Lola I am still wondering if it's a fluke?? What are the chances of that? It seems so bizarre since you HAVE gotten PG... and nothing has really changed for him health-wise. You should receive the report any day, right?Quote:

It could very well have been a fluke. I had his release 48 hours earlier so they were fresh, which is actually what they recommended- 2 to 3 days abstinence. I am also wondering if the "excitement" level adds to the sample, ya know? He had to do it without any lube or anything, totally dry, and make sure it all went into the tiny little cup.....and our DD2 had just barfed at school and he had to get her and then put her in front of the tv while he did his business, then take her with him to deliver it to the lab right away. Probably not the best of circumstances, but I figured a sample is a sample. Now I'm wondering if he could, um, shoot a better one under different circumstances, like if we are having a rollicking good time in the sack, kwim?
Lola you know, there's a study on here ... or if not on here, on the internet, that has been referenced here. I need to find it, but it does say there is a SIGNIFICANT difference in sperm count from actual intercourse and ... um, imaginary ;). I will look for that later today when I might have more time. Anyhow I'm sure it's hard to have the hope this cycle, but we've said it a million times lately ...He HAS gotten you pregnant before ... there is NO reason that this cycle couldn't be another time. So personally I'm going to keep hoping for THIS month to be your month :)
MFC girl I'm happy to see you back! Sorry the cycles are STILL wonky! Are you taking anything besides the Clomid or did you drop all the supps?
Iluv is your scan today?!? Fingers crossed that you see a perfectly healthy little blessing in there! And maybe even a nub if you're lucky ;) Can't wait to see a pic! On the bellies thing, I carried both of my girls really high. Like I could still wear normal non-mat pants the whole time.
That reminds me! I was going to take a belly pic today :) I need to be better about that; I have 1 or 2 from each of my previous pregnancies and that is it. And I did decide that I am for sure having an elective u/s, not to find out gender, but bc I realized I don't have video of any of my babies in the womb and I want that for at least one. My doc's office doesn't provide it so I'm going to do a private one later.

Lola- I just want to say wait 4 days before you dtd but at least 3! Back when I was always checking DH sample he always had the most amount with 4 days abst.

Lola- I could definitely see the circumstances being a problem. Giving a sample is pressure enough but throw in the rest he had to deal with and holy cow pressure! I'm all for retesting and hoping it goes more smoothly for him.
Holy crap 3 more days! I'm trying to keep myself busy and distracted but it's so hard. I keep thinking in a few days I'll either be elated or disappointed, not terribly disappointed but still. DD is holding strong that it's a boy, this makes keeping my hopes under control extra hard. I almost want to find out just to be put out of my misery lol

Lola, I think your BD plan sounds good--and I like what begonia said about the count being higher with "real" sex. Hopefully that's true for your DH especially. Also, I wonder, like everyone else, if doing another SA might be a good idea? Like getting a second opinion? Who knows, there could have been a screw up in the lab or something.

As far as the belly theory, I think it all has to do with your muscle tone. I carried low with #1 (girl) and then progressively lower each pregnancy. My 3rd was ridiculously. My belly was HANGING. EVERYONE told me I was having a boy. And she was a girl.
Okay, so AF arrived today. That means I will probably O around Oct. 4-5. I am afraid to TTC this cycle, though, because we had gone to the hot springs back in July, and those sperm will still be forming until Oct 2. So if I want to avoid the hot springs sperm, I need to wait until Oct 3, I think? But that doesn't leave me many days if I wanted to do it for several times leading up to O. UGH! I am so frustrated with my cycle! If I hadn't O'ed early last month, I would have been in the clear!:hair:
Would you guys TTC anyway? I guess I have to see when I get my first +opk. I hope that I O late this cycle!!!!

Yes, I DTD every day for 6 days in a row when we got pg with my DS. We are going to DTD this time every other day or so leading up to O, but I don't want to do that with the hot springs sperm. I am just so mad that I O'ed early last cycle--it screwed everything up! I don't want to miss conceiving in Oct. because it is the "Magic Boy Month". If I can delay my O somehow, and O a few days later, things would be so much better! But if my cycle stays short, there is a chance that I will O twice this month, but I can't totally rely on that. My cycle is so screwey!

Hey Hobber! Try some boy supp's to make your cycle longer? Like EPO, FertileCM, etc. these supp's made my cycle longer, but if you feel worried or anxious then I would recommend that you wait. GL on whatever you decide.Quote:

Jane I am pretty sure you can read the smilies like a regular OPK - your LH line should be as dark or darker than the control to indicate a positive or LH surge. Are you saving the test sticks to compare? I'm obsessive so I always do :p. You could post a pic for us to look at!Quote:

Hobber, I wouldn't worry at all about the hot springs thing. If you guys dtd for 6 days in a row and got a boy, he's got a good sperm count (LUCKY!) so don't worry about it! Was quite a while ago also...I wouldn't get in the hot springs while you were doing it, but otherwise, its no big deal. I truly believe you will be just fine!

I dont know why I had so many ewcm days this month. I even had it for like 2 days after O. And I had this never ending O.This cycle was just different. O was late too...I think from the fertile cm.
Yes we did try but no bd on O day (by accident) only 4 and 2 days before. so well see...DH says to stop ttc...or if yes just 1 more try and that's it.
jane- they say not to read the smiley strips! I never got the same dark or darker blue on it! So I would not read it.
skrimpy- your baby girl is very cute!!!
hobber- about the hot springs you say it killed all the sperms. So why are you worried? IF it's true you are not going to be pregnant with a girl because you not gonna get pregnant at all! But I don't really believe your DH count is dead or low because he was in the water 72 days ago!
I agree with Flava Hobber, I can't believe the springs 72 days ago could have done that much damage! But the BD plan sounds good. I don't know that October is really "magic" LOL ... I mean I do think seasons sway somewhat, but not a ton. I have loads of friends with summer girls. Heck, I'm a summer girl :) Either way I just hope everything lines up so you can feel confident in your sway!
MFC I don't know about the not finding out! DH is adamant about it, because he's always wanted a surprise, from before we ever even had our 1st child. And I've always wanted to know, and I've always won that ;) But I want to give him his surprise this time. And for awhile I thought a surprise would be better for me bc I was so concerned about having GD if I heard "girl" before delivery ... but now I actually think I'll be fine, not as thrilled as hearing boy, but really not at all upset if I hear girl. So part of me just wants to know now. In my ideal world the sono or my doc will mess up and spill the beans, and then I get to find out without it being my fault ;)

Im fine thanks. I don't think I have any symptoms...well a little this and that but I think it's just because of this little cold I have. I also feel things almost every month when Im not even ttc so I can't tell.

I don't understand the life cycle of the sperm is all. I am just not sure I want to take a chance on using sperm that may have been damaged by so much heat. I know they aren't all dead, but I worry that they won't be quite right. We don't usually go hot tubbing or to the hot sprongs--this was a one time deal--so I sort of feel inclined to wait it out. But I know, it is always goin to be SOMETHING, and I am getting old, and it is "boy season" so I need to get on this TTC thing! I will see what the opks say as the cycle goes on. Maybe it will work out. I have been taking supps, but I think the Fertile CM and EPO together were what made my cycle so short! I will pick one and just stick with it for next cycle.
