Did you only have dreams of one gender? I've had both haha. Unless we get surprised with twins at the anatomy scan! Unless physically seeing the baby is the key, in which case DD was correct and this would be boy?! I had a strong dream my SIL had a girl for her last (and I was right!).

I'll never shake or forget that vivid dream of twin boys BEFORE even conceiving twins accidentally back in January for these reasons...

@ABC: It's not constant though, which is good. I hope your appointment tomorrow is reassuring!! Please rest and stay hydrated today!!

I only had a dream about one gender.
With my sister, I had a dream we could take out of the belly and play with her she was wearing a dress. My oldest held a sign that said I’m a boy. My nephew my dream was she brought him home from the hospital. With Emmalyn she was a 1 year old running around naked. Lol she looked just like my youngest boy.

Hey guys, had my 12 week scan today and everything looked great with the baby. I was so relieved and excited.
Of course there had to be a- but. Can't have a pregnancy without some worry hanging over us. During the scan they found a mass in my bowel. I didn't think much of it at the time. The ultrasound technician didn't seem too perturbed and said it's normal to get constipated and could be that, even though I haven't been constipated.

My obstetrician sort of went from 0 to a 100. She's sending me for an MRI and to a specialist for that sort of thing. And she was already talking about the safety of operating in the second trimester. That kinda got me in a panic. And a little down that we couldn't enjoy the fact that everything was fine with the baby for a minute.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180730/cbc97bd153dbeb850d00e28a0f2f280a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180730/02adb2d1d101394680394fbbfc3ade0e.jpg

Omg simkan, that's SO scary!! Did they say anything about what they suspect it could be?? I am so hoping it's not anything serious (especially if the tech thought it was poop at first!).

I'm so sorry this took away from the joy of the scan, too. Especially since that is such a girly nub!!!!

simkan
July 30th, 2018, 07:16 AM
They didn't say what it could be at all. My guess is- actually poop or undigested food that could need help moving along (hoping)
A cyst, swelling, a little hernia or worst case a tumor.

I had cancer when I was a baby so that is possibly why my OB went straight to worst case scenario. The weird thing is my grandfather who was a dr, diagnosed my first tumor while playing with me when I was 7 months old. Which ended up saving my life as the cancer was stage 4 then. And we've been planning to name her after him. So would be really odd if this turns out to be something sinister that was found because of her.
I'm not really worried that it's that. I feel like my bloods would have shown something too, plus I have 0 side effects and it wasn't there at my 8 week ultrasound. I just wish this could have happened after she was born. I could handle any of it if it wasn't going to cause any risk to her.

Beautiful baby Simkan ❤️ Hopefully nothing is wrong and they are just being overly cautious.
ABC good luck with your scan today and hopefully your bleeding has stopped!!

I have my 12 week ultrasound today and I’m so nervous it’s making me nauseous. I’m looking for the nub and so scared it’s going to be boyish ☹️

Simkan, oh man, I'm so sorry. I hope you get answers soon, and I pray it's just something easy. BUT, baby girl is healthy! Hallelujah!

Noemi, Okay, August 9th isn't so far off. Can't wait to see that bean soon. And thanks, I hope to be around soon in the other due date forum as well :)

ABC, praying for you today too and that everything looks good. How's the spotting??

Simkan I hope everything is ok!!! That seems a little premature of the OB to go to the worst scenarios - hoping it's just something minor! Beautiful bub too!!!

Thanks Cassidy! Hope your scan goes well too - let us know!!

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling pretty confident it won't be anything major if it's even still there when I go for the MRI. Everything I've read online says that even with a partial blockage you can't pass gas or anything. And I haven't had any constipation issues as of yet and show no other signs of a problem. I really think the whole thing has been a bit of a premature panic.
Thanks again guys. Will keep you posted

Appointment went well! Babies are measuring perfectly and both have heart rates above 160. Placentas & cervix look great. No idea what is causing the spotting but doctor is not too concerned at this point. Just seems to be something I’m prone to in pregnancy.

I was hoping the tech could give me some reassurance that the NIPT was right about gender but nope! She said babies were too curled up, couldn’t see anything. No good nub shots either. In this pic Baby B is facing us - so no help there. I don’t see anything in Baby A’s pic (left), do you guys?

Omg ABC, what a joy to see those babies. I am so happy they're doing well, and yeah, maybe you just have that annoying cervix! Though after all you've been through, I'd have hoped you could have less stress!!

And I am also always happy to see the heartrates. You literally have one of each and they both have 160! Makes me feel less stressed about our baby's heartrates (though I looked at my old app with DD and hers were always 130s! so clearly it means little!).

Def don't see nubs, but maybe Baby A is your boy based on skull?

Yea I have a feeling Baby A may be the boy. At 8 weeks you could clearly see the placentas in my photos and A's seemed to be very much on the right (left on the screen but right on my body, I think) and B's clearly on the left side. Baby A is measuring 2 days ahead and B is right on target. And I thought the same about the skulls - even in my 10 week photo A's skull looks more boyish while B's more girlish. Ugh - would just have liked to get some clear "visual evidence" today of their genders - LOL!! But I guess that'll have to wait :(

Yea A's HB was 161 I think and B's was 167 - so basically the same and both in the "girl range"! I really think the HB think is crap, personally. (Although I shouldn't talk since I still believe Ramzi even though I know it's never been proven!).

