i'm really hoping i get a BFP, because a succesful April sway is going to be super tricky with some things that we have going on in the month. That said, where there's a will there's a way, and what a nice mother day surprise it would be to get a bfp!

Hello April! I am so hopeful this month will be filled with so many BFPs that we can hardly keep up writing about them all!!!
God, please bless us all vocal and non on this thread and any other out there trying for their pink or blue dreams! AMEN!

Yes its still postive! I'm still unsure if its meds. Did trigger 11 days ago now, so its probable a real BFP, but still cautious, and I have to tell you I'm already nervous about gender.
OMG mocha you'll know in 4 days, I will pray and pray and pray. Do you have a gut feeling? I feel like my own feelings can't be trusted about myself! too clouded.

I'm freaking out, to be honest. My gut is telling me it's a boy, so I'm trying my best to prepare myself for that. I had GD after my failed sway with ds3 and I really don't want to feel that again. It'll be worse this time because this is definitely our last baby.
But on to more cheerful subjects...I REALLY hope this is your BFP, and that there's a pink bean growing in there!

Mocha~ my gut says boy for myself and I don't even know if I have a true BFP. Ridiculous! I think we are too close to be objective and want it so bad we are not clear. I truly hope you hear girl.

mocha-I didn't realize your scan was so soon! That's great!
hope-Can't wait to hear the good news from your b/w!
KD-What cd are you? How are the attempts going? Did you O any earlier?
As for me, I am on CRAZY cheat mode, even when I am not hungry. Did it yesterday and doing it today. No meat though. I will go back to the diet tomorrow, but I will be more relaxed. I think my plan is to do this for one more month. My dh has a lecture series to give in Vegas and I am going to go with him for a couple of the days. I think I will take the clomid days 3-7 instead of 5-9 too and see if that makes me O any earlier b/c I might miss part of my fertile time with him being in Vegas longer too. I want to be more relaxed about it too, if I snack a little, that might just have to be the case, at least I won't be a raging, joyless bitch. Then if I am still not pregnant at the end of May I think I will take off of ttc and swaying for the summer entirely. I won't even be vegetarian for the summer. Then start up again in the later fall early winter. That's the plan for now anyway.

Lassie -- FX that you're less than a week away from a BFP! I had a positive test on Father's Day for DS2, so it is special surprise to have!
Kraizy -- Thank you so much for your ongoing prayers. It's really uplifting and encouraging. Love it!!
Mocha -- So excited for your scan. Great things are in store!!
Amari -- Hey, so long as you have a plan for the next month, that's all you really need. I think that can be one of the hardest things with this diet, looking at it too long range. As in, OMG, I can't do that month after month after month! But really, we only need one month at a time ... and, really, one day at a time. As for cheating, the fact that you've stayed vegetarian is still great. Something is something and still helps sway the odds. You could never cheat ever ever ever and still get an opposite ... or you could become a meatatarian and survive on nothing but burgers and steaks, and get your girl. You've just got to do what you can live with! For me, my "cheating" is that I'm not writing down my foods anymore. Hopefully after 2-1/2 months, I've got at least a decent idea of what meals can include without being sky-high in protein or sodium or fat. And knowing that I don't have to write everything down and add everything up is taking some of my stress away. Oh, and BTW, Vegas is awesome. We saw a Cirqe show, went to the wax museum and the aquariam. Lots of fun!!

CD11 here and no +OPK, but my DH is in full speed ahead mode this month LOL! It's very surprising this cycle, I mean we DTD 3 times yesterday and once early this morning. I hope I can keep up LOL!!! We are just trying to have fun this month and not stress about it which we have stressed all the previous months, so maybe it will work this cycle. I am starting to have a little ovary pains/twinges, so I do think I will O earlier than CD15 that I have the last few cycles, so maybe taking my Clomid earlier 3-7 will help me. We kid about how multiples LOL!!! I would love it!!!
Many happy girly vibes, prayers and wishes to you all!!!

KD -- Good luck with your attempts! This month has to be your month.
H&D -- You are so pregger's! You took the shot 11 days ago...it is absolutely a positive test! 100%! Get excited girl!!
Mocha -- I can't wait to hear about your gender scan. It is so nerve racking. I wish you all the best and pray you hear "its a GIRL!"
I am a couple weeks away from starting my stims -- will begin them the week of the 16th. I am kinda scared. I keep going back and forth -- am I crazy doing another cycle? Am I making a big mistake?? I know I will get lots of eggs -- my RE and I already accomplished that; and I am pretty sure there will be girls to transfer. Where I get crazy nervous is whether those girls will implant. Will those girl embryo's be good enough to become my baby in the end? That si what freaks me out. And every part of me want twins. At this point, Dylan (my 3 yr old), is going to be nearly 4 when I have a baby. It would be nice to give the baby a sibling, one she can play with since my boys will be so far ahead. 2 girls would be a dream come true, but I will gladly take only one. I won't be greedy. I think I will consider transferring 3 if I have 3 to transfer -- that way I have higher hopes that at least one will take and hopefully 2.
In the mean time I started my prenatal and eating really well. Tons of veggies and fruit, nothing processed, chicken and fish, low fat dairy, little to no alcohol. I just want to be really really healthy.
I am praying for all of us that April/May will bring us lots of bfp and baby girls on the way!

