BV during pregnancy
Has anyone dealt with this? Turns out I have had it since right after I conceived. I was put on a vaginal antibiotic at 11 weeks but I am now 13 weeks and it is back with a vengeance. I will get oral antibiotics at 16 weeks but I am nervous to wait until then because I have heard of bv causing second trimester miscarriage. Any input is appreciated

Its one of those unfortunate things that once you get it once it comes back really easy. it really just means the flora in your vagina is easily upset and swayed one way or the other. Yeast infections are more acidic, BV is too alkaline...While i have read about the second and third trimester losses due to BV you gotta remember those are extremely severe cases. Just because you have it or even because its recurring doesnt mean its severe..I will tell you that any kind of douching, bath bombs, sex ESPECIALLY is likely to cause a BV flare up. Mine is alot like yours in the sense that i'll get it treated and after a few weeks/months of unprotected sex with DH it will flare up...something about his stuff and my stuff just doesnt mix well i guess.. i was told its usually sex thats the trigger so if you are truly worried about it id use condoms maybe or have DH pull out, anything to keep it from flaring back up...i got it again this pregnancy after my round of vaginal antibiotics and the second 'bout' of it actually went away on its own..otherwise try and let it put your mind at ease that the stuff you have read is always the worst case scenario and there are lots of women like myself who have had it, multiple times in pregnancies even, and their babies turn out just fine, full term, etc

It is possible but not likely.
In the meantime I'd try to eat fresh garlic a couple times a week (not more than that since it can cause bleeding) and that will hopefully keep it in check. Are you taking probiotics?? If not, do and keep taking them all thru the antibiotics treatment and beyond.

It turns I had a yeast infection from the antibiotics. Really hoping this doesn't become a reoccurring thing. I am still regularly taking probiotics.

Oh good I'm glad it's yeast, that's easier to clear up. I hope it's resolved soon!

Bread always made these things flare up for me, cut out bread for a few days see if it makes a difference, your first day after cutting out bread it changes to a thicker consistency but then the next day its gone so give it a few days ok

Atomic, this may sound crazy but I’ve been reading about moon phases… I have a ‘red moon cycle’ currently which I didn’t used to have. Meaning my period is coinciding with the full moon. From...
