink or blue beans in 2017!! and look forward to hearing from any other fellow swayers who want to chat :)
im currently on day 2 of my LE diet and have started using opk's this month to try and get an idea of when to plan the 1 attempt for when we are ready, last time i got a positive opk on day 17 each month so im hoping this time it will be the same day each month again to make life easier!! Bring on round 2!! xx

Hey girls this is a great post so thanks 4blue! And congratulations on your girls I really hope I'm as lucky as u one day.
I started my sway on 1st November - so I'm weighing up wether to have my first attempt in Jan or Feb . Over Xmas I prob cheated 3/4 days In a row not too bad but definatley went over in fat &I didn't exercise for those days either who does on Xmas day?!
so I can't decide - but one thing I now have going for me is I have had a sickness bug since the 30th and haven't eaten much other than toast for 3 days I've had awful cramps and nausea so dropped a few pounds so hoping if I try in 2 weeks time this could be a good thing ?? What do u think ?
I know I prob won't fall pg first time anyway so talking hyperthetically really!!
Five boys I remember following your journey last year when I was looking to go to your clinic then I changed to Cyprus then we moved house for the second time in one year so had no money to persue it nor mentally could I do it I was in a bad place - sow eve decided to sway for a little girl after 2 boys (5&2) really hoping it works !!
I'm on folic acid vitex and SP and aspirin still 3 days a week my husband has low sperm so Is not doing supps just having some soy now and again.
Anyway it's great to see some lovely ladies on here trying hoping we can all help eachother ! Xxx

Hi everyone! Great to hear your stories!
I'm swaying blue...I started HE diet beginning of october, so 3 months ago. We have one DD who will be 11 months in a week's time....that's going quick!!
I'm currently on cd10 but we aren't trying this cycle as DH leaves for a boy's trip tomorrow and we'll miss our window.
Doesn't bother me though as we said we'd start trying again when she turned 1. We are going to try next cycle, so end of the month.
I totally understand how I had a girl - lived a very LE lifestyle in regards to diet and my job as a dance teacher. Hoping that won't affect my boy sway too much. I've been lifting to get in some weights now too. Also was on clomid for her, so another huge sway. Good luck everyone!

hi fiveboys :) ive just had my 1st coffee and it wasnt as bad as i thought itd be :) so i'll keep on with it i think!! the idea of 3-4 cups seems abit daunting to me since i normally only drink water but im sure once i get into the habit of it it'll become normal!! ive got to admit i didnt count calories or fat totals etc last time i didnt want the stress and really cant get my head around the numbers!! for me i think LE is not so much what you eat but more how you eat if that makes sense? (though going veggie is the best option) i thought of it as having 2 sensible mainly veggie meals per day with no snacks in between, the girl mums i know in real life dont stick to specific foods but they do seem to fast for long periods between meals. there are no banned foods on LE diet so i wouldnt get too consumed with what you are or arent allowed in your meals, the only things i personally dont allow myself is red meat and snacks!! atomic is amazing she will put you on the right track!! a girl after 6 boys is completely possible ive seen women on this site with 6,7,8 boys get their girl <3 but i know how you feel, i was so convinced we would never have a girl after having 4 boys and losing our only girl, i knew i could conceive girls but totally believed they would always pass away before birth.. but i was wrong! never give up hope! but also know that a large family of all boys is so rare and extremely special in its own way :awe: thankyou so much for replying and wishing you all the luck in the world with your sway :) xx

hey BB! a sickness bug is how i got my 2nd daughter (1st was the loss) i wasnt swaying but as it worked out we did 1 attempt that month then i came down with gastro and was totally wiped out for 4 days (it was hideous!!) so i wrote that month off due to the illness (barely able to eat anything) and only having sex once but surprise surprise 2 weeks later bfp and a girl!! so last time i tried to re-create the differences (without the illness!!) through LE diet for prolonged periods of low blood sugar and only having 1 attempt.. i am convinced low blood sugar and 1 attempt are the key to getting girls :) best of luck with your sway my fingers are crossed for you!! personally id go for it in 2 weeks use the illness to your advantage and just stick to your LE diet once your able to eat again, if bfn then just keep plodding on till the next month.. whatever you decide keep us updated :) xx

Hi Ladies, would love to join in. I'm swaying for a girl after two boys, and tentatively planning our first attempt for March 2017. Tragically, I lost a baby girl in October at 20 weeks pregnant (due to a retroplacental hematoma).
I hope & pray that I'll be lucky enough to get another chance Xxx

hi MrsT i am so sorry for your loss <3 i lost my first girl mid-pregnancy too, though we never got an answer as to why it happened, it was so devastating.. but never give up hope! its terrifying trying again after such an experience :HH: but you have every chance at a healthy pregnancy with a happy outcome :) i'll share a quote that i found helped me.. "you know you are ready to try again when the desire for another baby outweighs the fear of another loss" this certainly rang true for me. my fingers are crossed for you for march or whenever you decide to try, best of luck with your pink sway and praying for a healthy pregnancy for you to help heal your family :XX: keep us updated xx

Hi 4blue2pink,
Thanks a lot for this thread! It had my attention immediately since we lost our precious daughter at 30 weeks gestation last June. So first of all, I'm very sorry for your loss. This is also for you Mrs Theatrical! I'm always amazed how many people need to go through this horrible pain of losing a child. It shouldn't be happening!
Since this was our first child and we were so ready to welcome a baby in our lives, we decided in September to try again (and now it was even more important that it's a girl).
I must say that the sway you described looks very much like mine, except for the exercise (I tried to do it 4x a week). I'm also not a fan of coffee and alcohol so that's been left out.
I'm actively swaying since September but I already had a very girlfriendly lifestile, and even more after the loss. I barely ate after the loss because I was feeling so terrible. So when I discovered this site and purchased a personal plan in September, I also started eating vegetarian (I didn't eat a lot of meat anyway so it's not hard for me). Apparently I got pregnant with the first try (but didn't know because AF arrived) but it became a mc at 7 weeks. But now, I took a pregnancy test last week and I got a BFP again :) I'm just worried because I don't have any symptoms yet and I'm going for a blood draw tomorrow.
How long did it take for you after your loss that you got pregnant again? Any more tips maybe?
I just really hope I can get a girl; I always wanted a girl and now with this loss it's even more important :(

Thank you. 6 years tomorrow, I hope you are feeling ok? I'm sure it must be so hard each time the anniversary comes around :( Did you say you don't know why you lost her?
There's an increased chance I could get another hematoma with a subsequent pregnancy, but I can't live in fear. My first two pregnancies (with my boys) were very easy. Now I will be classed as super high risk if we do conceive again.

Thought I'd pop in -- hoping to have a son. I've been actively "preswaying" for a boy since I found this site almost a year ago exactly! I started swaying more thoroughly after we had an oopsy pregnancy between 3-4 months postpartum which ended in a miscarriage. Not actively trying to get pregnant, mind you, but definitely don't want to get caught out again since it was a little ridiculous how we even got pregnant that time...
Before my DD, I was ultra LE. One meal a day, if that, tons of exercise, no red meat, lots of coffee and alcohol, etc. My DH and I are frequent BDers, so I'm the opposite of some -- I know more than 1 attempt can still get a girl if all other things are dotted and crossed!

