LMSM, so many hugs!!!! I would do anything to trade places with you, trust me. Just wanted to tell you that I know exactly what you're feeling. I'm constantly on the verge of tears, I'm always thinking of what I could have done differently in my sway, wondering what I could have adjusted, etc. I wake up all night long thinking about this and it just hurts. If you need to vent, trust me when I say that I understand. [emoji175]

LMSM hate to admit i had all consuming gender desire and then gender disappointment with baby #1 :( we had #2 and got our little girl..but then we lost her, next came 3 boys in a row, cant even begin to describe the devastation (as awful as that sounds) but its true, it felt like our girl had been taken from us and then we were being punished with boy after boy after boy. even now after 2 healthy girls in a row i would be crushed if we had another boy, i dont think a baby boy will ever be a positive experience for me.
i hope you can feel better about your baby girl soon, though i do understand that it doesnt always work like that with GD, i think that relative who said same sex siblings suck is an idiot, for what it is worth 3+ girls is my dream family, but i also understand that having lots of one gender when all you want is the opposite can be such a dark place to be, it certainly was in my experience. big hugs and everyone is here for you when your ready to come back

Max yes of course you were waiting on NIPT!! cant believe i didnt remember that!!
in all honesty i am shocked you heard boy, i must admit its things like this that really bring home the fact that luck or chance or whatever you want to call it really do play a fairly big part in all our sways, he must be one very determined little man!!
i completely understand your feelings, hearing "boy" was never a positive thing for me, in all honesty it was devastating, and i think when we sway we feel like we are more likely to be guaranteed our boy or our girl because of all the things we do and change. how have dh and your girls reacted? i hope you are ok  i am very glad baby is healthy but i am sorry that you didnt get your all girl dream, i know how much you wanted it and how much it meant to you, i hope your little boy can surprise you in ways you never imagined xx

4blue, thank you. It was just that when I heard boy...devastating. The logical side of me KNOWS that I'm going to love him, and knows that he can still be close to his sisters despite the gender and age differences. However, the emotional side of me is really, really struggling. I think I was possibly too confident in my sway that it was a girl, but all along the way I did have doubts (low hcg which was different than my girls, delayed positive hpt, different cravings, etc). Its just crazy to me, especially with LMSM, Kat, srg having girls and wanting boys. You know?! DH is happy and girls are excited, although DD2 told me she wished it was a girl so she could have another sister. Those words stung and are still with me...

Lmsm: so many hugs it doesn't make you a bad person. I felt like an awful person I sobbed in front of my dh, dd, ds1, and sis and sil. I felt like a monster crying over a healthy baby. Then it didn't help when I called my mom and told her the gender, she was like are you sure? That just made me cry harder. Anyways it's okay, and it doesn't make you a bad person! Wish I could give you so many hugs!

LMSM - I wish I could give you so many HUGS!!! I am the same way. Some days are better than others. I still have my horrible days of GD. You are not at all wrong in the way you feel. And I too am like Max and wonder how so many of you wonderful ladies would give anything for a boy and some of us would give anything for our girl. And we got opposites. But for some reason, these little people found us and picked us as their parents and we will not know for a while, why that was. It is ok to struggle with it and I am still struggling at 34w. We still have no name and really nothing ready for this little man. And I feel so bad about it. He can come at any moment, and I am still not bonded or anything. UGH. HUGS to all of you!!!!!! The struggle is so real, but I also know you are a wonderful mother and will love this girl like you do your others!!! Time will help heal and you will get past it. I know with time I will forget the baby years and craziness because it will be replaced by so much love and chaos from my boys!!!
4p2g - I fully understand the feelings of having your girl ripped away from you and hearing boy after that. The same thing happened when we lost our twin girls and here I am having another boy. It really was devastating, but I will get past it. HUGS We all have struggled so much, I am so very happy that we have this place to share and not be judged. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this group.

max i completely understand, you had a vision of how you wanted your family to be and its hard to let go of that and accept a different reality, thats great that dh and DD1 are excited :) i totally get how what DD2 said upset you, its hard when our children want a sibling of a certain gender as you feel the pressure to give it too them!! i am sure she will be all over him as soon as he arrives
shann i think when loss or losses play a part in GD it kicks it into a higher gear, it certainly did for me, im so sorry you lost your girls i cant begin to imagine being in that situation, i also found it very hard to bond with the boys while i was pregnant and it was difficult to find the motivation to prepare for them xx

Xx-so exciting! I hope everything goes well!
My SO and I talked yesterday about staying home with baby. He told me I misunderstood but I'm still unsure if that's it. He said he supports if I want to work full time but would rather me not. He thought full time was what I wanted even though he knows I don't care for my job. I would like to work part time just to help out if, I can find something after baby comes. I'm so relieved and I hope it doesn't change before she comes.