Kraisy- that was the view I took this month. I was really relaxed when dtd and tried to b after and it may have worked! I think I was tense in Feb which didn't help!
Peony- thank you! How are u feeling?
Prayforprincess - I am so happy for you! I was tempted to do HT $stops me I could find it but the idea of ending up without a pregnancy scares me. But now I'm scared of what gender I might have. Either way it's a gamble I guess. Thanks for the positive encouragement that it's a true positive. Why don't I think so for sure? I'm scared now to b honest. I really dont want a boy.
Frer and cheapie still positive today. 11dpo 12 days past trigger..., please please please b pink or I'm gonna be committed.

So good to see the April thread. Wishing all of us much luck and BFP's
Dh was doing FR we started dtd at o-4 ...o-3, o-2 and now I got a smiley on digital OPK this am ( it was negative last night). My questions is... Should I keep dtd? Dtd 1 more time today and stop ?
or just keep dtd through O. Yes, I want to get pregnant but I also don't want to mess this up
I have been on diet since feb 1 strictly and since jan 1 loosely. I have taken SP and vitex 2 months.
I have little EWCM so I dropped the zyrtec and j& d.

I think you should definitely dtd tonight and tomorrow night. Timing does not sway, and you want the bfp. o-4 is a far fetch one, sometimes it can be enough but sometimes it can amount to nothing.
You have been so strict on the diet and taking your supp's -- its time for bfp. If you want to be conservative, then dtd tonight and tomorrow night, and get up and wipe after 5-10 minutes both times. But I would definitely do it - it won't mess up your sway. And if you get a bfn then you will wish you had, and this way you'll know for sure you did everything you could to get your bfp this month.

H&D -- I think you are committed hun, that is a real bfp! Try to stay positive. You can't change anything now. Stay positive until you know for sure, I know it is hard. But as my friend told me, there is no sense in freaking out til your scan when it could very well be a girl. Then you will have wasted all this time feeling down. Instead keep your chin up and think cautiously positive until you know for sure. If god forbid it is a boy, then you will deal with it when the time comes; but it could happily be a girl and you could've been excited this whole time.
You swayed soooooo hard -- there was nothing more you could do. Be confidant with knowing that -- you can sleep well knowing what is meant to be now is meant to be and you did ALL you could.

Hey ladies! Happy April!
KD, I LOOOOOOOVVVE that you and your DH are already getting started. It should be fun! I think changing the clomid from 3-7 is good too, and what a blessing to have twin girls would be!!!!
PFP, I also love the idea of transfering 3-2 girl embryos. I totally agree with this as it will def. increase chance of at least one baby sticking, and also if you do have 2 then you will give your daughter a built in sister. Love it!
Hope & Dreams, I def. think that's a real BFP, but I understand if you want to be cautious and double-check. I agree that natural swaying AND HT are both gambles, but of course in different areas. This natural swaying is a gamble with gender; I think you did great on diet and you already concieved a girl naturally before, so I totally think you can do it again. I really do believe in what's meant to be is meant to be (remind me of this in 3 weeks please when I have my scan!), and if you concieve a little baby, that baby is meant to be with your family. Just try to remember that. I know it's easier said than done, for sure.
Dramabird & Lassie, this is your month for BFPs!
Amari, I love the plan of being in Vegas and taking your clomid earlier and trying to relax and enjoy...I think this sounds like a good strat towards getting a BFP!
I am looking more pregnant now and less fat, lol. My bump is up high and it surprised me becuase my boys I carried low, so I am really into the OWT about high = girl, but I need to keep myself in check, but it sure is fun dreaming :) I looked at some girl spring dresses on Sat in the mall and I shouldn't have. It made me think of how awesome it'd be to induldge in that! Then I made myself walk over to the boy's side and glanced around, wasn't so exictied of course, but there was a really cute lil outfit that said "pinch me, I'm cute" and I could imagine a lil boy wtih blue eyes wearing it.

I'm really hoping my high bump is a good sign too! :fx: for both of us!
I keep peeking at girl outfits too, and I'm soooo scared I'll never be able to buy one for my own baby. No matter what I hear on Thursday, though, I'm going to go out and buy a new outfit - either pink or blue.

mydream~ Ditto. I would have told you the same thing. If you get a BFN, diet is hard to be as strong as the months go and that sways the hardest. Better have more attempts and 100% diet.

I have always found out gender at 12 weeks. I go to an u/s doctor specialist -- not just a tech. So he is always able to tell me at 12 weeks for 90% sure what gender it will be. And he has not been wrong yet.
Most the time at 12 weeks the genitals are there, and if they are not quite there then you can still tell. All babies have the same sex organ until around 11-13 weeks when it starts to become either the penis or vg. So, if the sex organ is pointing up, then it will turn into the penis and become a boy. If the sex organ is pointing more downward, then it will become the vg and be a girl. With my boys, it was always pointing straight up towards their belly button and it was obvious it would be a boy. I remember with ds#3 I had my check up with my ob after my u/s scan. I was crying hysterically knowing it was a boy. She told me things might change and its still early. I showed her the picture and said that there is no way with how far up that "thing" is pointing that'd its going down now and becoming a vg. Sadly, she agreed. It's very obvious at 12 weeks if you get a good shot -- you can be 80-90% certain.

