Would it matter if the bding is spaced 4 days apart after the one attempt, in case the ovulation didn't happen and then happens later? We are aiming for one attempt at positive opk. So unprotected sex 4 days later shouldn't affect anything with the one attempt sway . And after that could it be every two days or should it be every four days intercourse? We are on the DH release every other day plan.
Sent from my SM-G930U using Tapatalk
Gafan yes I would just keep bding e4d after your one attempt and then its irrelevant whether you o late or not as you'll basically still only ever have one attempt. I wouldn't start doing every 2nd day unless you're temping and have well and truly confirmed o. We've all had that one or so cycle that goes haywire and there can be numerous reasons for oing late so to err on the side of caution I'd avoid eod altogether when swaying pink [emoji4]

Mummy can't wait for your morning test! FX!
My temperature isn't that high this morning, but at least I'm quite sure it's in post ovulation range. So I guess it's impossible to say for sure what day I ovulated on. From my feeling I would say yesterday so I'm afraid odds of conception won't be so good this month...

Sorry Mummy :( :( Those tests looked so hopeful!!
Verena I've had cycles where it was not clear which day I ovulated - despite opks, temping and even a follicle ultrasound once! It's so frustrating! Hang in there - it does look like CD13 is possible so you'd have a great chance with that!
My appointment went ok I guess. RE said possible causes of the m/c's are a blood clotting issue, chromosome defect in me or DH, or something in my uterus (polyp, fibroid, scar tissue). So she's running a bunch of blood tests and I will have an ultrasound of my uterus after my next AF starts. A blood clotting issue or uterus issue would probably be treatable. A chromosome defect isn't, but she said there's a less than 1% chance of it being that. So, we'll see!

Anyone have any tips for early early signs of eye problems? Usually a wipe with colloidal silver does the trick but I’m unsure on using it just in case.

I was so sure too mummy2boys! So much I wasn't even surprised at all when you posted those bfps. I'm really not convinced they were faulty tests... to have both tests show a line?? Faint? Yes. But definately there. What brand are these cheapies?? Do they mention how sensitive they are? I did think it crazy you got a bfp day after implantation, usually 2-3 later is the norm with a very sensitive test but anything is possible when ttc. That I DO know lol.

Mummy - wait, what?!! Why wont your doctors do anything about that? 7 days is too short!! I was put on Clomid basically just because I have a 10-ish day LP and my progesterone was at the lower end of normal - and while obviously I have some other issues going on, I am convinced (as are my doctors) that the Clomid has really improved my progesterone levels after O. Will they not even give you progesterone supplements for after you O? If your LP is not 10 days or even if you're starting to spot before 10 days it really seems like they should be willing to give you something!! I know there are some natural ways to help lengthen it too, although I know some of those sway blue (like vitamin B6). Are you eating eggs, salmon, full fat dairy? That could also help (and are ok on a girl sway diet, if you're doing LE). Ugh - sorry this has to all be so frustrating!!

Mummy2boys I wouldn't worry about your lp just yet. Your body could still be recovering from your recent loss in late January/early February. Your Feb cycle lp was 7 days and that seems to be a one off as this one is still going at 10 days now so it may be just hormones settling into place and by next cycle you could be back to having a normal lp. Looks like things are ironing themselves out to me. Anything 10 days and over is a perfectly fine lp. Wow those cheapies are sensitive!!! That's fantastic! You need to get some frers to have on hand in case you see a line on a cheapie again so you can confirm with an frer [emoji12] would remove any question of a faulty test/s.....

I would love a girl but I would be so happy with a boy too right now. No, the doctor I spoke to didn't even seem to be interested in my luteal phase and basically said there was no tests they would do as I've had two healthy pregnancies. I'm going to go back though if it doesn't work out soon. I'll give it one more months attempt. My spotting has stopped now so god knows what's going on lol. How are you?

Weird - so the spotting never turned into AF and has stopped?? But hpt is still negative? So frustrating!!! Hopefully like Pbn said it does sort itself out (was LP less than 10 days before your m/c?). I did have a 10 day LP when I got pregnant with my boys and conceived them easily, so it's def possible with 10 days, but yea, I agree with you, I don't think it's a bad idea to go back if you aren't pregnant soon. It would seem odd that if you do have a shorter LP that they wouldn't at least give you progesterone suppositories/pills for after O.
I'm doing OK thanks - got myself into a bit of a panic yesterday because the RE did a HCG test and it came back at 146, and then I started bleeding again yesterday, and cramping today, so I ended up going to see the doctor who did my D&C today for a quick "check up" ultrasound to make sure there weren't any signs of retained tissue, blood clots, etc. There wasn't thankfully and she said things look really good - and that the HCG should zero out in a few weeks. For now I'm just waiting for the blood results from the RE, DH has to go get his blood tests on Monday, I have to get HCG rechecked on Monday, and then have an in-depth ultrasound of my uterus probably in a few weeks time. So just waiting and worrying about test results :)

