Question about Moon / Negative Ions - THANKS for your help!!!

I read about if you conceive during a new moon phase you're more likely to have a girl, and in a full moon phase you're more likely to have a boy.

This intrigues me becuase its accurate for both of my my boys, and my sisters two kids.

BUT, I was wondering who came up with this theory? DId someone just completely make it up? Do you know where this theory came from? Are there any studies or evidence to support it?

    THANKS for your help!!!

Yes, someone did just make it up BUT it does make some sense from an evolutionary perspective and there may be some scientific support for the idea.

Be sure to note that the new moon/full moon phase as defined on InGender is inaccurate and this has nothing to do with ions, it's the effect of the moonlight itself that potentially has an effect. (someone just made up the ions too - no reliable scientific evidence supports ions swaying gender in any way.)

I was always so worried that the moon has a huge affect on baby's gender. what are your thoughts on the moon sign, atomic? I heard from various ladies that moon sign is more important than the moon phase. when I looked back on when i conceived my boys, they were both conceived under 'male' signs. Also reading a post on seasons. I live in San DIego, CAlifornia. Is Novermber a good time try? my cycle has FINALLy lined up with new moon phase but the season is peak boy friendly. I don't know if I should even worry about that? THanks !!

The moon simply cannot be much of a factor because the reason gender swaying works, is that women who have ample access to nutrient-dense foods have more sons, due to the fact that boys need more calories thru their entire lives starting from conception onward, and in adulthood big, strong males have a huge reproductive advantage over small undernourished males. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...ypothesis.html It makes no sense for that to all fall by the wayside because the moon is fatter or thinner, and CERTAINLY not because of astrology which again, is just something that someone made up. (and I don't dismiss astrology having an effect on personality, because I think it ~might~, but I do totally dismiss it having an effect on gender because it does not make sense...just want everyone to know that I did not dismiss the idea out of hand as most scientists do.)

The variation by season is pretty minor but it's just something that may work for you wihtout even trying, but only for those of us who live in parts of the globe where there are distinct seasons. The closer you live to the equator, the more likely it is that you'll have girls regardless. For reasons we don't understand, more girls than boys are conceived in equatorial locations all over the world. AGain, not a huge difference. I would NEVER change or alter my plans in any way because of the seasons, but if I was planning on trying in January, I might move my sway to Feb or March.

I have 2 boys conceived in the "girl peak" months and DD was conceived in the boy peak as was I.

Here is the thread about the seasons and you can read a more thorough explanation here: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...s-swaying.html