I woke up determined to not let GD get the best of me today! I'm going to celebrate this little healthy guy that is growing inside of me, and I promised myself that today I won't get down thinking about the DD3 I dreamed of. Doesn't mean that it doesn't make me want to cry every time I think about it, but for today, I'm not allowing myself the headspace to go there. Baby bump pic from this morning. I have a work meeting and am also just excited to get out of the house and off the couch, bedrest is awful!

Ahhhh struggling with names. Anyone else?? We've got a boy's name from when we were team green with my DD but if this one is pink we have nothing. Coming up with DD's name took 2 days after she was born because we couldn't agree and didn't really like anything. DH and I are school teachers and every time one of us suggests a name the other one is like "noooo I had a terrible student that ruined that name for me!" Or something along those lines.

Max you are stunning hope the scan tomorrow gives you comfort :) plus....I like the spirit!!! ;) I have done the same and am picking up some cute girlie pjs tomorrow, so DD3 can have things of her own, not just hand me downs from her sisters.
...our DD is basically the same give or take a few days and I am huuuuge, my Uterus is still not at belly button level at this stage yet I have a fat bulge above it.sigh...and I have not been on bedrest and this is your third too, so impressed!!gah, I weighed myself at the doc today..almost +4kgs since the beginning, never had put on that much with previous pregnancies this early and to think I started before the pregnancy with an extra 3-4kgs compared to last time, I am doomed to balloon lol
Dancing...if you are willing to share DD1 s name, we could help ;) might be a sign you are carrying a boy thiough hehe

October 5th, 2017, 07:53 AM
Her name is Keeley (which we decided on because it is a traditional Scottish name and DH's family history is proud Scottish). We had it "waiting there" for when she was born but DH wanted to see what she looked like first because in his mind he only ever saw a "Keeley" as blue eyed and blonde hair. She came out with dark brown hair but we decided to go with it because we had nothing else. Low and behold her hair went lighter and lighter, and she's a blondie with blue eyes.
We've got the perfect name for a boy (Alec) which is another traditional Scottish name and honours DH's Scottish heritage as well as DH's grandfather (Allan) and great grandfather (Alexander). I so hope this is a boy to use the name. I know DH's grandfather who we are super close to will just burst into tears because he's very much a "boy passes the name on" and we're the last ones left to try to carry the name on with a boy.

Dancing silly question but have you tried googling traditional Scottish girl names to see if there's a twist you could put on one? I can't even imagine how difficult it would be to find a name agreeable to both you and dh being teachers [emoji50] If I have a girl her name will be Mara if it suits as its a name I've had picked since I was in my teens [emoji23] I also really like Adaline, a name I came across at my ds1's school.....

Dancingdiva- I thought it's so cute and funny that both you and dh are school teachers and can't agree on a name. [emoji4] I was up late night reading names online to make me a list but didn't like any name. There were good names but nothing that would feel like this is it. [emoji52]
Bluebooties- My appointment is at 1:30 tomorrow. I am so nervous more because I want to hear that all is ok. They couldn't take a clear look at the face and heart last time since I was 19w1d. I am praying they can quickly do it this time because until then I will keep worrying. Dd will be with us too. Once the tech is done, I am going to ask to show me the gender without letting dd know or else the world would know. [emoji23]Will update you all soon after. But this u/s has always taken longer than we thought so I may be late in updating.
Keep us posted about the rest of the test results. Thinking and praying for you and baby. So, are we disclosing the gender tomorrow together? Whatever you feel comfortable with though. Take your time. [emoji847][emoji847]

O Ash i do hope so !
I guess i just have PTSD. I have gone through this 2 times (dd2 dd3) each time hoping maybe this is it but then being made to realise i can be nothing but a girl mom. Again with 3 kids of same gender i have a pretty slim chance of reading boy. This time i have tried very hard to not let my hope up for a boy but still i am afraid to read.
The kids are out of school for 3 days 3rd week of October giving me 5 full days of staycation. If i don't read it b4 then (moms in law are pushing me ) that staycation would be a good time to read cry over it and maybe even go through my baby girl clothing etc to get me excited for this baby.
Sky I am praying so very hard that u hear blue !! But most importantly that baby is healthy.