Really glad things are looking good and hopefully that hcg will drop quickly. Mine was checked every two days because they were worried about ectopic and it halved every time I was tested so hopefully yours will be back to zero in a week or so. Hope DHs tests go well on Monday too.
My lp (since I started tracking my cycles so about 2 years) has always been around 10/11 days but it got longer when taking the b vitamins. I've no idea what it was like when I conceived my boys as I had never even heard of an lp then lol. I just got pregnant first try both times [emoji23]

That's good that the B vitamins do seem to lengthen your LP! Just wish we knew what was going on with this cycle!! Mummy2boys I see a line in every test!!! You have to be pregnant! Your chart screams pregnant and now you have lines on two different types of tests. Do they run betas where you are? Could you ask for 48 hour bw?

Oh and that must've been implantation dip and spotting? Makes sense to get a bfp on a 25 test 3/4 days after suspected implantation... what those earlier tests were picking up I have no idea...

No they won't do anything like that here, won't see you at early pregnancy unit till 6 weeks! And that's if there is a history of issues. I've ordered a frer off Amazon and it will be here later. I'm stressed because the lines are so faint and I'm 11 dpo. I had very strong lines last time at 10 dpo and that ended badly. Will update later. Thanks everyone

I've been spotting still, my period would be due today so I guess that can be normal? I don't have any cramps now but the spotting worries me. It's every time I have my bo it's bright red then goes straight to brown. Then it stops. Hoping it's nothing to worry about as I'm still so early I can't get anything checked!

I cant understand what the big deal is and why they won't order them done when asked, especially when there's spotting involved or in mummy2boys case recurrent losses.

I didn't know brown spotting is progesterone I just thought 'old blood' I hope it settles soon it's annoying me! And every time I go for a wee I'm worrying about what I might find! I don't think I'm cramping I think it's more muscle ache but could be crampy or maybe I'm just thinking about it too much ha ha! I don't remember this with my daughter.
It's a bit annoying about not getting bloods but over here (UK) they don't really care until later on so we have to just wait and see! I even work in a maternity unit and don't get special treatment ha ha!

Ok then I'm pretty sure cd12 looks the best bet for o day. That's a fast surge though, oing same day as o. If that's what always happens and this isn't a once off it may be tricky to get a viable attempt in doing one attempt at pos opk. I would strongly recommend getting some dip tests to test between both 1-3pm and again in the evening if the afternoon looks close. You can then confirm with a digi if you like. Keep each urine sample until you've read the result in case you need to retest. The other alternative is to do an e4d pattern to get your one attempt in. Either the 96 hour version or 72 hour version (96 slightly more pink but lower conception odds, 72 hour version slightly less pink but much better conception odds)

Yes I have a fast surge most cycles- I think it depends on when my FMU catches it. Thank you for that Pbn3! We tried e4d 72 hours last cycle and nada, this cycle he's gone, but we were going to do e4d again next cycle too with an attempt at posOPK which, clearly, will be difficult if it's a matter of 12 hours.

But we are here to cheer you on and I'm very hopeful for next cycle! Will you be doing e4d (72 hour version) from af onwards next cycle? Mummy - whoa def see the lines!! Hoping they get darker the next few days!!
Sorry emshe :( Was this your first month on Clomid? FWIW I've done 3 cycles of Clomid and it wasn't until the 3rd cycle that I could really see the changes in my cycle and progesterone levels. I've gotten pregnant 2 of my 3 Clomid cycles so I don't know really how it would have affected my LP if I hadn't gotten pregnant those two months, but I DO think it has made a big difference in my progesterone levels. My doc and the RE that I saw the other day see that as well. Obviously I'm still losing the pregnancies so something else is going on but I feel like the Clomid is really helping. So if it was your first cycle, maybe you'll respond better next cycle?
Star hope your HSG went well!
Good luck Noemi!!