Did you gals see the 60 minutes episode with Dr.Potter -- ivf/pgd? It aired in February but you can view it online.
By Design (http://sixtyminutes.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8443410)
I am so happy for the woman but she made it all look so easy. Had 6 or 7 boys, then just flew to CA and on her 1st cycle got pg with a beautiful baby girl. Had froze one, and 18 months later flew back to CA to do a frozen cycle and boom, now she's like 10 weeks pg with dd#2. So so so lucky! It does make me jealous. I wish it was that easy all you need to do is make a xx embryo, transfer it in and boom you are having a baby girl. If that was the case WAY more women would be doing ivf. Unfortunately, only about 20% of couples that do it get pg on their 1st shot.
Why can't I ever make the positive odd's, I always seem to make the negative low odd's though.
Like, I had back surgery in March 2011, only 5-10% chance at most that the problem would reoccur. Wouldn't you know, it did and I went in for surgery again this past January. My 1st ds was born with gastroschesis (he is 100% perfect now, u'd never know), but only roughly 20 kids in the whole world (that they know of) are born with this yearly, and of course -- he had it.
For once, pleeeeease -- can I fall into those "good" lower odds???

I too am the one with the 1% chance it will happen to you. Actually its rely been for this past year but Its been one thing after the other happen.

Not sure KD. I think usually you O a little earlier, but I just read you usually O on cd 15 when you take it 5-9, and that is a normal/good time to O so it might not change it for you. How are your O pains/opks? KUP!

If you feel better taking Zyrtec, I would.
I also had a feeling if I kept using rephresh it would take a few cycles to get pg so I dropped it and got pg that same month. Good luck ladies!!!
Can't wait till it reads PEAK on your monitor KD! I still think a ton and ton of BD'ing will sway pink!
Hope, any update today?

you can take a zyrtec and just use a tiny tiny tiny finger tip of rephresh this morning if you are going to dtd tonight. Like, max 1/4 application. The rephresh will dry you right up.
But, if you really wanna get pg then I would just take a zyrtec and skip the rephresh. Frankly, I don't believe that cm sways one way or another, and it is necessary for all sperm (xx & xy) to reach the egg. You have no cm, then even the xx can't get there easily. As I have mentioned, I have a lot of gf's with tons of cm who all have girls.
My vote - tkae a zyrtec and just dtd again today and once more tomorrow just to be sure. Once you start getting -opk's, then make that night your last attempt night; but keep going til then.
I think this is your month mydream!

I am very biased to April! It's my birthday on the 8th (also Easter this year) I'll be 34.
DS2 turns 1 on April 29th. When i was pregnant with him, before I knew he was a boy, I was dreaming about how I'd be so lucky to share a birth month with a daughter--that both our birthstones would be same, and she'd love being born in the Spring like I always did. Now my dream is that sharing a birth month will be special for me and my chunky monkey :)
Of course my mind wandered to September, and i think sapphire is a gorgeous, and a great birth stone. It's only made my desire for a daughter a little stronger, because when I was a pre-teen I got ears pierced with the faux sapphire instead of the faux diamond because I loved the color better, lol. But anyway....
I hope everyone gets very, very blessed in April with a BFP or at least getting knocked up! Nothing like the Spring!

kd- I always get my +opk the day of my temp drop.
It sounds like you are really close!
You know, I need to look at my previous charts to see when I get my OPK's and their temps. Why I never thought of this, I don't know LOL!!!

I still think a ton and ton of BD'ing will sway pink!
I really like reading that because that's the part about my upcoming cycle I'm still questioning. We did one attempt for cycle one (BFN) and four attempts right around +opk for cycle two (BFN); for cycle three, we're planning to switch to FR instead of abstain. But I'm wondering how many BD sessions I ought to plan on. It confuses me: We do things to lower sperm (tighty-whites, FR or abstain, etc.) ... but aren't we overriding all that if we put lots of sperm on the scene through frequent BD?
How many attempts are those of you who are TTC planning for this month? Or for those of you who are expecting, how many attempts did you use during your successful month?
I'll still be using RepHresh, so I'm not as concerned about the pH of frequent BD ... but the sperm count issue does niggle at me. Ack -- what to do?

auroara.. I was thinking the same about BD'ing.. and kind of wanted to try that this month instead of abstain.

It's just from real life experience that I've heard too many stories from RL friends about non stop baby dancing and then having girls. Some of the women went from after AF to O with 1-2 attempts + a day! (a little nuts!) but they all ended up with girls, I'm not saying that's the only reason why but I think it has to do with the idea that the sperm cannot "recover" as fast as the demand is, and even though you are still BD'ing a lot, the sperm cannot compete and therefore it is not as much sperm as you'd think completely making it up there.
I am skeptical about one time only being good for girl, because in theory, how we concieved our two boys was very "girl" friendly way of doing them: they were pull out opps that my husband swears he didn't ejecuate fully. So if he is right, then that means that whever sperm did make it in there wasn't in high quantity number, which *should* have made us girls, right?
Yet my diet was so boy-friendly and I had alot of CM back in those days, so I definitely think in our case frequency of sex and low amount of sperm DID NOT help at all because of our lifestyle--I was lifting weights and working out moderately with DS1, and taking fish oil supps, eating plenty of meat and veggies, chocolate, etc.
So it is hard for me to say if I really buy into the frequent BD = boys, because I don't. I strongly believe extremes play a role here, as in lots and lots of BD'ing helps concieve girls or still very few. I think moderate BD'ing (every other day or every two days) DEFINITELY sways boy, but again, diet and maternal health play a huge role in this equation. I also know couples who "followed" doctor's orders about BD'ing every other day to max. sperm count, and have a perfect pigeon pair.

