I thought maybe we could use this to list Australian versions of the girl diet ingredients, and where to buy..

I got all my supplements from The Chemist Warehouse, except SP and LR which was from the vitamin shoppe. Refresh and Sylke from Chemist Warehouse aswell.

Equal tablets as sweetener with aspartame.

Lowest sodium bread i could find was Woolworth's Home Brand, but its a very dry bread. Next lowest i could find was Tip Top ONE.

Woolworth Own milk was the lowest sodium

SunRice rice crisps and Arnotts Cruskits are a good low everything stomach filler.

What other products do you girls buy?

Nimbin cheese is low salt, and I can't survive without a bit of cheese!

I know technically we aren't meant to eat brown rice, but, Coles and Woolies sell Puffed rice cereal that has no added salt or sugar. I love my cereal so this is a *better* alternative to rice bubbles etc... ;)

Hi Ladies, another Aussie swayer here

Yep, definitely the Nimibn Cheese, it is great stuff and low in sodium. I also buy Lurpak spreadable unsalted butter (Coles) ans the Coles brand corn tortilla's... tortilla's in general actually are all good as they are very low in sodium, Mountain Bread can also be good for wraps etc. Low fat Vaalia yoghurt (the big tub is better than the small portion ones for some reason) or the Tamar Valley Greek yoghurt (Coles) are the 2 brands I mostly buy... the Tamar Valley have either plain greek yoghurt or one that has raspberry swirled through it.

TickledPinkButLoveMyBlue (I love that username by the way!!) I was also drinking the Analene Milk before due to the high calcium content as I thought this was the best one. Someone pointed out to me though that it is higher in sodium than other milks and it also contains zinv and other nutrients. I asked on another swaying website and they advised me to switch to regular low fat/ skim milk. I actually drink the Devondale high calcium (long life) one now or Dairy Farmers skim now. Hope that info can help you in some way too x

Most Health food shops will stock the pure cranberry juice which is great when diluted (very strong stuff haha) and stock no salt herbs/ spices.... I found a good one which was a cajun blend and had no salt, but silly me only bought one packet and I have never seen it again. Wish I had bought a few packets now!

Good to see some other fellow Aussie swayers on here :)

Of COURSE I remember you :) I figured out who you were don't worry :wink:hehehe

Yes, I saw the Analene milk recommended on one of the Aussie threads and then recommended it to others. After coming here I started questioning the 'extra nutrient' side of things (the zinc etc) and someone pointed out it had higher sodium :( Now I feel bad. Anyway, my gut feeling after reading the forums here was to switch to the regular low fat/ skim stuff... or the Devondale which still has extra calcium and is not too bad on the sodium side of things either!

How exciting!! We are attempting now... well, not right now obviously! this cycle I am planning to BD through O and I think I will I on Saturday? I have chucked the whole timing thing out the window well and truly!

Here's hoping we both get our BFP's very soon and will be back on a regular diet again before too long. Vegemite anyone?

Yep, I got my Rose Quartz from Tree of life :) I just got a small bit that I could keep in my bra

Starflower and Lassie I wont b having my attempt with you guys now as I have got Shingles (like chicken pox but worse) and am on anti-viral medication so my doctor has advised that I skip this month and start trying next month. I'm so sad and disappointed as I've been preparing for so long now and it's all a waste. I wonder if the stress of swaying plus some other dramas have contributed to my condition?! It's horrible and I am so run down. So I will now attempt end of April as I really want to avoid another December baby but if I have another prem he/she may be born in December anyway hehehe plus I may not be able to wait two months and just go for it in early April.

I went and bought a packet of Smiths Cheese and Onion Chips to drown my sorrows heheheh

I've had two best friends get their BFP this week so I'm a bit sad that I wont be joining them now :( Never mind, it will give me more time to have one on one time with my gorgeous ds anyway and a bit longer on Vitex too. I'm even starting to think that I'm going to tone down my sway and just do the supps and loose diet as I really don't want the process of TTC to become too orchestrated.

Good luck girls. I'll be thinking of you. Let me know how you go xxxx

So sorry to here that tickled pink :(
How long have you been swaying? Are you dieting?
Sending you lots of 'get well' dust and hoping you feel better soon. Try and rest up and hopefully your body will shake the shingles.

Whenever I'm down about the way things work out I try and tell myself (easier said then done) that everything happens for a reason, and often we don't know what the reason is, we just need to let things happen the way that they are intended to happen, so when the timings right for your little bundle of joy to be conceived then everything will fall into place.

We were hesitant for a December baby, as DS is a December boy, but we decided that we really wanted to start TTC, so I suppose we will see what happens.

Yep, I got my Rose Quartz from Tree of life
Thanks for that! Will pop out at lunchtime and get something. Do you know wether its supposed to be worn all the time? Or just during BD?

Take Care - and hope you start feeling better soon xo

Oh nooo... I am so sad to hear this. Shingles is an awful thing to have :( Hopefully it will clear up soon and you will be feeling better before too long, let us know how you go with it all...

It could be from feeling run down from the swaying stuff (I know what you mean) but it could also be one of those things that you never really get an answer for why.

Yes, it is good to get some more time with your gorgeous DS... mine is equally as gorgeous, he is sooo cheeky! I was going through some old photos tonight and can't believe how much he seems to have grown so quickly.... where has that time gone?

I am now at the very start of the dreaded 2ww so will see how we go... I would LOVE a BFP this cycle. Now I am over analysing each and every little thing and hoping that the Rephresh and the Sylk won't prevent that from happening. I started swaying at the beginning of October last year but took a 3 week break over Christmas when I was like a kid in a candy store! Cheese and Onion chips are a good start ;)

Anyway, feel better soon and if you need to talk you know where to find me x

PS: Lassie, yes Tree of Life is good for that sort of stuff... any 'Hippie' type store is good too and there is a stack of stuff on Ebay. Let us know how you get on!

Oh, Shingles is horrible. TickledPink I hope you recover quickly. It must be very painful for you.