Oh hello everyone, hope ye don't mind me joining this lovely thread ...day 2 of the le diet here too so nice to be part of a group who are all in it together! Had 3 attempts last Sep, Oct and Nov but didn't conceive, so technically I've been on the le diet on and off for 6 mths really. I've 3 wonderful little boys but everyday I long for a daughter .. the feeling just won't go away and every where I see little baby girls I get a Little bit jealous which I hate. Anyway going to attempt again in Feb and pls God we all get our desired gender. Sorry for everyone's loss, I can't relate but I feel your pain. Sending ye all virtual hugs ❤

sigrid i am so sorry to hear about your daughter, to have that happen in your first pregnancy just seems so much more cruel and horrific, i was lucky that when i lost my girl i already had a boy so i knew i could make it through a pregnancy i just had to face the fear.. in a morbid way its nice to see so many on this thread who have had losses, hopefully it will offer support being around people who understand <3
i absolutely understand the need for you to have another girl, i was in a very bad way for a long time after my loss too. your sway does seem very similar to mine! and mine was successful so i think your in with a great shot :) huge congratulations on your bfp!! my fingers are crossed for a healthy happy easy pregnancy for you with a beautiful baby girl at the end of it :)
after my loss i was pregnant again after only 5 weeks!! i had a straightforward full term pregnancy that resulted in my 2nd son :) my main tip for you now you have your bfp is to stay calm.. easier said than done i know.. but what will be, will be and you are powerless to control this pregnancy as terrifying as that thought is!! just because you had such a tragic outcome last time round does not mean it will happen again!! you can do this :) we are all here for you, having no symptoms is OK i had no symptoms early on with most of mine, stay positive and keep us all updated after your blood draw etc we will all be thinking of you xx

yes we had a full post mortem including placenta tests and i had swabs and a million blood tests and everything came back normal, i was fine and baby was 100% normal and healthy as was the placenta and cord.. it seems her heart just stopped and we will never know why, which has made it harder to cope with i must admit.
is a hematoma like a large blood clot that forms behind the placenta and pushes it off the wall? or have i got that wrong? im not very medically minded im afraid!! would they scan you more frequently next time and is there anything they could do if another hematoma was detected?
i admire the courage it must take for you to try again, everything crossed you have a positive outcome xx

TP! :D how are you ive not seen you about for a while!! im so sorry to see that you have had a loss, life can be so cruel i hope you are ok? how is your little girl she must be getting big now!
i truly believe you will get your boy as long as you keep on track with your diet, you really do strike me as a boy mum and im not just saying that to blow smoke up your arse i really mean it!! sending you all my blue dust and hoping for a sticky blue bean for when you decide to try :)
your so right diet and lifestyle are key arent they!! but i do think 1 attempt is a strong tactic too xx

Thank you so much 4blue2pink .. absolutely everyone has girls apart from me, all my friends and family on my side and my husband's side. It would be like winning the lotto if it happened, I need to stay positive otherwise I get really down about it. I hope the last couple of months will stand to me even tho I broke it a few days, week here and there (like when I thought I was pregnant and resorted back to my old ways) so I hope Feb isn't too early which will be 6 weeks. And Xmas I might have overdid it on the choc but haven't gained any weight, have lost a stone over the last few months since starting le diet

Thank you so much, that really means a lot to me! I'm so, so sorry the anniversary of your loss is coming up. Please share any feelings you want to here, I hope it can help <3 I'm certainly here for you.
And thank you for checking up on me despite it! I waffle back and forth -- I hate admitting it, but I might be dealing with a chemical pregnancy on top of it now. It seems like my body just loves to get pregnant but not necessarily stay pregnant -- even when we're not trying. I imagine I'd have been knocked up perpetually if I hadn't been on BC for so many years! It's hard to tell if my DD was a fluke, or if me being so close to having her is why this keeps happening... but according to my midwife and other resources, the body's way of showing you're not ready is by not ovulating, not by miscarrying :/
My DD is getting big though! She loves her solids, calls me mama, and is the happiest, cutest baby we've ever seen haha.
You're definitely right on the 1 attempt -- the sways keeps showing that's a good move. I just like to reassure the women swaying for girls who go, "Oops, we did more than one" or "I had so much CM!" that a girl can still be on the way for them -- look at me! Haha.

sigrid i am so sorry to hear about your daughter, to have that happen in your first pregnancy just seems so much more cruel and horrific, i was lucky that when i lost my girl i already had a boy so i knew i could make it through a pregnancy i just had to face the fear.. in a morbid way its nice to see so many on this thread who have had losses, hopefully it will offer support being around people who understand <3
i absolutely understand the need for you to have another girl, i was in a very bad way for a long time after my loss too. your sway does seem very similar to mine! and mine was successful so i think your in with a great shot :) huge congratulations on your bfp!! my fingers are crossed for a healthy happy easy pregnancy for you with a beautiful baby girl at the end of it :)
after my loss i was pregnant again after only 5 weeks!! i had a straightforward full term pregnancy that resulted in my 2nd son :) my main tip for you now you have your bfp is to stay calm.. easier said than done i know.. but what will be, will be and you are powerless to control this pregnancy as terrifying as that thought is!! just because you had such a tragic outcome last time round does not mean it will happen again!! you can do this :) we are all here for you, having no symptoms is OK i had no symptoms early on with most of mine, stay positive and keep us all updated after your blood draw etc we will all be thinking of you xx
Wow, what a sweet message, thank you so much . You describe it perfectly...I know the pain is equal with a second or third child, but like you said, you just know that you're capable of baring a living child. I'm not unfortunately. I really felt like I failed and my body isn't meant to carry a baby. I just hope it was really bad luck. That's at least what the specialist think (but they aren't 100% sure either). You're right, I'm glad I'm not alone in here. On the other hand, I don't wish this for anyone.
Good that you understand it :) I would just hate it if I lost my chance on having a daughter. And that seems double unfair since I 'had' a daughter.
The other thing with my sway is that I was/am also losing weight with it. But the problem is I'm already on low weight (always) and after the loss I didn't eat and now with this diet I lost another 2 kg's and I'm now on a BMI of 17,5 which is waaay too low :s So I really hope I stay pregnant this time because I'm having a very hard time gaining weight.
Ow 5 weeks!!! That must be very double, no? I totally wasn't ready for about 2 months after the loss.
That's a great tip thanks :) And you're actually very right...we just can't do anything about it. For the moment I'm really indifferent about my pregnancy. I think it's a sort of protection. How did you cope with it?
Great to hear that you didn't have any symptoms in the beginning. I had very soar and bigger boobs my last pregnancy, so it's a bit strange now...
Thank you so much for the support! I'm crossing my fingers for another pink bundle of joy XXX

28 g protein is not enough!! 40-50 minimum and those with PCOS need to do more like 50-60
Eggs, dairy, beans, nuts, grain products all good non-meat sources of protein

Hi hun... ive started swaying hopefully for my first girl im on day 2 of diet today.. i got a plan from atomic also so sticking to that as much as possible..im finding it hard getting my head around what i can and cant eat so im sticking to 1500 cals a day..no meat.fish and only 4 eggs a weeks.. and trying to get 40g of protein a day but only managed 28 yesterday as i dont like meat anyway since the birth of my last baby 9 months ago.. im having 3 coffees a day which i dont normally have and diet coke..also started metformin yesterday and got clomid ready for my attempt in march..im excited but after 6 boys i cant ever imagine having a girl but il give it my best shot..lets hope we both get some lucky pink dust xx

your welcome TP its good to see you back!! :) and thankyou <3 6 years feels surreal if im honest, i hate feeling like she slips further away from me as the years pass.. she should be in school now in the same year as her big brother who is held down a year for learning difficulties so i know the yeargroup well and often wonder who would have been her friends in that classroom etc..
oh im so sorry to hear that :( your obviously very fertile!! but something just isnt quite right.. it could be that your daughter is so young, has your midwife suggested anything like tests etc? maybe some levels are off somewhere or something? i dont believe your daughter was a fluke if anything surely your body would have struggled at the start of her pregnancy due to your extreme LE lifestyle? i dont mean that as an insult in any way im just trying to say that your body sustained a healthy pregnancy in difficult circumstances at the beginning so i see no reason why you wont have another baby :) i really believe you will!!
oh she sounds adorable!! they grow up so fast dont they!!
yeah i know exactly why you say that about attempts and your right, if you can offer hope then go for it :D xx

If the Chinese knew about any ancient wisdom for gender swaying, there would not be orphanages full of unwanted baby girls. :(
Moon phases are also junk. People just play around with the day since no one knows the hour of their birth or the hour of conception, to make them come out right.

