Question for Dr Potter
Hi Dr Potter,
I am planning to go through IVF/PGD in Jan 2018. When do you recommend I should have a consult with you? Is early 2017 too early? I am from Ontario Canada and GS is illegal. Have you worked with fertility clinics for external monitoring in the Toronto area? I am trying to be as best prepared as I can for Jan 2018. Also, my biggest question is does having one ovary affect my chance of success in any way during this process?
Thank you!!

Hello Anne,
Yes we have worked with many patients who do their pretesting/monitoring in the Toronto area, this will not be an issue. Having one ovary will have some impact because we will not be able to get as many eggs as we would with 2 ovaries, but we will be able to get eggs regardless. I would need to look over your ovarian reserve testing to get a better idea for your case specifically, which we will do at the initial consult. Early 2017 would be a bit early for the consult, we like to have your pretesting completed first so that I can accurately discuss your case and be able to discuss our plan. We would like the results to be within 6 months so we can have the most up to date results and plan accordingly. I look forward to speaking with you and helping you grow your family.
Best,
Dr. P

Thank you Dr Potter for your response. One last question. Who do I connect with for pre-testing requirements?
Thank you.