Lassie, another alternative to rose quartz is hematite. I bought a hematite ring. It is supposed to be very calming, so I make sure I wear it at work! I should probably also wear it around the kids.

I drink Woolworths organic low fat milk and Lakewood organic pure cranberry juice. And I use Western Star unsalted butter.

Starflower, whenever my boys have vegemite I eye it off enviously! And I barely eat it, but now that I can't have it...

TickledPinkButLoveMyBlue
February 14th, 2012, 08:39 AM
Thanks Peony, Starflower & Lassie. It really is very painful. I was trying to explain to my DH how the pain in my back felt and I told him it was like having contractions but in my upper back. At least I can practice breathing through the pain LOL
Not only does it hurt but it looks hideous...YUCK! Fingers crossed it goes away very quickly. I always thought that Shingles happened in older people not 28 yr olds LOL. I think I'm just a bit stressed at the moment I've had some family dramas along with trying to stick with the diet, returning to work part time, the prospect of TTC plus reading up on everything Pink has just exhausted me. I need to just relax and let it be what it will be!

Starflower I started swaying the same time as you. I guess I was just disappointed because I've put all of this effort in and now I need to wait even longer. I'm going to just scale back my sway to just O+12, Sylk, low sodium/potassium, high calcium but keep eating a fairly normal diet minus the real bad no no's and keep taking the Vitex to regulate my cycles & the supps I suppose. So I guess I'm only scaling back the diet LOL I honestly will be happy with another little man so at the end of the day it won't matter how hard I sway but I will be sad that I may never have a daughter.

Thanks for your kind words ladies. Just what I need when I'm feeling so low xxxx

Tickled Pink, my BIL who is 29 had shingles only about a month ago? He said he was stressed/ run down at the time so that may have played a role, but it can just happen at any time. Once you have had chickenpox then the virus is stored in the body so to speak and can re-surface at any time.... it could just be on of those things :( Anyway, heres hoping you feel better VERY soon. Also, just keep telling yourself that being sick sways pink!!

Thanks Lassie, here's hoping..... I am seriously doubting now but you never know your luck. I would not be in awe of me doing the diet for that time as I never claimed to be doing it well! I was on the IG diet for 8-9 weeks (with some cheats thrown in) and think I made myself sick and run down with it :( I toook 3 weeks off over Christmas and boy did I make up for lost time.... I pretty much gained back any weight I had lost in that time so that says a lot! haha. I went back on a swaying diet 1st Jan, this time the a-gender diet which allowed a few more things... I am trying to be more balanced this time around as being too 'extreme' last time did not seem to work well for me. I stay sane by having a coffee every day, ice-cream fairly regularly as a dessert and allowing myself some cheats every so often. Otherwise I think I would have gone crazy well before now!

When is your attempt coming up? Lets get some Aussie BFP's happening in here soon Ladies! x

My attempt is in about 2 weeks YAY :)
Im currently on CD 3 and this is the first cycle we are attempting in, hope it happens quick, dont think i can stick to the diet strictly for too long.
Im doing a mix of french gender and low everything, but i have had a couple of small cheats!

Hi fellow Aussies!

I thought I'd chime in as someone who has recently had my GIRL SWAY confirmed as a GIRL!!! Have a read of my sway in the other section, but am happy to answer any questions on products etc I used.

FWIW - I used Rose Quartz and Hematite - tree of life or ishka have them and you can get little spiral cages where you can pop in the crystal and wear them on a necklace.

The next few months of summer/autumn are pretty good for pink swaying so get as many neg ions as you can - walk in the grass or at the beach. Windows open on warm days!

Let me know if there's any way I can help - I got so much help during my sway and am happy to pass on anything that I've learned!

Good luck girls!

Satrflower, I do the a-gender diet as well. I need to have the options available or I wouldn't be able to stick to the diet either. I am on CD12 so not long to go before our Feb attempt. No +OPK yet.

Sassy, hi! I just wrote on your other post actually. Congratulations again. That is very exciting for you and your boys. I am living in Darwin at the moment and we have thunderstorms most days at this time of year, so figure I am getting plenty of -ve ions. And it is always hot. Ugh, so sick of the heat sometimes!

Lassie, yes I am doing temps as well. Still waiting for a +OPK. My cycles are all over the place on vitex. O early last month and late this month. Not happy Jan! DH works a few days away every week and I got him to fly home early this week as I thought for sure I would have needed him by last night. So frustrating. I like to have everything organised and my body just won't co-operate! It was much easier to have my boys!

Sassy, how long were you swaying/TTC before your BFP?

Lassie1982
February 23rd, 2012, 05:32 AM
That sucks Peony :( Must be so annoying! Try not to let it stress you out, apparently thats really bad for a girl sway. (I have quiet a stressful job, so its been tricky keeping the stress levels down, i almost snapped today and was *this* close to saying "stop stressing me out coz you'll make me have a boy" - that would have been a fun one to explain!)

I'm yet to see if Vitex does anything with my cycle, i only started in the last cycle, im on CD 10 today so Ov should be happening soon, i've had a head cold the last couple of days - hope thats not mucking my temps up (they dont seem to be any higher / lower then usual)

The closer i am getting the more nervous I am, and the more i am questioning wether this is the right month "did i sway well enough" "should i have swayed for longer" "will my chances be better next month" (been on the diet for 6 weeks, supps for about 5) ahhhh - no good for stress levels

Tickled Pink - how are you going chick? Feeling better i hope!

Congrats on your baby girl Sassy. I do have a quick question for you, where did you buy the Wild Yams??

