Ya I just saw ergo 360 on amazon. I m not skinny myself and my dd was a big girl and I m sure the second one will be big too. Would money be good for big mommy and big baby?

Moby is lovely also it's just a huge piece of cloth you can wrap different ways. It's much cheaper than the ergo I found one on eBay for $15

Ash- Boppy was $24.

I dislike the ergo 360. The lillebaby is SO much more comfortable! I had an ergo original that I wore out and liked. My neighbor has tons of carriers I got to try out- Tula, boba, beco, kanga, lillebaby, ergo, Mai Tais, and slings.

Lillebaby by far was the most comfortable and required no insert for 7-15lbs. It can be worn 4 different ways! You can adjust the height of the seat base, which is really cool! You can wear the shoulder straps like a back pack or criss-crossed and it has lumbar support! Bonus- it doesn't cause unsightly back fat! Baby wearers, you know what I mean [emoji6][emoji12]!

I've had an energy boost lately and have been making more of my skincare products! I have been making some new additions! I love my new body oil I've made! I made a nipple butter, body lotion, and 3 face serums/light lotions with cosmetic actives (pregnancy safe of course [emoji6])! I want to make a whipped body butter and a diaper balm with zinc oxide! I hope to have these few formulations down before the baby comes. I want to start an online shop and have a stand at my local farmers market in a year or two. I'm waiting for my DH to complete his doctorate first. I already sell to family, friends, and colleagues!

The 360 is a tad better than the original ergo, but not by much. Instead of causing love handles, it causes a muffin top until you tone up! Not cute!! Both the Lillebaby, the beco Gemini, and beco 8 were much better at not causing it!

Oh, and I preferred the Lillebaby Complete All seasons to the airflow or embossed. I felt that the fabric was softer for little ones. If you live in a warm climate, the Air flow would be my top pick.

My diaper balm would be good without the zinc oxide. I would include a skin safe oil solubilizer that wouldn't cause it to adhere to the fabric and rinse clean when washed. It's called Cromollient SCE and imparts nice emollience. I don't like to use any polysorbates. I use Cromollient SCE in my facial cleansing oils and body polish! No slipping in the tub!!

I have a mai tia wrap and one like the moby that I made myself. It is just a long piece of fabric that wraps many different ways. I am cheap and don't pay much for mine. :) I baby wear all the time in the beginning because I need my hands with the 2yo. And it seems like I always have a 2yo and a newborn. :) All my boys like to run at the most inopportune times.

So I have to just say something here. I know why I have boys. I was reading some of the blue sway stuff and realized I eat so boy friendly. So I have to ask, those that swayed blue, do you really only eat one cookie at a sitting? Or 4 crackers? Or 4 dried apricots? as a snack?
The only time I eat one cookie is because I shove it in my mouth while cooking dinner or doing something else and I am trying to hide it from the kids. :D Seriously. I will eat half a box of crackers without even realizing it while watching TV. And my usual is eating all day long. I will snack on stuff while looking for my snack. :D
So the all boys thing for me is totally the way I eat. Oh and our BD pattern of all the time. :)
So crazy to me. Just had to share somewhere that people would understand.

[emoji23] (or maybe I'm just being a baby) I know it's bad to get Bfp before having 12 weeks under your belt but I honestly would not have survived long and stick with the diet if I didn't get my Bfp as fast as I did

I'm going to have to check out some of these deals all of you are talking about!!
Nacire-that's an interesting one to try, have not tried that way. I did use a strand of my hair & just had DH hold it over my belly.
Ash-I have the zulily app too...does not help the shopping issues haha. I've watched a bunch of those shows too, love anything baby! I've been wanting to watch the show sky mentioned, but I'd have to watch it on my phone on YouTube & then I can't check in with all of you lol. Wish I could get it on demand! There's another show I plan to watch that already has 1 season & season 2 is starting this week I think? It's called "Rattled" and follows several couples dealing with new parenthood! I just watched Marley & Me tonight & it's been awhile since I've watched it...so didn't remember all the details. Never realized the family has 2 boys first, then a girl!! [emoji170][emoji170][emoji175]Can def relate to some of the funny scenes in the movie like praying that the dog doesn't bark at a random noise & wake the kids up! Lol. However, do NOT recommend watching it while preggo-gahhh-tear jerker!!!
Kat-I def feel like my belly looks bloated...looks like I've been enjoying some pasta! Don't remember it looking like this so early on, BUT it is baby 3!