Thanks ladies.
I don't want to give up but at some point I have to. A whole lot of living has been missed since my first loss in September 2015 (a sway through a naturopath) then a solid year of planning our first American HT cycle in December 2016 (agreed to be a one and only cycle) then a second mid 2017 with a transfer that didnt take, then a return trip 3 months later for a final transfer, our successful transfer followed by the loss of our girl mid November. Its been so long & so much dedication, lost times with my boys, and emotional heartache that has seen me develop anxiety and at times depression. Over 2 1/2 years, YIKES!
Sorry Im venting, sometimes it helps to see it written out that I really have tried my best and maybe next cycle will be it, I hope it is, I really do, as we all do every month but I am thinking that somewhere somehow I have to say, Ive tried my best but this is whats meant to be.

Emshe what an exhausting journey you've had and wow you have every right to feel over it. I can totally relate to lost time with the boys. I felt the exact same way. I felt such relief when I truly had had enough and stopped ttc (even though I fell pregnant miracously that first cycle after) I felt a huge weight came off me and I was happier then I'd been in a loooong time. I was finally at peace with my family staying as was and like you, felt I'd given it my very best shot and was ready to move on. So if after next cycle you feel the same peace at stopping I will support your decision 100% [emoji173] In saying that I truly do hope you get your long awaited and much deserved bfp. And yes I would definately take the clomid as its such a strong swaying tactic! I ovulated without clomid too but has poor ovarian reserve and took it at my obs advice. Will you consider SMEP for this possible last cycle? Do it to the 'T'?

I'm so sorry :( I hope like Pbn said you finally get your BFP this cycle and I can understand that you feel like you have to be thinking ahead about when it's time to say enough. The emotional burden we carry in this whole process of swaying, hoping, TTC-ing, BFNs, loss, etc. is so intense and draining, and yet it's so hard to let go when we want another baby so much. You can always vent here! Heck, I've certainly done enough of it LOL! I tried to stay away from this site initially after this last loss, but I feel so much support & love from all of you (more than I'm getting from various family members right now!) and it's helping me more to stay connected! I also ovulate without Clomid and have a good ovarian reserve and yet my doc still thought I could benefit from it due to short LP/ low-normal progesterone. He says even if you ovulate regularly, Clomid can help produce a "better" ovulation which ups the chances of conception. So I agree with Pbn about continuing to take it! Hopefully having it in your system now will help you respond better this cycle!!

Thanks so much for your understanding, you really do help. I wish none of us had experienced what we have. But this sure is a lovely place to get help, in every way. THANKYOU to each of you, I know I appreciate it always.
I’m nervous. I have to EAT to get my weight under control & that’s going to alter my sway. I know I have so many elements going for me with the Clomid, metformin, exercise, coffee, alcohol (although I haven’t done alcohol in tww & I haven’t exercised in 3 days...) & hubby doing ole, & the timing things we do but it just feels like I will undermine it somehow. But then I have probably already diminished my chances of falling by depleting myself so much. I think so much my head should explode!
I eat so much, but because I have been sugar free & pretty much grain free for years I don’t think I’ve hit high enough calories, despite having a serve of rice potatoes & cruskits every day with each meal. My veggie intake is big of all the free stuff. I’ve done the serve of yoghurt & chicken daily, and had eggs, salmon, the wholeWay through. Upped fats but The weight just hasn’t stopped coming off. Has anyone else struggled with this?
Any tips and suggestions.
I have eaten pretty bad today. I actually had a cream bun, (haven’t had one of those since I was a kid- Outrageously good OMG), corn chips, a biscuit & ill have some chips/crisps later) I know I need to do it but I don’t want to sway too far the other way. I guess that’s why I’m thinking unhealthy food as they’re less nutritious but will make me put weight back on!? Agh, so lost right now with what to do.

Hey ladies! I'm so sorry af arrived! Don't give up though, I'm sure it'll happen.
My HSG went great! I hardly had any pain and just some light cramping and light spotting. Doc said tubes are clear! Next step is the SHG which is where they put saline in your uterus to check for fibroids and pollops--- that's next Thursday.
I got another test result back tonight and it's my first "abnormal" result. My testosterone is sky high like I think it was close to the 60's which is high for a woman. Hmmmm... [emoji848]

Glad it went well & wasn’t too bad for you Star, hope someone can help with advice on the testosterone?

Girldreaming, you would think you'd be able to get some sort of tests in the unit where you work! What a shame. I know exactly what you mean about the worry every time you go to the toilet. Have you thought about getting an early scan in a couple of weeks? I was going to do that last time, I found one on groupon for £23!
Kikurose, did you maybe ovulate on cd 11?
Thanks girlsway, how are you doing? When did you get your bfp and can you remember how dark it was? I'm just worried as last time it was much darker and ended in a mc anyway. Glad you are still popping into this board [emoji3]

Oh mummy this is shit!!!! How effing confusing is that??!! All I can say is hang in there still, different tests have different sensitivities so who's to know which is right [emoji17] I agree with not getting your hopes up simply because in my experience I wouldn't be, BUT that's not to say that maybe things are just fine. You clearly have a fertilised egg that has implanted, whether the body is rejecting it or not cannot be determined by hpts as there simply is too much allowance for variance, especially at this early stage. I find it completely and utterly ridiculous you cannot access bw requests for betas [emoji34] especially with your history!!!! Surely there is grounds for it!!?? Why wont they just bloody well organise them on request?!!!

