Yes they are super low odds but it can and does happen on very rare occasions... might be worth doing a 2 hour hold and poas? Only if you'd be ok with that though. Your other tests may have simply been too early. At 11dpo you'd be able to trust the result a lot more (in case you are only 11dpo that is)

That's good though Abc (as in no temp rise this morning) as you dont want one until tomorrow or the following morning. If you'd had a temp spike this morning it would indicate o possibly happened same day as pos opk giving your attempt little hope. We want to see a spike two mornings after pos opk or three mornings after as best odds of conception are a 1-o or 2-o attempt. Will look up that time zone now so I can work out the difference to Australian [emoji12]

No worries Greydore! To explain why day of o odds of conception aren't very good its because sperm needs time to capacitate which they say can take up to 12 hours to do. Only a capacitated sperm can penetrate an egg. Apparently this was what Dr Shettles was looking at (uncapacitated and capacitated sperm, rounded head and narrow head) when he thought he was looking at xx and xy sperm.

Pbn - yup, 4 days last cycle! Crazy!!! I took my temperature a little while ago (around 5 pm). It was low - lower than my normal post-O BBTs. I know it's not a BBT but does it mean I probably haven't O-ed yet? If I had and my progesterone had increased wouldn't I at least have an evening temp as high as my post-O BBTs? (I hadn't eaten/drank anything before I took temp).

ABC I don't know if this helps, but there was a study done on charting cycles. It showed that only 22% of women had temp rises the day after O. The rest it took 2-3 days. Are you BDing again just in case? I know too frequent sways boy right?

Thanks Greydore and Robin that's reassuring. I think if I don't get a temp rise tomorrow morning, we might BD again tomorrow morning. That would give us 60+ hours between two attempts. I know sperm can live longer than that but it seems unlikely there would be much left at that point.

I just don't think there will be that many sperm left after 2+ days, and I want to give this cycle a good shot. I'm doing well. I've switched up my diet to lower carb (no white carbs) and added chicken back in a few times a week. I'm back to cardio as well. I have to lose these last couple of pounds.

Greydore I've checked and it looks as though Walmart cheapies have a sensitivity of 25mIU. In comparison an frer has been known to detect as little as 6.5mIU. All tests vary in sensivity but that's a huge difference. OSOM are also very sensitive. If you implanted say 9/10dpo which is within normal guidelines then you wouldn't see a line on you on your test for possibly another day or so. Or you could be experiencing the 'all of a sudden different cycle when every other cycle has been like clockwork syndrome' that we seem to experience when watching our cycles so closely [emoji52]

I love your optimism Pbn :) and here I thought that 25mIU was sensitive! My temp jumped again today, which just confuses me even more. I keep reminding myself that I had exactly zero symptoms during the TWW with my last baby. I literally felt no different than my non pregnant self. I felt so different this past Monday that now I'm thinking I'm just symptom spotting and it's all in my head! I had a nonhormonal IUD, so I wouldn't think it would mess with my cycle but maybe it did? I feel like I got way too lucky with my last pregnancy (got pregnant our first cycle trying), this waiting sucks!

Thank you XX! I'm totally okay with it this month :) we have a busy November so I hopefully won't be obsessing 24/7. It also looks like we totally missed my fertile window this month, so next month I think we will use OPKs. The only part that stinks is that I really didn't want to be in the third trimester during the summer, so I didn't want an August or September due date. Oh well!

Also, I'm 29. I got pregnant at 24 and 26 with my boys, so I'm nervous that I'm less fertile now or something :/

Girlsway I had literally no symptoms at all with my second pregnancy during the TWW. I felt no different AT ALL. I remember getting my bfp and women on another forum were asking how I felt, did I cramp at implantation, etc, but I felt absolutely nothing. I only early tested because we were actively trying, and I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't keep getting darker test lines each day (first positive was 11 dpo, I didn't test at 10 so don't know if that would've shown up or not). Of course that all changed at 6 weeks when the fatigue and morning sickness hit.

When did you get a positive with your 2014 baby?

Abc perhaps you are experiencing a slow response/rise in body temp post o.... was really hoping the clomid would clear that up. Can you do an opk just for curiousity sake? Not the dual hormone one just the regular? Wondering if you're experiencing more than one surge. Strange your cm has turned creamy though. Glad you got an attempt in this morning regardless!

Pbn I'll try an opk tonight. I don't know what's going on - it's really frustrating though, especially bc I thought Clomid would help. Maybe it will be more effective next cycle having had it in my system longer. What's frustrating too is that I don't see the point in talking to my doctor about it since he doesn't really believe in the charting method and just says that I will ovulate 12-36 after +opk. I asked Atomic a bunch of questions today on that other thread I have - I'm wondering if swaying so long and pushing the diet/exercise so hard is making it more difficult for me to O.

Ok, Pbn, I know you like analyzing charts... :) :) So I'm wondering your thoughts on this: The last two cycles I've had just the slightest "dip" in temp a couple of days before I saw a clear rise. The temp starts to rise slowly the day after the "dip". So last cycle, I had a slight dip on day 13, it went up on day 14 (just slightly), and the next day it shot up. This cycle, I had a slight dip on day 14 and it's gone up slightly each day the past two days. Is it POSSIBLE that maybe those two "dip" days are the days I actually ovulated and that I am getting a very gradual rise for a day or two after until my temp really spikes? Isn't "ovulation dip" a real thing (like implantation dip)? I know the slight rises after the dip are still normal/typical pre-O temps, but they follow a temp that is lower than the other ones. This cycle I had a very low temp on day 11 that may have just been a weird thing, but other than that, my day 14 temp is the lowest I've had this cycle.

