Lavender, the website and blog are delightful...I love bumble blue!!! gorgeous colors, i love deep and rich too, I also hate pastel baby blue! Bleh! Gorgeous, can't wait to see more...your sons are heartbreakingly cute and I love all the vivid, rich pictures! Thank you for sharing with us.
Lavender - loved reading your blog, it's wonderful (as is your house and garden from what I can see!). Really beautiful photos too :D I wish you well with your new business :D
Thank you auroara, so glad you like it. I wasn't sure about starting a blog. But it's made me take more pictures of the boys and it's like a little dairy that I can look back on so glad I made the leap. Also i'm hoping it will be a good tool to launch new products down the line already getting ahead of myself. Plus DP thinks I do NOTHING every day all day! So Now I have proof that that is far from the case!
Plus I like the idea of my brand being personal and 'homemade' i'm making all the labels myself for clothes and want it to be something that you look forward to receving. So if people can see that I really do do it all myself it helps I think?
Thanks Zanacal! Our house was tip when we first got it it's taken nearly two years to get to where we are now and the garden's getting there. But i'm a novice so it's all bit have a go and see at the moment! :D
So what do you guys think of the pricing? £4 for a baby vest? I don't make that much on them as the dye's are the expensive part of the process. Plus the cost of running the machine 3 times per dye load!
Do you think it's more of a gift item or do you think mum's would buy them for their own babies?
This whole process of having a break from swaying and starting this has made me feel so much better about being an all boy mum, and if my thirds a boy, when I eventually fall pregnant i'm just going to dress him in red, purple and plum! :D
Wow, lavender, the blog is brilliant! I love the photos, they seem professional! the colours are beautiful, I feel inspired to dress my new little one in more exciting colours, the bumble blue and plum are so lovely, they would look super cute on a little boy. I'll def order some for ds3 if I may? I need a bit of retail therapy I think lol.
Oh your boys are beautiful by the way.
maybe- would be lovely to see you, we rush off after school tomorrow to swimming so prob won't bump into you. I'll look out though as I can't wait to see little Dave! (sorry can't get his 'old' name out of my mind!) we could meet at a park or something with the boys during easter? we are around the first week.
Thank you Indigo. :)
That's lovely to hear about the photos i'm far from a professional photographer and up until recently had got a little slack on taking pictures of the boys. But I find doing this it's more taking pictures of what they're doing rather than saying cheese and getting them to smile. Plus now I always carry my camera with me which helps! lol
I'd love it if you'd buy something from me! I'm just waiting on the size labels and postage bags. Plus I still have a few more colours to do. Inculding two different greens if you like bright colours? Brown, grey and navy if you prefer darker shades.
I've just read through again and can spot some typos and missing words but bloggers crashed (the editing bit) and I can't correct them. I have to read something about six times to spot a mistake as my brain just fills in missing words or corrects spelling mistakes... grrr.
Thank you ladies you have put my nerves at ease.....
I Just watched OBEM sometimes it makes me really broody and other times it just scares me! tonight was just a little scary the ladies sounded like they were in loads of pain. Another time was the twin mum who had to have one of the twins turned internally. Forever traumatised by that! She was a trooper though.
Lavender - on my iPhone so I need to get on the pc as I can't see your products but your boys are very cute! Love your blog, I love being nosey as to what other people are up to. Well done you! With regards to labour pain - the key there is to think about that after you get pg - i.e when it's too late lol! If I recorded any of my births and could bottle that feeling, I would only have one child ;-)
Indigo a park with the boys would be great. There is a good forest to walk round too but not sure if your up to that as I always seem to attract dogs and my son got stuck 20 foot up a climbing tower - not sure I can Handel that with a newborn. Will pm you tomorrow
Lavender - what about Muslins? I dyed mine navy they look great and the rainbow ones in Jo Jo mama aren't cheap
I thought this too but it got a little complicated as you don't add or pay tax on baby/childrens clothing including bibs.
But muslins don't fall under the catergory of baby clothes so thought I'd leave it until I was a little more organised. I don't think I will earn enough to qualify to pay tax full stop as it is but just want to keep things simple to start off with. I think it's something I will definitely add in the future though as ds1 was such a sicky baby and we had piles of them. They are also useful as sunshades to drape over the pushchairs.
i agree with you 100% but she genuinely doesn't see that though.. and i'm like you in the way that I worry about Serena not having a sister but then i look at my OH's sister who is the only girl and has 3 brothers and she's done just fine for herself and is really close to 2 of her brothers so i'm sure our girls will do just fine growing up with a bunch of older brothers :)
I didn't know that - complicated! I used to bleach
Mine but then lent them to bf and they came back yellow - eeeuugggh!
lavenderlime your blog is amazing! i was hooked from the moment go! i love your way of writing and the pictures are lovely! I really get that old vintage feel when i read your blog :) where you live must be really beautiful and i love that you get ducks outside your house.. that would never happen where i live which makes me feel a bit claustrophobic when i think about it.. if there's one thing i miss growing up in sweden it's the closeness to nature and woodlands which you dont get here.
when are you opening your shop? :)
Lavender- I'd love a couple of vests, bumble blue and a plum in 18-24mths if poss? You will have to tell me total, I already have your address from the SS organising and name. That would be awesome!
