Hi Burakoam and no unfortunately none of us hsve heard from Maximbella She doesn't do social media either or st least facebook so none of us have heard from her on there either... Her last posts were sounding very positive though and it looked like she'd embraced the idea of having a boy and was quite excited.
On this subject I've been meaning to ask if you're in touch with baby2016? She was going through pretty severe gd last I remember. I hope she is doing well...

Max, thinking of you..our due dates were so close! Is your little man here?
For those not on FB, our little Sofia was born on Saturday 24/3 ...a healthy little bundle of 3.206kg (just over 7p I think?) and 50 cm. We went home the same day after a very quick labour her big sisters and parents are smitten, of course

Sorry I've been MIA. When DS was 7 days old on the 20th of December, we rushed him back to the hospital. He wasn't feeding, very lethargic, temp of 38.3. I knew something was wrong.
He had lots of tests done and throughout that day showed he was getting worse - we had to approve a spinal lumbar puncture and he started antibiotics while they were awaiting results. He then had a few apnea episodes and stopped breathing in front of DH and I. He was put on hi-flo to remind him to breathe and obviously a feeding tube went in and we were told that we had maxed out the care at the private hospital (where he was born) and needed to go to the children's ICU at a bigger hospital.
He was transferred via specual neonatal ambulance and putnin the ICu where we were told to expect seizures as it looked like he had parechovirus (we had never heard of it!)
Luckily he never had any seizures and in 16 hours was back breastfeeding in the ICU. His temps never went over 38.5 thankfully but he got a terrible scarlet purple rash all over his body and he hated being touched.
Turns out he had parechovirus (just a very mild head cold for us but in babies under 4 weeks it can kill them). We never took him anywhere in the 3 days we were home so we suspect our DD who had a very very slightly runny nose (which she gets teething anyway!) gave it to him.
Unfortunately the virus was in his spinal fluid and he was diagnosed with viral meningitis. DH and I were wrecks notnknowing if at first he'd survive then if he would have brain damage or any other issues.
He spent 2 nights in the ICU and the doctors and nurses were so impressed how quickly he recovered and how the virus didn't affect him neurologicall with seizures etc. We then spent a further 2 nights on the children's ward and came home Xmas eve.
You wouldn't think to look at him now at 10 weeks old that he was so sick. He smiles (started at 5 and half weeks), turns his head, lifts it up really well during tummy time, gahs and coos, and has perfect hearing. Doctors have said he'll make q 100% recovery with no long term issues.
We are so thankful and I wouldn't wish what happened to us on anyone. Seeing your 7 day old baby not breathing and hooked up to multiple heart and oxygen monitors with tubes and cannulas everywhere was the worst thing I've ever seen. I refused to take any photos of him in there because I never wanted to see those images ever again.
Oh my god Dancing. That’s so so scary. Thank god the little champ is thriving now. It must have been so so scary. Share a recent picture of him when you can. Lots of love and blessings to the little boy.
