A week in New York- Where & what to eat?
Hi all.
Need a bit of advise please. I am from Uk and am going to New York at the end of October. I'm on the LE alternative diets (combination of PCOS and Alternative diet) so no white refined empty carbs. Mostly carbs via wholegrain. I am also vegetarian.
Could anyone that's been to NY or lives in America recomend any places where I could eat out & shop etc. I have been on the diet for almost 12wks and I really want to try and stick to it while I'm in America. Any advise wld be greatly appricated!
Thank you, Shree xx

I think there are tons of options available! bEst food in the world and I'm sure there are tons of vegetarian options.
I think you should allow yourself to cheat a bit on diet while there. (bagel would be my suggestion!! something special about NYC bagels_)!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thank you! I may cheat alittle but want to try and keep up with the diet. I've lost a stone in 10 wks and I know I'll put on the pounds if I cheat too much. I will try and do a bit of research for some vegetarian restaurants. At least I'll be able to get hold of certain foods on the LE list list more easily . Hopefully I'll try and keep it up.
thank you xx

Good thing you'll be in NY. You'll have endless options. Wait...that could be a bad thing too I wouldn't worry too much and just enjoy

There are some awesome organic, vegan, even raw restaurants in NYC that are very LE friendly. I recommend using yelp.com to find restaurants, NY's yelp is pretty amazing. Bagels are pink friendly, and light or even fat free cream cheese is available most places. There is great pizza in NY for all tastes, I recommend Artichoke (pizza place in Manhattan), and a slice or two can be fit into the LE easily.
There are definitely low fat/low cal eateries in NY, I just never went to them as my pre-sway diet was super high fat! Many places have salad bars (Whole Foods is great), but keep portions snall as you can overeat easily at a salad bar IME.