If anyone is interested in buying Crystal Light there is a place here in Oz that sells it. If you live in Vic their store is in Moorabbin and if not they do deliver. Anyway the place is called USA foods. If you google it you will find their website addy. :)

I was using an app called myfitness pal. Really simple to use, let's you scan barcodes (even Aussie ones!)
Tried a couple and this was by far the easiest one! And it tallies everything, inc sodium.
Really easy to enter quantities as well, ie 1/4 apple.
I stopped using it for 2 reasons, mainly because I was stressing to much about hitting all the minimums. And secondly it wasn't quiet as accurate as I wanted it to be, my primary concern was getting the minimum amount of potassium so I wasn't in the danger zone, I was sitting on zero one day so I had half a portion of small fries, and my potassium intake hadn't changed at all - which is obviously incorrect.
I decided then that I was stressing and obsessing too much over it and the stress would kill my sway!
Other then that I found it spot on for everything else I could measure (ie, it increased my potassium intake when I entered that I ate grapes)

Sorry I haven't gotten back to a few of these questions -

Peony - we were on the diet and supps for 3 months prior to our first attempt. Our first attempt wasn't successful, but our second was! Very lucky given it took me 12 months and another 2 MC before getting DS2!

I got the Wild Yams from my local health shop - Nature's Sunshine is the brand and it has a small amount (50mg) of Vitex in them too.

And I second the MyFitnessPal app! Helps enormously!

Not diet related, but does anyone know a reliable Australian source for pregnancy tests, cheap? At the rate that I am going through test I need a cheaper (but still reliable) alternative to chemist brought tests, especially if it takes a number of months to conceive.
(I'm not even going to try and curb the pee on a stick addiction, I would fail miserably, and besides, it's my little bit of fun)

There is the uk ladies thread ("uk smog wannabes" ) so no reason why we couldn't have an Aussie one.
Maybe we should start a new thread that we can sticky?

Or
"Aussie TTC Sheila Thread"

What does everyone else think?! Or maybe we should have a gender neutral one?

What are all you girls drinking?
Whats the closest girl friendly equivalent to Crystal Lite?

PeonyPrincess
April 9th, 2012, 08:14 AM
Not that it is similar to CL, but I would drink Perrier sparkling mineral water as it has a low pH and is also low salt. I often mixed it with my straight cranberry juice. Really all I wanted was wine, but hey!

I take the tiny megafol 0.5 ones. Atomic says around 1600 a day for ttc girl, I take one at breakfast, lunch and dinner to get 1500. They are really cheap. Also tiny and you can chew them as they aren't bad tasting.

Some areas of the website aren't updated from when atomic took it over, she's trying to work through that but obviously her time is in high demand! Please don't hesitate to pm her about it, I'm 100% sure it's the signature amount, she keeps that in there exactly for this reason.

Hi Ladies, I'm new here... From Perth WA and was so happy to see this thread... Our DTD time is in two weeks so getting a bit nervous. I found a great cranberry juice, Langers brand which is sweetened with Splenda and I have been drinking sprite zero too... I never knew we had to take that much folic acid... My bottle says 500mcg per day, is it ok to have more than recommended?

Also what are you all doing with regards to timing?

TIA

I test ran Zyrtec (cetirizine) and had a really crappy result :( I want to add something to it but don't know what! Benadryl (diphenhydramine)... I tried to get but it says I need a prescription wanting to know what others are ok to sway girl! Also what are you ladies doing to get rid of cm? I have a lot around O!

TIA

My gp put me on 5000 mcg with both my boys, so yes it's safe to have more than 500!

Atomic's TTC girl recommendation is 1500-1600 daily for TTC girl. Morning noon and night if you can.

Mrs Magoo - I think my SP is a prostate blend! It actually states its for men on the bottle. It's the only one I could find. AS said it was fine though. Let's see if your question gets answered as I'd love to know also.

Does anyone know whether 'mountain bread' is safe in a pink sway? It's available at Woolworths & Coles. It's a very thin, stiff, wrap type bread made of rice flour.

Hi, I'm new to swaying. Is that 5000mcg or mg? My fertility specialist put e on 5 mg. I won't know where to get 500 mg let alone 5000!

Eeee my bad. I meant 5000mcg (which is 5mg). And that's too high for TTC girl, 1500-1600mcg is perfect for girl, and in that case there are 0.5 tabs available and you take 3, morning noon and night if possible, to ensure a constant release.

If your fertility specialist put you on 5000 for a reason PLEASE take it all. Folic doesn't have a huge factor in swaying anyway.

Hi Meeks, how are you going with the soy iso?
Just curious, coz last time I spoke to you, you had just started on it x

Hi Salsa, did I read a bfp for you somewhere or am I imagining that?

Soy iso has been amazing, or the results have so far. I've had lots of side effects but they were worth it, and i'm told taking it at night can help so i plan that for next month. My temps are more stable, my luteal phase extended by 2 days (to 12 from 10) and my o day stayed similar, but effects were more noticeable so I wouldn't have missed o! I figure that can only help me!

I got more cm, but used Zertek to dry it up. Dropping that this month after talking to atomic, le diet changed my cm and I had none at all prior to soy iso, where before diet I had heaps. Soy iso brought back maybe 25% and I freaked and used Zertek. Atomic says I still need SOME cm, so leave out the Zertek this month. The aim is reduced cm not none at all, or eggy can't survive and sperm can't swim.

Thats great!
All sounds very interesting and I was all geared up to use it next cycle (I bought the same stuff you put me onto, it was all ready to go in my cupboard) but then I had a whole lot of bloods taken. It showed my hormone levels were flat and I had indeed stopped O all together. My doc urged me to put on a kg or 2, so relunctantly I eased up on the le diet, (still skipping b-fast and still no meat).
I totally relaxed about it all and put it out of my head, stopped obsessing over OPK's (I stopped these all together) but I did still use rephresh every 3 days and aci jel when we DTD. We DTD basically every 2-3 days. My aim was to catch the egg as soon as I started O again before I gained too much weight.
One night I got up and pee'd an unusual amount, and one time I got back into bed at 3am and felt like I was going to vomit. So that morning I did a pg test and low and behold it came up pos!
I prob had only gained 2 kgs over 10 days or so. I couldnt believe how quickly it happened. I was anticipating it would take a month or 2.
So my sway certainly was not a strict one, if any at all!
I was on a relaxed le diet for the last 10 days (although very strict le diet for 7 months prior) I had stopped taking vitex and SP a good month or so b4 as they were really delaying O by like 10 days!!
We didnt abstain or FR like we should of. But we did use rephresh and aci jel....