Please don't think that!!! That's EXACTLY what I thought (too old - and had the bw results to prove it) but still soldiered on. I didn't get my rainbow while ttc but I do have to say although I'd given up who's to say she simply wasn't meant to be whether I'd tried or not? Or maybe *something* compelled me to ask for a massage to alleviate sore neck, shoulder and back muscle pain which I never do, which ultimately led to us bding out of the blue which I know for a fact would never have happened if the massage hadn't started things going..... My thinking is, you can get pregnant, but now it's a matter of the right sperm reachimg the right egg (mens sperm does degenerate too) so you either keep trying and maybe only start hpt testing after af is due or if its become to much consider NTNP?

Mummy ugh I'm sorry it's not clear what's going on right now :( It's just so frustrating. I feel the same way you do - why do I get pregnant so easily when they wont stick? I really wish your doctors would be more willing to check things out/run tests. Not that the tests will always identify or solve anything but it's still good to have them I think.
Emshe - I think you're right that if you have to add in more calories and such to slow the weight loss doing so from unhealthy foods, sugar, sweets, etc would I think be best for your sway rather than super healthy, high calorie, high nutrient foods. Do you have PCOS? I'm supposed to be doing the PCOS LE (bc of possible IR) and I know atomic told me a few months ago that if my weight was starting to get too low I should add in some sugar just to keep the weight on. I've also seen from her that if you're on metformin that allows you to be a little more lax on your diet - as the metformin can counteract the effects of the sugar.

It feels worse this time even though it's only very early, I guess it feels like it might never happen.

ABC thanks for this! I don’t have PCOS that I’m aware of. I was put on metformin the second cycle of HT as They see improved egg quality in lots of people when they use it. I had insulin resistances the past pre children but with change in diet I managed to get rid of it. All glucose tests last year were normal. But I’ve just kept taking it to help egg quality plus I read on here it helps sway pink. I’ve been sugar free for years, and I was pretty much grain free, so this diet has been a big change & my mindset has still seen me stay away from the sugar as i know how it used to make me foggy etc but if it’s a quick fix I’ll do it! What did you eat specifically that helped you gain weight?

Emshe, well I haven't really gained weight... Sort of stopped losing it for the moment but as I start back on LE I'm sure I'm going to lose more again. My BMI is at about 20.5 right now though (was about 27 when I started this a year ago) so I'm going to have to be careful about that too. I'm trying to eat about 1700 calories per day right now which is higher than I was eating before each of my BFPs, and I haven't really started back with the exercise yet. I didn't know metformin helps egg quality! I wonder if I should ask my RE about that. Anyways... I think I saw that you had asked atomic about this? It seems tricky to me since you had IR issues in the past, and as you've been sugar and grain free, it would seem like you'd want to be careful about suddenly adding a bunch of sugar in since it seems like that would be a pretty big shock to your system. But you need to stop losing weight it sounds like. Are you eating at the top of the calorie/fat/protein ranges? (like 1,800 calories, 50-60 fat, 50-60 protein). Maybe adding in a few small sweets, chocolates, etc. a day to give you that bit of extra sugar?

It’s so confusing what to do isn’t it. Ask them about metformin, it’s pretty common for HRC to use. Particularly for PCOS & IR. It can cause tummy upsets at the beginning but if your limiting sugars and empty carbs I found I had no adverse reaction.
I’m on the fertility diet. I do all the limits for protein and fat easily but I can never get the calories up much higher than 1300 with what I eat, I think it’s because I am so particular with regard to sugar & carb stuff. I don’t include any of the veggies I eat in the count and I eat stacks. I have to use a serving salad bowl for lunch as it’s so big and dinner feels like a mountain. Maybe I should try switching to brown rice & sweet potato? I have been having beans as a source of protein which I think maybe I don’t tolerate well (causes me to go to the toilet sorry tmi) so I’ll switch back to 100g of chicken twice a day, or an egg & chicken, and salmon once a week. Or any other protein suggestions within girl sway?
Yes I asked atomic and she said eat whatever! That scares me. I know I overthink everything. Wish I could flick that off switch.
So yeah I’m worried about shocking my body with this stuff. But I have to try my BMI has dropped to 18.3 from 22, which it was in December. weighed myself this morning and I’m almost a kilogram heavier today but that could be AF related. I also ate a lot yesterday and haven’t exercised for 4 days as the weather has been awful & ive felt very weak. I think I need to let go with the diet more.
Really appreciate your advice ABC thank you

