Thanks for this thread! A new Aussie here.

Just checking if Aussies are still on pregnancy vitamins? Like elevit or blackmores?

If you are wanting a girl, only folic acid is recommended unless you need other vitamins for a particular deficiency- good luck.

So finally the year of TTC! Not until mid year so have a few months to get my butt into gear. I am seriously overwhelamed though! No idea where to start.

Just start slowly babybells. Any changes you make will help. just start by trying to drop snacking between meals and having your breakfast later each day if you can't cut it out altogether. If you can stick to the LE diet limits most days (40-60g fat, 40-50g protein 1500-1800 cals) then that is great but just decreasing the snacking and amount of fat and meat you eat will really help. Just make sure to not cut back too much otherwise you can mess up your ovulation. I was on the LE diet for 6 months before I got my bfp, it was hard in the beginning but I got used to it after a while. Also low carb veggies are unlimited so they can really fill you up if you are getting hungry (still have them with your meal though if you can). I think my bub must be 1/3 potato, and at least 1/3 cucumber!

Welcome and good luck with your sway Iwant4kids.
Some of my staple meals while I was on the LE diet were baked potatoes (med/large potato baked with no added fat and topped with a little homemade coleslaw, low fat cheese or low fat sour cream), veggie burgers (home made or store bought) on a roll with salad and one of my favourite lunches/dinners was a pizza using mission round pizza base (only 280 cals, 8g protein in the base) topped with tomato, mushrooms, little bit of cheese and pineapple. Veggie stifry with rice or noodles is also a good option as you can use different veg/sauces to keep it interesting. Pasta with a veg bases sauce is also good. If I needed a sweet treat I loved skinny cow I cream cups too (low fat, 120 cal). Hope this helps

I used to devour a cucumber a day with a little black swan skinny tzaziki dip as part of my dinner, helped fill me up with very little cals/fat/protein.

Just wondering what fruit and vege are most Aussie girls sticking too?

Kelbear
January 4th, 2017, 12:00 AM
I think you can eat almost any fruit and veg you like, some you count cals others you don't. Low cal veg (eg lettuce, mushrooms, cucumber, brocolli etc you can have as much as you like and don't count at all) other veg like corn, potatoes, pumpkin, carrots you count cals but not fat or protein. Fruit you count cals but not fat or protein. The exception is avocado that are best avoided as they are very nutrient dense and high in fat. You can have a little avocado on a day when you need to bump up your fat intake if it is really low.

Great idea on the chat potatoes - roasted or boiled in the skins ?

Mingle seasonings - these are on my list to try!

I have started my LE PCOS diet path today - easing in slowly - we arent TTC until July so have awhile to go but thought the earlier I start the easier it will be when it counts!

So yesterday was a bad day diet wise - bacon for breakfast, and then KFC Wicked Wings and chips for dinner with a large amount of wine!!!
Oh well today is a new day!!

Breakfast - standard coffee
Lunch is chickpea and sweet potatoe fritters with green leaf salad and a bit of dressing.
Dinner - spag bog with pasta

Plus more coffee, wine and Diet Coke.

With getting carbs up pasta is a good one I also used the potato idea, mini pizzas on wraps, meringues, bean wraps, um what else, I did eat poached eggs even though that is mostly protein but it can help if having on toast with cheese and stuff, empty carbs are good I used ryvita crackers and Luke the rice thins from Woolworth's a lot and they cheap lols I would just pile them with healthy snack stuff ontop

Thanks ladies!:o I see some you have been measuring your PH - I went to the chemist to buy test strips but they gave me the urine ones, I am thinking that probably isn't what I need? What brand do you all use?

Also I have ordered Sylk from NZ to be sent over and its taking aaaages - I know its been banned here, do you think there is a chance it's been stopped at customs? I would be mortified if I had to go pick it up from there or explain to the post office what I was waiting for!:eek:

Kittendreams when did you buy it? I went to a few chemists here only to be told they don't stock it anymore, and then I did a bit of looking online and apparently the ingredients changed so we were no longer importing it? I could have that wrong though. Not sure if anyone else had the same experience?

Hi mumof4 I'm easing into my sway because I'm only 4.5 months pp but so far so good! I'm completly vegetarian and staying under 1800 cals most days. Protein is always around 40 but my fat totals can creep up! We will ttc from around September so still a little while to tweak my diet. I will start the exercise when my lo is 6 months.
Where are you at with ttc and how is your sway going?