I know - the spotting thing is really frustrating. It's probably going to keep happening and I'll probably just have to get used to it - given that I had it with both boys too. Something about my body (most likely my cervix) is just prone to that. As long as it's nothing wrong with the babies I guess I'll just deal with it! Today was an encouraging ultrasound at least.

Have an appointment today! Not expecting a scan, but I still get so, so anxious before any. I've been feeling movement periodically for the last 2 weeks or so, but I feel like I can't remember in the last day or two if I've felt any (which I know I'm too early for it to matter, AND I have that crazy all around placenta), but still anxious I'll go in and something will be wrong :(

In the meantime, I'm obsessing over OWT which I need to stop...

Scan went well! Midwife actually said she thinks I don't have anterior placenta since I felt movement early, but I pointed out that I felt early movement with DD despite one too! Just such a weird mix of feelings to feel movement regularly -- but just early enough that I've already started freaking out if I don't feel it enough! So just going to be some anxious weeks until it should be daily movement.

I've also been a bit anxious that I'm feeling early movement like with DD and if that means this one is a girl too :/

I had a few dreams it was boy #3 for me, and Im getting a vague 'mamas intuition' feeling. Its not as strong as the other two, but its there. I was right with them, and the only one who thought boy for DS2 since that pregnancy was so different than DS1.

Don't worry that feeling early movement means a DD, I think you just feel movement earlier after the first baby as you know what you are feeling sooner and maybe because everything is bit more stretched in there. With DS1 I didn't feel movement til 20w, with DS2 it was around 15 w, with this little one I swear I felt movement at 14 w and definitely at 15w when I did my OGTT as Bub went nuts with the sugary drink.

Are we about due for a new thread?! Haha, I don't think any of the EDD groups are following the 50 page rule!

In other news, I got a referral for physical therapy. My hips and low back have been really, really bad for awhile, even with chiropractic now. I joked to my midwife that I must be really good at making relaxin, and she said they actually have observed that there is a "cumulative effect" to exposure and that my almost nonstop being pregnant for 3 years has probably taken its toll. Has anyone else had it get this bad with subsequent pregnancies? I'm only just showing but am already waddling at times, having constant back spasms from any activity... I am so happy baby is doing well, but I'm worried I'll be bedbound by the holidays :nails:

So glad your scan went well!!!! I don't think feeling baby has anything to do with gender! I do think it's impressive though that if you do have an anterior placenta (and did with DD) that you can feel them so early!! I felt DS2 later than DS1 (about 20/21 weeks versus 17 weeks with DS1), and I had an anterior placenta with him. I don't know what it was with DS1 though. It really bothered me that it took longer to feel DS2! Both of these babies have anterior placentas so who knows when I'll feel them. Still can't get over the idea that I'll be feeling two sets of feet kicking me though LOL.

Eighme hope your scan went well!!!!

I've had this with every pregnancy! It was due to baby pressing on a nerve in my spine. Started only at about 37 weeks with first. Then 30 weeks with second. And I already started feeling it week 10 with this one. Though it has gone away now, I do expect it to come back. A smiley belt helps alleviate the pressure. And the physio will give you some good stretches. Totally makes sense that it would be happening early because of all the pregnancies. I've had just under 2 year between 1 and 2 and then 17 months between 2 and now. And I think even that break has had an effect.

I’m so glad you said this! Mine is awful this round. I even get a grinding noise in my lower back, tailbone area when I walk sometimes. It’s horrible! I really think there’s something to the “cumulative effect” for sure!

I was bad by the end of first preganancy, needed physiology referral by beginning of third trimester with second (but bad hip and back pain from about 20 weeks) and now needing physiology referral this time at 16 weeks. Already my back and hips are playing up and the sciatic pain is like it was at the end of my first two pregnancies. Hope you can get some relief as it makes for a long painful pregnancy.

Thanks ladies for chiming in! It's actually not sciatica, which confuses my chiro haha. But that grinding feeling is totally similar to what I'm feeling! That and just immense tightness no matter the stretching, adjustments, etc. It's almost a burning pain across my low back and hips? I just can't get over how frequently I'm waddling and many people still aren't even sure I'm pregnant yet!! I'm definitely guessing my hips will never return to pre-pregnancy size now too with how much they "relax" XD

And just wanting to say how thankful I am for this group again. I'm in a lot of loss groups elsewhere, and one of the ones I still talk in a lot had a post last night where everyone was shitting on people with gender disappointment "because they should be happy even to be getting a living baby." I debated whether or not to say anything, but since I don't shy away from stuff, I said something and am now awaiting the shitstorm.

It just sucks, because I have to wrestle with those feelings everyday. I SHOULD be happy to get a living baby. I am really psyching myself up to be, and even realized after seeing some young babies in my life for the first time the other day, I WILL be happy to get any living baby. But after making and losing sons, of course I'm going to ache for a boy even more than I was before.

I should note, too, the whole conversation started because of a woman freaking out about her baby having a heartbeat of 150 when she really wanted a boy :P

This is my 7th pregnancy, 6th baby and 3rd pregnancy in 3 years. My back and hips have been killing me too! And feeling like they are burning. Towards the end of my last pregnancy my pelvis started splitting? ( can’t remember what that’s called) and it’s already started with this pregnancy! I was really hoping I wouldn’t have that this time and I hope it doesn’t get worse. I will have to start going to the chiropractor again, but it only helps for a short period of time.
