Hobber, please don't get disappointed about anything yet......you could be all worried and upset for the next 10 weeks only to find out that it is a boy and you tortured yourself for nothing. Try to stay on the fence about it if you can and stay positive....I think it is better for your baby for you to feel good inside.

I know I shouldn't stress about it, but I really feel that my sway didn't work. We are staying team green, so I won't know until birth anyway. Thanks for the pep talk, though. :)

Why do you need one??? I would go for an Organic Liq one since it would be chemical free and easily absorbed!

Yeah for team green! If we get preggo, I totally want to go that way! Enjoy the pregnancy without stressing over the gender. I think it would be easier for me not to get gd if I have a precious baby in my arms rather than waiting 5 more months!

That was my thought originally, but my GD has already set in. I KNOW this baby is a girl, so I already wish I hadn't been so stupid as to sway. :( Plus, and I have had 3 psychics say this baby is a girl, so that just made me feel worse.

Thanks for the reassurance, flava. I'm just not feeling it... I know this baby is a girl. I was hoping I could have a boy since I have a son already, but I think I should have just quit while I was ahead.

I hope your sway works and you get that baby boy!! WHen are you planning your attempt?

well you just think you know because you feel the sway didn't worked so it's a girl. But yeah could be a boy for sure!I hope it's your boy!
For me thanks I really want a boy but this is my sway #3 so what should I say?Im the one who should not sway anymore...so tired of "it's a girl" i love my girls but just once to hear "it's a boy!" would be so awesome! I guess that's why we try one last time.
After my second AF .Waiting for the first AF to show up I have no idea about my cycle so have to use FF again on CD1. Maybe next week i guess.

No I haven't been tempting, I haven't been doing anything cause I am not swaying this cycle just going with the flow and see what happens. Yeah it is normal for my CM to switch back and forth all the time.

If I am not pregnant this month I am thinking of having a few months off, so I will probably start using OPT and try to temp next time I ttc.

So I went to the toilet and when I wiped I had some EWCM on the toilet paper and that hardly ever happens, usually have to check my cervix to find some.
My cervix feels softer then usual so not sure if O is happening.
We haven't DTD for about 5days so think we should do it tonight just incase, what do you think?

Yep go for it!!!

TTC5
February 9th, 2012, 05:53 PM
hobber-for sure you can have a boy in there!

just like ttc5 but for some reason I think she is a done deal , she got a boy.

lbam- we have to start temping I so hate that alarm...and thinking oh if I was up to pee then now this temp is not right? ugh...I don't care I will only temp just to see my cycle and I pee all night if I want to! lol

For the weight loss yeah I lost 18 lbs but still have 19 left on me lol. I just eat very little and run around outside with the kids. This is the only cooler time around here so we can go out!

Oh I hope your right Flava!!! xxx Can't wait for you to start trying!!!

Thank you to everyone who looked at my chart. I have never had an Anovulatory Cycle before, but doing google searches it seems it is quite common. Never mind, i will just keep eating eggs and drinking pills blah blah blah.

Cinss I agree that your chart looks anovulatory. It is relatively common. Did you have a lot of stress this month? That can sometimes halt it. I've had one anovulatory cycle since I've been charting. I kept trying to spot O dates on it, but finally decided that it just didn't happen. I had a normal cycle the next month, though. FX for you!

I know, it does get old! Just know on this site that the diet is really endless like Cinss said, you just want to be sure to eat protein and carbs together for lunch, and a nice side of greens and fruit is always good too. The rule of thumb is to be as healthy as possible for a boy, and intaking 9 servings of fruit and veggies a day is the rule, although it can be hard to do!

I put avocados in my salads....you can also drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar over it and eat it kind of antipasto style (like an appetizer). Maybe sprinkle a bit of salt on it also. I really think they are excellent for swaying blue.

And you guys, no feeling defeated!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hobbs, I know you are already pg, but you very well may have a boy in there, and you are just making yourself miserable for nothing! For the swayers, you need to feel like this is a competition that you are going to WIN. Get that testosterone kickin'! And you all are upping your blue odds with swaying, so please don't feel dejected before you even begin.

It's hard not to feel like it is impossible when you have had 4 failed sways that got better and more in-depth with each child conceived....not to mention the 4 losses that happened during that time.

Most people don't even know what it feels like to get the same gender 5 times over!! While everyone else around you eventually seems to get an opposite.