I have a 7 month old & the past 2 weeks I've had quite a few "cheat days" Easter does that to you I guess  I'm similar with calories & fat. I've dropped the red meat but struggling to completely drop the white meat. We plan to TTC from June. All depends if I'm confident enough with weightloss & diet. I have no time pressure, just want to give this the best shot I can.

I know what you mean about Easter! I would have been so off the diet wagon if I wasn't dairy free for ds2 and breastfeeding him this year! I conceived ds2 straight after easter last year after being on le for 9 months! I ate so many easter eggs then ovulated 8 days later lol!

My hubby was not so into it last time but I took a lot of the pressure off by basically organizing all his supplements into a pill box and handing them to him everyday lols so I'll do the same this time round.
My hubby was and still is taking calcium, magnesium ,olive leaf extract and metamucil occasionally

Also I'm a lazy bones and so exercise wasn't perfect for me last time but remember it is about any exercise that is considered more than you do so I did walking kids to school to and from daily about 4 blocks one way and I did try hypoxi for around a month but it got expensive so this time round I'm hoping to go to a mums and bubs exercise group class once a week and build up to more exercise, ATM I'm not sure if I've start ovulation again since having bub in Feb so just waiting to see and tracking my cycle

I'm still waiting to ovulate also but I think it will be a while yet because I'm still ebf 24\7 as my ds2 is only 5 months and I'm on the mini pill.
My ppaf returned at 4.5 months with ds1 and I was ebf but he was sleeping through the night from 12 weeks but this little one is no where near sleeping through yet!
My hubby is trying to drink a cup of soy milk for me every 2 days and he wants to start bike riding soon as well. Probably no supps for him though as he is on Zoloft and is smoking and drinking now which he didn't with our others really. He is eating more vegetarian meals probably 3-4 nights per week which is a huge change for him!

Ladies,
For those trying for a girl i thought i would offer another tip, i recently found this ither awesome seasoning called herbamare. I love my spaghetti and mince but to still get my fix and one i can make in large batches so the whole family can enjoy it i just boil up barella pasta for 8 minutes with a bit of iodised salt then top it with these tinned cherry tomatoes i found called mutti and mix through a generous amount of the Herbamare seasoning. Its lovely i love it and so do my kids so bonus :) ill post pictures below.
Also you'll see the oil beside the bowl that the bach remedy wild rose oil i use for myself. Also the meal on a whole is super cheap to make, also low in carbs so you can have a fair amount. Hope this helps :)
Herbamare is also free from milk proteins and preservatives.
Please excuse the side on photos not sure why they uploaded like that lol.

Just add a spinkle of parmesan cheese and your good to go i use the cheapy powered versian from the supermarket

Hopefully from September or October! No ppaf yet but no surprise as ds2 still feeding all night!
I finally got my treadmill so have started my exercise but only getting 3-4 sessions on it a week so far because my ds2 is so unpredictable with sleep and Dh is working super long days atm.
Diet is going ok- a few unavoidable cheats due to family occasions but keeping under protein and fat quite well.

How are you going so far? Still thinking to try around October?

Hi,
Yes same here with bubba not sleeping well and wanting breastfeed like nearly every hour i swear she sleeps more during the day.
Yes still considering end of September maybe even august. But atm still not af back yet. Also ive noticed that i have a slight prolapse so that has been concerned with getting pregnant again so soon. Ive being reading alot about some fertility blends you can take to help get af happening sooner

kittendreams
June 14th, 2017, 11:50 PM
Oh the prolapse doesn't sound like fun! You poor thing! The things we go through for motherhood are crazy but so worth it.
I'm on the minipill so not sure if that's keeping af away for me as well but my plan is to go off the pill in September and see what happens. I hope I can catch the first egg as I think that may sway pink too!
My lo slept through til 2am this morning so maybe he might drop some nightfeeds soon which will bring on my first ppaf?

Fx we get our girls xx

Hi ladies.
I'm another Aussie mama, preparing to begin my sway for a little girl this August/September.
I have 2 beautiful (but cheeky!) boys and I'm scared and excited about going back again.

I have a question about your hubbies and what they're doing as part of your sways.
Mine is happy to go along with anything I tell him really! Haha
Should I have him on a strict diet like I'm on (LE)? Or can he follow it roughy, with some extra protein?
Also, what supplements should I have him on?
I purchased calcium, magnesium, cranberry and liquorice root (after researching through another swaying forum), but now I'm not sure he should be on all of those?

