    Timing for DG

    Ladies,
I know timing alone does not matter, but, I am still so confused. O+12 seems a little sketchy to me, like not a real study, but obviously shettles has been debunked as well.
I got my boys bding on o day...anyone have any anecdotal advice on what to do for a girl?
you can have all of my blue dust!

I got all my babies (2 boys and a 1 girl coming) from BD'ing on O day. Before I learned about swaying, I had only heard of Shettles and was hell bent that I was never going to BD on O day again because I thought then that I would *never* get my girl if I did that!

Since coming onto this site, and reading numerous studies (there are some studies that conclude that there is a slight increase from 50-50 Girl / Boy ratio favoring Girls resulting from BD'ing on O day.) So I believe no timing is fool proof, because there are many women on here who have "Shettles opposites" where they had a 2-3 day cutoff and still got a boy.

I believe in diet in the regards of how it changes your body chemistry, altering how your body behaves, and how it interplays with hormones, etc etc. So in my opinion, I don't think timing matters that much, but more of what kind of condition your body is in when you concieve.

Also, don't do the diet so harshly that you really hurt your own body either. Because of my blood sugar issues, I could not skip breakfast so I chose soemthing senisble that wasn't oatmeal (oatmeal has something in it that turns into testerortone and there was study that women who ate fortified breakfast cereals, inc. oatmeal would supposedly have a boy 65% of the time.)

So my bottom line is read and read about swaying. Figure out what works for you, plan it out and make it your own. That is what I did, and i am being blessed with my desired gender, but I still think a great part of it is sheer luck too. Because I've seen so many way more awesome sways than mine (mine was pretty casual based on my cirumstances) that resulted in opposites, so I'd also consider that swaying, whille very helpful at possibly getting your desired gender, is by no means a guarnatee of that gender.

I got 3 of 4 boys with at least 2-3 day cutoff (I don't know with my last boy) and then my DD BD the day before O (confirmed by ultrasound). My general advice is for most people to BD on the day of a positive OPK, because it's the least stressful option and yields good odds of pregnancy.

O+12 IS sketchy and I don't advise anyone try it because it will keep you from getting pregnant.

thank you both for input. i actually decided I would not have another baby unless I was totally ok with having a third boy, which I totally am. I am actually expecting to have another boy, and if i get a girl, then that would be great too. I don't want anything to crimp on my pregnancy happiness.
btw, oatmeal sways boy, who knew!!!