Having multiple attempts will not override what you are doing to sway -- it may actually be some women's (most women's) only way of conceiving while swaying pink.
There is no way of knowing for sure, but more than likely dtd multiple times while swaying pink still might give you less sperm than dtd only once in optimal conditions.
Think of it -- your dh has not release in about 4 days, then you dtd o-2. He has optimal sperm count and you are using nothing. Roughly 50-300 million sperm are released and only about 3 million get thru your cervix, and of that only about 250 tops reaches the egg (fact). And for many many many women, that still is not enough and they are less likely to get pg only dtd once in their fertile window.
Now think of us lady swayers -- dh is releasing daily (or abstaining) to lessen his sperm count, you are taking zyrtec to dry up your cm hence making is difficult for ALL sperm to swim, and you are using rephresh and lord knows what else (and sylk, or replens etc) which all lowers sperm count more by killing or road blocking even more sperm. I am willing to bet, from the optimal 3 mil thru ur cervix and 250 sperm that make it to your egg -- when doing all the above, only about 500,000 get thru your cervix and maybe 40 get to your egg...and that is probably a high guesstimate.
Now you understand why you might have to dtd multiple times in order to conceive? And many believe that it only takes one sperm but that is not true. It takes many many sperm to start eating away at the outer layer of the egg before one reaches close enough inside the layer to actually penetrate the egg. 1 sperm cannot possibly get thru the outer layer alone to reach the egg. So yes, it takes one sperm to fertilize the egg, but it takes many sperm to help get it there.
Honestly, all the road blocks do is lower sperm count -- its not like it kills the boys or anything. Like doing all that will ensure all the xy sperm are dead -- we wish! In lowering sperm count, whatever makes it will still roughly be 50/50 male to female. So that is why ultimately -- your diet, supplements and overall maternal condition is what is doing your sway; and all that other stuff may only be swaying for you about 2-3% tops. You can do all the girl dtd method and have a boy friendly diet, and more than likely conceive a boy even though you lowered sperm count and used rephresh etc.
So, please don't torture yourself Drama -- you are so strict on the diet and that is your ultimate weapon. Its ok to let some sperm up there, its the only way you will get pregnant. How much sperm is there will not determine whether the xx or xy penetrate thru your egg...its your diet and maternal condition that will.

This makes me feel so much better about our frequent DTD. Your numbers certainly helped me put my mind more at ease.
With my boys, I keep remembering when I found out what CM was that you needed to DTD before you saw EWCM, so that is what we did and have 4 boys, so this way I am not just trying before the EWCM, I am DTD straight through, so maybe there is a little girl in there that will meet the egg and all her bros can help her make her way through to fertilizaton LOL!!!
I really wonder about DH count and maybe that why we have not gotten pregnant, my DH sperm count may be way too low now? but if it is low is frequesnt DTD a good thing or bad?

thanks, ladies. I feel so much better. I'm thinking we might BD a lot this cycle and see what happens. maybe more than once a day.. if I am not too umm.. how can I put it, raw? down there lol. with ds, we were BD'ing once every other day or every 2 days. plus, I was on a way boy friendly diet. I'm putting 110% on the diet and trying to relax with everything else, as far as timing goes and jellies. going to take cranberry and folic acid.. probably dropping vitex.

It depends on your dh. If he has a lower sperm count to begin with, then dtd daily will lower it possibly too much. With men who already have a low sperm count, dtd daily is not recommended. If fact, if he has a low sperm count already, then it is not necessary to lower it more by having him fr until attempts etc.
And at most, I would say then dtd every 36 hours, but not every 24. More ideally if his count is low, then dtd every 48 hours. That allows enough time so that sperm are "there" -- where as every 24 hours there may be so few, that is if he has a low count.
Many men are fine, and dtd daily does not effect their count at all. Some can dtd 2x daily and still have a decent count. But some men with a low count, if they dtd 2x daily they will be shooting blanks. KWIM?
So, it really depends on your dh. If you are having trouble getting pg dtd daily for months now then I would hold back. Either do not have him fr til your attempts and only start dtd daily when you begin your attempts. Or cut back and only have him release/attempts every 36-48 hours from af-o. If his count is low, then releasing every 48 hours from af-o is lowering his count enough -- a count that is already low.

nope, unfortunately.
You really have to get his semen analyzed.
You may kinda have an idea if you have been dtd every day for months and months and you are not getting pregnant. But again, that is knowing nothing for sure because there can be other factors at play as to why u are not conceiving.
I would suggest getting it checked just for your own piece of mind and not to waste more months having him release constantly greatly reducing your chance of getting pg if it is low. It only takes a second and the results come back in a few days. Good luck.

I hope you are having a girl so badly, but please know that dtd however frequently or infrequently had no factor on the outcome - only helped you to get pg quicker. It was mostly the diet you have been on for months on end that was your magic wand.

I'm leaving on a few for the blood test. Hopefully I'll get results before my docs office closes for the day thus afternoon. I'm nervous bc it's still coming up positive but the lines look a bit lighter each day. It making me think it's the meds leaving my system.
Pfp- you sounded pretty sure this was real. Do u still think so with the lines being a bit lighter? Could the tests vary a little? The cheapies are def way lighter then 8dpo, today is 13dpo, the frer from today is similar to yesterday but a drop lighter then 2 days ago. So I'm a little concerned.
I sound crazy!
prayforprincess
April 4th, 2012, 08:16 AM
h&d -- It is so very unlikely, and more sounding impossible that you would still have the trigger in your system 14 days after taking it. It just does not happen -- it is completely gone by max. 10 days past taking it. That is like 8 or 9dpo.
Maybe the lines are getting a little lighter because at 8dpo the trigger shot might have been a little in your system -- and then combined with the pg hcg...hence a bit darker. But by now (and since a few days), the trigger shot is outta your system and all you are seeing is the hcg level in your urine turning the test positive and at this point -- 13dpo, its still gonna be light.
When I was pg with the twins, I took at frer the morning of my blood test (had been getting +'s for 3 days already). At 9dp5dt the test line on the frer was still light -- clearly there, but not bold or dark like the control line. My blood came back that afternoon at 327. frer are not going to get super dark until your beta is really really high, which yours is not right now. It'll probably come back anywhere from 100-250.
And don't think about a chemical -- its unlikely to happen. Take it one moment at a time and be confidant.