Lavender - I struggle to find 'bottoms' to wear with vests which are too pretty to hide. Are you planning to do any little trousers? I think £4 a vest is very reasonable. If you're thinking of gifts how about a set with a selection of colours? Actually, I'd buy a bundle in different colours come to think of it!
Zanacal I have 5 different packs of Four planned that come in a cotton gift bag they are in the 'Group of Four Vests' under the categories section in the shop. They are themed collections, Dusky is the only one aimed at girls the other four are unisex.
That's a brill idea about the bottoms I just need to find some suitable. Will get searching on the net tonight.
Thanks sunset. I'm a rambler by nature and type like I talk I think lol. I was hoping to open tomorrow but am waiting on some dye's so probably Saturday now.
Indigo I'm not 100% sure If I have them in those sizes in those colours but if not the next batch I do later in the week I will be sure to include larger sizes in those colours. I was only going to do 3-6m, 6-9m, 9-12m. But I have larger and smaller sizes in some colours. Need to iron them all tonight and work out what sizes I have in what colours. But you are first on the list for Bumble blue and Plum in 18-24m. P&P as it stands at the mo is £1.50 on a single vest and an extra 50p per item. I actually need to go to the post office tomorrow and check that my estimates are right. It may be a little less or more. But will know for sure tomorrow!
Ooh exciting my first order:)
Just trying to take and upload more pictures but DP is working tonight so may have to wait until the boys go to bed.
Just trying to catch up....
Lavender, absolutely loving your blog... Gorgeous items, gorgeous boys and gorgeous writing and pics! I will definately be ordering! Having an idea is one thing but getting off your bum and actually getting it all going is totally another..... Well done you!
Hi everyone else. Hope you have all been enjoying the sunshine. Me and my boys have been enjoying getting the garden sorted for summer, Im loving watching everything come into bud and loads of things we planted last year have survived :)
Next door are giving us their Wendy house which was made by a guy about 5 doors down and has been handed down through the street for several years....so sweet! Just need to get an area sorted for it. Also need to start packing...
Babymad, Charlie, maybepink, chocolate, how are you ladies? Hope summery days are helping.
Littlemiss, I keep thinking you must be very close to finding out now aren't you? Seem to remember you saying it was nearish the time of inglewoods c-sec
Inglewood, hope you have your feet up as much as possible for these last few days!

Hi all,

To start steriod injections tom...to have them 9am and 9pm sat and sun!! So no sleep for me sat and sun night as I'll be HYPER! Sunset, did u get 2 a day or just 1 injection? I was told they don't give the 1 inj anymore.. :(
:) GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!! :) is............. my section now at 0830am!!! yipee... got a call today to ask if I'd swap my 1.30pm time....eh. YES!!!!! Made my day!!!

Night all, ready to keel over I'm exhausted! Bump pic's to follow (promise) to show u my huge hippo belly! xx
Meant to add last night....
Dh will post on fb for me when they're here, (he can't upload pics, working on that till tues....lol) but isn't telling anyone their names till he's told his family. Since 1 of them has his mum's name as a middle name, he wants to tell her face to face at the evening visiting then he'll go home and phone his sisters and brother. So we'll announce their names the day after. 3 sleeps now.....
oh, and if anyone wants to add me on FB, just PM me. Won't be able to get on here for a while with no fancy phone! lol GD doesn't seem to work on Dh's phone. :( xx
So exciting Inglewood! I'm sure everything on your list will be sorted over the weekend. My DH (me too actually!) can't do anything until it's the last minute and just has to be done! I'm off work on your big day so will be waiting with bated breath for your announcement. I wonder how big they'll be?
Have a great weekend everybody else. Such a bummer that the weather has been glorious all week and the forecast for today is rubbish! DS3's big boy bed is being delivered today so tonight we may have all 3 boys sleeping in one room (including one in a bed for the first time!). I don't have high hopes for much sleep! On a positive note, Cath Kidston were doing 15% off everything yesterday so I ordered him the cowboy print duvet cover, can't wait for it to arrive it's so cute :D
DH is waiting in for the bed today and I'm taking the boys to my neice's party at a soft play centre - just me and the 3 boys and a massive bump at a soft play on a potentially rainy, cold day. Help!!!
Sorry I've not been about!
Inglewood, how exciting for you! And a morning section will be so much better! :) can't wait to hear they have arrived and see pretty pink pictures lol.
Indigo wow! What a wonderful blog! And I agree I love the colours! So glad it's been helping you!
Zanacal good luck with ds3! We have the three boys in a room together when dp's so stays, it actually was surprisingly ok when we started out!
Inglewood - good luck!
I officially hate breast feeding! Four days into my thrush treatment but I'm still in agony. He is always hungry even after a hour of feeding. When I don't feed I'm sore, when I am feeding it's hell. I have been into drop in clinic twice at the hospital who said my latch is fine. I can't live in pain or keep going back to the hospital. I really want this work but it just isn't working. Don't know what else I can do. Surely it should be getting easier by now?
