Serrapeptase, Nattokinase, Enzymes, Anti-Coagulants?
Hello all, I have questions around the use of enzyme therapy (specifically serrapeptase and nattokinase - which are enzymes like the way probiotics are enzymes for gut health). I take probiotics everyday anyway, it helps with my digestion overall.
I initially came across the use of serrapeptase and nattokinase as possible supplements to heal after a D&E to avoid Asherman's (scarring of the uterus) from forming. There are some studies, and a lot of internet-talk (not very scientific) that such enzymes can prevent scar tissue from forming, because of the anti-coagulant properties. My GP did some research through pub med and said that taking such supps will likely cause no harm, but mostly because doctors generally don't take supps as being too effective. I asked about the risk of the anti-coagulant properties and they said it's fine.
Anyone have any experience taking any of these enzymes?
Or whether anti-coagulants can sway either way, or cause fertilities issues (or help fertility)?

In 10 years and tens of thousands of swayers on two different sites I have never seen a single case of Asherman's even in people with numerous c-sections and d and c/d and e procedures, so please do not start taking steps to prevent something that is unlikely to occur.
I cannot recommend you take these supplements. We don't know how they sway, for starters, we don't know that they are safe, but most importantly your doctor is incorrect about anti-coagulants not causing harm. Doctors know many things I don't but this is one issue I am better informed about than doctors are. People are causing themselves harm taking even relatively mild blood thinners like bromelain and aspirin and garlic. One woman ended up with heavy bleeding eating a cup of walnuts every day! I cannot ever sign off on a blood thinner for ANY person who has just had a loss. You need to get out of your body's way right now and allow it to heal. You do not want to start ingesting things that will make you bleed more easily for no reason (fish oil is an exception since it may be beneficial otherwise but let's hold off starting that for a couple weeks anyway). You very well may end up with extremely heavy bleeding (even if you have stopped bleeding already, it can flare up again) and that is going to make it take LONGER for you to conceive. Taking blood thinners when you don't need them may actually increase your risk of miscarriage in the future https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...how/225031.cms since your body does not like our blood to flow too freely when a baby is trying to implant. It can cause subchorionic hemorrhage and chemical pregnancies because the baby is meant to burrow into the uterine lining and then the bleeding, if any, is meant to stop. Your body needs to be able to stop bleeding after implantation.
There is a small subset of people who have blood that clots too easily and they are helped by blood thinners. The rest of us have disastrous results with blood thinners (young women have been KILLED by taking blood thinners without need because most of our blood clots very easily already. Not only can they cause pregnancy loss, but they can cause bleeding in the brain and stomach and if you were to have an accident or require emergency surgery - even invasive dental work like having a tooth pulled you can end up bleeding heavily) Science has determined that women under 65 should not be on daily blood thinners as the risks outweigh any benefits. https://www.livescience.com/49015-wo...-benefits.html

Ok got it, just not worth the risk! And thanks for the data on Ashermans not appearing much. It helps me ease my mind.

There are articles online that have crazy high numbers on it but it is not something I have ever seen! I think those numbers are crazily misleading! I know women who have had 6 c-sections (I do not recommend this) and 3 D and C in a row for retained tissues who didn't have it!
So happy for you Treens, congratulations Sent from my SM-A225F using Tapatalk