Shann the answer to your question from me at least is .... yes !
I can go 12 hours or more without eating a thing that's how i unfortunately trained my body to live through my crazy study and training/job life. So i felt like i was stuffing my self on the HE diet. I wasnt ever a big eater. Just 3 meals a day small portions and no sweets at ALL. We dont buy sweets or cook sweets at my house. Its all salty and very spicy cooking 😊

I don't eat massive amounts of food and I'm naturally thin and light weight (105 lbs) but I am a total snacker. I prefer to eat in small portions more often throughout the day than just a few big meals or even large portions. My caloric intake has never been that high but the quality of food I eat is high nutrition normally. The LE diet was hard for me but I got into the swing of it and became accustomed to being just about a vegetarian. I was on it for just about 9 weeks. There certainly isn't a perfect science to it.

I agree with the snacking swaying boy. I pretty much snacked all day. The only one I didn't snack with was my daughter. It was hard at first because I have a fast metabolism which is why I would snack. But before trying for my daughter i buckled down on everything and lost weight becasuse of it. And this time before getting pregnant I wasn't doing everything the same but I was eating only one meal a day and would have maybe 1 snack sometimes none. So we will see if it holds true for me this time.

Dreaming-very similar to you! I've always been a vegetarian and ate healthy foods, just not a lot of it...low fat, low cal, but ate small portions throughout the day. Salads, veggies, fruits, oatmeal, dry cereal...but cookies & chips sometimes too [emoji12](usually baked chips though). Skipping breakfast was the hardest!

Shannon - yes as a natural girl mom I can just eat one cookie [emoji51] I think waaay too much about what I eat - I actually like feeling a tad hungry and love the energy I get from caffeine/coffee so would drink it all morning. I've always eaten breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up so I'm surprised at all the girl swayers skipping breakfast. The HE diet was hard for me bc I felt full all the time. I do like red meat but only usually eat it once a week, but eating it everyday wasn't that hard for me. And I liked snacking before dinner, I just don't usually allow myself to. One of my concerns about my boy sway is I'd go from 7:30ish at night until 6/6:30 ish the next morning without eating and I don't know if that was too long. We just usually go to bed early 9ish and I just didn't/couldn't eat right before getting in bed.
Ash - I was thinking tonight as I was eating ice cream [emoji23] your aversion to sweets reminds me of my first 2 pregnancies. I have a bad sweet tooth but they made me sick on both my girl pregnancies. This one could be a girl too obviously but I'm liking sweets[emoji12]

snacking is key for boys imo, i hardly ever ate meals when i had my boys but just picked at food here and there starting from dinner time, i havnt eaten breakfast since i was about 8 years old cant stand eating first thing in the morning.

Hope everyone is well! I'm trying to keep up with this thread and the TTC thread and struggling a bit.

I saw my ob today and I'm only 4.5 weeks and he scanned on the outside (reassuring me that he wouldn't see anything), but he did see the sac. Didn't bother with an internal, but I'm going back in two weeks. My HCG has been:

14dpo: 277
16dpo: 832

Do you think these levels are high? Does anyone beleive in high HCG meaning girl?
I'm thinking boy now, as I have two boys and the reason I went to the ob today was because I had a D&C last cycle for a blighted ovum. The cells showed it was a boy.

momoffourboyz

If you type in high hcg related to gender studies you will find a bunch of different studies that have found higher hcg in more pregnancies resulting in female then male. But it's not 100% of the time that it happens that way though. Higher hcg usually causes more severe morning sickness to. Not always but studies have shown a correlation. I also found many studies on this as well. It may be an old wives tale but there is some scientific proof to back it up anyway even if it isn't always 100% of the time.

XXforhubby

I had CRAZY high HCG levels with my DS3. My Beta at 21dpo was 23,000 and something!!! They were convinced I was off on my dates (I wasn't!!) or we had multiples (we didn't!!). I was SO sick! I had a scan 1.5 weeks later due to spotting and there was only one baby and one sac!!

This pregnancy started off as twins with high HCG levels- not near as high as with my DS3, and we are having a girl.

We lived in Baton Rouge, LA for a while for dh work and we met a lovely couple there and their daughters name was Mila and I recently told the husband we've always held onto the name Mila since our stay in LA it would just remind us of the lovely time and friends we have there. And he said well actually it's spelled Milla after the actress Milla Jovovich. So that's how they spell theirs but I figure it still has the same meaning to us no matter how we spell it

After I had my son Jayden for some reason my husband's sister started calling him jada-bug when he was a toddler. Then everyone started calling him this besides us of course. But yes it is so annoying. It's like he's my child and I didn't call him Jayden to have a nick name that sounds kind of like a girly nick name. Jada- bug sounds girly to me. Thankfully they stopped before he truly understood it but it was still very annoying.
Of course when we had our first son Zachary my husbands uncle said why would anyone name their child that. Oh that made me mad. It's like hello I am not saying that about your kids names, and also we are the parents not you so what does their name concern you for.