So will wait and see.
Im not too stressed anymore about being so hooked on getting my last girl. Atomic said that sometimes these things had to happen. It was pretty clear I wasnt going to even get pregnant the way I was going.
Right now all I care about is this one sticking. Im really sick with m/s and struggling to look after my other 3 kids 4yrs and under.
Im glad the soy is having positive affects for you. I cannot wait to hear your BFP news soon!! I know it will be soon!
I'll keep my eye out for you
Sending you lots and lots of preggy thoughts your way x x x

I know you think your sway wasn't good but how long were you TTC on LE diet? Because you had months and months of good sway behind you, gaining and 10 days of not ideal sway is going to be backed by months of good diet. Your body wouldn't have gained that many nutrients to reverse all that good swaying. I think you have a great chance of a girl!!!!

When do you find out? Doing the intelligender wee test at 10 weeks? Or wait for 20 week scan? Or pay for one at 16 weeks? I am TOTALLY doing all 3 things when I finally get pg.

Would you believe we are going team green for the WHOLE pregnancy??!!!! I know CRAZY!
We havent found out for any of our other children, and my husband really wants to wait until the delivery again! Im happy enough with that, as we obviously cant change it, and I feel I would spend the whole pregnancy drepressed and get all worked up if its another boy, but if I find out at the birth I still fall in love with the baby straight away and it doesnt seem to matter! Its my very last pregnancy so I want to enjoy it!
I had disappointment when my last son was born, but it didnt take long to fall totally and utterly in love with the little fella, he melts my heart every day!
But doesnt mean I wont look for any little clue along the way for a boy or girl!! Nub shots etc etc... Its all part of the fun. At this stage just hoping it sticks and grows into a healthy little bubba! Baby has a strong heartbeat at this stage so all is going to plan.
I sooooooooooooo cant wait to see your BFP sooooooooonnnnn!!!!!!!
ps I know I'll be super jealous of you finding out the sex while your still pregnant! lol

OMG that's crazy! After all this you are WAITING? Hats off to you, that is some determination there, I could never achieve! I actually felt the opposite with ds2, I was SO glad I found out while pregnant, for a number of reasons. Firstly to get over the disappointment (only took about a week), secondly for names, because let's face it, boy names are damn hard! And thirdly because I wanted to bond with who was in my tummy before birth, so that by the time I got there, I was accepting and ready to love and not disappointed or feeling guilty. That was my personal take of course, and everyone is different. But I felt it helped me to know in pregnancy and process those feelings before baby arrived.

Nothing wrong with finding out to try something new, especially as this is your last you could tell people you wanted to see what it felt like to know.

But if you hold fast and stay team green I think that's amazing too. I do understand it especially when hubby wants to wait.

Good luck!!! When's the next scan?

You make alot of sense with all of your reasonings!! Just dont think I could convince DH!! I dont mind too much though. We have our names sorted. We've always agreed on names so easily, (we dont agree on much, but our children's names we do!) lol! Billy for a boy, Darcey for a girl.
Have another scan this wed. I will be 8 wks and 3 days. Thats my offical dating scan (even though Ive already had a few sneaky peaks at work already)
Will certainly be trying to get sum nub shots at my NT scan. So will upload those if they manage to get a good pic of it!

Can't wait to see! Where do you work?

Names are hard so that's fantastic that you agree on one of the most important parts of life!

I change my mind all the time with names which makes it hard for us to agree. It takes us a lot of time to narrow it down, we often have 8 names we think are ok, but take a lot of time to decide which is perfect. Often we have to see baby to decide. We agree mostly on them, but both have trouble finding that final one.

Except if its a girl. Then we are naming her Lexi. Only one we've ever had 100% definite thoughts about is the only gender we can't seem to get!!!

I have no self restraint at all. I wanted to test today at 6dpo. Ridiculous!! I KNOW it hasn't implanted yet, but I just can't wait!

I did soooooooo many tests far too early, and got myself so upset!! And DH had to keep reminding me to settle down - he even hid the preg tests one month until like 12 dpo!! It was torture!
I have a good feeling this month for you!
I work (or used to, before I had my 3rd child) in radiology. And am still very friendly with everyone there, especially the sonographers. So they have been happy to give me some quick little scans to have a look. Has helped put my mind at ease as I stress so much about all the things that can go wrong. Thanks hon. How exciting working in radiology. A lot of my friends work as nurses and for some reason I love the idea of any kind of job involving medicine. Haha that sounds so odd. I am obsessed with how our bodies work now after swaying!

I will test 1-2 days after a temp drop or tri phase shift in my chart (ie implantation). I think. I may crack tomorrow morning.

Haha just thought of something, I am now even more in awe of you, because if I had access to an ultrasound machine and technician with expertise, I would damn well be pressuring them each week to see if they could tell the sex! Hahaha no self restraint. *headsmack

Hi girls

Can I just double check I bought the right rephresh. Reading the box it almost sounds like it raise ph so wanted to double check. 8467

Thats what I used!
Its a good idea to do a dummy run before using it for your first attempt. Just to make sure you know your body wont suddenly increase its ph in response. What I used to do, to get my body used to it, was to put that up there in the morning, then at night put a fingertip of aci jel up there then if you have ph test strips, insert a finger up near your cervix and smear onto test strip and see colour change. (sorry TMI) This will tell you the ph of your vagina so that you know what it will be the time the sperm is in there. You want it to be around 5-6, anything lower really does kill off all sperm. You wont fall pregnant if ph is 4, its just too low. Despite what in gender tells you!! 5-6 is still extremely low.
You may find rephresh lowers it enough you wont need aci jel. So its a good idea to test ph after the rephresh application too. It really helped dry up my cervical mucous too which is a girl friendly sway factor.
So if you were to DTD say at night, you want the rephresh in a good 12 hrs earlier. No sooner or else you wont fall pregnant. I always put rephresh in at about 7am, then DTD about 10pm that night. The aci jel is used at lube as you DTD.