Emshe - it sounds like you're doing a perfect PCOS LE diet (ie fertility diet). And that's probably why it's so hard to keep weight on since I know that atomic says people lose weight a lot faster on PCOS LE versus the regular LE (probably as it is so healthy, and the regular LE version is full of sugar!). I really think sugar - not fat - is the biggest enemy in terms of people gaining/being unable to lose weight. I think when people cut out sugar, or even cut back a lot on it, it really changes things in the body and makes you lose weight a lot faster. Seems to have been my experience so far too. Do you ever eat Kind bars? I don't know if you have them where you are - in fact I don't even know where you are - are you in the US? UK? Anyways, I've been eating those lately. They have these "breakfast" ones that have 8 grams of protein in one serving. They aren't completely whole grain but they have nuts, oats, etc. in them. Or maybe there is another type of protein bar that you might try? Those almost always have some sugar in them so that'd give you a little bit of sugar, but it would be balanced a bit with the protein. I agree that potatoes - sweet or regular - would be a good option too as they are pretty "carby", which could help you keep weight on, but I think a lot of people on the PCOS diet eat them. Do you eat dairy? Greek yogurt also has a great amount of protein in it. I'm getting more into lentils and quinoa lately too!
I wish I was as good as you about eating vegetables - I'm just not a big fan!! Although I have started eating more roasted veggies and I do like them that way!
I felt that way - run down, weak, awful - before my last BFP. It's tough. I think the overall lower nutrient diet combined w/ such frequent exercise just really does weaken you after awhile. I barely exercised in the tww before my BFP because I was just so dang tired!

Ill have a look at the bars, I am in AUS. Ive seen the bars with the bear on them here which I noticed in the US. Cant think what they're called. Yeah I have eaten full fat greek style yoghurt everyday pretty much for years and couldnt give that up, i love dipping my apple in it or having it with strawberries and almonds, or on a butter roasted banana. I am very fortunate I love my veges. Roast veg is delicious. I made soup the other day to which was a nice change and there was so much when blitzed down I could barely get through it. I might pop in quinoa, I used that alot before diet as I love it, but thought maybe it was too nutritious?
Sugar maybe my friend right now by the seems, Ill see how I go, its only short term and my body may appreciate it for now. Ill only be having it with meals so there will be the protein there to help balance it out. The app I used to track with showed me hitting 45grams with just the proteins and fruits I was punching in, I don't know what the norm is? Ill try some lollies, as Ive got to try to stick to the fat limit which I already hit.

Weird my reply to hannah has gone for moderation!? I didnt swear I promise (at least I cant remember swearing but the memory isnt what it used to be ;) ) Hannah - thank you and if it doesnt go through, I am cheering you on and hoping beyond hope that this final shot is the BFP you've dreamed of...
Ladies talk me through SMEP!?
Plan of attack after advice from atomic is to start taking clomid on CD5 if pregnancy test is negative, which I am pretty certain it will be. I have been bleeding from Friday which was medium flow, yesterday super heavy and today seems to be slowing a bit. I am normally M, HH, HH, M or L, L. So I think it is a real AF period. Starting clomid later should give my time to start producing estrogen more before blocking it.
So then I was think E4D 72 hour version from day 6. 6,9,12,15,18. Is that a good plan? So do I not need to use opk, or do you still do it just to get clarification on potential ovulation day?
And pbn I dont think I thanked you for your support and understanding. It means so much, especially when in reality you have basically no one around you knows about the rollercoaster you're on and have been on for years and the heartache you've felt silently. Thankyou!

Emshe thank you and its my pleasure. I love still hanging around in these 2ww threads like a bad smell [emoji6] as I remember how good it felt to have a support network when ttc, having losses etc. I did have a tough time, but I'm happy to say it's now in the past and while it may flare up here and there, it no longer has any control of my life. Time truly does heal, some things just heal quicker than others.
So onto SMEP. It was designed for older couples (35+) and is also recommended if you've experienced a loss/es. It involves bding eod (every 48 hours) from cd8 through to pos opk. Bd three days in a row starting at pos opk, skip a day and bd the next. It's ideal if you have an average cycle. For those who have longer cycles you may want to start eod a bit more into your cycle or change it to every 72 hours. As an example, if you do the traditional smep and got a pos opk on cd14 your bding would involve this. Bd on cd8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18.
If you do e4d (72 hour version) then you absolutely don't have to use opks. Yes it may help in determining o day if there's no clear sustained shift but at the end of the day you are guaranteed an attempt that is considered viable so it really just depends on you. The problem with using them doing e4d is getting a pos opk on a non scheduled bd day as it can mess with your head whether to add in an attempt or not which then can add stress about what it would do sway wise.