Hi everyone! I just want to share that we announced to our extended family and I couldn't be more proud. Everyone I thought would make snide comments were genuinely thrilled and loving. I have to say I really think waiting to tell everyone until after knowing gender totally eliminated expectations or opinions. I'm so glad we did it this way.

And Ash - I love Mila, Meila, Milla, Milah or however way YOU want to spell it.

XX i went to school with a few girls called Honor its beautiful :) ive never heard Olivien before but i like it alot <3

Ash Estelle is gorgeous it doesnt want shortening to anything!! and Mila (mee-la) is beautiful too

i find girls names so so hard!! both my living girls have quite unusual nature names so im more drawn to those but they are hard to find to begin with and even harder to find ones we both agree on. it took us 2 days to name the first after she was born and 5 weeks to name the second!! argh!! there is no way im having a nameless baby in the house for 5 weeks again this time!!

Lola id love an "S" name if we have a girl this time (promise i wont steal Sophia!!) and i think limiting to 1 letter may be a wise move for us after last time!! i love Sierra (very similar to my name), Sistine, Saffron and Serafina though im sure dh will reject them all because he loves to be awkward like that haha!

4blue2pink-pretty S names! I also love Savannah & Sienna. I had a coworker with the name Spenncer, which I thought was unique, but cool for a female. And you are welcome to Sophia lol...much diff using a name you see on here than IRL. I mean what are the chances and how annoying that a family member with the same last name would take our name. I cringe every time I see a post about it on Facebook! She recently posted "Sophia, we're waiting on you." Then it's even worse when I read the comments...some our family members such as "love her name" or even just seeing it "we can't wait to meet you Sophia." Jealous much...on my part lol.

Lola - sorry that your girl name has been thrown in your face lately :( That is why I do NOT share my names with anyone. Even my mother who I am very close with. She will talk names with my, but I usually do not tell her what is on my list. She will just make suggestions and could care less what we actually call the baby. She has her own nicknames for them anyway. I don't care. We have been lucky and everyone calls our boys by the nicknames that we have given them, so it has not been an issue with us. Sorry some of you have nicknames that bother you when people call your kids them.

Ash - Honestly, where is your family getting Stella from Estelle? If it was Estella, I could see it. Weird. I love the names you have picked and hope you get to use one of them.

4b2p - I know here in Idaho, you have to have a name before leaving the hospital and the birth is recorded by them. So we have to have a name pretty quick. I am not sure how it works with a home birth.

Shan I have no idea where they're getting Stella because the name is Estelle I think they do it just to annoy me. Our family has been together a lot lately since my grandpa is about to pass and when I walked up last night one uncle looked at me and said "you want a girl so bad you can't stand it" [emoji52] I have no words. They think just because I love having a big family and keep having kids I'm only having them to get a girl not because I love my babies.

Ugh so annoying [emoji849]. Hang in there! I think people sometimes don't quite understand why someone would want/have a large family. I've put a few people in there place when they say that we can be done having kids now that we have a girl. I always respond by saying each and every one of my kids was planned. There is only one way to guarantee having a child of a specific gender. Shuts them right up every time! It's true! I planned on having every one of my children!!

Haha Kat re: Sienna minivan ;) Ash's video below is good! I just did searches on youtube & watched a bunch of random videos. I tried it with a full bladder last night & still couldn't find it yet. I worried that it might make me more anxious not being able to find it...and it already has me thinking, "hmm it's been so long since my U/S, hope all is well!!!"
4blue2pink-it's DH's brother's wife, so our babies will even have the same last name, but luckily different middle names. I know DH's bro knew our names, but not certain he ever discussed it with his wife. He's not a talkative guy! It is rather coincidental though...seems like he would've remembered!
Shann-one would think that by sharing the names that they would be off limits! However, I'm starting to believe that it makes the name more appealing to others ughh. Or maybe it just puts the idea in their subconscious & they don't even realize they're stealing the name. OR they figure "they don't have a girl & we like their girl name"...
Ugh, I'm going to be so sad if I don't get my Sophia & then have to see hers posted all over FB. It would remind me of the Sophia I never got *sigh* Isn't that petty of me...just a name...yet it's so meaningful to me. Ok, I really need to start thinking positive thoughts again & believe it IS possible! Dreams do come true [emoji175][emoji166]