Hope that helps.
I got my ph strips off the net too, but they are easy to find. You dont want urine ones though. I think mine are for testing pools or something! lol

I used the 300mg disprin we had at home and broke it into 4 (75mg each), and took 2 a week, then went up to 3 a week eventually.

Ph strips are cheap as on eBay. Think I paid $5. Didn't work for me though as the diet dried me up too much so I gave up trying to test.

Disprin is a lot stronger than baby asprin, the closest we will have to baby asprin is cardiprin or cartia, when I had to take asprin for my last transfer this is what they gave me.

Anyone know where to buy legit rose quartz?

BabyGirl4Me
March 3rd, 2013, 04:34 PM
Hi Mrs. Magoo! There are two lovely ladies in the states who specialize in fertility bracelets. I bought one from them with lots of rose quartz and amethyst in it and it's a beautiful design too. Here is the link to their shop if you're interested: Gemstone & Sterling Silver Fertility & Wellness by artsychicas (http://www.etsy.com/shop/artsychicas) Be sure to "like" them on facebook to see their latest promos.

If you do decide to buy from them...would you be so kind as to include me as a referral with your order? I hope to buy a few more of these as gifts and the credit would help. Thank you!!

Amethyst is a calming stone and a wisdom stone, helping us to make the right choices. It's also good for negative ions. They have a ton of different styles of bracelets on their site and the one they made for me is actually customized. They do customized orders too, so if you only wanted rose quartz I'm sure they'd be happy to make you a bracelet just with that. Good luck!

Hi ladies! I'm new to all this swaying stuff and I am so very confused! I am trying to sort everything out, but most of the info I have found is quite contradictory!
For example, diet!!! What are we supposed to be eating? Some foods are on the yes list in some places, and the no list on others! Is eating acidic foods better or foods high in calcium/magnesium? Any links to a good list of foods to eat/avoid, or even better an actual meal plan or cookbook?

Is douching worth the effort? What is the best?

Do you bother with ovulation kits and timing? If so, what test do you recommend? (I have a somewhat mental cycle....ever since going off the pill to have my first son....I've had 6 in just over 4 years {two boys luckily}...no, I don't have PCOS)

Argh...I'm so confused!!! Please help me ladies, all I have ever wanted is a daughter, and I really want to get this right...I don't want to keep having kids until I get it right....though my husband would love that, I don't think my uterus would cope!!!!! LOL ;-)

Atomic, can you jump in here?

I'll do my best to give you some links. Atomic took over this site and some of the old info is hanging around in stickies etc. and isn't correct. Also some posters came over from a similar but contradictory site, IG, and they are the ones that often post about 'magic' foods, ph, and so on. Over here those aren't really things atomic believes in, but they can't hurt to factor in.

There are different diets, this site and atomic endorses the LE diet for TTC Girl, which is low everything. There are guidelines to stick to and its hard at first but very quickly you get used to it.

Here is your first resource, for info on everything:
http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/3305-complete-index.html

and atomic's essays for ttc girl:
http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-conceive-girl/23588-ttc-girl-library.html

Diet is available for the $12 a year dream member fee, and seriously, it was the best money I spent. It also gives you access to the private swaying forums where most of us post each month. The basics are here though:
http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-conceive-girl/16780-low-everything-diet-nutshell-version.html

Swaying statistics thread which may help you decide what to include and what not to: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-conceive-girl/25157-complete-pink-swaying-statistics-spreadsheet.html

If you decide to have atomic write you a personalised sway plan there is a diet book and more extensive meal recommendations included in that, but here is the meal pics thread which is great for inspiration:

Cr*p what's the chitosan for????

lollylegs
April 15th, 2013, 06:58 AM
Chitosan = fibre = reduced gut transit time & reduced absorption of fats/nutrients in theory. Also helps counteract the binding effect of empty carbs in LE diet. Any fibre supplement without added nutrients should be fine (& it isn't mandatory!) - I just use Metamucil as that's what I had. And only using it in the TTC months, not "practice" diet months. Hth

Do you bother with ovulation kits and timing? If so, what test do you recommend?

Hi. I will be trying soon and to be honest after reading all the essays here I won't bother with timing. But some people can't let the timing concept go and this is one of the reasons why I like it here, because no one tells you `do this or do that or else`, it is really what works for you. As for ovulation tests, I used to spend a fortune on them and they didn't always work, then I found some very cheap ones (50 for $15) on ebay and they never failed me. Good luck with your pink sway.

YES YES YES LET GO OF TIMING!!!! It was one of the first things I learned when I came to GD, and amongst one of the most important that I knew I just had to do! And I also bought cheap OPK kits off ebay when TTC and I used like 3 a day! ;)

Another good low fat, low salt snack is those baby rice/corn cakes (i.e.heinz, etc), there is one called yum yum and they are quite yummy. And baby rusks, etc are quite safe when it comes to fat and sodium. So, I attack my little boy's snacks every now and then :)

Hi mumto3boys,

I was actually hoping to be pg by now. I swayed for my DS (almost 2yrs old)after reading a book ' how to choose the sex of your baby - the natural way' by Hazel Chesterman Phillips. Don't know if it worked or was a fluke but we got what we wanted. Anyway, so this time I read all the bits about conceiving a girl, but its basically all about timing and nothing else. I have such long irregular cycles that a cut-off wasn't working so I started looking around and found this site... I wished I'd found this earlier.

At least you will have plenty of time with diet etc. by the time you ttc in dec. There is so much info on here, plus everyone is so friendly...Will definitely keep in touch!

Is this your first attempt at swaying for a girl?

Hi everyone :)

Another aussie here, well im a kiwi but live and love australia :) I have 5 boys, the youngest been 5 months old and we are going to sway and TTC in a few months time.

I think i might pay for the personalised gender plan but still a little unsure. I would like to lose a bit of weight before we ttc again so thats why i was thinking of waiting until the end of the year, also im breast feeding so concieving is probably going to be more difficult.