Yes, the hematoma was a huge collection of blood clots behind the placenta, slowly causing it to detach. It's not easy to see on a scan, so we were only diagnosed the week before I lost her, (we knew there was a problem though as I had been bleeding since week 11). My waters broke and I went into labour. We actually didn't know she was a girl until I had her, as we were waiting for the surprise. So very sad.

no i didnt, i dont believe in either as i have never come across any chart/theory that is right for all my kids!! results seem very random so some women will have it be right for all their kids and believe in it while others have it never be right for them! and i think you will only stress yourself out trying to cram your attempts into the "right" months and moon phases, baby's of both genders are conceived every month and moon phase :) i say stick to the basic stuff that works well xx

hey :) my first daughter who i lost was not a sway i just fell pregnant and got a girl so no diet there!
my second daughter wasnt a sway either, i was eating normally (very boy friendly lots of snacks etc) then came down with gastro a few hours after dtd for the only time that month, i was wiped out for 4 days unable to eat or drink more than a few sips of lucozade or water here and there, it was awful!! wrote that month off for ttc then 2 weeks later bfp!! huge surprise!! and a girl!! im convinced it was mainly the 1 attempt but also the illness and resulting low blood sugar, there was no intentional diet just 4 days of no food over ovulation-i dont recommend it!!
finally my third daughter was a sway!! i did LE for around 12 weeks before i got pregnant with her, it was slightly over 12 weeks i think :) im aiming to get a good couple of months on the diet this time before ttc xx

im getting on ok :) im doing the intermittent fasting again which i did last time, and to be honest i would be doing it anyway sway or no sway because i feel so much better and more energised when im doing it!! even my skin is better!! i'll admit at first my energy crashed through the floor and those first few days were tough!! but i stuck at it and now im adjusting and feeling so much better.

Hi 4blue2pink I'm just wondering what is the Intermittent fasting? Also can I ask you did you eat much dairy on the Le Diet?
I'm contemplating on attempting this month and there is a bug in the house so it might stand to me. Diet going well even tho I've eating 3 small meals as opposed to 2.

hi amelia
intermittent fasting is a way of eating that is supposed to be more natural and healthy for you, it isnt really a "diet" as such because you are able to live on it once you have changed to eating this way.. (though i personally wouldnt and dont do it during pregnancy, im not knowledgeable enough to want to chance it)
the method i follow is called the warrior diet, my partner introduced me to it a few years ago, he is very interested and knowledgeable on training and different ways of eating to benefit the most from your training etc.. he has tried many different ways of eating and found this to be the best. though funnily enough my body seems to respond better to it than his does!! i was so surprised at how much of a difference it made to me :) even though i dont train in any way
i will briefly outline it here but please please please research it fully before doing it yourself, if you have any medical conditions etc it may not be safe for you and if you dont eat enough on it you will become ill, its a way of eating that is supposed to be permanent, not a starvation or crash diet..
you start out with a 2 week detox period where you fast all day except for water (and black coffee if you wish), you then have a "feast window" of a few hours at tea time to eat your food, it doesnt need to be a massive meal in one go you can space out your foods over the time period but you must always start with a salad or some broccoli to aid digestion, then you are free to eat whatever you please (though healthy choices are encouraged) and make sure you eat enough to sustain yourself!! during the first 2 weeks you are eating your entire daily food intake during this one evening window. the first few days are rough but you do adjust quickly
once the 14 day detox is over you add in a small and easy to digest meal at lunch time, for example an apple and a boiled egg, carrot sticks or some natural yogurt etc. it is only supposed to be a small meal and must be easy on your stomach. you continue to only drink water and black coffee through the day and stick to your evening "feast window" where you eat the rest of your daily food intake within a few hours, always starting with a salad or some broccoli/fibrous vegetable first.
the main purpose is to fast for long periods of time because that is how we are naturally supposed to eat. there is loads of info out there on intermittent fasting if it interests you, the health benefits are huge!!
i use it in my sway because it keeps my blood sugar low for long periods of time which i believe is a strong pink factor and i then incorporate Atomic's LE food advice into what i choose to eat so for eg.. no red meat, white rice instead of brown, mainly veggie choices with a small amount of chicken every now and then etc.. this worked for me last time and is a style of eating/diet that i am comfortable on and makes me feel better than if i were trying to eat 3 square meals per day, it also stops me snacking which is a big thing for me!!
however Atomic created the LE diet and all its variations for a reason, it is safe to do and the alternate versions are safe for various medical requirements so please dont do anything without running it past her!! my partner basically took control of my diet for me when i first did intermittent fasting because i was clueless!! but now i know what im doing its easy to follow :) before i get shouted at i must add i dont recommend people dropping LE in favour of intermittent fasting!!
dairy isnt a huge part of my diet but i didnt deny myself it, i did have cheddar cheese so like cheese on toast or some grated onto my pasta or in a sandwich, i never have much milk or yogurt anyway as not a big fan of either.
3 small meals is fine on LE :) long as you arent snacking your blood sugar will be low between meals which is the point :) and yes sickness is good for pink!! im convinced i got my 2nd daughter (with no sway) thanks mainly to a stomach bug!! good luck for if you decide to go for it this month xx

Hi Girls great thread can I join?
First of all I'm so very very sorry for the mums with losses on here. Your stories make my heart ache for you x I'm sending you all healthy rainbow baby dust x
I won't be attempting until November/ December as I just had my second son via c section in December 2016 however after my girl sway technically failed last year ( I say technically because I'm holding my 4 week old son and there is no way he could be called a failure I wouldn't trade him for the world!) I will be starting the diet and exercise much earlier this time.
I'm breastfeeding so will ease in month by month starting with going veg by end of January, 3 meals and no snacking by end of feb and skipping breakfast by March etc etc until I go full sway by June when I introduce solids to my little one. I will still be breastfeeding as I fed my first until he was two. My milk supply is so strong luckily I can fast for long periods and drop nutrients and it does not affect it at all.
I will buy a custom plan around May as well- I went It alone last time and this time want the stress taken out of it. Also didn't do exercise last time or Vitex so those will be new sway tactics for me. I did le diet for 3 months, weight loss (10kg) coffee alcohol and one attempt as well as aci jel and rephresh and DH frequent releasing, bike riding and taking supps etc you name it we did it lol! but our new little guy was so meant to be in our family and we wouldn't change a thing
Anyway it's nice to be able to watch all your journeys and I truly hope we can all conceive our desired bubs whether pink or blue this year x

Hi ladies, the HE diet sucks! I feel like all I ever do is eat or get food out of the fridge/cupboard to eat!! I've put on 3 kilos and definitely don't want to put on anymore - just want to maintain that now. Since being on the HE diet I've been introduced to things I never would've had before and I'm loving coconut water and avocado and orange juice now. I've been having a V8 juice daily - still not a fan of that even though I love tomatoes and veggies....
I always ate red meat constantly throughout the week so that's nothing new and I love eggs but I would usually only have eggs once a week...two a day is starting to make me dislike them!
And all the supps are so expensive!!! But if DH and I get our darling boy in the end we will be forever grateful! I'm a real boy mum personality and DH and I love our football and car racing etc. so I feel we were meant to have a boy or two.
Fingers crossed. How's everyone else going?