Mydream -- Since you are getting so many +opk's, just to be on the safe side I would continue to dtd until 2 days after your 1st -opk. So, if you get a -opk this morning, then still dtd tonight and tomorrow night.
Those +opk's make me a little nervous as to when you are really gonna ovulate and with all the effort you put into this month you don't wanna miss it now. Are you temping? That would be helpful. I would definitely continue to dtd daily until you have a confirmed temp spike (temp's in the 98's)

Going to docs office they are going to repeat bloods and probably put me on progesterone. Leaving on like 10 mins

Okay so I need you all's opinion on O. I had left pains on cd13 and got +OPK, then on cd14 I got really bad middle abdominal pains and another +OPK with some spotting and today cd15, I am feeling a few twinges. Looking at my chart, do you think I Oed on the cd13 or 14? Cd14 did not work out to well on DTD, although we did this am at 2, so not sure if I missed the egg or not? What do you all think? I continue to DTD? I am thinking so just to be sure, but am wondering if all the DTD, is making the spotting. I mean yesterday, when the really bad middle pains started, I feel something leaking and when I checked it was blood, or spotting on my underwear and when I wiped so I am unsure. I have bled or spotted the past cycles on Clomid anyone else have this happening?

I think you did O but I would still BD until FF gave me crosshairs because with the Clomid, you can't afford to miss any opportunity to catch the egg.
Did you not TTC at all before that? CD 12 or 13?? I think you need to be BD in the days BEFORE you think you're going to O.

Well if my temp goes up again, on FF it says cd 13 is O day. We DTD cd10 (3 times), cd11 (2 times), cd12 (none), cd13 (2 times), cd14 (none), and cd15 (1 time so far today). So what do you think AS?
What about the O pains? Does O happen before, after, or during?

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up with a chemical. Went to doc, they did repeat beta, will get results tomorrow. Got prescription for progesterone. Came home, ate something and then went to pee before getting prescription and it was like AF started. I am more upset that my diet was terrible in the 2WW And I don't know if I should skip April. Or if being SUPER SUPER strict with calories, Season/April, having a chemical, uping clomid to 150mg, and being on pregesterone right now would out weigh cheats in the 2WW. Would love feedback. I'm sure by tonight I will have AF. :( , finally a BFP and this.

Oh H&D, I am so sorry.
I say hit the diet hard core and try this month. I really don't think you need to skip a month. You have not been that bad at all -- have you gained any weight? Even if you have, going back hard core on the diet you will lose even more now.
Hugs to you .. and I really hope your blood work comes back positive.

I hope the baby still sticks, but...I would keep going this month, if it is a chemical, I think the seasons/and progesterone plus the early m/c itself (soooo sorry) may sway girl strongly...

Pfp- haven't gotten on scale. I probably did gain I do super fast but l lose super fast. If I gained I will lose all of it in a week or less.
Nuthinbutpink- they added progesterone levels to Wednesday's bloods and did beta and progesterone for today's. I also started on progesterone today.

Hope, I am sure I had a chemical this past cycle. I had spotting on 10dpo then started cramping about an hot later and got af. So a super early af... Which makes me think it was. Of course I diet take a test as that was my worst fear... Getting an early bfp and then it not going thru:(
Anyway I at least get to try again sooner but I totally cheated and only got back on track after af started! I'm going for it this month even with that! I know my body has changed so much and I think I feel comfortable with it!
I do hope your numbers go up! My friend thought she was miscarrying as drs office said her test there was a faint positive and the last time she did miscarry... But low and behold the numbers sky rocketed and baby held... So yah never know!! Hoping for yah for sure:)

Talk about a rollercoaster day -- Mocha, congratulations!! HopeandDream, sending lots of positive, happy thoughts your way.
Nothing too exciting to report around these parts. I'm still avoiding food-journaling and sticking to mostly veggies, fruit and "junk" (cookies, candy, ice cream, etc.). My weight is staying pretty consistent, in the 96ish-97ish lb. area. A few days ago, the scale did read 95.8 -- I DID NOT tell DH about that ... he would freak! So I figure that, even without journaling, I must be keeping the fat, protein and calories pretty much in check. I did find some matzo at Trader Joe's and I made Atomic's matzo pizza last night -- it *was* delicious!! Gonna have that again tonight, along with some white wine, maybe an apple ... and then bring on the "junk." :)
Speaking of a different kind of junk -- hee hee -- DH is "so far, so good" on the switch to FR. We pretty much DTD daily when conceiving DS1, so we're having him release twice daily, once in the a.m. and once in the p.m. Starting around CD10, we'll have the p.m. one be with me.
So, I'm going to ask a question here and please don't think I'm horrible. Does anyone else feel like they can't win (with themselves, emotionally/mentally) when ladies announce the results of their sway? If someone gets an opposite, I feel all despair-y, like "Oh no ... swaying doesn't work!" And if someone gets their DG, I'm happy for them, but I also have a "all the girls are taken now! only boys are left!" freak-out because, y'know, statistics can eat your brains for dinner.
I'm a bad person, aren't I? Everyone else is sweet and pure-hearted and I'm a Sucky Suckerson, aren't I? Aaaaarrrgggghh.
I don't mean to be a Scrooge Swayer. I want to be good. *slapping away jealousy and fear* Be gone, shame spiral ... must get that wine now! :)

If this is a chemical, though, I agree with auroara - definitely try this month. I think getting pregnant the first cycle after my m/c was a big factor in me getting my girl.