Ive been reading and reading but there is an awful lot of info that i think im getting confused lol. Is there anywhere on here that has it all in one place? Does DH have to do the diet as well? He is all for whatever it takes but im thinking we start the LE diet and whatever else we need to do maybe next week or the week after once I have gotten everything, how long is recommended you do everthing before we TTC?

Hi Ladies, I have 2 boys and just started swaying for a girl.first cycle with no luck but found a great app and been on calcium and magnesium supps for a month now. How often do you use ky or sylk? Just before or throughout the deed? Sorry I do not know the lingo yet:-)

Rinny101
September 6th, 2013, 06:33 AM
Welcome Kristykos,

I was doing the calcium and Mag supps before I found this sight too. Apparently there is not much evidence to suggest that these sway pink. Many people on this site have gone on to have boys after consuming high does of calcium and mag. Are you trying to do a cut off too? This is another theory I was going to use but have since let this one go too....
Sylk is ok for lube when you are DTD. Rephresh is recommended about 12 hours before DTD, to lower your PH. You can get this from Chemist Warehouse (not sure if you have these in Perth) :)

Hi Rinny101
I am careful with the ratio of calcium to Magnesium, with my boys I took pregnancy multis and that was it. Also doing shallow penetration ( is there a codename for that lol) and eating low everything, but not fanatical about it. Timing aswell, as I ovulate EARLY:-)

At 36 I would love a girl. But aldo make really gorgeous boys so just to be pregnant would be a blessing. The 2ww is terrible, got spotting before af was due on the supposed implant day but sadly didn't stick. Hence the maca, have had trouble with progesterone deficiencies before.

Hi mumofsix, it's good to see a few Aussies are on here! If you pm lollylegs with your email address she can add you to a Facebook group that some Aus swayers have started to give each other support and discuss all things swaying. I am a bit lost with all the diets feel like when I google I get ideas then I look into more and it says that what I had read previously was wrong! So lost!! I am from Australia and am wondering if someone can confirm what I am eating sounds ok?
Today I didn't eat till noon had a diet vanilla yoghurt 2 cruskits with thin sliced cucumber lunch I had cranberry and turkey sandwich. I had a strawberry skim milk smoothie and for dinner planning to have mountain bread chicken wrap with cheese and cucumber? I also have gone onto vitex due to PCOS, folic acid drinking 2 glasses of cranberry juice, making sure I have had milk. I have bought aci gel for when we start trying. My husband is not so open to the diet so has agreed to not have caffeine, no red meat has been taking licorice root he also is drinking cranberry juice and having milk drinks in the day. Does this sound ok or can anyone give me tips on anything else I can do?

I'd maybe cut down on the meat a bit, most pink swayers try to be as close to vegetarian as possible. And add in some more veggies. I loved hummus with cucumber on brown rice crackers for lunch. And made pizzas with mountain breads too!

As you have PCOS check out the PCOS version of the LE diet and maybe even think about purchasing the 21 day diet plan, it has some great meal ideas and recipes. And as Atomic says.. "There are no magic foods and there are no forbidden foods on the LE diet" and once you get the hang of it, it will be so much easier than it seems now.

There's also a thread about 'what were eating' where some members post what they are everyday so that's a good thread to keep an eye on!

Goodluck with your sway journey. 😀

I got them from a health food shop, but look around at the chitosan as in one shop I went too, one brand was $60 and another was $10. The shop assistant looked at them both and had non idea why there was such a difference when the cheaper one was actually a higher strength one too! 😳

I've also seen saw palmetto at the chemist.

Hi Ladies first time posting... have 2 sons & I am trying to sway for a girl. Anyway, I have a bit of a moral dilemma. I’ve heard that anti-depressants all assist with swaying for a girl. I was on antidepressants last year & I still have some left, as well as some prescriptions I can fill. I am considering going back onto the antidepressants to assist with my sway. They didn’t actually work which is why I stopped taking them; that is I felt no different on them. They didn’t cause me to gain or lose any weight, they didn’t affect my sleep, they didn’t change anything. So I am not concerned about any personal side effects however, taking medication for something other than what it is intended for is a bit of a moral dilemma.
What are other’s thoughts?

Salsa

My concern with this is that many anti depressants are NOT to be taken whilst pregnant. So if you fell pregnant whole taking this medication there could be possible side affects that would need to be discussed with your doc. I know you would obviously stop once you found out you were pregnant, but conception would of already have happened 10-14 days before you found out. And antidepressants are a med that requires long term use to help. Ie it takes a good 2-4wks for the med to have any affect on depression. So it's not something you would take 2 wks on. 2 wks off. Also, anti depressants are not to be stopped immediately. You must wean your body off them. It's not good for your nervous system if stopped immediately. However, without knowing the type of med it is, only your do. Could tell you the safety around taking it/weaning off it and pregnancy. In my opinion, I just don't feel the risks are worth it sorry.

Thanks Salsa. The decision was taken out of my hands anyway, I went to fill the script & it turns out it is out of date so couldn't be filled. I was actually relieved I didn't really want to take them anyway. All's well that ends well :)

I would say it's 'ok' but not ideal as it's salty and rich in vitamin B and other minerals. However you need some taste in your diet and if you're putting it on rice cakes or bread I wouldn't worry too much. Plus I imagine it's quite processed and probably not as healthy as the marketing would lead us to believe.

bluebonnet22

I'm not Australian, but I know vegemite is loaded with B vitamins and brewers yeast which I think sways blue. I'm sure a smear here and there is fine but probably not a good idea to make vegemite sandwiches a daily food.

Some products I found recently (I shop at Woolworths) that I really like. Please double check all those little fine prints that matter to you as I am focusing more on Calories and fat.