I feel you ladies and Im not even pregnant yet. Last pregnancy we told everyone around 10 weeks and my sister automatically invited herself to the gender ultrasound (it was hard to say otherwise as she was helping us with minding our boys at that time- my DH was quite upset with me understandably as it was meant to be me and him). We also had alot of comments as this was baby no5 and the ohhh are you trying for a girl, do you hope its a girl, you'll need a bus soon, don't you have a TV etc etc..

I have told DH this time that Im waiting until we know the gender to tell anyone and id like to keep the gender to ourselves tbh. This won't be til around the 18 week mark and he seems to think its because i feel ashamed. I have told him though its for my own sanity. Im already getting in the mindset now this is our last baby whatever the gender is. I want to be able to enjoy the gender ultrasound with my DH and process whatever will be in my own time (im totally expecting to hear boy) and id rather do that without family breathing down my neck about it.

I have actually distanced myself from alot of family due to their comments, remarks and continued nagging about if im pregnant yet, if we will be trying again for a girl. My MIL doesn't say anything though as she has 3 boys so understands.

I have a very old diaper champ. I love it because I use reg grocery sacks for the diapers and don't have to buy special inserts. But I seem to be in the minority over these. I think I will need a new one this time as it is not containing he smells at all anymore. But, it is 12 years old. So it has served us well.

I love my hospital and I love my stay there lol I'm a weird one! My insurance requires me to stay 48 hours and I'm perfectly ok with that but with 2 of my babies I've had to stay a week because of their complications and one baby was 2 weeks. I do get a little anxious towards the end!
Diaper pail I have a genie and I've always wished I had a champ that takes regular bags!
On another note my grandpa didn't make it until I found out gender [emoji20] he passed away this afternoon with all my kids and all his grandkids here and I wasn't here yet. So my babies got to experience death today which will be a first for them. But my wonderful hubby quit a busy workday to come take all the kids back to our house so they didn't have to stay. I am truly blessed

wow you have long admission times!! can you guys not ask to leave hospital earlier? sign a discharge form and then go? and i say 6 hours.. that is the standard guideline but ive known plenty of people be out in 3-4 hours for a normal birth.
id be so frustrated stick in the hospital its one of the reasons ive always had homebirths

But I have had issues with my epidural the last couple times and I've been thinking about doing a natural birth this time. Do you have any tips? 4blue2pink its a bath tub but the water jets are soothing for after. Our hospitals dont do water births.

I tried asking to go early but no luck. Its would be considered and an AMA discharge or against medical advice. Anyway they make sure bleeding wise, feeding and newborn jaundice and such are good b4 they send u home.

Only 8 days now Ash 😮 that has gone insanely fast!!!! I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa. How are the boys doing? They are very brave ❤

Srg you look amazing and all baby!!

Xxforhubby I'm due for a catch up on your thread and am looking forward to seeing your bump!

Sky great to hear from you and hope you turn a corner with the sickness soon ❤ look forward to hearing how your appt goes!

Iwant4kids yay for 5 weeks! Have fun picking up your mummy van today! It's so exciting!

Lola I'm sure bubs heartbeat will be easier to find in the coming weeks. Maybe take your doppler to your next appt and see if your ob can find the best way to use it? I would've loved a doppler but fear I would go into panic mode too often if I don't hear be heartbeat 😕

4blue2pink I find it amazing you've had all home births 😮 it definately is not the norm here that I know of! I had a fantastic stay in my hospital especially ds2 as I went private for him. I stayed just 2 nights from memory as I felt so good and just wanted to go home but I had the option of staying 5 nights.

Bluebooties I dont use diaper pails so I'm no help there 😕 I still find it strange they don't do a nuchal scan where you are whether you are considered low risk or not. Here they do a blood test (unless you already getting NIPT) as well as the nuchal scan.

Shann is that your cat in your profile picture? I always think Russian Blue when I see it 😂

Hope all you other ladies are doing well xxoo I've just posted about what I've read the last few pages 😉

I'm laying in bed at 8am waiting for my boys to wake up still. Let them stay up latee last night as its Saturday morning hooray!!

