HRC choice of doctor
Hi
I reached out to HRC this week to get some finance information and I was offered a free phone consult with Dr Jane Frederick, to be taken before pre-testing.
Based on information I read here, I had planned to arrange pre-testing in late-summer here in London, ahead of a free 'Gender Dreaming free consult' with Dr Potter in the autumn and maybe a Dec/Jan visit to California.
If I took a free phone consult with Dr Frederick this spring, does anyone know if I would then be committed to her rather than Dr Potter? I did some reading and she seems to be an incredible doctor, really excellent, but Dr Potter always seems to be the dream goal on here, so if we're going to pay all this money, perhaps I should specifically ask to be seen by him.
What do you think? Dr Frederick is based as Laguna Hills I think - does anyone know which office Dr Potter works out of? Is it the same building?
I would hate to be rude in taking a phone call with Dr Frederick and then demanding Dr Potter afterwards. Also, I don't really feel in a rush for a consult now as we're not aiming to to to California until the end of the year/early 2018. But if it doesn't cost anything and it doesn't limit us in any way, do you think I should?
Also - on another note, I see HRC do a veterans/military discount. Very often in America my husband's veteran status from the British RAF is honoured for various discounts in different places...even though we are English! Do you think we might be considered for this, or is it only for infertility and not family balancing? He served for 7 years
If anyone has the time to read or inclination to respond, it's much appreciated

I would imagine that once you saw 1 dr you were kinda set to go with them - I said I wanted to see dr p for a girl and I came from GD straight off the bat (they honoured my discount) but the safest way to guarantee this is to go via this site. I would respond and say thank you BUT.....
The Americans do take being a military veteran v seriously and may well give you a discount (I seem to recall a Canadian lady using military discount... I think??) BUT it will be either or for the discounts - you won't be able to use both together, if they let you have a military discount.
Good luck! X2 beautiful blue eyed boys who both own my(3 if you count DH!)

Thanks Kitty - I've just done that, I'd rather wait a bit and the approach Dr P through the consult link form on here. I appreciate the advice
I'm now half way through reading your story... literally on the edge of my seat. Pausing to make the kids lunch and will continue later when they're watching a movie or something... it's so lovely that so many women have taken the time out to share these experiences online xThree boys and dreaming of California HT for twin girls

I read on the HRC website that they do a 40% discount for active military and veterans, however it's only for U.S. military. Maybe they could still offer you some sort of discount?
My husband is a US military veteran and I'm wondering if you have to have proof of infertility for the discount? Or can a person qualify if they're doing IVF only for gender selection?'12

Hi. I know this post is from a while ago however just thought I would still chime in with an option. HRC has many locations across the USA with plenty of excellent physicians however we went through Dr Kolb who is the medical Director at HRC Pasadena. I am from Australia and he has become very popular choice. Their is a company called Kolb Fertility Australia who partner with Dr Kolb and act as a free local support and network for mainly Australians and sometimes local US residents. His 1st cycle success rates are amongst the top 5% across the USA (which is one of the reasons we chose him) and he specialises in IVF and gender selection. We would highly recommend Dr Kolb for anyone who is looking to do IVF or gender selection.