Also, should I be taking folate now, or wait until I actually start trying? How much should I be taking?
I thought I should follow what's on the bottle, but I saw some info somewhere on here about taking heaps more than that?

Also, should I be taking folate now, or wait until I actually start trying? How much should I be taking?
I thought I should follow what's on the bottle, but I saw some info somewhere on here about taking heaps more than that?

Hi,
Im so sorry I didn't even see your post so sorry i missed it, are you pregnant yet? or still trying?

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkHi JoJo

What has consistently shown results is the following:

12+ weeks on the LE diet:
Low Everything Diet - Nutshell Version (http://www.genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16780)

Minimum 60 minutes cardio exercise 6-7 days a week

One attempt (timing is irrelevant so you'd usually start with one attempt at pos opk to increase conception odds then move onto an e4d pattern after a few cycles)

Caffeine (eg 2-3 coffees a day - try and limit milk to just a small dash, if you want a cafe coffee make sure you include the calories, fat and protein in your tracking, if you have one outside a meal its basically a snack)

Alcohol (whatever you're comfortable with but one daily with a meal is what many do)

Clomid (if you can get it) although in Australia it has to be prescribed by a specialist (gp's cant prescribe)

These are the main consisent pink sway tactics that I know of. Other tactics can be included and dropped as you go along like the hot showers, jump and dump etc

I know its alot of reading and info to get your head around. Maybe start by going to the ttc a girl forum and read through one by one writing down questions as you go along. If those questions then remain unanswered create a thread and ask away [emoji3] Good luck!

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkSo pos opk means positive opk. An opk is an ovulation test. Opks test for the LH hormone as it peaks prior to ovulation happening. You can get dip tests that are best used between 1-3pm after restricting fluids and holding your pee for a couple hours - Ovuplan is a good brand dip test ypu can buy from Chemist Warehouse. You basically float a test stick in a container of urine and then read the result (full instructions are always provided) Alternatively Clearblue digital dual hormone opks use first morning urine, will go from open circle to flashing smiley (once it detects a shift in lh and estrogen) then will show a fixed (non flashing) smiley once your levels have peaked. Also available at Chemist Warehouse and pretty sure Woolies/Coles sell too?

So one attempt at pos opk just means to have unprotected sex the one time (unprotected that is) the day you get a pos opk as you will likely ovulate between 12-48 hours after.

E4d means to have unprotected intercourse every four days. Whether you do this as every 96 hours or every 72 is up to you. Maybe start with the 96 hours then move onto the 72 hour version after a couple cycles. Doing e4d eliminates the need for opks and many find it a lot less stressful [emoji4]

Unfortunately, what works for one person does not always work for others (not to mention that many people want to use many different things that others don't want to use) and so the sites that have one set of directions for everyone are doing people a big disservice. I know it seems confusing at first but I am here to answer all your questions and within a short time it falls into place.

What has worked in our results is LE Diet longer than 12 weeks plus coffee, fiber, and alcohol, cardio exercise 60 minutes a day 4+ days a week (6-7 days is best), one attempt, and Clomid or Femara if you can get them. For DH, smoking and jogging and/or biking have been proven to sway in studies. We have had seemingly good results with OLE and soymilk as welll though I'm not certain they are really helping.

Everything else has not worked well.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We can't compare them because two different groups of people are using them. People who go to e4d have often been on diet a lot longer and are less fertile than those who get pregnant using one attempt.

I recommend everyone start off with one attempt and then after a few months go to every 4 days. I do think one attempt is better and this is not obvious in the statistics due to a variety of reasons (which I can go into if you'd like.)

Most of us on here have gotten at least one boy doing things the IG way with the calcium supps. If you do want to include them, it's up to you, just be sure you take only supplements of cal/mag without Vit. D and don't drink gobs of dairy (it's ok within LE Diet limits, but it's not a free food) because that likely sways blue due to the massive amounts of nutrients in the dairy foods.

Hi Aussie ladies!!