I'll have another planned c-section, so I typically stay 2 days. It's a teaching hospital so often a group of students will come in with the dr and take turns asking questions. Or I'll have the resident come in first and then the OB will come in and ask the same questions! I don't mind b/c it's the university where I was once a student too. I def don't get much rest though with people always popping in! With DS2, I was ready to go home, but was very anemic...almost needed a blood transfusion & had to wait until they were ok with my iron levels!

ash if you want a natural birth then go for it :) if you have the option of a pool then i would take it up, you can always get out if you dont like it!! by issues do you mean that your epidural didnt fully work? i imagine that is very unpleasant being partially numb and unable to move around to ease what you can feel :-/

pbn homebirths are really normal here in the UK they are offered in every area :) we also have hospitals (obviously haha) and birth centers so there is quite a bit of choice!

ash thats so funny :) you can totally rock a natural birth if its what you want :) ask what other pain med options they have and talk it through with them see what they suggest! it may be that they approach a non-epidural birth very differently, keeping the room calmer/quieter/low lights/use of the pool of you want it etc.. its worth knowing your options if the epidural hasn't been the best fit for you in the past

plus its your 5th baby and you've had 4 normal deliveries already.. baby's gonna be out in like 2.4 seconds ;)

Ash- How big are your babies usually? How many weeks do you typically go into labor at? All my babies were bigger except my daughter she was 7 pounds. My first son was 8 pounds 13 ounces he was the biggest and that was the most painful of all my deliveries. I will say that no matter the size of the baby they all hurt but if you can walk through the contractions or sit on a birthing ball that helps a lot and try to breath as calmly as you can when you have contractions it really helps. Also have your husband rub your back where it hurts. And definitely the worst type of delivery pain for me was having to lay in bed to push them out. With my daughter I was allowed to be on my hands and knees and it was by far the least painful quickest and easiest delivery of them all. I definitely prefer no epidural the recovery for me anyway is way quicker. When it gets really painful you are almost there and they come out quickly. My daughter took 2 pushes and she was out. And the labor lasted about 5-6 hours total from beginning of contractions to her being out. Since this is your 5th child it should go quickly.

Thanks for the tips! Maybe I can do it mine usually come out with a couple pushes also.
Lola yes I am having to start weekly progesterone shots next visit and they're supposed to help you not have contractions. I will take them from 16w-36w. aww ash they are dinky :) mine have been a bit of a mixed bag weight-wise,

number 1 40 weeks 6lbs 8oz
number 2 39 weeks 5lbs 15oz (suspected IUGR)
number 3 39 weeks 7lbs 15oz
number 4 40 weeks 7lbs 2oz
number 5 40 weeks 7lbs 14oz
number 6 40 weeks 7lbs 14oz

oddly both my girls were the same weight.
bigger baby honestly doesnt equal more pain, fingers crossed this one stays in a while longer for you :) i reckon if you go to 39/40 weeks youd be looking at about 7lbs

Momoffourboyz I do think I have to labor in the bed no matter if I go natural or not. I'm sure they offered me the birthing tub then said well when you get ready to push you'll have to go to the bed. My first thought was "walk to the bed when it's time to push" sounded painful so I passed all together.
Lola my thoughts exactly id rather spend on a girl! Which is why I wasn't to happy about the $375 I have to spend on shots.
4blue2pink I love my tiny little cuddly babies but they're not healthy so I would like to shoot for a bigger one this time so maybe we can bypass the jaundice and eating issues and keeping body temp up problems.

Afm this week I have puked every morning [emoji51] and ds4 woke up at 2am and guess what I puked [emoji20] the nausea and puking is getting out of hand and if it keeps up until my 16 week visit I'm going to ask for meds even though I've not lost weight I'm afraid I could throw my back out again puking. We have 6 days until gender scan I'm soooo excited!! I think this week will fly by we have a visitation today funeral tomorrow and will be at my grandmas all day both days. And tues wed hubby will be working and gone both days Thursday Friday we go to the pool and everyday ds1 has violin camp! And I'll have to find time in between all this to do laundry which I'm slacking majorly and pack for ds1 departure to Florida Sunday! What a week [emoji15] ...... and the throw up came again 2am didn't take place on my morning toilet greeting! If I am having a girl I honestly will believe sickness difference is a real thing!

for what its worth ive had symptoms with my girls that i never had with any of my boys, i know everyone says symptoms dont tell anything but i do think its odd that i had 4 boy pregnancies without this list of symptoms then 2 girl pregnancies with them all!

hope your feeling better soon and so exciting your so close to your gender scan!! :D

Hang in there Ash! My MS was much worse this time around. I lost so much weight from being super nauseous and puking. I STILL get nauseous at the end of the day and gag when brushing my teeth at night! I puked twice last week while brushing my teeth both times [emoji15]! Maybe ask for medicine, although nothing they prescribed or recommended helped me [emoji849].