Maybe, it sounds hellish and you seem to be really sticking at it. I've never had thrush from feeding so have no clue how it feels so can't really imagine what you are goin through. But I do remeber the really hungry part well both my ds's were half hourly feeders but only at night. This lasted for a good two weeks when they were newborns and it was such a killer mentally being that exhausted. But the way I got through it was this is the here and now. It's not forever it's a relatively short space in my life where I feel pretty crappy but i'm doing it for the greater good and I know it will get better.
And of course it did. It all depends how much you want to feed? If you really want to stick at it KellyMom : keeping you informed about breastfeeding and parenting is a great source of breastfeeding advice. The thing with breastfeeding is it is natural but it's also a skill and some babies pick it up faster than others. it's such a shame that mothers get thrown obsticles such as thrush, mastisis, problems with latch etc.
You say it hurts when you not feeding if it's a burning full pain the best thing that worked for me was the disposable breast pads soaked in water popped in the freezer. They were really sothing and I always had a stash ready.
I hope things get easier if you continue to feed.
Thinking of you xx
Inglewood, good news on your section time moving so exciting I can't believe how fast the time has gone! Don't forget to post that bump picture!
babymad and Kell nice to hear from you.
Deaks hope you have a lovely holiday.
Hello to everyone else hope your having a nice weekend shame about the weather.
Hi, just a quickie, off to asda before injection no 2! It was flippin sore!!!! OUCH!! into my thigh, had a dead leg for ages after..... Try to be brave as they know I am a nurse (in my notes)...lol
Thanks for all ur nice wishes, loading camera pics as we speak.... hope to upload b4 I leave , if not do it when I get back. x
Maybe, that sounds really rough. I agree that kellymom is a great online resource but it sounds like you need some expert help too! I have several friends who have trained to be breastfeeding counsellors and they're all a wealth of information. The ABM (Association of Breastfeeding Mothers) have a helpline, which is 08444 122 949 - their site is Association of Breastfeeding Mothers | Supporting Breastfeeding Women since 1979 The NCT also have a breastfeeding helpline on 0300 330 0771 - Contact us | NCT
I would definitely call somebody who has the time to go through your issues with you in detail and who are specifically trained in breastfeeding. In my experience midwives aren't the best resource for breastfeeding issues.
Inglewood ~ I only had 2 shots if i remember correctly which was 24 hours apart.. strange how they do things differently depending on where you are.
Maybebaby ~ has the thrust treatment helped much, is it all healed now because it sounds like it could still be thrush? other than that i dont know. as the weeks go by it should be getting easier if your little one latches on properly. Perhaps try ringing the numbers Zanacal gave you. i agree that sometimes midwifes arent the best resource for breastfeeding issues. i hope it gets easier for you soon ((hugs))
Hi all, sorry just logging on really quick as only just finished packing and needed sleeeeeep!
Inglewood, will be thinking of you this week and will try and log on to read your news
Littlemiss, haven't seen you here for a while but good luck for your scan which i think is also this week. Fx for pink for you!
Hi everyone else, have a lovely Easter hols. Will catch up when I'm back and scan is day after so hopefully some nubsessing for us all to do!
Much love X
Injection 2 was worse!!! Could of cried!! big baby! lol Leg aching.... ur lucky Sunset, they haven't got the single inj at my hosp anymore.
So....here's my recent bump pic... please excuse the black top with navy trousers (we all know they don't go, lol) was having a spring clean, so anything old that fitted was my attire.... the other pic was taken after that one later on. I was 34wks + 4 when taken.
LMW, so hope I can log on with Dh's phone for ur scan...is it the 4th????
Omg inglewood - your - erm looking like it's twins in the politest way :-) I will pm you
Deaks have a fantastic holiday!
I rang my local nct volunteer who never returned my call. Called the national breastfeeding helpline who cut me off. Feel a tad better today as kept him going yesterday on boob and expressed milk. I think it might be less sore? Not sure as it's degrees of pain. More rubbing boob on brillow pad today than a cheese grater. So much for not being a marter this time!
Inglewood~ That bump is beautiful!!! I wanted to wish you the VERY BEST of LUCK, cannot wait to see those gorgous baby girls!! I feel like I just saw your avatar of the sono of twins!, not even sure if that was on here or PL...really felt like yesterday (in some ways). So happy your section was moved to the am, so much better that way! You have the whole day to recover, and your little men will be able to be with you and the girls shortly after. I will be thinking and praying for you. I am BEYOND happy for you and your family. :HH:
Thank you zanacal that would be lovely. I was going to find a private lactation consultant but looking into it my closest is the nct woman who ignored me - not paying for that! Anoying as I put of work into my local group - where the he'll does the money me and my group raise go???
I'm working on it maybe! Option no. 1 is on holiday but in the meantime, I've been told this is a good link:
http://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org....g_Jan-2012.pdf
Maybe that isn't great I hope you get to talk to someone soon.
inglewood impressive bump!!
Deaks have a fabulous holiday.
Decided to go back on the crappy diet tomorrow erghhhhhh........
