You cannot tell your baby's gender from the darkness of pregnancy tests, there is just too much variation in the way they work.
I think they are of a fine darkness for that gestation. You do not need to see progression by the day to "prove" your pregnancy is working out. While of course you never want to see a very dark test go to barely non-existent, it's normal for tests to dance back and forth between a little darker and a little lighter at this stage of gestation.!!!