My DS1 & DS2 pregnancies were night & day symptom wise! I was so sick for 15 weeks with DS1 with terrible food aversions & throwing up. DS2-barely sick! My pregnancy now is between the 2 this time around. I'd like to think the symptoms hold true for some, but maybe not for everyone lol. My good friend had a girl & had the easiest pregnancy w/no sickness at all! Then you look at Duchess Kate (& William) and she was super sick in the hospital with HG for both her boy & girl. I'd like to think that every pregnancy is unique. I do hope sooo much that all this throwing up will pay off with it being your baby girl! After your U/S tech's guess, there is an awesome chance & fx it becomes reality [emoji175][emoji166]

XX & 4blue2pink-with DS1, I hated brushing my teeth, couldn't chew gum & then taking my prenatals blehhhh! Liquids were hard to drink, even water. Lost weight & people were starting to notice, but hadn't announced my pregnancy yet. I remember once the news what out, one of my coworker's mentioned "I noticed you were looking extra thin & wondered if something was going on" lol. I would go to grocery store & was at a loss for what to eat. Lived on soup, noodles & ravioli haha.

Lola hopefully since you have an in house gender specialist it'll only take a week! Do they have to send off for results or does it all stay in house? I haven't surprisingly gotten my hopes up with her guess she did a wonderful job of talking me down and I haven't felt like it was "for real" but since that didn't get me terribly excited I'm afraid of what my reaction will be either way when I hear boy/girl at the gender scan. I feel like I'm a cold hearted person with no emotion [emoji23].
Xx thanks that's why I haven't asked yet I'm not convinced it'll help plus I HATE taking medicine! Yuck.
4blue2pink we had to do that also with ds4. Ds3 was with a feeding tube for a week and I'm a hard core breastfeeder so that was tough for me but we got through it and back to breast a few weeks later. Although I like my hospital stay I would like much more this time to have a baby that eats, doesn't have jaundice, and gets to be released in a couple days. That'd be a first for me.

Ash-I believe that the lab is onsite as well! I got the results back pretty quickly for my 1st appt bw! I switched offices (my OB goes to both) & it seems to be quicker! Awesome that they have the in-house genetics guy, the other office doesn't. Everyone delivers downtown at the university hospital, but they have about 5 women's clinics at various locations. My dad also works at the hospital, so he gets me the special treatment haha. I'm sure everyone receives excellent care, but great to know he's looking out for me [emoji173]

lola im trying to put the prenatals out my mind :-/ its been an absolute battle to swallow them with every baby, thankfully im past the gagging issue by the time i start my iron tablets at 32(ish) weeks! could you have your gender results in 1-2 weeks? :) so exciting!!

ash did they have you express for DS3 so they could put it through the tube? i found syringe feeding a nightmare it took forever to hand express enough to fill up a tiny 1-2mls in the syringe and then try to feed him it without him just spitting it all out, it meant even less sleep too because each "feed" was such a performance!
i completely understand you wanting to avoid all that this time around and fingers crossed you will :) have you had the shots your having this time with any of the others or is this a new thing?

Ash - I can't believe you've been so sick!! And your going going going still. I actually think diclegis is a lifesaver, but I have low blood pressure and I think XX mentioned it can be bad if you have high blood pressure. Not sure if you do, just wanted to mention.
I sold all my maternity clothes too but bought some used ones from a friend and they are sooo much cuter. I'm so excited to wear them [emoji23]
I also just bought a used solly wrap too, just washed and I'm going to practice as soon as it dries. I think I want a lily one like XX suggested too. And I kinda want one of the shirts that you just skip baby in too for the first couple months bc it looks so easy. I better start saving my pennies [emoji23]
So excited for y'all finding out soon! We told our girls today bc we've really been bad about keeping this secret and our oldest was ecstatic and our 3 year old didn't understand! Our oldest (6) screamed then goes what do you call a 3 hump camel? Pregnant just like Mommy[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] I LOVE her! Then she asked if she could tell her friends. We didn't bother saying no bc she will anyways. She said she'll make them pinky promise to not tell, again [emoji23]

The thing about Diclegis is anyone who takes it needs to keep an eye on their blood pressure. It can cause anyone to develop elevated/high blood pressure due to the anticholinergic portion of the drug (aka. Unisom). My blood pressure was normal prior to taking it- 100-115/55-65 and after taking it for 1 week my blood pressure rose to 135-145/85-95. When I stopped taking it, my blood pressure returned to normal. The same can happen with Allegra. While it is not a true anticholinergic, it behaves like one. Zyrtec, Benadryl, Chlorpheniramine, and Claritin are better choices.