I'm ok thank you the spotting seems to have stopped so that's good and my husband wants to do a digital test today. My boobs are so sore and I'm really tired other than that I'm good thank you, just very busy working! It all sounds good symptoms but I'm still being very cautious.

Wow! That’s full on. Especially if you go with the trying not to have a big O thing. [emoji24]
I think e4d 72 hour is more for me, otherwise I think I’ll question myself over the 1 attempt. What’s the likelihood that my ov day will change greatly with the altered Clomid days. Think it brought it forward 1 day cycle just gone. What would you knowledgeable ladies do?
I do exercise, Clomid, metformin, fertility diet,
Hubby does OLE and regular release.
Shall quiz atomic too!
Can you have the big O in early days of e4d?

Yes absolutely can have the big o. I don't think its considered much of a sway tactic (not having it) anymore... I think e4d is a really good pattern for pink. It's pretty much only ever one attempt and it's not overdoing the bding.

Some days are good and some are not. Had a bad cheat day yesterday with LE & had way too much to drink last night. Oh well - it's a new day. I probably will be getting my test results sometime this week - which is contributing I think to my stressed/sad mood, as I'm worried about that. No I haven't talked to my RE since the appt last week. Still haven't heard any of the results from the blood tests she ordered. I found out she tested me for 9 different things (blood clotting disorders, genetic defects, chromosome issues). I will ask her about the metformin, as well as CO-Q10. Have you been told anything about CO-Q10 for egg quality?
Pbn3
March 26th, 2018, 09:30 PM
Abc I took coq10 for awhile but it's really expensive in the amounts/dose it needs to be taken to be effective and my ob was sceptical of it making any difference... apparently ubiquinol is best but I couldn't source it as its own thing in Australia when I looked into it...

Its good that they are being so thorough. I really hope they manage to get you sorted, you so deserve a happy sticky BFP. Yes HRC also has their patients take coQ10 about 600-800 from memory but Id ask specifics on dosage as Im a little vague, like Pbn said ubiquinol is best. Very expensive but more easily absorbed by the body. Hubby took a much smaller dose during HT too, I think I gave him 250 a day.
ABC.2606
March 26th, 2018, 10:51 PM
Thanks Pbn and emshe. I took 100 mg of coq10 (ubiquinol) per day between my 2nd m/c and 3rd BFP (so for about 5 weeks). When things looked good at the beginning of the last pregnancy I wondered if the coq10 had helped. Probably didn't, and as we know, things turned out bad anyways. I also don't know if it's a good idea for me as atomic thinks it may make the blood a little more "clotty", and since it seems that the issue that the docs most suspect is going on with me is something related to blood clotting, it may not be a good idea. I don't know - just something to ask the doc about. Meant to do it last week at my appt but I forgot.
Pbn3
March 26th, 2018, 11:49 PM
Abc I wouldn't think 100mg would have made much difference as the recommended dose for improving egg quality (supposedly) is a minimum of 450mg I thought. Like emshe said I think 600mg is the standard base recommendation. You need to find a high dose one, that carries at least 150mg per pill. Just means taking 3-4 a day if you cant get one higher than that.....

Pbn - Oh, so yea I guess my 100 mg of coq10 wouldn't have been doing much then :) I will try to ask the doc about it. Ok ladies, atomic suggests maybe adding in more attempts if it’s my last time ttc.
Would you? Should I? When would I?
I’m leaning no, in case I change my mind. I think for me the mental block is the damn Chinese gender chart. After our first attempt at positive opk cycle gone I couldn’t sleep and grabbed my phone, opened Facebook & there it was FIRST thing in my feed & reads that March & April at my age are girl months! I thought what a sign...

