    Delayed ovulation and egg quality?

I'm curious if anyone has had delayed ovulation and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I typically O sometime between CD17-25; however, this month due to stress, I'm on CD34 and still no O, so around 2 weeks later than usual for me! I think that my body geared up to O several times, but just didn't do it. It looks like I'm getting close (fingers crossed....having ewcm, temp going up, cp is high/open/soft). I just googled delayed ovulation and seeing stories of m/c and poor egg quality due to delayed O or body gearing up/stopping scares me, but I'm trying to sort Google fiction from fact. I'm curious if anyone has thoughts/experience with this?

    Delayed ovulation and egg quality?

Me! I think there might be some truth to it, but I'm sure there are exceptions. I had delayed ovulation- severe- since giving birth to my DS3. I just got my BFP last month! I still ovulated later than normal, but I didn't start to ovulate and then ovulate later like I had in previous cycles. It will happen for you! Keep trying! I also found out I was really deficient in Vitamin D, and that can cause delayed ovulation and poor egg quality. Good news it can be reversed by supplementation. Maybe have your GP test you for that?

    FX so hard for you!

I would call it more "lateish" ovulation. Once I started supplementing with Vitamin D to raise my levels, my cycle resumed its shorter length with early ovulation for 3 cycles. Then my BFP cycle, I ovulated later for some reason. All of my boys were conceived from O on CD5-9. This baby was conceived from O on either CD14-15. Normal for some, but not my normal! Prior to supplementing with Vitamin D, I had O from CD21-56!

Yes. I didn't O for months before I conceived DS 4. (I was breastfeeding and doing LE Diet)

The idea that delayed O could make for an unhealthy egg is in people who go months/years without ovulating. Not have a brief delay of 1-2 weeks. And even then it's not at all proven because the reason why most people go months without ovulating is because of moderate to severe PCOS, which is also linked to poor egg quality. I personally have looked over the data and I don't believe it's the case and we have all heard of those cases where women practically NEVER O on their own and end up pregnant and don't realize it because they don't ahve cycles normally.

2 weeks is NOTHING. People on here have healthy babies with 2 week delayed O all the time.

My second son was conceived in a cycle with delayed O. My body tried to ovulate but I was relapsing with ED, and finally ovulated weeks later.

Thanks Greydore, so reassuring to see that there are others out there with success stories.