I did le diet for 3 months, weight loss (10kg) coffee alcohol and one attempt as well as aci jel and rephresh and DH frequent releasing, bike riding and taking supps etc you name it we did it lol! but our new little guy was so meant to be in our family and we wouldn't change a thing

that sounds tough dd :( i dont know much about HE diet but from the few posts ive seen i think i would really struggle with it.. and ive got 4 boys!! it seems more complicated than LE too with sooo many supps!! thankyou for posting here im so glad we have blue swayers on this thread as well as pink, i find it really interesting to see what the blue team are doing :) im sorry i cant help i dont know much about HE im afraid!!
thats great that your finding new foods that you really enjoy though :D i admire you for sticking with the V8 juice! the thought of that stuff makes me feel sick.. and 2 eggs a day!! wow.. id struggle with 2 a week never mind 2 a day!! its funny how many of the pink swayers think HE must be easy because you never go hungry but id rather deal with hunger than have to force myself to eat/drink large amounts of food/juices i dont like, i take my hat off to all you blue swayers!! and my fingers are crossed you get your boy!! im going ok still plodding along with my diet :) im feeling better adjusted now and my energy feels back to normal, it really crashed the first few days!! xx

hi amelia
intermittent fasting is a way of eating that is supposed to be more natural and healthy for you, it isnt really a "diet" as such because you are able to live on it once you have changed to eating this way..
Sounds interesting, thank u so much for your detailled response. Don't know if I would have the willpower to stick to it tho ... You must be very disciplined 😃
Yes I've decided to attempt this month as we had 3 attempts the end of last year and nothing so we might as well give it a shot. So few more days until our attempt and what's meant to be is meant to be, plus I'm starving all the time on the Le Diet so it will be nice to revert back to SOME (not all) of my eating habits 😜

how is everyone getting on with their diets? both LE and HE as we've got mama's swaying both directions on this thread :) even though im a pink swayer id love to know more about what the blue sway mama's are doing diet wise, ive only seen a handful of posts about it but it seems more complex than LE to me!!
im getting on ok :) im doing the intermittent fasting again which i did last time, and to be honest i would be doing it anyway sway or no sway because i feel so much better and more energised when im doing it!! even my skin is better!! i'll admit at first my energy crashed through the floor and those first few days were tough!! but i stuck at it and now im adjusting and feeling so much better.
hope everyone else is getting on ok xx
I really miss IF. It was sort of my middle ground of "not succumbing to my eating disorder," (though I did slip shortly before conceiving my DD out of anxiety of the future weight gain with a pregnancy.)
For anyone curious, I was fully following IF when I conceived my DD (granted I was also undereating, but I followed an IF lifestyle even on the days when I ate more).
Definitely not a good idea to follow during pregnancy in response to I think someone else -- I just had eaten like that so long, I did with my DD until I tripped a positive on the gestational diabetes test. My midwife and I both agreed that I really didn't have it (it was literally a few points over on ONE part of the test, too) and that my chronic eating pattern (in addition to virtually no carbs before and during pregnancy) made me an uncommon minority with the test. Had no fluid issues, no other issues, low BP, any random blood sugar test was always fine, and my DD was born a healthy 6 lb 10 oz with no blood sugar issues... so no IF during pregnancy, haha.
For anyone curious, no detox is necessary to start it, and people vary in how they do IF. Some people do full 24 hour fasts, others keep it to a 14 hour range. I used to follow a 16-20 hour range, sometimes doing a full 24+.
Leangains.com is a good resource. I think my only thought with IF + LE is that supposedly IF can raise testosterone, and the jury still seems semi-out on how that plays with swaying. Regardless, I was a longtime IF-er + LE-er and got a girl.

thankyou for your reply TP :) i didnt realise you were doing IF when you got your girl!
yes i agree i wouldnt do it when pregnant, thats scary that it gave you a positive on the diabeties test!! thank god you were both ok and it was just diet related..
the one i follow starts with the detox so i just go along with it.. the point is that you can then add in a small lunch time meal if you want too, but generally i dont, like you i sit in the 16-18 hour range and that really seems to suit me :) i will have a look at that website! thankyou for suggesting it.
YES it does raise testosterone!! (eek) but i think its very minimal especially in women.. personally i feel that the 16+ hours of low blood sugar will sway pink much harder than a tiny T boost will sway blue but maybe im wrong!! both you and i have girls from IF so i'll take that!! :) but would be interested to hear oppinions.
how are you finding the HE diet? im not sure id manage well on it it seems more complex than LE (though i dont know much about it so maybe im missing the point!!) just seen your sig how are you getting on with your thyroid issues? do they think that is the reason for the losses? again im so sorry you have been through this, praying you can sort it and get your boy xx

You are the sweetest! Thank you for your words <3
And yeah, I don't think the IF raising testosterone necessarily ruins a sway... after all, like you said, I got a girl with IF! I just also was following an IF PLUS LE lifestyle... so while I was following the "one meal a day" type deal, I was also really undereating and definitely eating low protein and low everything, haha. I would just hope any girl swayers would note that -- I can imagine following IF but sticking to more HE food choices (like leangains.com recommends just for fitness) might backfire.
I actually don't think the HE diet is too complex at all -- the supplements and stuff and all that aren't necessary; I personally take any that are safe while breastfeeding because I've been taking so many pills all my life as is that it's literally no issue for me to take more, haha. I get a good feeling of control/satisfaction from taking them, even.
Otherwise, HE is pretty easy; pair a carb with a protein and eat frequently -- which is actually the old foot advice dieticians used to give, anyway. Foodwise my issues are -- me missing IF! Haha. Eating frequently is something I picked up anyway mid-pregnancy, and was something of a necessity when beginning breastfeeding, but now about 7 months out... it's hard to not just go back to skipping tons of meals and undereating. I was never a snacker, either, so that's a weird thing to get a handle on. At this point, I'm just splitting my lunches and dinners into two meals so I'm just sort of slow eating, haha.
But yeah, my endo has now said he's pretty sure, considering how easily I get pregnant, that my hypo T4 levels (only ONE of them is hypo, but the most important) could definitely explain the losses. Even looking up recurrent early miscarriages and chemical pregnancies usually brings up results that say it's common and usually an issue with the chromosomes "unless there is a thyroid or other hormonal disorder." :( It's upsetting, because it makes me wonder if I just lost two healthy embryos because *I* was the problem.

yes your right i imagine eating a really high nutrient diet while IF would come back to bite you sway wise.. im not a big meat eater anyway and if i do eat it its always white meat and only a small amount, i developed a huge meat aversion during my last pregnancy that im still not over!! i try to do LE type foods when i eat.
im glad your finding HE good and ive got to say re you enjoying the control/satisfaction of it all.. you are such a boy mum!!!!! keep up with the snacking im convinced its the biggest key to blue :) i feel you with the slow eating haha i have to split my IF meals down over a longer period too as i cant sit and eat a large amount in one go, ive always bin like that which is why i got into the habit of just picking at small bits of food all day everyday (and got 4 boys haha)
this must be so tough for you <3 but im so glad you have found an answer, because it means you can work towards sorting it out, and it hits home with me when you say about feeling you were the problem.. when i lost my daughter she underwent a full postmortem and i had blood tests and swabs done for infection and things.. my results were normal so i cant blame it on an infection, and her results were all normal too, she was 100% normal and healthy and so was her placenta and cord, i have always felt that i failed her because there was no reason for her death, she was as normal and healthy as all my other babies yet she still didnt make it.. i was initially convinced i couldnt carry girls as i had 3 boys in a row after her!! but i have now been able to lay that to rest thanks to my 2 youngest girls, but i will always feel that she shouldn't have died.. i hope me saying this isnt upsetting you more, i dont often go into details because it can be upsetting for others to read but i just wanted to say that i understand where you are coming from and i have everything crossed for you for your next pregnancy xx

You didn't upset me at all, and I'm so, so sorry you struggled with all of that. Knowing what I know about science, it makes me wonder if one day they'll discover some unknown condition that might have been the cause. Not all genetic and chromosomal issues are recognized yet -- we only can recognize and explain a few, so even if she seemed "normal," it's possible something was still off. It's crushing, and brutal, but definitely nothing you did <3
My therapist pointed out to me -- back when I was pregnant with my DD and so depressed I thought I'd even miscarry my DD -- women carry healthy babies through war zones, through addiction, etc. We -- at least, people like you and me (I guess boy moms, haha) -- are so desperate for control that we'll look to blame ourselves first rather than chalk things up to "it just happened." Finding "reasons" feels better than thinking we don't have that control.
It's funny that you developed a long standing meat aversion from your pregnancy that can only help your girl sway -- I developed a coffee aversion at literally 3 weeks pregnant with my DD that has still not gone away! It's like our kids are helping our sways ;)

