How'd you choose you childrens names?

Dh and I chose names for our boys that were short to go with our long last names. No first that starts or ends with the same letter our last name begins with. Hubby already has a boy name picked out for the third that we'll be tic, but I won't even allow myself to consider girl names, since I'm so fearful I won't ever have a daughter.

I made up the list of names for our first, and put the ones I especially liked at the top. We found out at u/s that it was a girl, and I had ALWAYS loved this one name (which coincidentally is very popular now, but it wasn't 20 years ago when I fell in love with it!). I had to convince DH how much he liked it too (lol), and in the end he "thinks" he chose the name Exact same scenario for DS, although I'd never had a name I really like all through childhood for a boy.
