Statistics
I find this statistic super interesting, although it gives miserable 46% chances for a after 2 girls lol! The Odds of Having Another Boy or Girl
I know most of the moms here are on the right side of the Gauss' Curve, proving that statistics is just a statistics.
Now I was thinking: I have 2 girls, but I've had m/c at 11 weeks before DD1. Those babies (twins) had a gender, no matter how probably they were genetically damaged since it ended in m/c. It was an oops pregnancy, so probably girls? Plus I'm designed to create girls.
So statistically I have 52.7% chances for a woo-hoo!!! I pray idiotic tech was wrong at 15 weeks scanm/c 2001

ZB, I like this study better than the Ingender link you posted in your initial post because it looked at a MUCH larger data set. It looked at Danish families from 1960-1994, over 1.4 million kids born to 700,000 families. It was really looking at the fact that the male/female birth ratio has declined as overall family size has declined, but look at Table 2 on page 960 (going by # in the upper left of the page) to see the % male births given the previous births to the family. Even after 3 girls, families were still more likely to have a boy next. And even after 2 girls it was still 50.3% male births for #3 ... after 3 girls, 51.1% of the 4th children were male.

Really though, studies are just that, a look at what happened to someone else in the past ... who knows what's in store for us in our future. I just like these stats more to show that NO, it isn't 80% that you'll keep having the same gender, no matter what the old lady in the grocery store line says! Whether it is 3 boys or 3 girls or what have you, the odds are always SO CLOSE to 50/50 that you've always got a shot. Just a matter of how many shots you want to take, and how many shots it takes you to hit the target you desire

Exactly B, I totally agree! When even people's DOCTORS and geneticists are spreading bullsh-- nonsense like, "your odds of having another child of the same gender only increase over time" which is completely untrue and unsupported by any facts whatsoever, it's nice to have the studies to look at and reassure ourselves that no, it is totally possible to have an opposite even after 3,4,5 of the same gender in a row!
