Our rainbow baby FB announcement!
Well it took me awhile to figure out the least trigger-y way to announce on FB. I really like how it turned out, and it has a lot of symbolic meaning to us. Here's the picture we did and what we wrote:
announcement.jpg
"Rainbow Babies" is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it doesn't mean the storm never happened or that the family is not still dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy and hope.
It has been five years of trying to add to our family, and five losses along the way. The bear in the picture is our Disneyland wishbear - we got her in California at the Downtown Disney Build-A-Bear during one of our fertility treatment cycles in 2014. At Build-A-Bear, they let you choose a satin bear heart, make a wish, and place the heart in the bear yourself. Our wish was that we would have our miracle baby someday - and now, we have hope that we can see the rainbow at the end of our storm.
Having been through infertility and repeat loss, we would like to be respectful of our friends who have been through the same. We will be keeping news and pictures to a minimum but we'd also be happy to share more if anyone is interested through private messages, so please do send us a message anytime. Thank you to everyone for all your support and understanding.