Thank you everyone for saying I could be carrying a boy... but I promise you, I am not. I am absolutely, positively SURE my sway failed. I will HAPPILY pay everyone on this site 10 bucks if my sway worked and I give birth to a baby boy!!

All I can do is offer my advice to everyone. Make sure you are set on your sway plan, and DON'T CHANGE IT just because it is taking you longer to conceive than you thought. I had perfect attempts for 2 months, and the one month I changed things up a bit, I O'ed early, and the entire sway got screwed. Now I get to regret it for the rest of my life. It SUCKS.

I'm trying to remember, what happened with the timing of your bd? Was it after O? I ended up with a weird attempt this month...had 3 low temps in a row and EWCM, so we dtd, and next morning had a temp rise, but then for some ODD reason, my temp dipped back down this morning and I still had a +opk and lots more EWCM, so we DTD again to be sure...I'm not holding much hope in my attempt either, and it seems strange things happen with everyone's cycles when trying to sway! Here's the link to my chart...My Ovulation Chart (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3967ba)

I think your timing will be perfect! THat is what I was going for--I was hoping for O-4, O-2 and O. But for some screwball reason, I O'ed the same day I got + opk (that had never happened before--I always O 24-36hrs after a +opk) on CD12 (I also never O on CD12, always CD13 or 14 or occasionally 15), so I ended up with O-3, O-1 and O+1. Horrible timing. I thought the high temp on CD13 was a fluke, so that's why we DTD that day. But then my temp stayed up. I know everyone says timing doesn't matter, but I can't stomach the fact that I didn't DTD on O day! We DTD around midnight on CD11, so I guess it could have been close to O, depending on what time I ovulated that next day... but who knows. The only thing I am happy about was that I O'ed right on the full moon, but I doubt that holds very much weight. I also O'ed on the cusp between moon signs... I would have O'ed in a boy moon sign if I hadn't O'ed early.

LBAM, sorry that things didn't turn out the way you wanted. It's so hard when one of you is tired, feels like a chore sometimes doesn't it? Will you try next month?

Yahmama, FX for you! Looking at your chart, I think you O'd Friday. Is that right? I guess you have to see if your temps go up first.

Lola, it sounds like you have the right frame of mind. If you expect the worst you can't be too disappointed right? Well, in theory anyway. Still, I hope this month is the one!

babyblessing, thankyou :) That's great that the microscope is working for you. Are you temping as well? My pH is low too, around 5.5-6 but, I don't care anymore. I don't even really think it has any influence to be honest.

Flava, I take Elevit for my prenatal. I don't think it's available outside Australia though. I know what you mean about DH's face if they say this next baby is a girl, I don't want to see that look either. I will feel like a total failure, even though I know that the idea is absolutely absurd.

Hobber, you only 'think' it's a girl. How can you 'know'? You can't feel defeated based on a few predictions. You just don't know until the baby is born! Why do you think that timing is messed up? Was your CM still EW on your O+1 attempt?

POP, good luck! How's the 2ww treating you?

So, 7dpo for me today. Still having cramps every day. Hoping it's a good sign :)

Flava - you can mush up avacado into any pasta sauce, creamy ones work really well, but tomato ones are good too, then serve that over grilled chicken on rice, or any meat or pasta.

Hobber I would guess you conceived from the day 11 BD and to me that sounds like good timing. I know from experience that it's impossible not to obsess now, but try not to feel too many regrets.

My biggest regret w/ Honor is that I let myself have a really crummy pregnancy the first half...I wish I'd taken better care of myself and not worried so much that I didn't get my DG. I don't want to sound preachy but I would like to help another mama not feel so much pain (and I feel it was unfair to Honor).

Overall you had made the changes to change your own internal environment... I do think there is something to timing, but I think diet/lifestyle makes a MUCH bigger difference. Keeping you in my thoughts :)

Yes, I had a lot of CM on CD13, as well as my cervix being "SHOW". I really thought I O'ed CD13. But because my temp never went down, I can't say for sure. The night before I had the weird high temp, I didn't sleep well, and was awake for a long time before I took my temperature in the morning (I was still in bed, but was awake about a 1/2 hr). So that could have caused me to THINK I O'ed on CD12 when I actually did O on CD13? But I will never know. It doesn't matter now, because what is done is done. But I am just such a catastrophic thinker. In hindsight, swaying was probably a really bad choice for me. I wish we could have afforded high tech.

