Ladies I'm just wondering - are your babies active? I started feeling movement about a week ago and one, if not both, of my little ones is super active. My three sons were all quite active on the inside - and I felt movement around this time with #2 & #3, possibly slightly earlier even. It just has me thinking I must surely be having twin boys. Obviously once they are both ok that's the main thing but I can't help but think both are boys. I got a gut feeling at the scan that at least one was a boy. I was hoping and hoping the second one would be a girl but the more active they get the more they remind me of my three boys.
Has anyone had active siblings that ended up being opposite genders? Grasping at straws here I think. I probably won't find out their gender tomorrow. It's not usually offered til after at least 18 weeks.

I feel I could almost guarantee my DD was more active then all your boys combined. I had an anterior placenta with her and was a FTM and felt her around 13/14 weeks and then never stopped. For my last 2 months of pregnancy we did NSTs as my midwives are very cautious and we were playing it safe since women without thyroids have much higher rates of stillbirths. They used to take ages because we could never get a resting heart rate for DD easily. She never stopped moving. I used to laugh whenever I was asked about kick counts. During pushing at labor, I thought nothing was happening (when it was) because she was still kicking literally the entire time.
And my cherry on top of evidence: babies often are blue or purple at birth because the oxygen level in utero is equivalent to that on Mt. Everest -- babies don't need high levels yet obviously, but gives that hypothermic look. This is also as I've learned because of how much sleep they get in utero since O2 levels also lower when everyone sleeps.
DD didn't even come out pink. She came out completely normal flesh color, not even any vernix. All the nurses commented on it. I swear it's because she never slept ever lol.
So if I cannot stress enough how activity =/= gender haha...
This one is active but definitely not as active as DD. I felt them early too, but feel movement at the "normal times" I've always read about, like morning and evening and when I myself am less active. Movements feel different too -- DD was big on headbutting and punching my cervix for months, and this one seems to be more full body changes (which makes me nervous for baby positioning!) and that creepy crawly hand scratching haha.

It's hard for me to tell how active my two are because both of them have anterior placentas (so placentas are in front of my uterus) and so far they are still cushioning/blocking a lot of the movement. But with every scan I've had I'm told both of them are moving a lot and then the last scan I had last week little girl was SUPER active - it seemed like she was moving a lot more than her brother. And she is currently breech and the closest one to my cervix so lately I'm feeling her feet kick me in the cervix/vagina A LOT! Getting a little annoying, haha! (although I'm thankful to FINALLY be feeling more movement - anterior placentas are so stupid!!) I would not worry at all about gender & amount of movement... I don't think there is a correlation there By this point I think most babies are pretty active and it may just be that you are able to feel movement more than other mamas. For example I have always had a little more "padding" around my stomach which probably means I feel less and as I recall you are pretty thin naturally so probably why you've always felt a lot of movement!!
And remember the most common fraternal twin pair is boy/girl! And there's like a 25% chance you have two girls in there!! Hoping babies will be able to give you at least a hint of what they are tomorrow!!
And to answer your other question about whether I have had to have more appointments... no, not really. My doctor has been having me come in about every 3-4 weeks, which is pretty typical in the US for a singleton (here it's usually every 4 weeks until 3rd trimester, then every 2 weeks, and then once a week during the last few weeks). I see him again next week when I'll be 25 weeks and I don't know if he'll start increasing the frequency of appointments then or not. I did see a high risk doctor for my anatomy scan - my doctor didn't make me do this but he said he does like for twin mamas to have at least once consultation with a high risk doc during the pregnancy. They may be wanting to have you in to see if they can better determine/confirm what type of twins you are having. Certain types of twins are more "high risk" than others. Identical twins are higher risk than fraternal, and if they are identical and share a sac or a placenta (or both I think?), they'll be higher risk as well. So maybe they just want to see if they can get more info. Sounds like they already think yours may be fraternal though. You may also want to ask if they'll be monitoring the length of your cervix, since you're at higher risk of preterm labor with twins. They've been checking mine every 4 weeks or so. They can measure it by ultrasound.

Had another growth scan yesterday (28 weeks), my little girl is still all girl (yes had to check!) and still small (13%percentile still) but growing and is feisty! She kicked her way through most of the scan and had the tech laughing as she kept trying to kick the probe away. Keep growing my little one.

TP I'm literally rolling around laughing here. The "creepy crawly hand scratching" I had forgotten ALL about that!! I freaking hate it lol!!
Your DD and my DS1 sound like they were similar especially in labor! His head was already out and he was still kicking me I used to be crying at times cause he just didn't cut me any slack at all. And at almost 7 he hasn't changed. Oh, I remember he used to get the hiccups ALL the time and they'd drive me mad cause he could have them for days and days. He was head firmly down so I'd just feel this constant bump bump bump around my underwear line lol! He still gets them ALL the time and they drive him mad lol!
You've made me think maybe, just maybe I'm in with a shot with one of them! I know I've claimed to be Zen with the whole thing of only having one gender but jeez if I have to listen to everyone "FIVE BOYS" I think I'll scream! Other's opinions matter little to me on a day to day basis but when you already have GD it can just cut a little deeper as I'm sure all you ladies know xx

Oh you're giving me that pesky hope ABC hearing your little girl was more active than your little boy!! I just want one of them to be that illusive girl. It would be even more surreal than the last ultrasound if I saw girl parts tomorrow! I just don't think I can even really and truly see myself with a girl. I want one so badly but I suppose after 3 boys I automatically just think the babies are boys cause I'm conditioned for making them.
Tho you're right. I have a decent enough chance that ONE is female!
Hmm, I had that early scan at 6 weeks where only one baby was seen. Then nothing till 15 weeks and due back at 19 weeks but then this weird appointment came in the post for this week. You're probably right tho, it's probably to see a specialist. I rang the office of whoever issued the appointment and there was nothing on my notes other than "Twins" so maybe it's just like confirmation or whatever. I'll take it. I'm excited about seeing them and making it more real. I think I'll relax a LITTLE bit more after I see them again.
Oh and yes, I'll definitely mention it about my cervix tomorrow. I had a procedure which shortened it back in 2009 due to cervical changes so it's always been something I've been anxious about in pregnancy but I think with two in there my anxiety is definitely justified this time!!

Oh yea if you have had cervix issues in the past I would definitely get them to monitor it for you!! If it started to get too short or started to open they might want to put a cerclage in but that's why it's important to keep an eye on it especially with twins! But you've had 3 pregnancies already so it's also quite possible it wont cause you any issues.
And FWIW with the movement and gender today I'm feeling baby girl a TON and not baby boy at all so now I'm freaking out wondering if baby boy is ok! There is always something to worry and stress about with pregnancy!
Let us know how your appt goes!!

There really is always something isn't there! You'd swear I was new at this pregnancy malarkey, I've gotten very precious with this pregnancy since the news of the twins was broken to us!! My DH says I'd probably do better not knowing there's two in there lol!
I will definitely let you ladies know how tomorrow goes. Nervous excitement here! One sleep