Just keep an eye on that blood pressure while taking it will be enough. Some people are not sensitive to anticholinergics and some are. It also depends if you are in the second and third trimesters as well.

Sorry for the long post- I just wanted to clarify the potential concern with Diclegis.

4blue2pink yes for ds3 I was pumping and they'd put it in his gavage tube but the pediatrician at the hospital that week made me mix it with some sort of mix you'd normally put into formula to make him gain weight. It was a mess. Then for ds4 they did away with that dr at the hospital and there was a fabulous nurse practitioner who would just have me breastfeed as much as I could then she got a gavage (feeding tube) and connected it to a syringe. Then I would tape the tube to the end of my pinky finger and put my finger in his mouth and while he sucked I would slowly push the syringe so he didn't have to work so hard! That was a life changer so if we do have issues this time around and a not so modern dr. I will put my foot down and demand the supplies to do this again it worked fabulous. Easier than cup and syringe feeding

Kat keeping busy seems to keep my mind off of being sick if I just set at home it is a million times worse I think. Or maybe it's just that the time goes by faster if i keep myself busy and goes so so slow if I stay home. And I have low blood pressure also which is good in case I need it. Ahhh I seen those shirts somewhere Etsy maybe! There like the sweatshirts /hoodie things. I'm so glad you reminded me lol I need one to. I've never had a winter baby so this will be a first for me! But before with my others I put on my moby and zipped them up under my coat. [emoji23][emoji23] love the camel [emoji247] joke so cute!

Ash- I would ask for zofran from your doctor that is the only thing that somewhat helped me while pregnant with my daughter and now this one. You may still throw up occasionally but it's not as bad because it isn't full force throwing up. If you take it though you will want to keep on schedule and also it will probably cause some constipation, but since you are active this may not affect you. But the reason it works most of the time is that it inhibits some of the serotonin receptors in your stomach which seretonin is believed to cause your stomach to be extra sensitive to things and throw up especially while pregnant because of the increase in estrogen in your body, which increases serotonin production in your body. When I take zofran when i wake up within 10 minutes it starts to make me feel half way normal again. Also zofran shouldnt affect your blood pressure. It has really helped me because I was where I couldn't keep anything down not even water and I lost about 15 pounds in those weeks but when I kept on schedule with zofran I was able to eat enough food that I have gained a few pounds back now.

I am glad that the syringe feeding and then returning to breastfeeding worked for you guys. My daughter was so stubborn from the beginning she would get so mad she didn't like it she would get upset because it didn't come out quick enough. I ended up having to pump for 8 and a half months to give her my breast milk around the clock. It was hard because I breastfed all my boys with no problems. I ended up getting severely sick when she was 8 a half months. I had to be on antibiotics and my doctor said I had to stop breastfeeding her. By the time I was recovered I was dried up and had no choice but to put her on formula. I really hope breastfeeding goes well with this baby.

4blue2pink - we are most likely finding out. At first I didn't want to, but my husband did so I wasn't sure how that would work, but now I kinda want to know. The only reason I didn't at first was bc I didn't want to hear people's comments/reactions to a 3rd girl and hoped they'd be tamer if was she was born versus in utero but now I don't really care about people's comments. We will be excited either way, just maybe a tad more if we hear boy [emoji170] I'm not sure when I'll find out, definitely by the end of September when I'll be 20 weeks.

I really hope symptoms aren't related to gender because I'm having no symptoms, just like all my previous pregnancies with my boys.
We told both our families this weekend and everyone is already assuming it's a boy. It doesn't bother me actually, it's kinda reassuring that nobody is putting any pressure on me. I am just going along with everyone and saying I also expect to hear boy, even though I swayed and have some hope for a girl. Overall though I'd say it went well. Got much less of the gender comments than I anticipated. Everyone seemed more hung up at the idea of a 4th baby. Lol

Based on my experience I can tell you symptoms do not have anything to do with gender. I am expecting a girl after 3 boys and I don't have any symptoms at all so so this pregnancy is exactly the same as the ones of my boys.

Yay Lola for test results soon!

Blue - I'm jealous of no symptoms but I know it can be scary! Maybe this is making you realize you do want this 4th baby and maybe even get excited?!