Thank u sweetheart .. excited and nervous and half contemplating on holding off because I'm afraid I won't get my desired gender and this is our last :-( .. tomorrow is Friday 13th and our attempt so might be lucky for us .. who knows, I might have to have a few glasses of wine and go for it x

aww bless you, i dont wanna scare you or anything but that "fear" of getting an opposite will always be there no matter how long you wait.. holding off is only delaying the inevitable which is that you go for it and then have to hope that it worked!! waiting to see if your sway has worked after getting your bfp is so nerve wracking im not gonna lie!! but i still say go for it!! and wine is good for pink so might as well make a fun night of it haha :D we are all behind you 100% in hoping you get your little girl <3 wishing you all the luck in the world if you do decide to go for it and sending you pink dust, let us know what you decide :) xx

glad i didnt offend you :) and yeah your right we dont know everything that can go wrong yet and i hope they can one day find ways to test for more abnormalities etc so that more people can get answers.. thankyou for your kind words <3
not having reasons is difficult as you say its easier to have an answer than just to say "it happened" and accept it at that.
isnt that strange that we both ended up with aversions that work in our favour!! :) can only be a good thing right!!
totally unrelated.. but ive got to ask where did your username come from? its so original :) xx
Haha, it's an account name I've used elsewhere online. "Throwaway" because other sites refer to 'throwaway' accounts when you don't want to have your real account associated with things (which I am super secret about with this! Very few know my GD) and "panther" because that was actually my very first internet handle back in the day -- I was using it as early as 11 11 online!

Hi! I'm from uk. Can I join?
I am
Not actively ttc. I had anorexia 12-23, then was binging and conceived son while in therapy age 24. I then was eating fine but had hyperthyroidism and conceived second son quite underweight.
I have always 'blamed' husband side because it is ALL boys but I realise it's likely me. I adore my boys so I don't mean blame for them, just the reason as to why there are no girls.
I snack frequently, terrible with biscuits and chocolate. The le diet will be really hard for me as I have a tendency to go sod this and quit. So I think January I will try to stop snacking, February stop having breakfast and go vegetarian for food choices. My husband will not be happy though as he loves meat and I want to not argue over it. How have others got around this as I don't want to cook a completely different dinner for me than for my family. I did this when ill and I know my husband will start worrying about me. Also don't want my boys thinking mummy is eating different too much. Maybe I over think these things!

Hi all!
We are going to sway this summer. My boys are 3 and almost 1, and I really want to enjoy a summer with them and not be pregnant. We also have 3 vacations planned in the spring/summer, and I would like to not be exhausted, nauseous, etc and enjoy some alcohol. I'm impatient and would love to start now, but logically I know we need to wait a bit.
I plan on focusing on what I did with my boys and do the opposite. I am not planning on following LE diet to the extreme because I tend to get neurotic and obsessive, and truthfully I would be thrilled with a third boy :) I am temping now and plan to continue, so I should have a good idea of my cycles by the time summer rolls around. Good luck to everyone TTC!

I think the not obsessing is so true. I know with my boys I had moderate caffeine, barely any alcohol, loads of meat and saturated fat and either didn't exercise or only moderately. Oh and bd moderately. Just going to do the opposite and try not to think of it.

I've been on the diet 11 weeks a few cheats here and there but only a day at a time really except for Xmas but this weekend I've had a bad time I've had such a stressful week I just ate so much and had chicken for dinner aswell I've had breakfast yesterday and today to make myself feel better I'm not sleeping well and came downstairs to my husband who had Made eggs with muffins and chocolate crossaints so a bad weekend :(
Feeling really sh*t to be honest and annoyed with myself as our attempt was meant to be this Wednesday and now I feel like I've cheated to much this weekend to try and should hold off another month ?
I know around O it's best to keep blood sugars low and I totally haven't this weekend
I'm thinking shall I just hardly eat this week to help the Xx sperm plus work my butt off with cardio and use rephresh or just skip it completely?

Oh, happy I caught this!!
Ladies, I NEVER want you to mess up on diet and then extremely cut back to "make up for it". There are a couple reasons for this - firstly because it sets you up for a binge/purge mentality where you are constantly starving yoruself and overeating, and secondly because it can and WILL delay O to do it.
It is fine to have a bad few days on diet now and then. When you do, don't beat yourself up, just get back to dieting when you can and move on from there.
NOTHING we do in the week before O matters any more than any other time. We know this as a fact because at first we did not know how long we needed to do diet. we had people dieting very, very strictly for 2-4 weeks and still getting boys, and then anything longer than 12 weeks plus got good results even though virtually everyone relaxed on diet over that lenght of time. Longer on diet even not perfectly outweighs strict diet in the short term. :)

No, but the good news is, you don't have to, we have had dismal results testing pH with absolutely no reliable info gotten from it and most of us have totally given up on it.
Of course, it's easy to do when you've gotten a boy with pH of 4.5. So if you really feel like you MUST test, how to is here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/2065-how-check-ph-dh-dw.html but I do not recommend it any more after seeing soooo many pH and CM opposites going every which way.

Also, while I did happen to stumble onto a couple of q's in here today, normally I don't read the support threads because they move sooo fast and I don't have time to keep up. So when you guys have questions, please start a new thread in the forums and I'll come by and answer them out there. That way you always have the info you need. :)

If I had a thousand lifetimes I'd never be able to catch up to all the misinformation. But do know this much - if you are miserable and starving, that is NOT LE Diet. It is MY diet, I invented it, and I am here to say it is meant to be easier than the other sway diets, not harder. Anyone who says different is wrong! :)

The catch is that we are ALL very acidic, and ALL very alkalkine. We are meant to be acidic when we are not around ovulation, and alkaline at ovulation. In fact, sperm can't live when we aren't alkaline. Anything less than pH of 6 and sperm cannot survive. not X, and not Y. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/11684-ph-pickle.html

i eat something small at dinnertime around 11.30-12 like half a cheese and lettice sandwich or today it was a small bit of this tomato quiche thing i did for the kids.
then tea time is around 5-6pm and i have whatever ive cooked for everyone, but just generally avoid the meat, so tonight i did a tray bake (potato, red onion, diced turkey and green beans with some feta cheese thrown in at the end) i also (rather oddly) did garlic bread because it needed using!! so i had the tray bake with only a tiny bit of turkey and some of the garlic bread.
like you i am mainly veggie but will have a small bit of white meat here and there like i did tonight-i did the same thing last time.
so exciting BB :D frosty walk sounds lovely, your right MrsT there is something magical about frost :) xx

I'm having a bad day ladies. One of my good friends just messaged me to tell me she's 18 weeks pregnant. She didn't know how to tell me after our loss/stillbirth so recently.
I am genuinely pleased for her, but I also feel jealous and incredibly bitter. She's having a boy this time, and she already has a daughter. I feel so angry that everyone seems to get one of each gender, and I lost my much longed-for daughter.
I know it's horrible for me to say these things, just a low day, and my angel daughter's 'due date' is fast approaching. [emoji22]

I tooootally understand you. I have so many people who announced a pregnancy or birth since we lost our little girl. It always feels like someone stabs you in your heart. And I also don't want to have these feelings but I think it's just normal. We were supposed to have a little baby girl and now we don't anymore. And above that, we feel so much pain of losing our child. So really, don't blame yourself, it's normal. I hope this will go away someday, but even now when I'm pregnant again, I still feel the same...
When did you lose her and when is the due date? That's also a hard day (sorry to say that).
I can only say that you're doing the best you can. Just let these emotions in and don't blame yourself.

Hi everyone!! Apologies as I've asked this same question in a couple different places on this site, but we're going to TTC in a few hours so need some advice - does anyone know if the Rephresh were supposed to use is the gel or the wash? Just noticed there's both out there so want to make sure I'm using the right one (using the gel in the applicator). Thanks in advance!