SunRice Thick Rice Cakes (they are quite thick and filling)
1 serve (2 rice cakes) - 78 cal
protein 1.8g
fat 0.6g
sodium 0.6g
potassium 58mg

For those like me who can't survive without hot chocolate (Yum!)
Vitarium sugar free Dark Drinking Chocolate (sweetened with Stevia)
8.6 cal per serve
protein 0.32g
sodium 10mg

Black Swan Skinny Hommus
cal per serve - 20cal
protein 0.6g
fat 1.4g
sodium 21 mg

Does hommus and tzatziki have garlic in it, which raises testosterone and sways blue?

Hello Fellow Aussies

Im back again (I was first here almost 3 years ago when this thread first started, swayed pink, got a boy, a lovely little lad who is now 17mnths)
I have just started swaying again for our third and final child (well, I would lobe 4 children but DH says definitely no more then 3 ever) and would desperately love for it to be a little girl.

I am seeing a natropath who has put me on a strict diet (basically FGD and LE combined) along with sups and timing, our first attempt will be in december and I'm excited and nervous all at once.

Nimbin cheese has high potassium to make up for the reduced sodium. Careful

Thanks for that heads up! I have been eating the nimbi :)

Hi Aussie girls, I'm just about to start TTC#2 next month and am hoping for a pink one. I'm just putting together a list of foods to have and am tracking my cycle this month to watch for Ov.
So far I've got myself some pink rose quartz and cleansed and charged it for girl / negative ions and have a salt lamp next to my bed. I don't think I'm going too OTT (not checking PH etc) but definitely will give the diet a good go. I've already been on my pregnancy vitamins and will get the other pink sway vitamins to start taking this weekend.

Fingers crossed for pink all round. :ttcgirl:

I'm quite new to this and find it confusing too. I actually went and bought all supplements but from what I've read here and also got my plan yesterday it seems that they only thing we should take is Folic acid. There are other supplements DH can take like licorice root, olive leaf extract and even calcium and magnesium.

In that case I might just get the stuff for DH then. I'll be having cranberry juice in my diet so that's probably enough.

SUnbuny since you're a Custom Swayer, don't forget you get the Coaching Service with that and please post whatever you're confused about in your Custom Forum and I will get right back to you on that.

We are on out second cycle TTC #5, I have PCOS so if I'm not pregnant in 2 more cycles I'll have to take chlomid.
We have 2 girls and 2 boys and I would love another girl since it's been 10 years since my last pink bundle, I'll be be happy with either, we decided there's no harm in trying to sway for a girl, we swayed with our third and it worked (boy) I just joined the Facebook page too

I think if you start the LE diet now and try in May that is plenty of time. Do you have much weight to lose? I have lost 10 kg since October through the diet and exercise. I don't want to lose anymore so am just trying to maintain. My point being that if you don't have much to lose you may not want to start too early. It might take a bit longer to conceive so thats extra time on the diet too. We started ttc in December. Best of luck and welcome. I'm from Sydney too [emoji2]

All foods are ok now and then but when you have the option between more and less nutrient dense foods, try to choose the less nutritious one. It doesn't mean you can't ever have a more nutrient dense food, but just if you hae the choice.

Hi :-) I'm new this whole sway thing and have a few questions.I hope this is where I post this. What kind of meals are you all eating throughout the day? Any brands you can recommend in Aussie? Gidgetbeach
December 22nd, 2015, 08:31 AM
The PCOS diet is designed for those with PCOS as they are less fertile and it is also recommended for others with other infertility issues eg I followed it for a time as I'd had endometriosis and major problems falling pregnant in the past. I'm no longer on the diet as I have my girl but I ate nutrient void foods, mainly rice based eg rice puffs, rice cakes, steamed rice, diet coke, dried cranberries, cinnamon yoghurt. Best of luck :)

If you have several months until you try you can't lose too much weight before then with that BMI. I would go high fat dairy if you aren't making your limits and definitely swap from brown to white rice and pasta. Are you measuring what you're eating with something like MyFitnessPal? Eating veges and fruit and low protein in the key. Is this all a big change from what you ate with your other children?

Ok I will make the switch back :-) I was eating it for several months but being misdiagnosed with PCOS I changed it completely, but now that I don't in fact have it,I think I need to change my diet again lol.Yeah,a massive change.I used to have protein shakes, lots of high protein, lots of salt.I loved burgers and pizza and ate lots of quinoa, brown rice and pasta dishes.I will keep the full fat dairy then to keep my limits.I have being having things like flaxseeds on my yoghurt and cinnamon, saw palmetto and vitex, two weeks on and off.Running everyday and a little weights.I was sitting on 30g protein and fat but have been eating between 30-40g protein most days.

Sorry I missed this, I don't usually read the support threads so if you have a question like this please start a thread in the forums.

If you're on the PCOS diet you should have ONLY full fat, not low fat dairy. Low fat dairy is really bad for blood sugar and may actually aggravate polycystic ovaries.

You also need to be eating 50-60 g protein. This is VERY important. EAT PROTEIN. All swayers need 40-50 g protein, this is the minimum for health and pregnancy. PCOS swayers need 50-60 g protein and 50-60 g fat because that is best for your sway and your health.

atomic sagebrush

DO NOT lose any more weight if you're already at 18.5. Add in cals of carbs, they don't need to be empty carbs, they can be fruit, grains, etc.

I also want you at 50-60 g protein and 50-60 g fat. If you are not eating those levels you may aggravate any tendencies you have towards having PCO. All people on the alternate diets need to be on full fat dairy only and NOT skim or part skim dairy because those can mess with blood sugar really badly and aggravate ovarian cysts.

None of these are positive. Line needs to be as dark or darker than control line. A faint line is negative. your body is always making the hormone the strips detect (and even your husband would get faint lines like that if he peed on the strips) it's only when it reaches a certain concentration that the stips will go positive and you'll ovulate.

Not necessarily, that happens all the time. All that those sticks indicate is how much hormone your body is shedding in its urine. (believe it or not, your husband could pee on the sticks and get those same types of lines - lighter, darker, nothing, something) It is only when the hormone reaches a certain concentration in blood, that your ovulation will be triggered. This USUALLY comes out in the urine, but may not end up registering properly if your urine is diluted or if you just happen to test at a point in time where most of the hormone has already come out, or hasn't come out yet.