Hi and welcome Parying4girl! Like Abc said, its impossible to say for sure when you ovulated without temping but general rule of thumb is day after pos opk. So if pos opk was Tuesday, then you'd 'assume' o was Wednesday so Thursday would be 1dpo [emoji4] Just keep in mind when testing though that you may be a day or so out so a bfn at *10dpo* (if you stsrt testing then) means nothing as you as you may only be 9dpo or even 8dpo. Clomid will still be in your system next cycle so why not make this cycle your last 'one attempt' cycle and make next cycle possibly your last ttc cycle and go hell for leather [emoji12] Or tell yourself you'll do smep next cycle if this one is a bfn. Emshe - That's not stupid :) I think most of us on here swaying get hung up on little, silly things!! I have!! As far as the Chinese gender chart, I don't think I've found one version of it (and you'll notice that various versions give various results) that has been right for both of my boys - they've all been right for one of them, wrong for the other, or wrong for both LOL!!
I saw atomic's post to you and didn't respond but I kinda agreed with what she was telling you. IF you for sure think this is your last month trying, it may be worth throwing in extra attempts to up your chances of conceiving. It seems to me that you're basically doing a perfect fertility diet, you're exercising (I think?), you're on metformin and clomid - so you've already got a LOT going for you already in terms of your girl sway!!! There have been a few girls I've seen from here lately (Mommy2Apples being one of them) who had more than 1 attempt to up conception odds and still got girls. But - it's up to you! And if you are thinking you may keep trying after this month, maybe you could do E4D this time and then add in extra attempts next time? It's a tough decision, I know!! With each of the months we tried to conceive/ got pregnant I remember having moments of confusion over how exactly to time our attempt, if we needed to add another attempt, if I was going to O in time for our attempt to be good, etc. The "one attempt" aspect of girl swaying I find really hard!! I will say though that this last pregnancy, we ended up with only 1 attempt (we BD-d at +OPK only) and I was really excited about that after getting my BFP (and I have a strong "gut" feeling that baby was a girl). Like Pbn said if you do end up with multiple attempts you need to make sure you'll feel comfortable with that if you do get your BFP and not second guess it too much. Ugh - I don't know it is so hard though to know what to do, I totally get it!! But either way - you still definitely have a great girl sway going on already.
Yea maybe just flip a coin when it comes time, or just try really hard to figure out what your gut is telling you to do and then do that :) :)

I finally got cross hairs, but this is very confusing because I'm pretty sure I ovulated the day of my positive OPK, but my temps are weird, right? I THINK I should get my period tomorrow if my LP stays consistent at 11 days from when I think I Oed. Can anyone help me out with these weird temps? Is this normal to have another shift? Could my LH OPK been wrong or is FF just off? Clearly I'm a temping newbie.

A chemical and miscarriage is a bit different for me. I was bummed but I trust my body that for some reason, it was not a viable egg. The miscarriage was for sure the hardest. He definitely knew about those and did a great job supporting and encouraging during those times.

Kikurose I think either you could be right or ff could be right. Either looks possible to me. You can have multiple surges meaning multiple pos opks in a cycle which is not common but I know of two people personally who would experience two to three occassions of pos opks, proper positives too and days apart with negative ones in between. You did great with continuing your attempts as you're well covered for a later o scenario [emoji3]
So did you not get an attempt in at pos opk?

Kikurose I honestly couldn't tell when you have ovulated, but I'm no expert... Do you normally o so early as your opk would indicate? Was it you whose husband was not at home for a while so you couldn't get attempts in? If that's the case and you're chart is right saying there was no attempt at pos op, then it would be a good thing if you ovulated later? Fx!!!

No clue where i should write this post, but its sway related. Not sure when we will decide to TTC again, but we know we want a second child to hold. Im having a lot of guilt, as if my swaying caused my miscarriage. Did anyone else go through this with their miscarriage? I didnt take prenatal vitamins, but did DHA and folic acid. I have my d&c follow up on Thursday. We'll probably get the go ahead, but i am debating just neither preventing nor tracking or swaying. I was swaying girl and still desperately want a baby girl, but i also don't want to go through another loss.

Sent from my SM-G955UHgmama I'm so sorry again [emoji22] Swaying does not cause miscarriages, it just means something wasn't quite right and the body would not allow the pregnancy to progress. I know you're looking for a reason and the first place we go looking is at ourselves and what we did to cause this... But it's not your fault [emoji173] I did everything by the book to promote a healthly conception and pregnancy and still had losses. I did everything wrong when I gave up ttc and now my dd is laying next to me...
It is entirely up to you what you do swaying wise, how much you do or dont sway is a very personal decision. Do what you're comfortable with [emoji173] I would suggest at least keeping the one attempt tactic via e4d (every 72 hours) OR have hubby release e4d with or without you (condom with you) prior to your one unprotected attempt. This will keep his swimmers in good health.

