HT with pre e history
My pregnancy with my son was complicated by severe pre e. He was born at 33 weeks with IUGR (3 lbs) and sadly passed away at 5 days old due to a possible infection or maybe a brain bleed. I've had two daughters since completely normal pregnancies.
Since I've had three c/s we're considering HT for another DS.
I've read that IVF can increase pre e risk- Is this true? Would this still be an option for me?

Blaire, I read your story on a different thread and wanted to chime in on this one - one of the highest risk factors for pre-e is being on your first pregnancy. It is very common to have it with your first pregnancy and then never again. Since a lot of women are doing IVF for their first pregnancy or because of age or other health issues, it is very likely that this is a correlation and not a cause.
The original study that claimed to find a link between IVF and pre-e was not a great study (it was reported in the media when it had not even been published!!!) and has been subsequently debunked when researchers took age and number of prev. pregnancies into account.