We r planning a trip to the grandparents this coming summers and if i take 4 girls with me the comments i will get esp from my in laws will near about kill me. There is a BIG ( cant stress on it enough) hype about male heirs and the carrying forward of the name etc. A part of me is wanting not to go and make up an excuse but i don't think DH will agree.
The best part is my sweet DH hasn't pushed me at reading the envelope at all. He knows i have it. And i know he is dying to know but is being patient for my sake.

Blue, my goodness what I would do to trade places with you! I can't help but feel like a monster for feeling the way that I do about having a son. I had my hematoma follow up this morning and couldn't believe how indifferent I was to seeing this innocent, healthy little guy on the screen kicking away. I pray that you hear boy, I know how badly it sucks to have GD.

Blue I can so understand this feeling
I was all excited about knowing gender. I swayed hard for blue. But now as the time is coming near... I am confused and nervous whether I should go for blood test or not. I don't know what and how I LL react if it is DD3.
A sensible part of me says I LL of course love her endlessly as I love my 2ddaughters. But the thought of losing my boy is killing me. And yes, heirs carrying names are same with my in laws too. I don't know how are they all going to react.

Blue - I am so very happy to read that all is good with baby! Sorry to hear that you are so scared to find out gender ((HUGS)) I know how you feel.
Max - HUGS dear. I am so sorry to hear that you are still struggling so much. After going through GD for 3 times now, it is NO fun at all and does NOT get easier. I pray for all of us that once we meet this baby we will know instantly why we were given the beautiful child that we did not know we needed in our life!

Blue, ホm sure it's a boy, so hope you find it in you to open the envelope to エmeet' this little person and know who you will be adding to the brood!
Sky, eeeek!!!
Max, how was the hematoma ? Gone?
Your feelings are normal, don't force yourself..in due time, you'll get excited ;)
Here sick as a dog, and no rest which is the only thing that could help. Sigh
DD1 has for the last week been saying she doesn't want another sister, she wants the baby to be a boy, and why didn't I make this baby a boy. Don't know why she's changed her attitude so drastically but omg it hurts soooo bad :(

Sorry for the delay Ladies. The baby wasn't cooperating at all [emoji52]. I almost cried because she kept looking at the heart for so long then after a trip to the restroom and changing sides she could look at everything but one thing and for that she asked us to wait for the doctor. It took forever. The doc was so nice and said there is nothing that looks concerning to her and she wouldn't want to do anything further. Sigh.
And finally something for you all. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171006/ff4b0fc6f23323e5ac9f234777ceaa9a.jpg

Thank you Mommy2apples, Ash, bluebooties,Samish and Pbn.

Sky!! I'm so stoked for you! Our first successful blue sway!
Hoping I will get to be another success but I'm just feeling this is a girl even though DH and I tried really hard with this sway and changed everything compared to DD. Some days I regret being team green because I just want to know and other days I'm glad because then I don't feel the disappointment during the pregnancy because I love being pregnant in general.

Yes. Dh told me. The tech told him that there was 60% chance of a boy. And the other tech confirmed at Anatomy scan too.

Dancingdiva- I can so relate to that feeling. I kept holding myself back for a long time just because I didn't want to be disappointed specially when I still have so much guilt from the first time. I also used to think that if it's a boy then I would jinx it if I will find out. Mind plays crazy games. We have the same thinking in our families about boy carrying the family name which I don't believe but that doesn't stop people from commenting.

Thank you LMSM. I know you always were so sure that it's a boy for me even when I wasn't. I really wish that we all could have gotten our boys. I really pray you and Kat and all blue swayers who heard girl get their little boys too. I know how much it hurts when your kids show their desire for the opposite gender. Big Hugs
Dd didn't care much for the u/s because she was expecting to see the baby super clear. Can you believe she chose to not find out the gender so she doesn't know. We respected her choice. She kept asking for a boy in the beginning and now says she wants a girl. I don't know how will she react. Towards the end of the appointment when the doc came, she printed a 3D picture to get dd excited [emoji4] which worked just a little.

Sky for Boys I致e went to carters a lot when they were babies. For the warm weather I like the cute little under Armour clothes. I always felt like Boys clothes aren稚 as available as girls the boy section always seems smaller
