New to the site
My name is Marcia, and I joined this group for support and to help others along their journey with my experiences as well. My husband and I will talk to the fertility specialist in March 2012 for IVF/PGD for a boy. We hope to be able to attempt the first IVF cycle in August 2012. I have have two daughters. My oldest daughter will be two in December and my youngest daughter is two months old. I love being a mommy. I am a stay at home mom for now. I am a veteran of the United States Air Force active duty and the Georgia Air National Gaurd. I just got out about two weeks ago after seven years of service.

Hi there and welcome! I did IVF/PGD for a boy at RBA in Alpharetta, GA. They are great and I would highly recommend them. Dr Straub is my RE. I live in GA too!
Good luck and thank you for your service!Mom to

Wow! My husband and I are going to work with RBA of Atlanta! Thanks for the recommending Dr. Straub. I will keep him in mind. I am glad that there is a Georgian apart of this group! May I ask you a couple of questions. What was IVF/PGD like? I could only imagine how and you family felt once you became pregnant.

It is harder emotionally than physically. The shots are intimidating but the build up is worse than the actual stick. The procedure itself is easy and quick. It's all the agonizing over the steps, the waiting and hoping that makes it difficult.
It is a surreal thing and as time passes, it is hard to fathom that I did it. It is out of character for us and an absolute extreme measure.
There are a couple others that have used them as well and one is currently cycling there now. The HT group posts in the HT forum if you wish to join up!
In the HT forum, we have Cycle Diaries where you can catch up with past cyclers, follow their journeys and read how their cycles went. It is a good place to learn about the process. It is elective IVF and it's not always easy even as a fertile woman. I hope you stick with us and we can follow your cycle one day.Mom to