I don't know am I being crazy? Trying to make sense of this!!

Abc it's absolutely possible you experience a slow rise in temp post o. The only way to confirm when ovulation is actually happening though is by u/s and doesn't sound like your ob is going to be willing to go there..... Remember too he's probably assuming you are dtd eod during your fertile window (eg cd8 - cd18) so he is probably completely unbothered by what your temps are doing in relation to your lh surge.... I'm actually thinking you could have oed yesterday (Saturday) and this mornings temp (Sunday) has been taken before your temp has had a chance to spike.... We'll know more with tomorrows temp if that's the case.

Meant to say that yes a pre o dip is very common but is not always 'the day before o.' Temps will commonly bottom out prior to o but could be days before or the day before. Your temp could be coming back up from an earlier bottoming out then continue rising after o so you end up with a more steady incline rather than a spike which could be what we are seeing with you before the 'jump'

Don't read anything into it! It's just a program at the end of the day that can only use the info provided to draw a conclusion. You could put a pos opk entry in at cd17 and it will reallocate crosshairs for sure. Maybe just do that and make a note that it was a bogus entry to shift crosshairs? It will use this cycle to predict when o/af etc will happen mext cycle so you may as well fudge the info to get it in the right spot. Next cycle will be different when it has cm and opk entries along with temps [emoji3]

Hi and Welcome! Sometimes we have cycles with longer or shorter LPs than others. It never fails that once we start TTCing, our cycles go wonky! It could still be early to test yet, depending on when implantation happened. Also, some cycles we produce a good sized corpus luteum that takes a little longer to shrink before signaling the start of AF.

I’d take another test in a day or 2, which should let you know one way or another. It is promising with your temp being high still 🤞🏻!

Sorry Girlsway - Can you try a FRER? Welcome Noemi!! Fx for you! I've found that my temps don't drop until several days after AF starts.... But the fact that AF hasn't started yet means you still have a chance!! Keep testing!

Welp my temp spiked today! So I guess I ovulated. Pbn - I think you might be onto something w/ Saturday being my possible O day. My temp rose slightly on Sunday compared to Friday & Saturday, so perhaps I did ovulate sometime on Saturday/late Saturday/overnight and my temp just hadn't reflected it yet. I was definitely w/o EWCM on Sunday... I didn't really check CM on Fri or Saturday, but I'm pretty sure I didn't have anything like what I had on Tuesday-Thursday, when I had a lot. I got first +OPK on Thursday morning, so it just seems like I would have had to have ovulated by late Saturday/overnight. Oh well - it looks now like O occurred. Wondering how my attempts were timed though - if I ovulated late Saturday/overnight Sunday, Sunday morning's attempt was probably too late, and hopefully something was left from Thursday's. If I ovulated yesterday, probably my best chance was w/ yesterday's attempt as Thursday's attempt probably had little left.

That said - I already feel like this wasn't my cycle. Last week was pretty rough on my body. For various reasons I just wasn't eating as much (less than I normally have been on my sway and I dipped too low some days on protein and calories), I didn't feel well w/ some sort of stomach issue going on, and I had a lot of wine (1 or 2 glasses a day but it felt like too much). I wouldn't be surprised if I was too depleted for my body to be able to conceive. If this isn't my cycle I'm going to make some changes next cycle to take a bit better care of myself because I don't want to push things to far w/ this swaying stuff.

October 31: blood draw 601!
They want me to come in November 10 at 9:30 am for a viability ultrasound to ease my mind! My mind is already eased though! The lord has told me this baby is A-okay!!

Pbn - Yea I will test at 10 dpo... maybe 9 dpo :) Except that I don't really know for sure which day I O'd!! Going off the assumption that it was Saturday which would make 10 dpo next Tuesday - one week from now.

Ugh I haven't had a "girl sway tww" since August (since we took two cycles off after m/c) and it sucks!! I don't drink my wine in the evenings "just in case" I'm pregnant, but I still have to stick w/ the LE diet b/c I may not be pregnant. And I'm hungry and it's Halloween and I had to resist getting into the kid's candy tonight!! Booooo!! I'm sooooo tired of this diet! :( :(

I’m so excited and anxious about the whole thing! We are swaying pink and since I am a type one diabetic - it’s been hard to keep the blood sugars low so I’m definitely anxious about that, but I took Clomid and have been doing the alternative PCOS LE so fingers crossed we have done as much as we can [emoji28]

I had a temp dip today. Interesting bc I am taking progesterone and that's raised my temps so far and I drank a bit last night. Usually that raises bbt too. Trying not to look to hard into tgat... but I am praying this is my month bc I've eaten so much Halloween candy. Lol
It's November... which means it's my miscarried daughter's due date month. I NEED this to be my month.

Hi again. We had our ultrasound yesterday (8 weeks 6 days) the baby had stopped growing at 6 to 7 weeks and had no heartbeat or bloodflow. We are devastated. The Doctor is recommending a D &C to avoid infection. Anyway... hopefully I will see some of you in a future 2ww forum.

So very sorry for your loss sciencegirl. Losing a baby is very hard even though you weren’t able to hold them. We had a little funeral for our little boy after having a d&c.
