2-year old throws fit, family kicked off plane

Ever have one of these moments? I am a pretty strict mom, no nonsense but my now 9 year old threw a fit when she was 2 at a doctor's office and I swear she had been possessed. It was so embarrassing. I was so angry at her and mortified. The doctor had given her a penny to put into a machine as we were leaving to get a prize and the wrong one came out. She flipped her lid.

At least I was the one who drug her out of there though and we were not escorted out!

Wow, how awful - and a 2 year old is more likely to be throwing a tantrum after a tiring holiday and no doubt lots of waiting around in the airport! What was worse was the mention of the family of 6 being thrown off the plane for having too many children. We're going to have to buy a tent!!

Ugh, that will probably be me this summer! I am afraid my youngest will not want to be stuck in her seat when we travel.

This kinda makes me angry!! Its like they are siding against children? We were all children once deal with it ,i think its bit much to boot them off?Airlines should come up with a better way to deal with it,i mean why dont they have baby seats like you do in a car ,children hate being held down and made to sit its like a straight jacket.I dont know it just sounds wrong to me..

I agree, it's disgraceful. Even the best behaved and well disciplined children loose it every now and then. Sometimes the only thing you can do is wait it out. At what point did we COMPLETELY loose the principal of it taking a whole village to raise a child. Years ago everyone seated around them would have tried to support the parents. Sad days.

I have always taken a car seat with me when my kids are little so they don't mind being strapped in. This summer, DD2 will be 2 and old enough for her own seat, so I will bring the carseat for her. I hope she doesn't freak out... she is a big tantrum thrower!

Kids get so tired traveling. On our way home from Disney I was in the airport in the Starbucks line and my son lost it. Just like NBP said he looked possessed. All I remember was trying to hold him everything flying everywhere because my pocketbook spilled all over the place. There must have been moms in line because these nice ladies gathered up all my stuff got me napkins told me they would clean up the spilled coffe as I as almost in tears apologizing while trying my hardest not to scream at my son. It was awful. I am so grateful for those ladies who helped me and wish more people were like them. People without kids just don't understand at all. I have a friend who does not have kids and she always tries to tell me how I discipline my kids so they would never be terrible on a flight and no matter how many times I tell her the Disney meltdown story she just does not get it at all. We all work hard to keep our kids quiet sometimes they are just at their breaking point. I do not think any mom in the world wants their kids to throw a fit sometimes it just happens even to a pediatrician like in that article.
