Want girls and twins still confused
A little about me, i have a 4 1/2 yr old daughter and 2 yr old son. Hubby doesnt want to be ttc anytime soon but will be 37 next yr so dont want to leave it forever may try to bting it up again next yr. On the post about trying ro encourage twins as this will definitely be last pregnancy. Would love another girl and wouldn't be upset if had boy girl but the thought of 2 boys and 3 boys overall doesnt impress me. Ttc in the past wasnt an issue hormonally but granted we are shift workers and now if lucky have 1 night together at most i dread the thought of my brain working overtime yelling at hubby for not wanting to bd. Both kids were conceived off one off chances those months as they were the only times we had together and reasons both took close to 6 months to get timing right.
My brain is mush bit in all that cant shake the thoughts of desperation for another girl and twins.

Are you planning on doing anything differently in order to hopefully get twins? Had hoped ds was a twin so wouild have have been child 2 and 3 done. Always wanted another girl but now thinking both need a friend, i was a middle child and get along great with both siblings hubby was also middle and hates it. What will be will be i guess this is the last chance.
Am hoping can convince hubby to start around then as almost 38 then he's 40 the next month and kids would be close to 5 and 7 then.

I was originally planning on swaying for twins, but I’ve changed my mind and just want God to take control.
I’m the youngest of 3 and would have liked a sister growing up, (I’ve two older brothers). I absolutely think everyone having a playmate is ideal.
However, my youngest son plays quite a bit with his two younger sisters. So at this point, being closer in age is a bit of a bigger pull than same gender!

Hi and welcome!
Is there any way to get Clomid or Femara?? Those are the only reliable ways to up chances of twinning.

Hi , given I've never needed a fertility specialist in the past im not sure id even get a script cause i thought thats how you get them, im in Australia. Have had a few months where ovulation has gone a little skewiff last few months though and hoping stays well by time ttc given im 36 i dont want it worse in a yr or 2. Told hubby may see my OB next yr if still off, not sure what he'll say given i had 2 live births and a mc without assistance.

Yes you do need a prescription, but some people have a history where they can get it.
But if your ovulation is off, you can still be prescribed Clomid or Femara. That is what they're for, to fix that issue and that can start even after other pregnancies.

Just throwing in my two cents - I joined here in 2015 and went gung go ttc a girl. I did very much a kitchen sink sway minus Clomid/Femara but as I knew when we would be ttc I kinda set the wheels in motion with my doctor when I started the sway. So I told a white lie and said we had been ttc for several months and she had me come in for blood work etc and referred me to a FS.
I found out the day after my appointment that I was pregnant on what turned out to be my gorgeous DS3! But I had the script for Clomid and filed it with my doctor "just in case" although I told myself and everyone that I wasn't having any more.
We swayed in 2017 but I didn't pluck up the courage to take the Clomid. I filled the script, had the tablets in my bag and could have taken them but I just couldn't do it cause I was so paranoid about hyperovulation or other side effects as I'd be taking it unmonitored.
Any way, that pregnancy ended at 6 weeks. I managed at home and just reported the loss to my doctor. She thought I had taken the Clomid as I had filled the script so she posted me out a refill for when I was ready. I wasn't ready til this past summer. I said we'd throw caution to the wind and took the Clomid days 3-7. First time ever. As I'd been paranoid over becoming the next OctoMom I spoke to my doctor just before taking them and expressed my concern. She was very quick to assure me that my age (35+) and Clomid WOULD increase our odds of twins but not massively considering I'd only taken it once (I didn't correct her) and she said it may well help aid healthy conception as I could possibly run into issues with my thyroid issues.
What I've only found out since is that my maternal grandmother had fraternal twins, one died in infancy hence why I didn't know. Her mother had fraternal twins who both sadly drowned at 10 years old. The only generation of my mom's family in the last 4 to not have twins has been my mom and her siblings which isn't a massive surprise as only 4 out of 8 had kids and only 6 pregnancies between them (my sister and I and 4 cousins)
Anyway, I wasn't even sure I had ovulated as I didn't use opks (I find them stressful and wanted to be as pink as possible so opted to go without) I had no side effects other than a bit of a headache. We dtd at O-5, possibly O-6 as I genuinely don't know when I Oed, which I reckon would have been too early. Then again at either O-1 or O day. I was beyond shocked to get a positive hpt that cycle. I had been on anti biotic for a chest infection. Had just started Synthyroid for hypothyroidism. DH had a vomiting bug.
But we found out at 15 weeks it's twins! I don't know their genders yet but honestly the novelty of two babies at the same time has taken the edge off any gender desire!!
I haven't seen a huge amount of Clomid twins on this site which speaks volumes when you consider how much of a girl sway tactic it is so I wouldn't consider it a silver bullet by any means but it does definitely give you a leg up if your end goal is twins! Best of luck

Yes we've had a LOT of non-Clomid twins just from swaying pink overall. We don't know if something about the pink sway is upping odds of twins, or if there's something about our bodies (those of us who have had gobs of boys, I mean) that increases chances of twinning.
Congratulations! I am so happy for you now you can feel compeet!