My staples way back when for LE diet were woollies select steakhouse chips, linda mccartney products, roasted vegies seasoned however you like (be sure to include the oil in your limits), veggie delight products, tip top pikelets, la zuppa soups, uncle bens mexican microwave mexican rice, woolies prepackaged stir fry veggies (produce section), wokka ramen noodles with Lee kum kee honey, garlic and soy sauce. Also an awesome meal is either soft tacos or burritos using uncle bens mexican fried rice as the 'mince' or 'chicken'. Add some avocado in your salad if you have the fat available! Delish!!

Ttcpinkluck I'm quite sure Atomic doesn't put any emphasis on sodium as a sway tactic. Don't think it's proven to sway either way? I'd have whatever pasta sauce takes your fancy. Just include in your calorie, fat, carb (moreso the pasta) and protein intake [emoji4] I regularly had La Zuppa soups when I was on the le diet (in 2015) and they are very high in sodium too. I didn't factor sodium into my sway at all while I was swaying... if you're wanting confirmation create a thread in the ttc a girl forum for atomic to answer directly as there's not much chance of her seeing it in here [emoji4]

I swayed back in 2015 then stopped and didn't fall pregnant until 2017. I wasn't swaying at the time I conceived but was pretty much vegetarian, only bded once and was a cycle after last one actually trying (had done 3 clomid cycles prior to the one I conceived. I had given up ttc and fell pregnant from a random (after many wines) bd. Ended up with a girl [emoji4]

All I can suggest is you stick to what has worked best result wise, which is LE diet for 12+ weeks, exercise if possible (cardio 5-7 days a week for an hour), one attempt at pos opk to start with then e4d if you don't conceive in a few cycles and clomid if you can get it. Coffee 2-3 daily (remember though to have with meals if you have alot of milk with it otverwise stick to just a dash or black), alcohol 1-2 drinks daily or as often as you are comfortable with if that is too much for you. Again have with meals. And most of all try to relax. Don't sweat the small stuff. Have a cheat day here and there. Try and get on with life while awaiting your pos opk (easier said than done I know [emoji17])

Virtually all of us pink swayers have given up tracking/limiting sodium and our results have gone UP.

So I’m confused. Do I get them as the shopping list suggests or not as the post below? Sorry if I’ve missed something. 😊

Follow what is in your plan. Your plan will have what is right for you.

I thought I’d update some Aussie products. I’m doing the LCOS LE. Some photos below.

Real Foods Sorghum Wholegrain corn thins. Just like corn thins (whole grain) but added whole grains. Nice and crunchy.

Beetroot tzatziki dip. Low protein and fat - great to dip in with carrots or crackers.

Laughing cow cheese triangles. Low protein and fat. Great spread on crackers.

Bills spelt sourdough. The only bread I could find that had whole grain that wasn’t full of fortified vitamins and other stuff.

Messy monkeys. All Wholegrain and so many flavours.

Be free wraps - so many whole grain and gluten free flavours and no added vitamins. Make a pizza with it under the grill.

Steamfresh vegetables, herbs and baby potatoes.

Frozen beetroot wedges (I think by Edgell). No crumbing added. Bake up as a side for dinner.

Birdseye frozen grilled veges. Bake and add feta, herbs and a bit of lime for a pre prepped lunch.

There’s also a basil sauce in Coles I want to try next. Like a more simple pesto - could be great on roast veges.

Bfast at 10am- mini bites with cinnamon and unsweetened almond milk and flat white with full cream milk or multigrain bread(the bills) with jam and coffee.

Hi Ladies!

What everyone eating on the PCOS version in AUS?

Is it fine to eat carbs with protein on this version? for example 1/2 cup brown rice with egg whites and veggies?

Oh gosh Jenna, I'm sorry I did not see this.

Definitely all the right sorts of foods but do be sure you're getting the right macros.

On the PCOS-type diet you may want to skip things like jam because it is rather sugary, but at the same time if you've done well otherwise and want to "spend" some cals on a smidge of jam, in small amounts it's ok for most people.

Yes please mix protein and carbs on all pink sway diets. Blue swayers HAVE TO mix protein and carbs, but pink swayers are fine to eat them together or not, no matter either way because your blood sugar will stay on the lower side regardless. It's next to impossible to stick to the diet separating protein and carbs because it takes too much juggling, so eat them freely at both meals.

Great! I will do :) This is my last sway, so trying to not be obsessive about it as I know this sways blue but mindful.

Everyone's metabolism is different but 1800-2000 is a good place to START. Then see if weight flies off and if your milk supply diminishes at all, and then you can increase to 2000-2200.
