Having babies close together make opposite sex

I cannot remember for the life of me where I heard this.
I looked at a lot of my friends who conceived their SECOND child before their first child's first birthday. The friends I can at least remember, all got the opposite sex. Even my aunts!!!

We got pregnant just days before my first sons birthday. Got another boy. I thought I'd wait a few years and hope my body changed and joked saying hopefully DP creates some girl spermies.

Do you think there could be something to it or just pure coincidence.

Most the people I know who got pregnant within those first few months after birth all had boys to begin with and then had girls. I put it down to lack of sleep, lack of going out, breastfeeding, and the formula fed bubs maybe they were so busy with a new baby they didn't eat as much as they should be or had ?
The one who had a girl first then a boy. Well I know first hand she was under a huge amount of stress relating to her partner and turned to bad foods.

So do you ladies know anyone who's fallen pregnant within those first 12 months of having a newborn?
Was it opposite sex or same sex?

I too really wonder about this! I have 8 friends who have been in this situation in the past few years (18 months or less age gap). 6 out of the 8 have had the opposite sex and mostly it's been girl after boy. May be a conincidence but you have to wonder whether being tired/not having time to perhaps eat properly, busy with baby etc contributes. Who knows. My baby due in 3 months is arriving 18 months after my second son and dont know gender as we chickened out of finding out. Nubs were girlie and we cldn't see anything sticking out at scan though.. Interesting.

Makes me wider if its just the first couple of months after having bubs? Like bubs - 8 months say?
Clearly nothing certain but, seems to happen a lot

Hmmm. Sorta worked for me. I concieved this baby 11 months after giving birth and am having the opposite sex.

BUT, my aunts two boys are only 11 months apart (she concieved in the first 6 weeks) and my grandmas oldest two girls are 15 months apart.

I can think of examples for both sides of that coin.

It's true for my mil. All her babies are less than a year apart or just over a year. She had boy girl boy girl.

[2] healthy baby boy born in 2011
[21 weeks] Nov. 2012 Went for a scan at 20 weeks, baby measured 17+6, came back for a follow up scan and baby had passed away. Lots of testing, no answers.
Moving on without my son's brother. Starting our HT journey in 2014.

I could see it happening more where there is a boy 1st then a girl as your body would still be depleted of nutrients and stores of vitimins etc after just having a baby.

When ds1 was a baby I knew a girl who had a full-term boy then conceived almost immediately and had another boy. There was only 9 months between her two ds as her ds2 was born at 26 weeks. She's gone on to have 2 girls and another baby this year and her ds1 will turn 6 in Aug I've lost touch with her as we moved away but she was always super skinny but very young. Her middle 3 kids were all v prem too. Hth