Hi! I ttc 2 times with Rephresh but since it is not adviced I stopped it and the next time I was pregnant. Also, I don't think you should use it so close to ttc (can anyone back me up on this?), I think it's better used a day before ttc. So if you really want this to be your chance, I wouldn't use it. But of course it's totally up to you. Good luck!

Butterflies, I used rephresh about five minutes before a single attempt in November and got pregnant from that, then did the same this month and am now possibly pregnant from that. So please don't get discouraged and think you've ruined your month, it's totally still possible for you. It just cuts the odds a bit.

:LotsofLove: im so sorry MrsT i completely understand where you are coming from, after i lost my daughter everyone around me was suddenly pregnant, loads were unplanned and almost all of them were pregnant with girls, it was very hard to deal with and i have to admit that the jealousy and sadness id feel deep down when someone had a girl lasted for almost 4 years after my daughters death and only went away when i had my 2nd and 3rd daughters, for me i had to have my 2 youngest girls in order to move past those feelings but it isnt that way for everyone, so please dont let what i say worry or upset you im just being honest with my personal experience in the hope that it may help.
even though it was difficult to hear the news, it was kind of your friend to think enough about things to message and explain why she had held off on telling you etc.. rather then just letting you see the big announcement on social media or hear it through others. i have been in your friends position (pregnant with a friend who has lost babies) and even though i lost my daughter i was still nervous about telling her, especially with my girls because up to that point we were both boy mums who had lost our girls, and we had spoken openly about those feelings of jealousy and hurt whenever someone we knew had a girl even though we would both be pleased for them, so i knew what the news of me having a girl was going to make her feel :( it is a difficult position to be in.
the due date is hard :( again speaking purely from my own experience i found her due date very hard the year she died because it was a reminder of where we should have been and that we never got that far.. even though i was pregnant again by that point i found it impossible to let go of what week i *should* have been with her pregnancy rather than concentrating on what week i actually was with the new baby.. (i was a complete mess following her death) but after that year her actual birthday rather than her due date became the main day for her in my mind, and ive honestly never really thought of her due date since, i guess its like when you have a full term baby and they dont arrive on their due date, you mark the birthday not the due date if that makes any sense? she has her birthday and it will always be her day <3
i hope that you are feeling a little better today and i also hope that my being honest with what i experienced hasnt been upsetting to read, it is different for everyone and there are no rules when it comes to grief, things change, especially with time and sadly the loss of a baby or child is the start of a lifelong journey that none of us asked to go on.
"We each have to find our own way through our grief. Just as each child is special and different, so is each mother and our pain when our child dies is unique to us. But we do not have to walk the path alone.."
we are all here for you whenever you need us, wishing you as peaceful a time as possible as your baby girls due date approaches :sadflwr: xx

Hello ladies, I hope you do not mind if I jump in! I am new, not new here. I was on the site for a short while after we discovered we were pregnant with #4 surprise baby. We have 4 boys, 7, 5, 3, and 2. I have over the last year really been wanting to try for a 5th, DH is on the fence. He makes hints that he would want one, but will never come out and say it. He says if we could 100% know it was a girl he would do it in a heartbeat. He is an amazing husband and dad, I know we could handle 5. Anyway, we have hinted about trying agian, especially me, but I have not had the full heart to heart with him. We are on a dropping weight kick, so I decided to start the LE diet (2 weeks in), then in a month or 2 approach him about it. If he doesn't want to do it then no worries, at least I'll have dropped some weight. He does not like to wait so I want to do my best to sway if at all possible before I mention it, since I know if he agrees he will want to start right away. Looking through all these threads is a TRUE eye opener, I am 100% true blue boy mom in my lifestyle. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and be a part of this group if I can! :)

hi acaason27 :) i had 4 boys close in age too :D and have since had 2 girls, its amazing how many people find this site and are like now i know why i have boys/girls!! i was the same with my 4 boys and my 5th who was a girl so i swayed pink for number 6 last year and had another little girl <3 still cant quite believe it worked, i was so convinced my 5th baby was a fluke and that she would be on her own surrounded by boys!! but i was wrong and im back to sway pink again this year so we will see.. :) getting a good bit of time on diet is a really good idea especially if your husband will want to start straight away!! let us know how you get on :) fingers crossed your husband is on board when you do put the idea too him and hopefully you will get your little girl, its so nice to see someone else with 4 boys who are close in age, mine are 6,5,4 and nearly 3, i was that crazy lady with 4 kids under 4!! xx

Yeah I know what you mean. I think it won't become real for me until I see a bump. I don't have many symptoms yet either which makes me extremely anxious! I usually have sore boobs straight away, but not this time. I just feel really tired and need to pee a lot!

Don't stress about the symptoms. Last year I had soar boobs even before I was pregnant and now I still don't have soar boobs and I'm 9w3d with a good US last Friday. I know it's hard to stay positive but maybe it's good to focus on something else? That's what I try at least....And I'm also sooo tired :) (didn't have that last year).

Hi everyone, I will not begin swaying until Nov/Dec! I am swaying blue as I have two little girls already (5,3)! I am extremely nervous and am trying to slowly start swaying blue now, because I have a pretty typical LE diet with lots of cardio. But I am also running a marathon at beginning of Nov, so I can't slack too much on that. Nice to see support here, I know with fertility issues sometimes I feel so guilty wanting a particular sex!

girl 2011 (mid pregnancy loss)
boy 2011 (different pregnancy after the loss)
boy 2012
boy 2014
girl 2015
girl 2016 (successful GD sway)
i didnt sway for any of my children except my youngest but from being on this site i can clearly see why i had the 4 boys and then my youngest non-sway girl.
last time i did LE diet, one attempt and i also drank diet coke, i didnt do alcohol, coffee or exercise, it was a very laid back and easy to cope with sway which is exactly what i wanted.
this time i plan to keep things very similar, LE diet, one attempt and diet coke again but im weighing up weather or not to add alcohol and/or coffee.. im currently having one alcoholic drink at tea time and will carry that on as long as i can but im not a big fan if im honest!! im going to try coffee but im not sure il be able to drink the recommended 3-4 cups a day in which case i might just scrap it and go without like last time, i also wont be exercising again this time because i cant commit to it with 6 kids to look after.
i hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year and my fingers are crossed that everyone on here gets their desired pink or blue beans in 2017!! and look forward to hearing from any other fellow swayers who want to chat :)
im currently on day 2 of my LE diet and have started using opk's this month to try and get an idea of when to plan the 1 attempt for when we are ready, last time i got a positive opk on day 17 each month so im hoping this time it will be the same day each month again to make life easier!! Bring on round 2!! xx

Hi all! We are possibly going to start TTC in September/October. It seems like there just isn't a good time! We have fall weddings, vacations planned, and I'm struggling on timing. I got pregnant the first attempt with my two sons, so I don't feel like I'll have months and months to just 'wait and see.' Also, I'm still struggling over if I want a third. In my heart I do, but I'm afraid of the stress. Moms of 3+ how do you do it?? Good luck to everyone TTC soon!

Greydore I feel the same- my heart wants to try for my daughter but I worry about how I will cope with a) 3 children and b) another opposite.
Everyday I go back and forth-my mind is so full of what ifs!
Would love to hear from mums of 3+ too.
Good luck with your sway and fx for a lovely girl for your family!
we will be ttc same time as you and also have a holiday booked and a wedding where I will be bridesmaid at that time too.
Hoping with all that going on I will not have time to stress about my sway and everything will just fall into place xx

I haven't decided if I'm swaying yet ;) I would be perfectly pleased with another boy, so much that I'm pretty sure I'm just going to take my chances. We will be happy either way! Good luck to you as well :)

Hello, 4blue2pink! I was checking out success rates for past years when I came across this thread. I have 2 daughters and always wanted a boy. I first came across this website when i was (get this) trying to look up reasons online to convince myself NOT to have another child, fearing i had no chance of ever getting a boy (but I wasnt ready to give up hope)... Now here i am a month later and almost 3 weeks into a blue sway! I admire you as a woman and a mother for tending to so many children! That's amazing and I wish I had your patients. I wish you luck with your pink sway, I'm always up for friendly conversation if you find yourself looking. Sending you pink dust!