Yes, you need to eat even if not hungry to get up to the 1500-1800 cal range, 40-50 g protein, and 30-60 g fat. This is in order for your body to continue ovulating and get and stay pregnant.

I used a nutritional tracker (myfitnesspal) and it didn't take long at all to work out meals that I'd often repeat. Happy to share some of the foods I was eating. Roast veggies with 1tbs olive oil and seasoning, asiana spring rolls, uncle bens mexican fried rice, linda mccartney cheese and leek plaits, borgs triangles spinach and ricotta, la zuppa vegetable minestrone soup and pumpkin soup, weight watchers vegetarian meals, birds eye steam fresh chickpea spinach corn pea pear couscous, on the menu vegetable lasange, woolworths select australian steak house chips, birds eye corn fritters, veggie delight sweet chilli and lime cakes. All these products I bought from woolworths :) I'd have bread with the rice or soup for lunch alot as it left me a good amount of fat and protein for dinner. Hope this helps!

I concentrated more on staying within calorie, protien and fat limits more than anything. I said before I didn't drink alcohol with meals plus my mccafe coffee's/morning coffees could be considered a meal too.

I think I'm doing a mix of IG and low everything... mainly low everything, but having lots of dairy (diet yoghurt, natural yoghurt, low fat ice cream), low sodium, low-ish potassium.

I don't add oil to my meals, so to make sure I get enough fat, I eat canned salmon and eggs, as well as chicken for protein. Is that bad..?

Renee, you have a custom forum and I am happy to go over and over all aspects of diet for you. That is what the coaching is for!

The only reason I mention specific products in the 21 day diet plans is just because it was easy to get the nutrient data. You guys should sub in any similar product available where you are at. You do not need to get hung up on the brands of foods, if it's a whole grain cracker for instance, just use a different whole grain cracker.

Hi girls, I'm new to this forum and to the diet too. Pbn3 - thanks for the list of foods you posted! Just a quick question though, it seems to all be quite high in sodium.. does that matter with this diet?

Thanks!

We have found data indicating that the sodium aspect almost certainly cannot sway in the ways that the old school swayers claimed that it did. Your body just holds on to more sodium from foods when you cut back on it and the levels in your body never change a bit (and we had people who did blood tests before and after mineral balancing diets and their sodium levels in their body actually went UP on the low sodium diets!!) Most of us have totally given up on that element and we have only improved our success rates since we did. I got my girl without limiting sodium, in fact DH and I both were eating quite a lot of it, after a failed sway where I was limiting sodium which yielded DS4.

Thanks for the screenshots Pbn3! :)

If you're eating lots of dairy, salmon, chicken and eggs you simply cannot be doing LE Diet. Cutting back on some nutrients is not enough. In fact we have found the nutrients in fruits and vegetables sway very little if at all and most people are eating lots of them. Low carb vegetables are FREE and unlimited on LE Diet you do not need to count them and can have as much as you want.

Limits of LE Diet are 1500-1800 cals for most people (some need to go a bit lower or a bit higher)
40-50 g protein (people with PCOS or insulin resistance go to 50-60 g)
30-60 g fat.

Trying to eat a bunch of dairy and the other stuff you're eating will put you way over on protein. My advice would be to ditch the skim dairy and go with full fat if you need fat.

Thanks for the reply atomic!

I didn't mean I was eating lots of dairy, salmon, chicken and eggs - I meant that when I had protein with my main meals, that was the protein I was choosing

Does the following sound ok..? I'm open to suggestions! :)

Eg. Lunch I'd have microwaved mixed frozen vegetables, with about 100g canned salmon. Corn thins (crackers). Diet yoghurt.

Snacks - low fat ice cream, canned soup, hunts chocolate pudding, oven baked frozen fries

Dinner is usually vegetables with chicken and an egg.

I keep within 1600-1700 calories, and have a BMI of 19, hence I don't want to lose anymore weight.
My periods have just returned after 2.5 years of breastfeeding, and my cycles are still irregular, so I don't want to jeopardise ovulation!

Also, Atomic --- I think I was getting confused as I was trying initially to follow the IG diet - limiting fruits to berries, apples, mandarins.
Based on what you said - it's ok to have lots of fruit and veg?
And not to worry about sodium - so 2 minute noodles are ok? :)

CAn you please tell me what your total amount of grams of protein and fat is??

you need to be in the range of 40-50 g protein and 30-60 g fat.

I also do not want you to lose any more weight!!! You can even up cals a bit if need be.

RE fruit and veg, we originally started out thinking that we needed to be strict on the amount of fruit and veg we had but over time we have found that the nutrients in them really don't seem to amount to much as all and it's things that are higher in protein and animal fats that are swaying blue. You'd have to eat a mountain of vegetables to get anything approaching the amount of nutrients in 100g salmon and the fiber in fruit and veg also seems to sway pink as well. People have tried to blend the diets but usually end up on a diet that is far too restrictive to stick to and may not be a safe pre-pregnancy diet.

Low carb veg are totally free and unlimited on LE Diet. Fruits and higher carb veg are free for protein and fat but you do count cals on them. When you have the option between a less nutritious and more nutritious fruit or veg, all things being equal, you can choose the lower nutrient one but that doesn't mean you can never have higher nutrient ones, they are still free and ok to eat, just that if you have the option may as well choose a lower nutrient one.

Oh and ramen and cup-noodles are fine provided they fit in your limits for the day. A lot of us have used those quite often!!

I also found some great soups that can be found in Coles that have no GMOs, so no meat, fish, shellfish, poultry, eggs or peanuts and wheat and gluten free also all dairy ingredients are made with pasteurized hormone free milk. They offer a range of vegan style meals but I did fall in love with the chunky tomato soup and to find something canned with no peanuts these days is next to impossible lols, here is a link to their products page: Amy's Kitchen Australia (http://www.amyskitchen.com.au/products/product-detail/soups/000645)