And a hug for you, too! Especially given that you're going through a challenging time right now, your kindness is much appreciated.
Much like Atomic, my mom said she had mini "periods" while pregnant with me. One suggestion, FWIW: I'd stop temping now. I never temped after a BFP because I was afraid any drops would completely freak me out.
And I agree with the others: If this does turn out to be a chemical, def. jump back on the TTC wagon. Some cheats or whatnot during the 2ww won't make or break your sway ... whereas forcing yourself to wait and essentially start over could be detrimental emotionally and make you throw in the towel altogether.
But the hope is that all of that will be moot because this tough little (pink) bean is gonna stick! I'm adding my prayers to Kraizy's, right here and now.

H&D -- I think it sounds like everything will be ok. I am happy for you.
Mocha -- Amazing news! You are so blessed. I can only imagine how incredible it was to hear "its a girl". I would have been crying. Go shop some pink now!
Drama -- I feel the same way. You are sooooooo normal. When I hear of a swaying opposite I think "it must not work" and when I hear of a swaying DG I think "so happy it worked for them; but was it the swaying that worked or was it meant to be, I don't know." But I also think that I could never be that lucky that it would work on me, like I would be one of the women who have a swaying opposite for sure, no matter how hard I try. I just feel like I will never have a daughter and I should give up, b/c I will never be one of those lucky ones -- and its only that much more heartbreaking in the end having thought that I possibly could be a lucky one.
So don't beat yourself up about beating yourself up -- I do it too!

And I need to believe my words. I'm already thinking boy. For no reason. I had a killer sway just feel like nothing has gone my way for a looooong time.

Hope -- Absolutely eat breakfast!
I know how it is though -- I still am not eating anything til like 10am and I am off the diet. I have put on a couple lbs. and I keep thinking to watch my calories and eat low calories and I don't want to gain weight. But then I think it probably is not best to only be eating 1200 calories a day going into this cycle.
Yes, still on bc pills for another week and then starting my stims. I keep thinking what a dream come true it would be if this cycle worked out. How utterly amazing it will be to poas getting a bfp knowing I am having a baby girl. The thought of it just makes me so overjoyed that it makes me feel like being that utterly happy could just never happen. I really do pray it does though.

PFP, I am praying and hoping this HT cycle works for you. I think that sounds like a fab thought...peeing on a stick and KNOWING you are growing your daughter 100% sure! I love the idea of that! I do feel it coudl so happen for you.
H&D, I agree, eat and enjoy breakfast! Your bean needs it! And I also am so suprrised you'd think boy when you sway was off the rails awesome! Can't wait to hear your blood test results, and I think a pos. HPT is still good. Remember TTC5 had some spotting i believe, and her bean is very healthy and nestled in good :) so while this can be concerning, I am praying that everything will turn out awesome.
Drama, I have the same feelings too. When I see a sway that works, I feel renewed; like swaying can work, maybe my sway worked too. But then sometimes I still think well if everyone is having girls, then that leaves not a single one for me....then of course I wonder about destiny, which I've pondered here before, and wonder if that person was just *meant* to have that gender at that time, and that even if they weren't swaying, they would have gotten it? I dunno. But I do know that Mocha's particular sway filled with more hope that I've had my whole pregnancy, because of the whole we were a day apart in ouvulation and a day apart in due dates. I was really worried after my sway that getting preg in late Dec was a bad idea because of "ions" (I know, I know, remember I was on IG for a while?) but seeing that she did concieve a girl a day before me at least lets it *seem* possible for me. I am really happy for her, and also really happy about my own new peace of mind. I would rather think positive and think girl for the next 3 weeks before I find out, than have a knot in my stoamch and dread the next 3 weeks, you know?

Amari, what did dh say?
So trying to get my pity party behind me. I was on the phone with my mother crying and I was saying it was good to have me around because if something was going to go wrong it would happen to me so no one else needed to worry. Seriously, if there's a hundred people in a room and something bad is going to happen it will be to me. She didn't address what I said and instead said you really are looking fabulous (due to the LE I am looking really good)! I just started hysterical laughing, like at least I have that!!
Anyway, AF seems to be here and I am really glad that I don't need to wait weeks for it to come. April is the month last year that I conceived a girl. I CANNOT BELIEVE ITS BEEN A YEAR AND I AM NOT EVEN PREGNANT.......OK seriously I am not dramatic IRL, actually the total opposite I AM JUST OVER IT.

Kraisy- how r u? Hope your doing well in the 2ww.
Getting blood results later today from yesterday. Hoping numbers are down (ironic) so I can start clomid today. Cd 3 today!
Trying to keep busy on other thoughts besides ttc. Think it help last month. Reading the hunger games. Loving it so far. Anyone read it? I never read between my boys and work, activities but I'm enjoying it right now!