Sorry to jump in, but these are my feelings exactly! I fear I wont be able to be the mother I want to be if I get overwhelmed with 3 children. However, I decided to go for it, realizing that I won't be adding a baby to my 1.5 and 3.5 year old household, for the fact that by the time I conceive and carry another baby, I will have at least a 2.5 and 4.5 year old (preschool age) and that takes some of the stress away I'm sure! I think we get so caught up in baby fever that we often forget how much would change in the time span of, perhaps, just 1 year. I also tell myself I know I will never regret a child, but I know if I decide against a third, I will always wonder if I gave up my son.

After reading girl swaying tips I can say it sure does sum up my typical lifestyle. Not 1 factor that points boy for either one of my girls, so I have high hopes for this! :)
Thank you so much! I hope you get a little girl. I can't speak from an expert swayers stand point, but feel free to ask me anything as well because I know how my girls came about :)

Thankyou Ttcblue18 thats such a kind thing to say <3 its amazing how many of us find this site and after reading through can see exactly why we have our boys or our girls!! if your blue sway is very different from what you were like when you got your girls then i think your in a really strong place :) feel free to ask any questions and best of luck with your sway, my fingers are crossed for you! keep us updated :) **Blue Dust** xx
just to add into the 3rd baby discussion, i completely agree with what has already been said, that you never regret a child and i also think that if you dont feel complete or "done" then you probably arent!
going from 2-3 kids is an adjustment and yes there will be hard days/weeks! but they arent sleep averse babies or temperamental toddlers forever, the hardest years are the earliest ones especially if they are close in age where none of them can really help with tidying up their toys or really doing all that much for themselves etc so it ALL falls on you!! (personally speaking i had 3 under the age of 3) but like everything in life those times do pass :) my oldest 3 are now 7, 5 1/2 and 4 1/2 and they are a big help with the little ones and the tidying and my 7 year old is great with the hoover!! not to mention that they dress themselves, use the toilet and all that jazz which wasnt the case when number 3 was born!
i guess what im trying to say is that if i had stopped at number 3 my house would be a world away now from what it was like 4 years ago with a 3 year old, a 1 1/2 year old and a 6 month old!! seasons change and the hard times do pass :)
i honestly cant tell you the amount of older women-complete strangers in their 50's/60's that see me with the kids and out of the blue start telling me that they always wanted more kids or always wanted 1 more or always wanted 4 but stopped at 2 etc.. and looking back now that its too late they regret it.
i hope those of you struggling with this can come to a decision that is right for you and your families xx

I had 2 boys and almost went down the HT path but financially things changed and we had to settle for trying to sway, and now we have a healthy happy 9 month old daughter. The adjustment from 2 - 3 kids like everyone said takes some time and there will be some crappy days/weeks but as 4blue2pink said, the children get older and become helpful and grow a certain amount of independance making things easier in a way. I dont regret taking the leap for 3 kids at all, if anything, I am considering the idea of trying to sway for a 2nd daughter so my girls have each other to grow up with, just like my boys xx

Thank you so much, this is what I've been trying to explain to hubby, but he still doesn't want another child. He's being very cooperative and understanding though. After finding the site, he agreed to ttc for 3 full cycles as long as I was willing to put 100% into my sway (I think he wants a boy too but the thought of 3 kids scares him) and then well need to take a break and do some talking. If it was meant to be it will surely find a way.
Also I just wanted to say, all the encouragement and support I get from you ladis really does keep my spirit high, which is something I often have trouble with. So thank you so very much.

Yes my hubby has smoked since age 13, now 27.
I conceived my first daughter at age 19, and my second at 20. With both of them, I ate lots of candy and chocolate, ice cream-- anything sweet I could get my hands on, really. Id snack on sweets all day. I never ate breakfast and rarely ate lunch. Dinner was usually fast food and I LOVE coffee. I've been drinking a pot of coffee to myself every day since about the age of 15 (it helped me to eat less throughout the day). If I drank anything other than coffee, it was soda. I went back and forth between regular and diet depending on it I was trying to lose weight or not. Never cared for water. So as far as diet, I was not a very healthy person.
I never worked out, I've never been big on any form of exercise, but I was working on a farm from dawn to dusk when my first was conceived so I had lost weight just from being out of the house more and not eating junk all day.

Hey ladies, I have my first attempt coming up soon and I picked up some pre-seed. Does anyone who uses it have a suggestion of how much to use? I see some people say use the recommended amount and others say use just a little so it helps your natural fluid instead of taking over completely.

Thank you so much ttcblue all this info helps so much! Yes you were the quintessential girl mum!!!
I have never eaten like that in my life!
I'm not sure about the preseed but I know that I have always drunk a lot of water and tea and fruit juice for a treat ( I loved Ribena!) and never coffee or soft drinks and always had heaps of ewcm. Now I'm swaying and drinking diet coke, coffee, not so much water and on the minipill I have zero ewcm! Interesting isn't it?

Thank you! And I have made huge, huge changes, but as we get closers to attempt time I'm starting to get worried and anxious and thinking i may have to skip yet another month :worry:
Dh always drinks on the weekends, but now he has started drinking nearly every night with our 1st attempt a week away. Hi 4blue! I have been on it for around 2 months but as I'm only 6 months pp I've stuck to the upper limits. I have been vegetarian and skipping Bfast for 4 months now though so I've been easing into the girly lifestyle as the year progresses.
I'm starting exercise this month. DH is picking up my treadmill tonight so no excuse now haha. I've got 3 months now til our first attempt cycle so getting stricter from now on and definitely no more snacking. I think the minipill has definitely changed my body and the lower protein and fat intake combined with skipping Bfast and lots of coffee has made a huge difference.
I think that's a good sign about your Af time changing! It's interesting what the diet does to our cycles isn't it? I'm still waiting on ppaf but I'm curious to see when it does come if it changes from my usual early morning arrival- if it does I'll take it as a good sign!
How long til you find out what you are having? Fx so hard for another little girlie!

Oh ttcblue I feel your frustration there is nothing worse than wanting something so badly and feeling like others are sabotaging it! 4blue2pink: He doesn't want another baby at all, but eventually we came to the agreement to give me 3 months (2 attempts each month) and if it happens, it happens and if not, we wont have another baby. :( He has told me he would like to have a boy, but the thought of 3 children scares him. I asked atomic about the drinking because I didn't know either and I guess it's kind of a grey area. While it's known that alcohol sways pink, they are not sure if it's more important that I don't drink, or that neither of us does. I was already worried about his smoking and now he's bing drinking every night for nearly a week leading up to our attempt, you gotta be kidding me! But atomic says if I feel good about my sway otherwise, I should go for it.. so I guess I'm going to. I'd rather have another girl than no baby at all.
Kittendreams: omg that's great!!! You have no idea how much hearing that helps to lift the weight of my anxiety. My hubby drinks beer too! When we got our girls he was smoking Marijuana, and after my second daughter (nearly 2 years ago) I demanded he quit because I didn't want my children raised in a household with any form of illegal substances. He quit, but that's when he began drinking. Only a couple nights a week usually (until the past few days that is), but yes, he still smokes cigarettes. :/

I'm not sure about the supplements atomic is best to ask about that just thought I'd share what Dh took to get ds1 in case it's suitable for you.
I keep thinking about you and worried about you feeling defeated because I read that feeling defeated Is bad for a boy sway.
So to lift you up I thought I'd share my sisters experience as it may also help you feel more confident.
She has 4 boys, 1 girl. The only girl was from b/g twin and they were conceived 4 months pp before first ppaf she was 38 and missed a couple of minipills due to gastro so she did get a girl but she got a boy too!
Anyway she has 4 boys to 3 different fathers every single dad was older smoked drank daily and had lots of girls to other women! But she still made boys! So it must be down to her right? What does she do? Eat! Very regularly very healthily never uses contraception ( except that once on minipill lol) had very high sex drive drinks moderately and does very moderate exercise I'm talking water aerobics once a week lol! Always has a bit of extra meat on her. She has to eat every 2 hours or she get hangry!!! It's seriously scary!
She had even lost weight with the last boy, was 42 and smoking a little all with a dad who smokes like a chimney drinks beer every night and has 3 girls to his ex! but still had a boy!
So it really can come down to you! you can do this!!!