Called my ob today because this sickness is getting out of hand. They basically just said unisom and b6. Dramamine or Benadryl and make sure I eat something small every 1.5hrs. If that doesn't help them we will talk something more. [emoji20] I have thrown up my breakfast today and 5 other times in the last 3 days and have had a massive headache every afternoon for the last three days. I've done/have been doing nothing different! And tomorrow I have to go suffer through a cookout with dh friends and kids when he won't even be there [emoji31][emoji31]. Ok whining over I'm better now

Ash if you're feeling sick tomorrow just cancel on the cookout! Your dh friends will understand. It's awful you're still so unwell and hope one of those suggestions they gave you helps xxoo Bring on anti nausea medication otherwise!!

I wish I could cancel but they've already rescheduled for us once and I feel bad. I'm trying to look at the bright side hopefully it'll make the evening fly by so I'll be one day closer to finding out what baby cakes is!

Ash-great news!!! I can't wait for Saturday!!! Sorry you're feeling so bad-I'd totally cancel, but like you said maybe it'll make time fly!!
Pbn-the specialist said calendar days, so that's counting weekend days too!!!! I could know as soon as soon as Tues eeeeek!!!!! It's going to be so hard to concentrate next week knowing I can find out any day by a simple phone call! Crazy!!!!

Calendar days 😀😀😀 omg Lola!! And yep you are totally going to be a space cadet for the next week 😂 how do you feel about finding out from one second to the next??!! I'd need it written on a bit of folded paper so I could start to open then close it a hundred times then eventually get it open enough to see what it says through my squinted eyes and half looking away head 😂😂😂

Lola - wonderful you are in the countdown now! Can't wait to hear!

Ash - so sorry you are so sick. I am still taking 1/2-1 Unisom a night. I tried to not take one the other night and woke up 3am sick as could be. :( So I am still taking it. Ugh. I feel for you.

MO4M - Sorry to hear that it was confirmed blue - but so happy that you have a healthy little boy on board! I know what it is like expecting boy #5. It can be overwhelming at times.

AFM - still the same, sick most mornings and just chugging along. We are having issues with our 6 yo. He is acting out like crazy. He has started throwing hour long temper tantrums in daycare and throwing shoes and today upended a table. I am at a loss of what to do with him. :( Any suggestions? Also, at home, the play room has a TV and we have instructed that certain shows are off limits. Well, every time we leave the room he turns on these off limits shows. So I took away the TV. He hooked it back up and started watching again. What should we be doing? It is getting so frustrating. Especially since the younger ones are being punished too because of the older one. :(

Pbn-it's such a weird feeling knowing that just a simple phone call will give me results & no turning back after that! Ignorance is bliss sometimes. I've been playing the scenarios over in my head thinking of my different reactions. Having it written on paper to look when I want is more ideal, BUT I don't want to be in suspense any longer, so I'm just going to let him tell me how it is!! Hearing all of the statistics for my age was unsettling, so praying for healthy first, then channeling all of the girlie pink vibes!!! The genetic specialist was very friendly & he made a statement that prompted me to talk about gender and I *may or may not* have told him that I swayed for this baby [emoji12] I never discuss it with anyone & especially not medical professionals, but we had an interesting convo about it! I'm pretty sure he thought I was nuts lol & he thinks it's all baloney, but he said at least I gave it my best shot. He told me that his sister has a body builder husband & have 3 girls, really wanted that boy! I told him that I believe it would have helped more if she was the body builder and a number of other factors in combination. I'm hoping that I'll prove it's not baloney & he can learn something new [emoji12]🤞🏻[emoji1374]

Shann-sorry you still aren't feeling well!! I barely know what to do with my 2 & 3 year old tantrums, so I am no help with a 6yr old tantrum! I would say, consistency is important & a lot of children are motivated more by rewards than punishment. He is old enough to understand rewards for good behavior & consequences for not behaving. If he has a good day for a full week, then maybe he could get a prize at the end of the week-something he really wants like a toy or going to the waterpark, out for ice cream etc. If a full week is too long of a stretch, maybe he needs a tangible reward each day he is good at daycare, maybe a sticker on a chart, then prize after 5 stickers at the end of the week. Just a thought, but I know that could be a challenge when you have 3 other kids in the picture who are behaving & I'm sure want rewards too...maybe it could be the whole family goes out for ice cream or the whole family goes to the water park etc as a reward. Ok, think I'm rambling lol sorry!!