Hi Hope, I hope your levels are back to normal. I know you said it's ironic you say that, but if there were not the darn early HPTs you probably would not even know you were pregnant? I hear so many ladies getting pregnant right after a MC and it's always girls it seems, so I am rooting and praying for you. Did your doctor say anything about you going on progesterone after ovulation to help the bean stick? Will you be doing the trigger shot this time as well?
I just don't know if I will test early this time. I have one FRER left and I guess I will use it when I am officially a day late. Do not quote me on this when I cave and test early LOL!!!
I am good. I am 7DPO I think. I say this because my temps are so high that I keep clicking disregard then on my FF chart because it is changing my O date to cd15 and I know that it had already happened, so I am not sure what is going on. I hope my temp stays up cause that mean progesterone is really high right? Plus I did take the Clomid on cd3-7 instead of what was on the bottle of cd5-9, so maybe that is the cause? I have my 21-progesterone blood work tomorrow, so I hope it's through the roof. I have had a few abdominal twinges/cramps but nothing that lasted for a long enough period for me to think it was implantation yet. I know I am way too early for that and my temps would surely come down with an implantation dip if that was the case? I just keep scrutinizing everything my body does these days, hoping, praying that I don't have to take Clomid anymore.
Have a wonderfully blessed day ladies!!!! Hugs and girly vibes, baby dust, wishes and everything pink to you all!!!

Hope you see a BFP mygirl!
Good luck with your numbers Hope! Hopefully you can start Clomid ASAP n get straight back into it. I've just started reading Hunger games too, only a chapter in. Everyone loves it so I'm looking forward to getting into it.
Well we just dtd. It was a knee jerk reaction because I think I ovulated early. I got a very light line on Sunday (cd11) night with FR, then another light line on Monday (cd12) arvo but still nowhere near the control line, then no line at all later that night. I took 2 CBFM today (cd13) , but no smileys. I usually get smiley b/w cd14-16. Had lots of cm last few days n noticed that it disappeared during the day n when I tried to feel for cp all inside felt really swollen n hard to insert my finger (sorry tmi!) I had a few ov like twinges on left side today n last night too.
So I thought, if in doubt dtd. I don't want to miss the egg! Another month on the diet terrifies me!! But because it was rushed, DP didn't have hot shower, Rephresh was used about 70hrs ago (was going to use tonight), and we dtd after dinner so I'm worried blood sugar will not be low enough. Im really bummed that it didn't all go to plan and I couldn't incorporate all the other sway things that I normally use. :tissue:
I hope I did the right thing dtd; it doesn't really matter if we were too early, I just pray we weren't too late! We are doing abstain so we are going to try n dtd again in a couple of hours while sperm numbers are still low. It's 11pm here so poor DP will have to be woken up for another round...I'm sure he's feeling used and abused, lol. think I will continue to take opks n see what happens. Just to be safe might get DP to switch to compressed fr in case we have to have another attempt in a couple of days. Fx this is it for us!:pinksperm:

Hope, I hope the results are also the ones you want! I have the trilogy of The Hunger Games but I haven't started it yet. I want to though, I hear they're really good. actually, I've read the first chapter lol.. I've been distracted with other books lately.
Kraizy, I know what you mean about testing early. for me, it was more like torture.. so I don't think I will test until after AF is due.. especially when I got evaps and I'd never gotten any before and my hopes were up only to be crushed. oh well, you live and you learn.

Haven't read the Hunger Games yet, but I'm sure I'll like it. I do read a ton, but it usually goes in cycles where I spend all my free time reading and then I'll read so much I'll take a few months off.
Hope, I hope you can start the clomid today and I still think proceeding with TTC right after a chemical can only help your chances of your babe being a girl.
Amari, I cannot express how happy I am that you got a BFP! Yay!!! You can now eat what you want, and enjoy it! My only thoughts are enjoy whatever you want right this moment, because I don't know if you experienced any MS or not with your boys, but my stomach starts to feel *off* around 6 weeks.
Lala, I agree that TTC esp. when swaying does not always go according to plan!! For my sway, I wanted to DTD a few days in a row because that is sooooo NOT our pattern (husband has a very low sex drive, and this would have tasked him) but he couldn't perform like that, so I had to go with a frequency I really did not like, plus I did not use rephresh the month i got a BFP because I got a BFN in Nov.
Easter was OK for me; it was bday too, and that was a problem, that it felt very unspecial, and I was just mierable that day, tho I kept it together for the boys. Plus I really dislke my husband's family and having to spend an entire day with them clucking and fussing made it even worst; it was like the bday from hell, and well DH didn't do anything for my bday either, he got me a cake, but only because DS1 made it a big deal. I guess I should just grow up; birthdays really are for kids, anyways, to enjoy.

Kraisy - it's true I would not have known it was a bfp but also had blood work bc of the trigger so I will know each time! Do u know where the thread is about the difference in taking clomid 3-7 vs 5-9? Was it earlier in this thread. Or march ttc?
Lala- it never goes as planned. The good thing is there really is no "wrong way" you can just compensate in another way.
Auoara- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Waiting on doc office to call me with my numbers. Really hoping I can start my clomid tonight. Don't want to have to make decision about trying without it!
Ribbons- 5 days. Wow I'm impressed.

Aurora, Happy Birthday! :celebrate:
I can totally relate to feeling down on your birthday. As a kid, my mom always made me feel so special on my BD, and now, my DH just doesn't care. I think some men (or some people who just grow up differently) think of adult birthdays as no big deal! I can remember crying one year because DH wouldn't do anything for me even tho I had requested a certain cake and to go out to dinner. I must have got to him because the next year, I came home and he and my boys had decorated the whole dining room with pink balloons and Princess birthday decorations. They even had a big princess hat for me and had bought me a very expensive handbag as a gift. They remarked that since I was the only girl in the house, I was the "Princess." It just goes to show, even the most indifferent husband can surprise you one day.
Since then, I've still been planning my own birthdays, but I realize it's just not in my DH's personality to plan things for me. I *think* I've finally accepted it :) When your boys get older, you can plant ideas in their heads too... it never hurts to get them trained to take care of mama on her BD!