You are so kind to genuinely care so much. I also have read that the defeated feeling causes (testosterone I think it is?) To drop, which is not good for ttc a boy, so I try to keep my hopes high and stay confident that what I'm doing is enough. Today I actually made two lists, one of which is all the things that we did before and during the time we got our girls (that are said to sway girl) that we have now changed for our boy sway, and the other was a list of things we currently do that are said to sway girl. This made me feel a great deal better, and with reading about others who have gotten their boys, even with a hubby who smokes and drinks, I think I can honestly say, I feel that I do still have a good chance. The objective of swaying is to have more boy factors to outweigh the girl factors, right? Like a lot of people have never heard of swaying so must have factors from both sides from their natural routine.

Yes! That's exactly right-we all do boy and girl sway tactics everyday, it's impossible to be just completely boy or girl friendly all the time but you just have to move more towards the blue lifestyle which you are.
My DH has always drunk every night like I said, and he was even smoking a little when we got ds2 even while I was swaying for a girl lol so you are always in for chance of a boy xx
Dh is smoking more now ( I hate it but I'm letting him get away with it at the moment) so I am hoping it sways girl for us this time.
Just wondering did your Dh drink energy drinks when you had your dds?

He takes fish oil, mens one a day multivitamin and a probiotic. Do you think this should be sufficient?? He started them a couple months ago..
Awesome these all sound very similar to what Dh took! He's definitely not taking them now lol!

And btw making lists is perfect boy mum behaviour! I used to make lists about the lists I needed to make lol! Not anymore though- I don't even write shopping lists anymore and it renders me completely useless at the shops but I'm willing to do it to get a girl haha!

Great!! I guess my hormonal body is learning to react like a boy mom! :) lol I've been making so many lists lately in regards to babies and swaying!
Actually my dh has never liked coffee or energy drinks, but he loves his soda! Where we live, there is a soda called ski (it's manufactured in our town and doesnt really make its way farther than our county really). When we concieved our girls dh was drinking 3x 44oz ski sodas every day! After having random heart papilations, his doctor said to drop it. Reason being, he said most soda has less caffeine than coffee, but ski has 5x the amount of caffeine as coffee! So I guess you could consider this the same boat as an energy drink! He then switched to having 1x 44oz Pepsi daily (this took place after the birth of our 2nd daughter). Thank you for bringing yet another good change to my attention! :)

Right, and of course I'm happy to help you in any way I can :) When will you actively start ttc, or are you already?

Fx so hard for another little girlie!
easing into it is such a good idea i think :) that way by the time your attempts start itll be like second nature too you to eat that way and you dont really have to think about it any more! yes im convinced snacks are key for boy!! as long as you arent snacking your in a good place :)
the AF thing is weirdly interesting haha Atomic did a post where she said she see's a trend of blue swayers having it usually arrive at night, then messaging her because they woke up to it first thing in the morning while swaying!! and pink swayers typically have it arrive in the morning and see it switch to later on.. this isnt a make or break thing though i dont think mine changed with my first sway which was successful :) i think its just a sign that things in your body are changing which is always positive! many pink swayers report less body hair (usually facial and erm nipple :-/ ) while blue swayers complain of extra hairs in those areas!!
aww thankyou so much <3 im not sure what we are doing re finding out gender, i could do NIPT anytime from now but it is expensive.. then there's gender scans from 16 weeks or possibly waiting, with my youngest sway baby i was team green till scan at 37 weeks, ill keep you updated on what we decide to do xx

Ttcblue hubby taking those supps is good! :) mine never has!
a friend of mine has 2 boys (her husband has a girl from prev marriage) both of them smoke, her dh smokes alot! she also smoked while ttc and they both drink, her DS1 was conceived right after new year and she said she had been drinking loads over xmas/new year, she also has a blocked Fallopian tube so her fertility is compromised yet she still got boys! diet wise she is more HE (meals with snacks between) she never diets or goes long between eating and she also drinks coffee daily!! just wanted to give you this as another example of someone who got boys with dh AND dw smoking and drinking!!
lists are good too haha they are part of the control-freak boy mum/pink swayer personality that i cant relate too as ive never been like that :-/ dont think ive ever written a list in my life! i honestly think my boys came purely from snacking/stable blood sugar and frequent BD which is why i really plug those things for blue!! dont lose faith you are SO SO SO much more boy friendly now than you were with either of your girls :D xx

Thank you so much 4blue2pink!
This is true, like a whole new life to me!
With all these changes, do you personally feel that it outweighs his smoking and drinking, or should I probably skip this month and ask him to limit his drinking before we start actively ttc?
Everyone seems to think it's silly to worry so much about this, but I'm just such a worry wart. Im so confused about how much this will affect the sway, and I don't know if things could be any different next month if I did put it off. This is such a stressful decision for me but the more I hear from others the more I think I'm overreacting. Lol

no worries :) if i can help in any way then i will
i dont think his drinking is a huge issue to be honest, it may not be *ideal* but when you think about it loads of men drink regularly and still have boys, i think its what goes on in your body that matters more, in that you are the one who has to grow the baby and feed it so its your body that knows which gender has the best chance of survival due to all the environmental cues its getting, which through swaying you have made as boy friendly as possible :)
personally with my 2 sways i wanted to go into the actual TTC bit happy with my sway and everything i had done, of course there are always doubts here and there! but overall both last time and this time i knew my diet was solid and i was happy with the length of time on it etc and then i made sure we only got 1 bd attempt in and then i knew id done everything i could.
if you get pregnant now weather baby is a girl or a boy i hope that youd still feel that what you did and the changes you've made are a really solid sway, dh's habits will worry you, like i said everyone has doubts especially after bfp! but if you can see past the doubts and say "i did what i could and im happy with MY sway" and its just dh's habits holding you back then id go for it.
if you have doubts about anything YOU are doing (diet, supps, exercise etc) then id wait to get those things where i want them before going ahead. xx

Thank you! That's exactly how I feel. That I'm giving 100%, but I just worry so much about his end. I've always been a perfectionist and it's almost like I have to have every single swaying factor pointing in the boy direction or I get scared and want to bail on the attempt.
With swaying though I do wonder why anything that reduces sperm count is said to sway girl.. I picture an equal amount of XX and XY sperm and if that number is reduced, it makes since that it would reduce both genders (or is XX still said to be more resilient?) So there's still an equal number of each gender and therefore the XY still have the same chances they had before, so why does reduced count sway pink? Why does high sperm count sway blue? I don't know if you know the answers to that or not, but just sharing my thoughts.
Your opinion as well as all the other ladies have me feeling so confident again :)

Ttcblue you asked a quite a few posts back about preseed and how much to use and I didn't see an answer as I flicked through. So just in case I'll input here :) Be wary how much preseed you use as a little goes a looooooong way. I ended up only inserting maybe 1cm worth using the applicator.. any more than that and dh would lose sensation and on a couple occasions when I did use too much he couldn't finish. So we'd have to wait for it to 'absorb' into my body and try again later. If possible have a practice bd with it prior to your actual attempts so you can gauge whether you need more/less or if what you use is perfect :)

Thank you so much for this! I'll try a cm in the applicator and see how that works for us :)
