where is this 30 g protein BS coming from??
ok people keep coming to me and swearing that the protein limits in the LE Diet is 30 g minimum. But it is NOT, the minimum is 40 g. It's my diet, I developed it myself, and I don't think I have ever written 30 g anywhere, in fact the 40-50 g protein minimum was one of the first things I ever came up with back when I had a blog on IG. So if anyone knows where this is coming from, I would really like to know so I can rectify it.
30 g protein is not a safe amount and no one should be eating that little.
LE Diet totals:
for regular people:
1500-1800 cals
40-50 g protein
20-30% days' cals from fat (this comes out to about 25-60 g of fat a day)
2500-3500 mg potassium (this is minimum, you can go over it)
700-1000 mg sodium, if you are wanting to limit sodium, which you don't need to do
for PCOS:
1500-1800 cals
50-60 g protein
more like 30% day's cals from fat (so you will get more % cals from protein and fat, less from carbs)
2500-3500 mg potassium (minimum, you can go over it)
700-1000 mg sodium, if you are wanting to limit sodium, which you don't need to do
Low carb vegetables are free meaning you do not count ANYTHING in them
high carb veg and fruit - count only cals
high protein veg (beans and peas) count only cals and protein!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

haha yes I did LOL too!...
I def. remember the 40g being the min. on protein though...
I do remember on my first few wks of the diet (when I used to count absolutely everything on a daily spreadsheet, that didn't last long ha!) panicking as I was only at about 37g protein for one day, so made DH give me a bite of his chicken to make sure I was ok on my daily limits LOL. So yes I def. remember reading the 40g as the min, I usually try and stay between 40-45ish.

NO, you must not eat 30 g protein. Your eating 40 g of protein vs. 30 was NOT the reason you got boys. 40 g of protein is the barest minimum for your body to stay fertile - when you see a lower number than that, such as from the World Health Organization, it is the absolute lowest number that they use for famine victims - not the amount that a person should be eating before pregnancy. 30 g protein is basically starvation.

I'm going to let you guys in on a little secret, I don't CARE if someone's sway is slightly less effective. It is irrelevant to me if your sway is 71% likely to succeed vs. 70% (which it isn't, just pulling numbers out of thin air here for illustrative purposes) because if the risk of miscarriage and stopping ovulation skyrockets, then more people will get their desired gender eating more protein ANYWAY.
If only 10 people out of 100 are able to get successfully pregnant eating 30 g protein a day, and of those, 71% has girls, that's 7 of 10 girls or 71 out of 100. In the meantime 90% of those people have either stopped ovulation and had to relax on diet anyway (possibly raising their odds of blue) and/or had miscarraiges - a diet designed to cause miscarriages of the "undesirable" gender is unacceptable to my personal morality.
If 100 of 100 people are able to get successfully pregnant eating 40-50 g protein and of that group 70% had girls, that's STILL about 7 out of 10 girls and it's a HECK of a lot more girls than the first group had. Even if you could get girls 9 out of 10 times on 30 g of protein and only 60% get girls on 50 g, 90% of 10 people is 9 people and 60% of 100 people is 60. That means 51 more people will get daughters eating more protein.
Again, I am just making those numbers up to illustrate the greater point - if you cannot get pg and sustain a healthy pregnancy, swaying is WORTHLESS. My goal is a safe and healthy sway that works well for most people, most of the time.!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Whoa! I've been going by what you told me 40g min pro!
Once in a while early on I was like 36 or something but since I'm deffinatly at least hitting 41-46! The one day it was like 51 so the next I dialed it back a bit to 41. I think it works like that. I NEVER read 30g anywhere! Besides since I have personalized plan I try to pay Close attention to what YOU, Atomic tell me not other stuff I may have glanced at.Last edited by Alicewonder; October 1st, 2013 at 03:54 PM.

I have only ever seen 40-50g being recommended. Personally I will be very happy to get to 50g protein and some days may be close to 60g. Not sure how achievable 40g will be. At the moment I am eating something like 80-100g (havent started swaying yet) so 50-60g will be a step in the right direction. I have been looking at things I regularly eat or could possibly eat and its a bit dismaying how much protein is in everything. If you get something with lower protein it has high fat and vice versa! Look forward to starting the diet, not
Atomic thank you so much for your continued reminders and caring about us all. It is greatly appreciated. Your humour is great too.
