how many successful sways in a row are possible?

I hope my question makes sense. If someone sways after having multiple boys or girls 3+ and sways and succeeds to have the gender they were swaying for, than went on to have a second successful sway of that same gender, but miscarries how likely is it to get 3 in a row of the opposite gender you originally had? Or is all hope lost to get that dream of a second desire gender without having to have a few more of the gender you already had multiple of? On ingender on the statistics only 12% have 3 of the same gender in a row. I hope I am making sense. Having a down time. Sorry.

I think if you just sway you still have a high chance. Why else would there be so many with 3 of the same gender (or more)
I have 3 sons without swaying. I think i could have had more daughters if I knew about (propper) swaying.

I don't think it's terribly unlikely. I've seen families with a run of one gender, followed by a run of the opposite gender (remember the Duggars and their bunch of boys followed by their bunch of girls?). So even without swaying, it's entirely possible to have multiple children of the same gender in a row followed by the opposites in a row. When you add swaying, you are only trying to boost the likelihood of having your desired gender. Doesn't mean it WILL be successful, I'd try for the strongest sway you can manage, but doesn't mean you won't get a third DG in a row. I certainly wouldn't feel discouraged simply because you did get two DG in a row and feel downhearted thinking you are "due" for an opposite.

-Our rainbow little man (K: 2011)
-Our sway and pray little diva (J: 2013)
-Our lucky charm guy (S: 2015)
We may be done, we may come back for one more sway. Time will tell. At the moment, we are very content with our family!

Mommymachine has 3 boys followed by 2 girls (she swayed for them both, I believe), and is now swaying for a 3rd girl.

    My Ovulation Chart
currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!

Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic

Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

I did sway for both girls but I am not sure if you could technically say they were "in a row" since I had 2 MCs in between them of unknown gender.

Statistics don't work that way. You aren't "due" for an opposite just because you've had 2 of one gender in a row.Your body doesn't remember what gender the last baby was and think "let's switch it up this time". In fact I would say if your lifestyle/sway was very similar for 3 babies in a row, it is very likely you would have 3 of the same gender in a row.

    I agree with bluebonnet.

No one can answer that question, we just don't have that level of data available to us.

I have seen at least a dozen people have successful back to back sways and TONS of us on here have 3,4,5 or more of the same gender.

If you look at Michelle Duggar, she had a long run of all boys and then went on to have a long run of all girls (without swaying eiterh BTW) both of which longer than most of us even HAVE kids!!

I had 4 boys over 20 years with a 13 year gap between the first two and the second two. My lifestyle and diet were similar.

Definitely not with the first MC as I was TTA, but I think I was just starting to sway with the second MC.