I hope you are right, and the timing was okay. I really did change my lifestyle a LOT with this sway--I have noticed since becoming pregnant how differently I was eating while swaying. So I really hope that made a difference.

And I appreciate the advice about taking care of myself. I know I will love the baby regardless, but it is going to be hard if it is a girl. It took me a long time to come around to DD2.

We DTD at almost midnight on CD11, so it was almost CD 12, technically. But who knows WHEN I ovulated. And the CD12 temp is the one in dispute. I tried discarding it, but FF still says that was O day.

I think your timing is good if you get a shot in there today! I was worried about lower sperm count a little, but atomic says that you have to DTD a bunch in a row (like 4 or 5 days) for that to happen.

Cinss- So glad the witch left you early so you can get on with your attempt this month! FX for you! Oh, and I did BS douche for all my attempts, and it is MUCH easier than BSF! I think it's safer too since you can't accidentally get the bs on your cervix! THe one time I tried bsf I did and it burned like crazy!

Bec & Soni- Hoping this month is it for you gals! When do you think you will test?

LBAM- definitely check in with us on how you're doing. I think I might take a break if I don't get preggo this month as I've put on too much weight on this high everything diet!! But then if I lose weight, I'll have to wait longer to put a little back on for a boy sway--oh too much to think about! But will be thinking of you!

So, if you guys remember, I had a trigger again this cycle. I had it 12 days ago now. I tested 3 days ago and it was a bfn so obviously it's out of my system, well I assume so anyway. Tested again yesterday and there was a faint, faint line on a 25 sensitivity test. It was so faint that DH thought I was a little crazy, but he could see it. Tested again this morning with FMU on a FRER and got a faint line and tested with a 25 sensitivity test again and there was a clearly visible line, way darker than yesterday. I just pray it is for real and not the trigger lingering. It's a good sign it's getting darker I guess. Arghh, I hope this is it! I am only 9/10dpo today so it's really early as well.

Cinss & Yahmama, thanks for the kind words on the + opks. Is that what a darker one means? That was the first month that I have ever noticed that. Usually they stay the same darkness once they are positive.

Anyway, if I O'ed on CD13, that makes me feel INFINTELY better about my sway. That means I O'ed in a male moon sign, and I had attempts on O-4, O-2 and O. :) Since there is no way to prove any of it, I will just hope that's really what happened. :)

I never did the douche (I think it would wash away CM) but I did the BSF. I don't know if it helped or not, but I did it before each attempt. It was easy and I know it helped get my pH up. I think you should just do what you are comfortable with. I only asked because I wasn't sure what the protocol was with DTD every other day after AF to O?

WOO HOO! If you went to negative before, I would say you should be celebrating, Bec! Congrats, hon!!!! It is indeed a good sign if it's getting darker. So thrilled for you!!!! What month of ttc would this be for you now?

Haha..that's funny b/c I actually have a yamaha piano :) It's my initials+mama :) We dtd on cd14,16 & 17 so hoping we caught the egg! I first thought I o'd on cd14 since i had the spike in temp on cd15, but it went back down again, so we dtd again, then I had a darker opk on cd17 and tons of O pain, so we dtd again (30 hrs. after dtd on cd16) so I hope it didn't affect sperm count doing it 2 days in a row. THat's the only thing i'm worried about...

Yes, I agree we know our bodies better! It's hard for FF to pinpoint it too when things don't always fall into 24 hr. increments. I know it was early am on cd17, so it's close enough to what it says, but we dtd am on cd 16, which would be about 24 hrs. before O then we dtd at noon on cd 17, which would be about 6 hours after O...so I would have liked it closer, but oh, well. Worrying won't change anything now...

I think you did just good! And don't worry about 2 days in a row. Actually Im planing to do that! Every other day if we can or 3 days and then the 2 days .Like before O and on O if I can well see.Atomic says to lower count you have to do it for like 7 days .2 is nothing.

With my son, we had just had 2 miscarriages in a row, so I was just plain old worried about having kids at all! We dtd every other day with him...I still have the chart (on paper) where I did my temps with him and I'm pretty sure I O'd on one of the days we dtd.

