    Blue Swaying Tactics

    How important is weight lifting? I can't take my kids to the gym, but I try to do "airplanes" with my kids, up and down at least 5 days of the week. I use my 30 pound kid to work my arms and my 45 pound kid to work my legs. (That might sound terrible, but they love it!) We usually just do 4 sets of 10 for each kiddo, so not very much at all..

    Also, how important is it for DH to quit smoking? In one post I have read that it's believed the mother's health is what really matters, but today I came across a post that pretty much said DH quitting is the most important thing... It kind of squashed my hopes because I felt like I had such a great sway going and now it may not even make adifference. Smoking is the one thing my DH refuses to stop. He smokes a pack a day. When we conceived our daughters he was big on Marijuana (sorry, I realize that's frowned apon--I hated that he did it!) And he has since been clean for about 18 months. He started taking fish oil, a multivitamin, vitamin e and vitamin b12 about 6 weeks ago. That helps our sway, right??

    I'm really confused. I was just trying to find out if I'm doing enough "weight lifting" wise by trying to incorporate it into play time with my children, and if my entire sway is going to be affected negatively by my DH smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. No, I cannot change what he did in the past, all i could do was give him the ultimatum to quit, and he did. My purpose of even mentioning that was to see if the changes he has made are enough to give us a fair chance at the baby boy we so desire. I didn't realize that was going to offend anyone or cause my family to be judged.

    I do think it's important or I wouldn't recommend it but all you can do is what you can do. That little bit of exercise may make all the difference in the world and keep going with that.

    I have lifted weights most of my childbearing years, except with my first baby and my last baby and I got 3 boys, zero girls while doing that. Now there are plenty of people who don't lift weights and get boys, and some who do and get girls, but the evidence seems to indicate that it does help.

    Smoking - If he won't quit, there is not much you can do about that. Clearly you are still going to be better off swaying than not swaying, but it is something I have seen come up a lot, both with a very disproportionate number of my blue swayers having husbands that smoke to start out with, and additionally in the men who can't/won't stop smoking, higher % of opposites. But we have some pink swayers whose husbands smoke and they got boys that way and some people whose husbands didn't stop smoking and they swayed and got boys anyway.

    Okay. I will continue to incorporate as much "lifting" as possible and try not to think about DH smoking, since there's not really anything I can do. Thank you.

    I don't know why you're confused, is it because I see I accidentally hit the dislike button? That was entirely accidental. I answer dozens of posts a day and do my best but sometimes a small accident like that will occur and I don't even realize it. I NEVER use the dislike button intentionally.

    My apologies, Atomic. At the time that I got on to check for any responses, I did see that the dislike was clicked and you had not responded (I guess just by coincidence I checked it while you were still typing, before you had posted) and I thought that was because I had said dh was smoking Marijuana at the time our daughters were conceived. Which in no way was I saying that was a magic trick to getting our girls or something, that never crossed my mind that it might sound that way. I was just hoping that by him making such a big change that would also benefit our blue sway.
    I'm sorry, really I am. My anxiety has been through the roof lately.
    Thank you for all you do! When I get this little boy it will be all thanks to you.

    After talking to you about the importance of weight lifting, I decided I would make it happen one way or another. I went outside and borrowed two bricks from my flower beds and got a full 40 minutes in today!! Who needs weights when you got babies and bricks, right? Desperate times call for desperate measures!
