Hi atomic. I had my NIPT today and thankfully baby looks healthy. Hematoma still present, but shrunk 1 cm. Both the tech and doctor both guessed boy. Trying to process it all....

11+6 at the NIPT (which I KNOW is very early). I'm mad at myself for asking and honestly walked in so confident that it was a girl, so when they both separately said that, I literally was in shock. I'm really still praying and holding out hope for my third little lady. I should hear back in 2 weeks regarding the blood which will confirm gender. Here's the two sonogram shots they gave us. Anything stick out to you as boy? I don't know what to look for. I still feel so good about my sway, Femara, and hubby being on SSRI.

Did the NIPT say boy, or the ultrasound??

I see nothing on the pics that looks even remotely boyish (although this is meaningless at this gestation, since you can't tell gender for another week or even two)

I think that you should pretend for the next week that it IS a boy. Just try it on for size. And then that way if they're right, you'll have prepared yourself a little bit more. I don't ever want anyone walking confidently into an ultrasound only to have the rug out from under them since even the best sways can produce opposites, and I did that with DS 3 and it was literally one of the worst moments of my whole life (and I hate hate hate it now that I ever felt like that about my wonderful boy.)

It was the NIPT ultrasound. I did the bloodwork at the same appointment to confirm gender which should be back within two weeks.

I love that advice! I think it's smart instead of holding out hope for a girl and being disappointed. Thank you. I'll update accordingly.

(((Huge Hugs))) Give yourself time to process this and please don't bottle in your feelings. Know we are all here for you! I know right now your head is spinning but trust that you did all that you could have done. For reasons we don't always understand, we are given the child we need instead of the child we want. Someday you will see that this little baby pushed through SO many odds just to come to you. I know with every fiber in my being that he will melt your heart and fit perfectly into your family. Until then, vent away!