You put the link from FF into your signature. Go to the sharing button at the top of FF to get the code to copy. GL this month! How long have you been charting? I think that's the most important thing--to be aware of your CP, CM & temps to be able to determine when O has happened! Are you doing any sups, diet or other sway factors?

ok thanks I will try that
I have been charting for a few months
The supplements I am currently taking are
EPO 1000mg
Co Q 10
Prenatal
Vit D3
Wheatgrass tablets 2x daily
folic acid
fish oil
Vit E
My diet consists of at least 25grams of protein per meal with the same amount of carbs with a fruit or veggie 3 meals a day and then my snacks are usually almonds, rice cakes with peanut butter, fruit and veggies, dried apricots, and whey protein shakes, so I eat a total of around 6 times a day usually every 2hrs. As a treat before bed I usually have some dark choclolate.
I do weight training faithfully 2x's a week but somtimes I make it there 3
The only thing I drink is water or green tea, and sometimes I put lemon in my water but not everytime.
I haven't tested my PH because it was driving me crazy, but naturally my PH is pretty low I think like 6.5. So I was thinking of using Pre-Seed or doing the BSF, and going to make my hubs have a red bull or something right before BD.
As far as timing goes Im thinking O-2 and O? Does this sound ok?

Yes! That's a pretty classic sway there! Don't stress about the ph thing, that has also been proven to not matter. I would definitely add some preseed if you notice that your ewcm is lacking. The goal of the green tea and fish oil and lots of stuff is to increase your natural ewcm, but if you don't get that effect (I don't), you can just sub the preseed. Sounds like you got it going on , girl!

ITA about FF not knowing it all. Just to experiment I sometimes change my temps by 0.1-0.2 of a degree and with just that little difference it changes my O date. Seems really silly.

And if FF is right for me this month then I was only 8dpo when I got a bfp, not 9dpo like I actually think.

Your sway sounds great. That timing is good, but as we all know it doesn't always work out like that. You could always just try DTD every second day if you are comfortable with that, and that way you are guaranteed to get at least two attempts in the window.

Not sure if someone has mentioned it but Atomic doesn't recommend whey protein when swaying for a boy. It contains ingredients that may have an impact on fertility. My DH is a whey protein junkie and is dying to get back on it!

MFC Fx for your gender scan.

Yeah FF can be a little off I guess. I had 2 high temps and then a lower one the day after I got a +ve OPK. The lower one could be a fluke. The temps after that rose again but FF refused to give me crosshairs till I took off that low temp. I am a light sleeper and get up often during the night so I don't know if I should trust my temps.

If I remember correctly, it's because it's like "fake" protein and not the real deal, but I may be way off about that. I think protein alternatives are not considered that great for fertility in general, but I will tell you that I drank a whey protein shake (and so did my ex-DH) every day when both of our girls were conceived!

Like Lola said, the 'fake' protein isn't as good as protein from other sources. But whey protein also contains a heap of other ingredients and it's those ingredients that aren't good for you. I think it indirectly sways pink by potentially reducing fertility. It may not be that bad but I didn't want to take the chance. I'll see if I can find the info for you.

dloui, I couldn't find what I was looking for but I found a few random things that Atomic said....

I LOVE Larabars (all the flavors are great, they really literally have only 3 or 4 ingredients and they are all natural) but some of the Odwalla bars are also good. (NOT the "original super protein" ones, but Blueberry, Chocowalla, Strawberry/pomegranate, ChocChip Peanut Butter, and Superfood are all ok.) The ones you have to watch for are the ones that are superhigh in protein, because they usually get their protein from whey proteins or soy proteins (avoid anything that lists "Isolated soy protein" as an ingredient - other sources of soy like soy lecithin, soy nuts, and soy butter are ok because they are less processed and only present in small amounts.) Soy and whey proteins are highly processed and artificial, and your body doesn't quite know what to do with them. Better to have 6 g real protein in a Larabar than 14 g phony protein in an "Original Super Protein" bar.

I think it's best to avoid the protein shakes/powder because they're kinda artificial and it's not certain how much of that protein your body even utilizes. Some people think that soy/whey proteins may even be bad for fertility.

I'm a bit excited that there could be more than one because I had three follies!

Bec, FX it's twins! Wouldn't that be perfect? There are the cutest twin boys in Kindergarden at my kid's school, and I see them and their adorable mom every day when I pick mine up. Some days it makes my eyes well up with tears.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR MFC'S UPDATE!

