January 2018 TTC & 2ww thread

ABC, yes that’s the plan. We will see how it goes. While I am “swaying” girl, I would just like to be pregnant. I do have a boy and girl. My girl is considered special needs (diagnosed with a rare genetic condition abou 1.5years ago). She is non-verbal but does some words and some sign language. So while I have a girl, any “plans” that you have in your head about a girl are lost with a diagnosis. So I would love another girl for many reasons, of course not to replace her but many say after you get diagnosed you grieve the “loss” of child and I get that. So I had these visions of her just like I do my son and now our plans are different and earlier on it was super tough to lose those dreams. My son asks for a brother, he says he has a sister and would like a brother too. So that’s sweet but part still wants those plans I lost back. Sorry for the sad vent, it’s been a morning.

Girlsway didnt u lose so much weight? I stopped to ovulate for 3 months last year but i also drank peppermint tea and took vitex. My doctor gave me injection twice coz my cycles were never ending...60cd. It helped me eating eggs, full fat dairy, nuts and gain some weigh:(

I started adding more dairy and eggs 2 weeks ago, think I’ll drop peppermint tea!

Eighme - Totally get it. Shortly after our DS2 was born my SIL announced she was pregnant with her 2nd child (her first was a boy). I'm pretty sure after my DS2 was born I had PPD (never got diagnosed/treated), both due to pretty strong gender disappointment as well as DS2's traumatic birth. I will say though that over Christmas when we were all together for a week I was very much able to play and bond with her little girl and I didn't feel all those crazy feelings I felt when she was first born - so whatever happens I think you'll be able to work through all the feelings in time. But they are normal feelings for sure!!!

Star we don't use lube (as I usually have LOTS of EWCM!) but I've seen people on here swaying girl say they used a little bit (fingertip) of preseed.

Mwilson if you DTD last night maybe just stick with the every 72 hours plan from this point on, until you can confirm O with temping? That should keep you covered as far as viable attempts. I get the stress though - I always seem to O 48+hours after first +OPK.

GirlSwayHGMama - I know several "Boy Moms" - moms who whether they wanted it or not (and most of them didn't) have all boys and have resigned themselves to saying "well I'm just a boy mom I guess". Sigh - I feel like that's what I'm going to end up having to do too - and I just don't want that. I want to be a boy AND a girl mom... And I know stereotypes are just stereotypes and my DS1 is a TOTAL sensitive sweetheart and if I have a girl she may be a total tomboy, but I'm still so desperate to have a daughter. Just one! That's all I want!! :) :)

As for me - I'm getting a little freaked out. I'm CD12 - I normally get a +OPK by CD13 at the latest and I just feel like it's not going to come tomorrow!! What's really freaking me out though is that I normally have TONS of EWCM by like, CD11 or so and I have very, very little right now. Maybe b/c it's the 3rd cycle of Clomid (although I was off it for over a month due to the early m/c). It's just SO weird - I normally have so much and I feel so dry right now!! Also I'm on DAY 4 of "high fertility" on the dual OPKs. I've never had more than 4 days... So "peak" should come tomorrow, right? But where is my EWCM?!

On top of that - I'm desperate to be pregnant, and desperate to be pregnant with a little girl. Why is this SO DAMN HARD!!!!????!!!! Ok - vent over now :)

Thanks, ABC! We are all obviously here for a strong desire for one gender over the other. I could go on and on about why her having a girl would be particularly hard for me. I think it all just boils down to my feelings about and her competitiveness towards me.

I'm so thankful to have a forum of ladies who have similar problems, issues, just general thought about everything.

Sorry mwilson about grieving the loss of how you imagined her healthy life. I deal with that on a daily basis at work. I work in a NICU that has a large genetic population.

Thanks. But thankfully she doesn’t have any medical issues, just speech and some learning delays. I couldn’t imagine having health scares on top :(

Ugh FF is screwing up and now scaring me. I have not ovulated. I have not had a positive opk. But it has marked me as ovulated three days ago and that would give me zero chance of conceiving. Ugh!!!!!!! Please FF be wrong!

Is it going off your temps? Could you missed the positive on cd 8?

Don’t worry HGmama, your temps last time went all the way to 98.1, so I think it’ll readjust once you o.

Yep. My coverline is 97.0 and 97.3 the last two months so apparently FF is thinking my two 97.1s is post O temp.

Ladies - so I just got a negative on Clear Blue digital opk (regular kind) & got this on a Wondfo... the test line is still a tiny bit lighter than control so I guess it's a negative too? Does it look negative to you? EWCM started picking up this morning so I'm definitely getting there. Yes looks so close! Take another later in the day and see if it’s darker. If it were mine I’d call it positive. My tests arent gradual, either super faint or dark.

Yes mine too. This is positive for me and when i get it darker it is mostly my day of ovulation:)

Girlsway and mwilson - yea I am nervous that the Wondfo is a positive as when I've done manual opks in the past my lines never seemed to get quite as dark as the control. I went back several minutes later and it was as dark - but I guess that doesn't matter since it was way past the time limit, yea? But the digital was definitely a negative so I'm thinking I need to keep going on that. I didn't use Wondfos the few cycles before this one as they confuse me too much!!!

Anyways it's looking like I'm going to get a positive digital soon though so I'm thinking tomorrow will be the big BD day!

Good luck! I’m ready for some testing pics so fingers crossed for lots of bfp pics in the near future!

Do any of you ladies recommend the digital OPK's over the test strips? I'm not even bothering to start early testing this cycle because I feel like I missed ovulation entirely. I feel like I might have better luck with digital... the prices just make me raise my eyebrows

Personally I don't think you've oed yet and ff will remove the crosshairs or reallocate them once you have. Remember it is a computer program that works on algorithms and sometimes it will prematurely allocate crosshairs when the data entered triggers one of these said algorithms [emoji4] (in this case your last three temps have) As that data changes or more is input it will adjust as necessary, especially when more than just the temps are taken into consideration (cm, opks etc) Hang in there! I know its frustrating but it will sort itself out and your true crosshairs will be allocated in the right spot eventually xo

I do! Well the dual hornome digi ones anyway. I know they are expensive but I think for some people it really helps that both lh and estrogen is tested and taken into account. Plus there's the added bonus of using fmu [emoji108] and you can test additionally in the evenings if you're worried about a short surge ONCE you get a flashing smiley [emoji4] (this may result in an attempt 2-o if you fall in the average of oing between 24-48 hours after pos opk as you usually wouldn't get a solid smiley until next mornings fmu but a 2-o attempt is still excellant timing, some argue its even better than 1-o. I believe both are pretty much even in conception odds [emoji4])

During my longest spell on the le diet when I was doing it my cm dried up to almost non existent. I had to start checking it internally as it no longer appeared on toilet paper or knickers. I still ovulated every cycle (and although I didn't know it at the time I also had very low ovarian reserve). Please dont assume you wont o, give it some more time. I know it's terribly frustrating but hang in there! I think someone suggested adding full fat dairy and some egg serving? Not sureif you've already started that but you could try this if you haven't yet?

I’m temping, Verena, no temp rise yet :(

I asked a couple days after mummy’s worried post and said it was a little darker but havent seen anything since.

I think I’m in the 2ww. FF hasn’t given my cross hairs yet but I’m assuming 1/2 dpo. We were going to bd tonight to cover any late ov but I chipped a molar and am headed to dentist so not sure how that will go tonight haha.