Verena - That's a beautiful line!! Looks much darker than the past few days!!!
HGMama - I'm so, so sorry about your loss. :( I hope you've been able to get some rest. After my D&C, I stayed in bed most of the first few days depressed and crying (thankfully, my inlaws were visiting so they could watch my kids). It's a terrible thing to have to go through. I know how you feel as far as wondering if swaying contributed to the m/c - I've had a lot of that guilt specifically, especially after my 2nd miscarriage in December. After that one I was convinced swaying had caused it. I even had family members telling me that maybe all my weight loss was the cause (I asked my RE about this and she said definitely not). This time around I felt even more guilt but it wasn't so much about swaying - it was more about if I did something after getting pregnant that caused the miscarriage. But moral of the story, I think guilt is a very natural instinct/emotion after miscarriages. I've been reading a lot about miscarriage in the past few weeks and I see that theme repeatedly - that women usually feel guilty, they blame themselves for all kinds of things that must have "caused" the miscarriage, when it really is nothing that they did. So I think what you're feeling is normal - and it's not exclusive to women who sway.
I don't think, like Pbn said, that swaying causes miscarriages... but here's a few things I'd throw out there as you're thinking through this. One - were you doing the "atomic fertility"/LE PCOS version of the diet? Because I think that's actually a very healthy diet - you're supposed to eat a lot of fruits/veggies, whole grains, no/little white flour/sugar, as well as 4-6 eggs per week, salmon or beef once per week, and you can have small amounts of other meat like chicken. The protein and fat limits are a little higher too. If you weren't doing that version of the diet before and are feeling concerned about the effects of swaying maybe you could try that version? As far as it swaying, Atomic actually thinks it's more effective than the regular LE diet. Also, I have read articles about caffeine and alcohol pre-conception contributing to m/c risk. I know lots and lots of women on here are consuming a lot of caffeine and daily alcohol and do just fine but it is something I've decided to be more careful about. I have switched entirely to decaf coffee (naturally processed/swiss water processed, so it doesn't have all the chemicals of normal decaf) - both because of my m/c's and because I have an underlying health condition that's aggravated by caffeine. So while I'm still doing 3-4 cups of coffee per day for my sway, I get almost no caffeine per day (and yes I'm more tired lately LOL!). And I still think the decaf is probably helping my sway. I still drink a fair amount of wine but I'm thinking as we get closer to trying again (if we do, and if so it wont be for at least another month), I'm probably going to cut this back and limit it to a glass of red every couple of days or so. And as far as exercise, if anything I think that's a very healthy habit pre-conception, especially as for swaying you're supposed to do moderate cardio (60 minutes), not some crazy high intensity exercise. And one attempt or E4D, especially if DH is releasing regularly (not abstaining) is definitely a good tactic still and not in any way risky.
Also - I would ask atomic about this - but after my 1st or 2nd m/c (I honestly can't remember) she recommended taking zinc 3x/week, iron I think 3x/week, and a low dose of vitamin D and B12 twice a week. She also had me up my folate intake (not folic acid, specifically folate) from 1,600 mcg per day to 2,400. Again - I'd ask her about any supplement recommendations but that's what she told me.
Anyways - hope that's helpful. It's tough I know. After 3 m/c, I'm now undergoing all the testing for "recurrent pregnancy loss" and that's very stressful as well. Remember you're not alone - so many on here have had such difficult journeys trying to conceive and stay pregnant and we're all here for support whenever you need!!!

HGmama, I also agree with above comments about guilt. I continue to wonder if I caused it every time I see a new headline (this week it was -maybe i shouldn't have gotten a flu shot on the first trimester....). My doctor said it was likely genes unfolding wrong, nothing I could have done. Guilty feelings are normal but thus wasn't your fault.

I don't think atomic knows for sure what in coffee sways but I've seen her say several times that it may not be the caffeine but some ingredient in coffee itself that sways, amd that's what I've seen when I've googled coffee and blood sugar. And soda with caffeine doesn't sway. Plus I've actually read caffeine can be bad for blood sugar levels and people with pcos. So I'm inclined to think decaf still helps. :) :)

Something I’ve been meaning to ask, do you change to a new handle with the Clearblue dual each cycle. I hadn’t and after reading about how it works with remembering previous levels to determine rise I think maybe I should. I do have a new one...
Btw, I’m having a spelt hot cross bun tonight as my “3rd meal” is that terrible?!

https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/35220bEmshe no need to change tester heads but if you have a new one you may as well use it. Keep the old one though as a back up. The tester head resets itself after 48 hours from previous solid smiley and will begin a new cycle when the first test cartridge is inserted