It worked, My DS is getting a brother!! Tech said it's 100% a boy. The baby wasn't in a very good position, but I did see his wee wee a couple of times. The tech looked a few different times to make sure it's a boy. She even told me I could go shopping and It's not going to change. It's so HARD for me to believe it. I will post the pics in a little bit.

Sorry to be such a downer but I was just driving to work thinking about MFC and how thrilled she sounds (I am so happy for you hon). I realised I have NEVER been thrilled like that over a baby gender. I wanted my first to be a boy, when she announced it was a girl I had a fleeting moment of disappointment then thought "I will have a boy next". Yeah right!! I would of been happy having 5 girls if I had had that first boy...the older brother.

I love my girls and am now happy to be honest that I have 5 girls...but OMG how I long to just experience that excitment to be getting EXACTLY what I wanted. I just have this deep down feeling that I won't be the one who gets a boy after 5 girls....I will be the one who has girl#6.

Sorry that you are feeling like this PoP. I think alot of us feel that we won't be 'lucky' enough to have a boy after having just girls. But we just have to think positively. There is always hope that we will have boys and we can't lose sight of that :)

I hope from the bottom of my heart that everyone here is getting their gender dreams to come true.

After 2 girls, My DH and I have now successfully swayed twice and got 2 boys!! I'm so happy to be giving my DS a little brother.

The most important thing was praying and praying, I pray alot and continuing to pray for a healthy baby and pregnancy!

I skipped many cycles just trying to do my best to get everything right, that was hard for me to wait and do it all over again.. I waited more than one year!!! I had a m/c then started ttc. Really it wasn't easy.

So ladies give it your all each month ..So well worth it for peace of mind knowing you did everything that you could do. I will post my sway later.

I know what you mean hon...but I haven't just had 5 girls...I lost a baby after #1 (gender unknown)...then lost twins after #2 (gender unknown), then another baby after #4, then 2 more after #5....for all I know they could all have been girls too!!

we lost 3 i didn't know the genders of. for all i know they could have been girls too. i honestly thought my husband couldn't make boys. as soon as i stopped stressing out and swaying i got pregnant with a boy. maybe it was all the stress? however i read somewhere that male embryos are more fragile then the females so even though you are more likly to get pregnant with a boy (52%) most times a miscarriage occurs its probably a boy. its natures way of making it a more even male to female ratio. so maybe we did have boys? good luck, your chances for a boy are super high now when you do get pregnant again! keep trying

Why is it so hard to believe ? You already had a successful sway before so you had a good chance!

This sway was less than my DS sway, that's why I was so scared ..With my DS I drank lot of nasty drinks like ACV, etc. This time I was sick of them I dropped some of them. My pH was a little low, I had no EWCM, no matter how much I tried to have some, but nothing worked. I used EW's anyways. I really think it helped me.

I did the same diet as I did with my DS (IG diet) I concentrate on alkaline and potassium food AND I also did the HE diet.

Yeah this will be my last too flava, we can't physically have more than 6 children. I am starting to believe I either can't keep boy pregnancies and all my losses were boys...or I just can't make em. My last 2 children were conceived on full moon's in the Leo sign, with preseed and BS finger, after 6 months of supps, massive amounts of my own EWCM due to sups, one was doggy style the other was legs over shoulders, both timed on day of ovulation and I had been charting for 6 months, I had been on a boy diet from another site for 6 months....the baby I lost between them had a similar sway too. I fell pregnant with all 3 first attempt. I have fallen pregnant with all 10 pregnancies on the first attempt and the only ones I haven't swayed with were DD#1 and my last 2 losses. I had honestly given up hope that swaying works, I have seen too many perfect sways by myself and others fail...and other people get a fluke without doing anything different. Then I came here and saw something different and how can you not hope maybe this is the trick!!

LolaInLove
February 16th, 2012, 03:53 PM
Who knows if it really works....I think it all depends on whether or not you are willing (and able) to keep swaying and having hope about it.

And ya know what, there are SO many mamas with 3 of a kind or more having their 4th and their desired gender right now on this site....no reason to think you can't also!

Flava
February 16th, 2012, 03:58 PM

Exactly the same what I was thinking. This HE diet make so much sense and it's different for the IG diet. So now we try and hope. I really don't think there is anything else out there what we can try. On HT but we do not have money for that.
Same options for me about the lost pregnancy's too. 1 -they where all girl or 2 -I lost all the boys .
Actually I hate hoping .I wish I can stop it because i really don't want to hope anymore after this last baby.