So ladies with shorter cycles... Do you ovulate earlier? I am usually around 30 days but this last one ( on vitex etc) it was only 26... If you read an opk pkg they say to test earlier like day 8 or 9 with that short a cycle... I guess I have the problem with irregular cycles now! I tested negative today and yesterday opk ( today is cd 14)
I guess I will just keep trying, my worry is I ovulated early and missed the boat!! I remember have twinges about cd9ish but pretty much ignored it!!
Not thinking to do this diet another month as my friend accidentally got knocked up and is sooo sick! I just don't want to feel that way again and she is bringing it all back to me which is scaring me much to her dismay, she wants company!!!
Wow! That was long winded!! Thx for any advice!!

Hi coocoo,
I have always had 25-day cycles (+ or minus) and I usually ovulate on CD 12. It's great the vitex has changed your cycles; Atomic says that shows its doing something that might sway. Did you have any attempts on or before cd 12-13? If not, don't despair, this time it could have made your cycle longer...
I can totally relate about the m/s. I had it so bad every time- in and out of hospital, just feeling horrible even when I could eat. I swear food just tastes yucky when I am pregnant! I am NOT looking forward to that. I plan on making some sort of big calendar so I can cross off the weeks and days as I go. Still, I'm not worrying too much, I will just be so grateful to be PG at my age (40!) :)
Good luck this month! :luck:

We have actually been bd'ing instead of FR just cause I was tired of asking him if he did his "job" not like he ever had a problem with it but seriously just too weird! So other than a couple days of doing other things then dtd... We did get a few in, although I did j&d and set... So probably left nothing in there! We shall see! My cycles can be anywhere fro 24 days to 28 days but the first month I was on vitex my body geared up to ovulate super early...I got a smiley face on cd 8 or something...then we dtd..then like 5 days later I was having tons of EWCM and I tested again at like CD 14 and it was another smiley face...wacky cycle. This cycle seemed more consistent. Good Luck!!

So I jumped the gun a little bit because after x2 bd last night thinking I had missed my lh surge, I got a smiley this afternoon. I should have just waited!! I guess it doesn't really matter, it just means I have more of a cut-off. Think we may even try an o+12, we might as well, if DP can handle it that is. I'm a little angry at myself because it wasn't the attempt I had planned. But last month was the perfect sway but ended up in bfn, so there's no point in a perfect sway if you don't get pg is there?! Oh well, nothing I can do about it now!
has anyone in this thread attempted an o+12? I'm not really sure how to go about it. I think I read somewhere that you should try to bd 48hrs after pos opk. Does that sound right? I know it varies for everyone. I just think I might as well give it a go because the first attempts would have either been wasted or beginning of pg anyway, so if I'm not pg it will just be another chance for us. I so want to get pg this cycle!!!
PeonyPrincess
April 11th, 2012, 05:21 AM
Lala, I got pg with a 3 day cut off, which is what yours might end up being! The O+12 is definitely hard to pinpoint. When I tried it last year I only got BFNs, so don't think there is much point in me giving advice on the matter!

Ya I think you are like 7 days past. They are basing that on your +opk's too. The same thing happens to me every month. I get my +opk on low temp day and then its hard to know when you are really o-ing. My guess is that you o'ed the evening of cd14. Maybe a bit earlier. A lot of people take a few days for their temps to go up -- I am one of those people. It looks like that is what happened. I don't agree with ff -- I agree with you. You are most likely 7dpo.

I shared this in the Swayers over 35 group and I thought I would share it here just in case anyone is feeling that they are too old to get pregnant again.
I mentioned to my OB nurse that I thought I was getting too old to get pregnant, pushing 40 and all and she looked at me and said, "oh, no you are not, we have a lady pregnant that is 49....49"! I about fell out of the blood stick chair! So this being said, we can do this again!

I looking for a really high number on my progesterone that might suggest pregnancy and also see what effect me taking my clomid on days 3-7 instead of 5-9. My last two clomid cycles on days 5-9 were, 38 and 28, so the higher the better.

Thanks Hope! I think I may as well give O+ a try, I've got nothing to lose. Hopefully I'm pregnant from the cut-off but if not it just gives me an extra shot at this cycle. We will bd tonight. Good to hear from you Pinkin! Glad you are still around. How are you feeling? You're good at pinpointing when you O, I really can't tell. I've noticed today that my cm has turned creamy so think I will bd tonight, I think by the morning it will be too late. Does anyone know if you can use Rephresh between attempts? I don't want to kill any sperm waiting up there for the egg, but wouldn't mind using a fingertip or so some hours before dtd. Think I will look through the threads to see if this is ok.
Youre probably right Amari, but I just can't shake this negative feeling about this cycle. I am more than happy to be proved wrong however ;)

Lala I used a finger of Rephresh about 24 hrs before.. I did try for O+12 the month before but got a bfn, the only thing i did dif that time was used Rephresh 12 hrs before i used a bit more then a finger but not much so mayby it was used to close to my attempt but who knows! I have been watching my o signs for over a year now and my sister actually gets the exact same symptoms and pain as me.. My cm had changed but as i said my cervix was still sort of high so i may of done O+9 I just dont know for sure.
